Bell POV

"That's a big tower," I said being able to see the Tower of Babel from at least 20 miles away.

"That's also a pretty big city" Regis added.

We kept walking for another few hours until we finally reached the gate with the sun now being elevated in the sky. When we got there the line was long and we had to wait about another hour before we could even get inside. When it was finally our turn at the gate I spoke to the guard there. He was a giant of a man being nearly taller than sitting down. He wore an elephant mask and a red toga which further proved the fact that this man was strong.

"State your name and business," he said kindly. A lot kinder than I thought he would be.

"The names Bell and I'm here to be an adventurer"

"No last name"

"No last name"

"And I assume you're seeking permanent residence in Orario"

"For the time being yes"

"Alright that'll be 3,000 valis," he said. I reached into my pouch and pulled out the required amount. I handed it to him and watched as he counted and then welcomed me to Orario. I thanked him for his time and finally took my first step into the city.

"Woah that's a lot of people," I said. Everywhere I looked there were people of all different races. Cat people, elves, amazons, dog people. You name it it was probably there.

"Careful farm boy don't get too lost in the sights we still need to deliver those letters" Regis joked.

I shook my head to knock myself out of my stupor before I walked down Main Street. I asked around at vendors that were there for directions and started making my way to my destination. It took me a few minutes as I didn't know my way around the city but after asking a few kind strangers I finally arrived at the guild.

"Wow this building looks cool," I said looking at all the intricate carvings on the pillar and doorframe. The latter being gigantic.

"You keep your mouth open like that you'll catch flies" Regis joked next to me.

I started for a few more moments before focusing once again and headed inside. However, since I wasn't really looking where I was going I bumped into a half-elf that was walking by with paperwork knocking her down and papers spreading everywhere.

"I am so sorry I wasn't looking where I was going," I said as I crouched to help her up. "Are you ok"

She fixed her glasses before she spoke and now that I looked at her she was quite pretty. I started to feel a little nervous.

"It's alright it was an accident," she said as she started to pick up her papers.

I said nothing and began to help her pick up her papers. Once I was finished I handed the stack to her.

"Well thank you for your help," she said then stopped and I took this as my cue to introduce myself.

"Oh my name is Bell, I'm uh new in town"

"Nice to meet you Bell my name is Eina Tulle as you can see I work at the guild," she said professionally.

"Uh yeah, I can. Oh, I'm here to get some information about a couple of gods. I have a letter for them" I said remembering why I came here in the first place.

"Oh what gods are you looking for"

"I'm looking for a god named Miach and a goddess named Astraea"

"Well lord Miach runs a pharmacy in the northern end of Orario and lady Astraea normally stays in her home the stardust garden in the western end of Orario" she explained.

"Yeah, I have no clue where any of that is can I get a map," I asked chuckling nervously.

"Of course please wait here a moment," she said and walked off to a back room.

"Smooth Prince Charming smooth," Regis said.

"Shut up," I told him feeling embarrassed.

After a few minutes, Eina returned and handed me a map.

"This map is a magic item the guild has for newcomers. This dot right here is you and well I assume you know how a map works. So if you're lost just look at where your dot is and work your way back" she said explaining how the map worked.

"Oh thank you how much do I owe you for the map"

"Nothing sir they're free for newcomers. However, if you lose it you'll have to pay for another one"

"Alright, I'll keep that in mind. Thank you I'll see you later" I said walking out of the building.

"So that was your first interaction with a girl and you somehow didn't fuck it up good job" Regis sarcastically said.

"I will kick you dog"

"Wolf"

"Still a dog"

Using the map Eina gave me I was able to find my way to the Blue pharmacy. Seeing as they were open I opened the door and heard a Bell go off above me.

"Ah welcome to my shop how may I help you," a man with blue hair said.

"I'm guessing you're Miach"

"Yes I am child how may I help you"

"Got a letter for you it's from a mutual friend," I said handing him the letter. The god opened the letter and read it. While he was reading it I saw a female dog person come out from what I assumed to be a storage room. I then heard a sigh and the letter being set down.

"So he's really gone huh," Miach asked and I knew what he was asking.

"Yeah, my mana core was poising me. So he used his arcanum to save me" I sadly said reliving the memories of Alfia telling me what he did. Then I felt sad thinking of Alfia.

"You've been through a lot haven't you child"

"I guess so"

"Well, he requested that I ask you to join my familia. We have a debt and it's a pretty big one so I'll the decision up to you"

"I'll join and I'll clear your debt I was left some money by my aunt"

"You'd do that for us," the woman said.

