Edited it grammar should be good now

Zeus POV

"Alfia how are you alive," I asked she was supposed to be dead that's the whole reason she didn't stay to raise Bell.

"I was given a second chance. Saved Astraea's kids as well" she said then looked past me to look at Bell.

"Who are you," Bell asked stepping forward towards her.

"Bell no," Regis said trying to bite his shirt to pull him back but missed.

He continued walking and I didn't stop him so Regis stopped trying to stop him. Bell walked up to Alfia and looked directly into her eyes and I saw a look of disgust flash in her eyes.

"He has his eyes" Alfia spat.

"Of course, he does Alfia you know how children are made," I said.

She clicked her tongue before speaking to Bell.

"Listen here kid I'm your aunt but don't call me that cause it makes me feel old got it"

"Aunt Alfia got it," he said shaking his head.

"I said don't call me that," she said hitting Bell on the head.

"Ow you're mean," he said rubbing the spot where she hit before walking back to Regis.

"Really Alfia hitting a child," I said looking at her with disappointment.

"I told him not to call me that," she said before walking towards the house.

"Yeah go ahead make yourself at home" I sarcastically said.

"Zeus what do we do," Regis asked.

"She's here for a reason let's find out what"

The three of us then walked into the house but Bell asked me a question before we entered.

"Grandpa who is that lady? you talk like you know here" he asked.

"She's a mage and a pretty good one at that"

"Oh does that mean she's a white core mage"

"No Bell she doesn't have a mana core at all"

"What really that's cool that means she's super strong right"

I chuckled a little at his childlike behavior. "Yes Bell she is strong"

"She's still mean though"

I laughed again before we walked inside and saw Alfia sitting on the couch.

"Nice little place you have here and it's off the grid to the perfect place to hide," she said.

"Don't talk about that stuff in front of Bell" I ordered. Sure she may have been one of Hera's best but I'm still a god and she's in my domain.

"Fine but I'm gonna start training the kid since you haven't"

"He's seven Alfia and he did pretty well against some slavers a few days ago," I told her not letting her talk bad about my grandson.

"Oh really he fought them"

"No I used my magic and tricked them," he said peering from behind Regis who was still protectively in front of Bell.

"You. Used magic really" Alfia questioned.

"Yeah I have a mana core it's light red"

"Kid the normal age to awaken a mana core is 8-9 for this who have it. How is it that you already have one and your only seven"

"I'll explain it later Alfia now why do you want to train the boy," I said cutting off that line of questioning.

"Well he wants to go to Oraio right he'll need to know how to fight beforehand if he wants to survive," she said and her words did make sense.

"Grandpa I want to train that way I'll be able to protect you and Regis and Allen and Anya next time I see them," he said a bright smile on his face. He forgot the fact that Allen and Anya would be stronger than him when he arrived at Oraio but I wouldn't tell him that. I also felt bad for him cause it was Alfia training him.

I sighed before agreeing to it. "Fine. I had wanted to wait until you were older but I guess it can't be helped. Take a seat Bell and I'll give you my falna and a gift I have for you" I told him.

The boy was practically bouncing with excitement as he took a seat and took off his shirt. I did the process and put my falna on his back. He then put his shirt back on and I looked at the paper and saw he already had three skills. One was of course his mana core which allows him to use all types of magic since he was a human. Since he was also related to him there was no doubt that he would have deviant elements as well. Another one was a draconic beast will no doubt because of him as well. His third skill however was one I didn't expect. Its name was heroic Will and my guess is it manifested when he saved Anya and Allen. Pretty much it allowed him to grow faster

"I can already feel the headache he's about to cause," Alfia said seeing his stat sheet.

"Oh please this just means he'll be a badass when he grows up," I said fully expecting a headache from

my grandson as well.

"Wait here Bell I have something to give you," I said and then walked into my room. When I entered I laid down next to my dresser and looked under it seeing the secret compartment I had underneath it. Hitting it I knocked it out of place and pulled out a black knife that was in its sheath. I then put the compartment back and walked back into the living room.