"Well you're my familia now so yeah"

"Well let me put my falna on you so you'll officially become a member," Miach said gesturing to a chair. I sat down in the chair while taking my shirt off. It took a few minutes but once it was done I felt my strength return to me since Zeus died.

"Oh my, you have quite the status for a level one," Miach said.

"Yeah the letter did mention my aunt right"

"That it did but I didn't think most of your stats to be at B and your agility is at A and your magics at S but that's to be expected since you have a mana core"

"Just wait until you see my skills"

"Oh, that explains the growth," Miach said seeing my heroic will skill.

"Well, I think introductions are in order. I'm Miach a god. You already know that but this woman right here is the captain of my familia her name is Nazha. Treat her with the respect and she'll treat you the same"

"Hello, Nazha my name is Bell I guess we're familia members now" I nervously said.

"Likewise and what's your dogs name," she asked.

"My names Regis"

"Did he just talk?" Nazha asked.

"Yes he's a magic dog more should be explained in the letter to Miach I'm fine with you reading it if he is"

"Well the letter is about you so if you don't have a problem with her reading it I don't," Miach said a gentle smile on his face. I could tell he was kind. Nazha read the letter and I could see her eyes growing wider and wider.

"You're not here to cause trouble are you," Nazha asked and I could see her ears drooping

I chuckled a little at her paranoia "no I'm just here to be a hero that's all"

"That's a childish wish isn't it," she asked.

"I guess so but I made a promise to someone and I intend to keep it"

"Well, Bell we don't have a lot of room here so I'm afraid you're gonna have to sleep on the couch for the time being," Miach said.

"Oh that's fine with me but if you'll excuse me I still have one more letter to deliver," I said standing up from the chair.

"Oh, and who are you delivering it to if you don't mind me asking," Miach asked.

"Astraea. Don't know the ties gramps had with her but he wrote a letter to her for some reason" I said as I put my shirt back on.

"Well be careful Bell and you can just leave your bag by the couch if you don't want to carry it"

"Oh thanks, I will, was getting tired of hauling that thing around," I said leaving my bag where it is. "Oh, and before I leave I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone my last name my gramps told me to hide it," I said looking at both Miach and Nazha.

"Your secrets safe with us Bell just be back before it gets dark tomorrow you can register at the guild," Miach said the warm smile still on his face. I gave him my thanks then walked out the door pulling out my map in the process.

"Well that was awkward," Regis said.

"I know you know I'm not good with small talk"

"You seemed to be good at talking with Allen and Anya"

"I was seven"

"So you're saying you forgot how to talk to people"

"Guess so. Anyway, what did you think of them"

"They seem nice but I don't trust them just yet"

"Well they seem pretty trustworthy I didn't sense any deceit from Miach"

"Just keep your guard up Bell they know your secret now"

"I know I know but gramps trusted him so that has to count for something"

"Alfia wouldn't trust him"

"Alfia barely trusted us"

"Good point"

With that our conversation ended and after walking for about 10 minutes I arrived at the stardust garden. "That's a lot of flowers," Regis said. Putting the map away in my back pocket I knocked my fist on the gate to get someone's attention. Not a second later a far eastern woman with black hair and a red kimono appeared.

"Oh my aren't you a cutie can I help you," she said.

"Um y-yeah I'm here to deliver a letter to Astraea is she home," I asked completely thrown off by this woman.

"Yes she is come follow me," she said opening the gate. "Thank you," I said as Regis and I walked through the gate hearing it shit behind us.

"Hmm, where's your quiver," she asked noticing my bow. "Oh I don't have one I use mana as my arrows"

"My my that's quite impressive for a boy your age," she said putting her sleeve to her mouth.

"Uh thanks," I said nervously rubbing the back of my head. We walked in silence through the halls of their home and I could see Regis trying not to burst out laughing next to me. We then arrived at a door that was shut and the woman turned to face me.

"Now before you go inside I'll have to ask that you give me your weapons," she said her playful tone was gone and was replaced by a serious one. I complied wanting to get this over with quickly. I took the bow off my back and took my knife out of its sheath and handed it to her.

"Be careful with those they're important to me" I told her before I knocked on the door. I waited a few seconds before I heard a come-in. I opened the door and saw a beautiful woman with walnut brown hair sitting at a desk.

"Oh, and who are you child," she asked and her voice sounded like honey.

"Um uh my name is Bell and I have a letter for you," I said reaching into my pocket and taking out the letter. I then walked up to her and handed her the letter. She opened it and read it while I stood there and watched. She then put the letter down and looked at me.

"So you're related to him huh," she asked.

"Yup lucky me," I said with an unenthusiastic tone.

"So Zeus is really gone huh"

"Please don't bring that up," I asked her not wanting to relive the memories again.

"Alright Bell I won't but why would Zeus send me a letter," she asked.

I shrugged my shoulders "I don't know all I know was it was there when I was packing to come here so I delivered it"

"Well, the letter is asking me to watch over you saying you'll find yourself in trouble someday and that he wants me to be able to help you" she explained.

I rubbed the bridge of my nose and sighed. "Always the worry wort gramps. Look you don't have to I'm already in a familia so I guess that makes them my guardians" I said.

"Oh what familia are you a part of"

"The Miach familia and I have a feeling you wouldn't have let me into your familia in the first place," I told her. I know gramps asked her to look over me but something about this woman felt wrong.

"That is correct men are not allowed in my familia," she told me and I knew I was gonna have a hard time with this woman.

"Bell don't say anything," Regis said. He knew I was about to say something so I bit my tongue.

"Oh I guess this is your guardian as well," she asked.

"Yeah, he's my talking dog. Anyway, I'm gonna leave now I need to get back to Miachs" I told her heading towards the door.

"Alright well if you need anything don't be afraid to ask," her honeyed voice said. But I didn't trust it as now it felt non-sincere when we arrived outside I saw the far eastern woman standing where she was when I entered the room.

"How much of that did you hear," I asked now weary of the woman.

"None of it don't worry her office is soundproof," she told me.

"Good can I have my stuff back now," I asked? She didn't respond instead she handed me my bow and knife back. I put the knife back in its sheath and the bow back on my back.

"Well it's time for me to go can you show me back to the entrance," I asked really wanting to get out of here.

"Very well follow me," she said and started walking back to the front door. I followed her now wearier of this place. Every time we passes a corner I checked it and kept my flashbang spell at the ready. The woman most likely noticed this but she didn't say anything. When we reached the front gate I was relieved. I bid farewell to the far eastern woman whose name I never caught and left. I didn't know what level they were so I waited until I was halfway back to Miachs before I spoke.

"That place felt like a death trap," I said.

"Yeah, a goddess of justice that discriminates against men who would've thought" Regis replied.

"Would've been nice to know before stepping into a house full of women who dislike men"

"Seems we got lucky with the far eastern lady she seemed kind of playful," Regis said.

"Well let's just head home. I'll talk to Miach about his debt then go to Alfia's vault tomorrow and register at the guild while I'm at it"

"Wonder how much Alfia has stored away in there"

"Well it could be a lot she was in the Hera familia during their prime so who knows"

We walked for a few more minutes before another conversation started. "So what are we gonna do about Loki and Freya," Regis asked.

"Nothing yet I'm too weak as of right now"

"And when are you gonna visit Anya and Allen"

"Whenever I find out where they are. We just got here Regis there's no need to rush" I told him seeing the blue pharmacy in the distance.

"Well try not to be awkward with your familia when you enter"

"I can't help it Regis I grew up isolated in the mountains remember"

"I do I was there. But hey we'll work on your social skills Prince Charming"

"Don't call me that dog"

"Wolf"

"Dog"

"Wolf"

"What are you two bickering about," Miach asked.

"Oh this is just how we show our affection to each other" I answered

"By arguing," he asked raising an eyebrow.

"Would you rather I kick him"

"I'll bite you if you do"

"No no, it's alright just didn't expect you two to bicker like that"

We then sat down and ate dinner. It was a modest meal just some chicken and water but it was nice to finally eat with someone. We then saw that it was nighttime and it was time to get ready for bed.

"I'm sorry again for having you sleep on the couch Bell," Miach said.

"It's fine at least it's not the hard ground" I joked.

"Oh and if it isn't a bother would you mind helping around the shop when you're not in the dungeon," he asked.

"Yeah no problem you guys are my familia now so that means we have to help each other"

"Thank you Bell and goodnight"

"Goodnight Miach"

I then laid down on the couch with Regis laying next to me on the floor.

"So final verdict Regis"

"They're trustworthy"

And that ends chapter three no dungeon yet as I kinda want to explore Orario more as I kinda didn't do that in my other fanfic. Anyway, I hoped you enjoyed later.