"Alright Bell before I give this to you there are a few rules you have to follow or else I'll take it away got it"

"I got it grandpa" he replied looking like a kid at Christmas.

"Rule number one. This is not a toy this is a weapon and you need to treat it as such. Rule number two for right now you're only allowed to use it for training and only training. Rule number three treat this weapon as if it's a living thing meaning you'll have to take care of it got it" I told him to explain the rules to me allowing him to have this at such a young age.

"Yes, sir grandpa I promise I'll follow the rules," he said practically jumping up and down.

I then crouched down and handed him the knife. He unsheathed it and saw the blade which was pure black along with the runes inscribed on it.

"Grandpa why does my knife look like this" Bell asked examining the knife.

"Because I had someone who owed me a favor make it. When you were born I took a little bit of your blood and put it in a vial then sent it off along with a few other materials I had stashed away for this occasion"

"Grandpa I'm confused"

"The knife is made for you and will grow with you as you get stronger. Nobody but you or anyone related to you will be able to use it my boy" I told him in a jovial tone.

"So this knife is just for me," he asked while putting his knife back in the sheath.

"That is correct my boy"

"That's so cool. Can I meet the person who made this" he asked.

"One day my boy one day"

"Great now that that's over with come boy your training starts now," Alfia said. She was quiet this whole conversation probably not wanting to intrude on this moment.

"Ok," Bell said gloomily.

"Don't worry kid I'll be right there with you to make sure she doesn't go too far" Regis told him as he walked next to him.

"I'd like to see you try mutt," Alfia said.

"Careful witch my bite is strong"

"What did you just call me"

I didn't hear anymore of the conversation as they had walked out the door. Five years came and went in no time and Bell was now 12. It was finally time that I told him about his ancestor.

"Bell come here a moment," I told the boy who was practicing archery. He had picked it up when he was 10 since he saw me use one while hunting and thought it was cool. He had grown up quite nicely. He was taller standing at around 5'6 with a lean build that was focused more on agility and speed than strength. His face still had baby fat on it but once that was gone he'd have to beat the girls away. Ah, my grandson is gonna be a handsome one and I couldn't be more proud.

"Coming Grandpa," he said putting his bow on his back. He didn't have a quiver as he used mana as his arrows. I then led him inside and took a seat on the couch. He took a seat in the recliner across from me.

"So what is it you want to talk about," he asked.

"Well, I think you're old enough to know about your family tree. But if you don't want to hear it just yet I'll hold off on telling you" I said not wanting to force this on him.

"No, I'm ready grandpa. I know about mom and Alfia but that's pretty much it"

"Very well but this stories a long one. About 200 years ago there was a man named Arthur Leywin. He was a mage with incredible talent the likes of which was born once in a generation" I began. I told him the story of Arthur's life. From him being reincarnated to him saving the human race. Or lesser race as the asuras called them. I also explained to him what the asuras were. Mortals that were the closest to achieving godhood.

"So Arthur is my great-grandfather," Bell asked.

"That is correct and since he and his bond Slyvie were connected via a bond link and later Slyvie sacrificed herself to save Arthur which gave him Asura DNA and allowed him to have a dragon's body. Which in turn was passed down through generations becoming more and more diluted. So while you're still human you have a dragon beast will in return" I explained. Since Bell's asuran blood was very little he didn't posses a draconic body. But in return, he got a phase one and phase two beast will.

"So that's where my beast will came from. So I'm also part elf as well" he questioned.

"Yes but it's maybe five percent so that's why your ears aren't pointy. You're more human than anything else Bell"

"Oh ok so I guess my bloodline is very talented then"

"Yes every descendant of Arthur's is very talented even your father"

"Grandpa why does Alfia hate my dad"

"Cause your aunt can be a prune and very rude. With your father and mother, she never approved of their relationship. But Meteria told her she was marrying him whether she liked it or not so Alfia had to just deal with it"

"Does Alfia hate me?" he asked and his voice sounded uncertain.

"No Alfia's always been a hardass and she's so obsessed with silence that she hurts people that don't listen. She was pretty good at it to some called her the incarnation of talent" I told him.

"But she said I had his eyes when we first met"

"You remember that"

"Yeah I remember it cause she said it like she was disgusted"

I let out a sigh before I spoke "Bell your dad's and Alfia's relationship was complicated, to say the least. Your aunt cared deeply for your mother. She felt like it was her fault that she was born with all this talent and your mother was sickly and bed-bound most of her life"

"Is that why she's always at her grave?" he said looking out the window and seeing Alfia standing over his mother's grave.

"Yes but your aunt also has that same sickness but it wasn't as bad as your mother's"

"So does that mean she'll die to"

"Yes like all living things she will die someday"

"But she won't last much longer," I thought.

"Oh well that's sad"

"It is Bell but hey just remember that they'll always be with you"

Bell POV

"Yeah grandpa I know," I thought to myself after reliving the memory. I continued to dig the hole next to my mother's grave. Once I finished I got out of it and put Alfia's wrapped-up body inside it. I then covered her in dirt giving her a proper burial. Once I finished I looked at the three crosses. One for my mom. The other for my grandpa and the last for Alfia. I was now all alone.

"Hey, kid how ya feeling," Regis asked me. He had sat behind me not saying a word as I dug the grave and also silently paying his respects.

"I feel alone Regis. Or pretty close to it. Heh, I guess you're the only family I got left" I told him and I could feel myself tearing up.

"And I won't leave you," he told me resting his head on my lap as a form of comfort.

"God I miss them so much. I miss gramps and I'm the one that got him killed"

"Hey don't think like that. He gladly did what he did to save you and he would do it all over again that's how much he loved you"

"But it was my mana core that was poising me. If I didn't have one he'd still be alive"

"Or you could've gotten the sickness your mother and aunt had. Your mana core is what saved you"

Neither of us said anything after that. I just sat on the ground in front of their graves and cried. I know grandpa was a god and so I had no body to bury but the grave was just a thing to remember him by. I sat there until the sun started to set. I then went back inside the empty cabin. What was once a place full of happiness and memories now felt quiet and cold. I walked over to the fridge and opened it. I didn't feel like cooking. Alfia's cooking was always the best. I took out a pot of stew that Alfia made a few days before she died. I ate it and enjoyed the last piece of her cooking I would ever have. I then put the dishes away and went to sleep. When I awoke in the morning the house felt the same. Still so cold and so quiet I couldn't take it anymore. So I packed whatever I could. I took Arthur's notebook and a few letters my grandpa had written. I took my knife and my bow and all the money grandpa had saved up for me as well as the key to Alfia's vault in Orario. I then packed it all into a bag and walked to the front door. I took one last look inside before I shut the door and started walking to Orario.

"So off to Orario huh Bell"

"Yeah it'll be nice to see Anya and Allen again"

"Hopefully they still remember you"

"Hey don't bring the mood down"

"Alright alright. Just a boy and his wolf against the world"

"You're a dog"

"Wolf"

"Dog"

"I will bite you"

"I'll kick you"

We walked in silence for a few moments before Regis spoke again. "Kid just know whatever happens I got your back got it"

"Thanks, Regis that means a lot"

"Yup just a 14-year-old boy with a light yellow mana core and his talking dog we got this"

I let out a chuckle probably the first since Alfia had died. Well, at least she went out peacefully in her sleep.

"So how far is Oraio," I asked Regis.

"Not too far should be there in a few days"

"Good. I guess this is the start of our adventure Regis"

"That it is kid"

Second chapter down and Bell is off to Orario. For those of you who feel like I didn't do Alfia's character well don't worry they'll be flashback scenes of her and Bell during their seven years together. Also gonna have the Astraea familia still be alive basic I know but I think it'll be a fun idea to play around with. Anyway hope you enjoyed leave a comment if you did see ya.
