Bell POV

"Alright Bell carefully pull the string back," my grandpa said instructing me on how to use a bow. I did what he said and pulled the string back seeing the white arrow made of pure mana. "Now fire," he said and I did as ordered and let loose the arrow. It struck true and hit the deer in the heart killing it instantly.

"I did it grandpa did you see that" I cheered.

He gave me a high five "good job Bell now let's go bring it back so Alfia can cook it" grandpa said as he and I moved towards the dead deer.

I then opened my eyes and saw the familiar ceiling of Miachs shop.

"Dreaming of old times," Regis asked.

"Yeah, I guess so," I said as I sat up "what time is it," I asked yawning.

"It's about 10:00 am," Miach said. I looked to my side and saw Nazha and him eating breakfast with a third plate for me.

"Why didn't you wake me," I asked standing up and rubbing my eyes.

"Thought I'd let you sleep in some since you looked tired traveling here"

"Makes sense it did take us a few days to walk here," Regis said walking next to me and sitting at my side when I took a seat.

"So Bell what are your plans for today," Nazha asked.

"Oh, I'm planning to go and register at the guild and check my aunt's vault to see how much money she left me in there," I told her picking up a piece of bacon and giving it to Regis.

"Oh is your aunt also related to him," she asked referring to Arthur.

"No I'm actually related to him on my dad's side" I answered.

"Ah ok sorry for all the questions it's not every day you get to speak to a descendent of a hero," she said.

"Yeah, I guess it isn't" I chuckled before eating the other piece of bacon.

"So after you finish business at the guild what then," Miach asked.

"Hmm, I don't know I haven't thought about it yet. I'd assume I'd spend most of my day at the guild but if not I'll help around here a little bit before heading into the dungeon. I want to get more acquainted with my surroundings before I head down there" I explained.

"That sounds like an excellent idea Bell," Miach said.

We then continued to eat our breakfast. It was nice. It was peaceful. I like this feeling. After we finished our breakfast I put my dishes in the sink and said my goodbyes to the two before heading outside.

"Well that was nice," Regis said.

"Yeah it was wasn't it"

We continued our walk until we arrived at the guild at around 10:45 am. When we entered the guild it was quite empty because most adventurers were already in the dungeon. I walked up to the front desks and saw Eina working at them.

"Oh hello, Bell how may I help you today," she asked in her professional manner.

"I'm here to register as an adventurer and to unlock my aunt's vault that she left me the key for" I responded.

"Very we'll come with me while I get the paperwork in order," she said leading me to one of the private rooms. She opened the door and I walked in hearing her shut it behind me before hearing her footsteps walk away.

"Hey Prince Charming maybe this is the day you get lucky"

"Shut up Regis"

We sat there for a few minutes before Eina came back with the necessary paperwork. "Here you go Bell just fill out these forms and you'll be a registered adventurer. After that I can take you to the vaults and see what your aunt left you" she said taking a seat on the couch across from me.

"Thank you Eina," I said as I began to fill out the paperwork.

"You're welcome. All you need to do is fill out your name, age, and familia as well as me taking a look at your falna so I can approve what floors you can go to" she said.

"Oh she's gonna be in for quite a surprise," Regis said.

"Did your dog just talk"

"Regis you gotta stop doing that when we're with new people," I told him. "Yes my dog can talk he's a magic dog"

"That's interesting so I assume he's your bond," she asked.

"Yeah I guess you could say that"

"Wow, that's very interesting indeed. I mean I knew that bonds could communicate with their owners but I never thought I'd see one talk aloud"

I then finished the part of the form I was required to sign and handed it back to her. "Uh Bell you need to put your last name to," she said.

"Don't have one" I lied.

"Oh um ok," she said putting the paper away in the file. "Alright now I just need to take a look at your falna to see what floors you'll be cleared for and you'll be good to go," she said. I then turned around and lifted my shirt so she could see my back. Miach had covered my skill section so people wouldn't be able to see it.

"What why are your stats so high and your magic is s" she shrieked"

"Oh because I trained before I came here and I have a mana core," I told her.

"Huh what type of training did you go through? Never mind that you're cleared for the 10th floor already"

"Oh sweet hear that Regis we get to fight some orcs," I said.

"Wait you also know what's in the dungeon"

"Yeah my trainer was an adventurer so she told me what's on every floor and what to look out for"

"So I'm guessing you don't need an advisor then"

"Oh no, I'll still need one I'm new to the city after all. Wait can you be my advisor Eina cause I don't really know anyone else"

Eina cleared her throat clearly caught off guard before she spoke "y-yes I can be your advisor. You seem pretty excited Bell"

"Yeah cause this just means I'm one step closer to being a hero"

Eina just giggled at what I said before telling me to follow her to the vaults. When we arrived she asked for the serial number on the key which I read allowed and then saw her pale.

"I assume you can keep a secret right," I asked her giving her a side-eye.

"Yup I can no need to worry about me my lips are sealed" she nervously said.

"Good cause I don't want any of this information getting out alright"

She said nothing but nodded her head in agreement and led me to Alfia's vault. Seeing the room filled with vaults was kinda weird considering how much money had to be here at this very moment. Probably more money than even Alfia had ever seen. We then arrived at Alfia's vault and Eina spoke to me albeit with some hesitation in her voice.

"H-here's the v-vault is there anything e-else you need"

"No we're all good thanks Eina," I told her with a smile on my face to calm her down. She then excused herself saying she had more work to do and scurried off.

"Well good job Bell you scared the shit out of your advisor" Regis joked.

"Well let's just hope she'll keep it a secret or else we're screwed" I then put the key in the keyhole and unlocked the vault. I turned the massive dial and pulled the vault open.

"Holy fucking shit Bell come here and look at this" Regis said sounding shocked. I walked around from behind the giant door and looked inside the vault my jaw dropping as I did so. Inside the vault were stacks upon stacks of valis numbering in the thousands.

"How much do you think is in there," I said breathlessly.

"A lot"

"Wow thanks, captain obvious"

"You asked"

"We're gonna need someone to count this," I said as I flagged down a guild attendant. She was a werewolf with bright red hair and red ears. "Excuse me ma'am do you know how much is in this vault," I asked.

"Do you know whose vault this is?" she asked a nervous edge in her tone.

"Yes and I assume you do as well so I ask you to keep this a secret" I respond.

She cleared her throat before a professional tone replaced the nervous one. "Very well the total amount in the vault is four billion valis," she said.

My brain shut off and I just stood there like an idiot for a moment before Regis nudged my leg and knocked me out of my stupor. "Wow that's, that's a lot. Can I get a bag I need to withdraw some"

"Sure wait for just one moment," she said walking away.

"Well shit Prince Charming Alfia left you a lot"

"We're gonna have to talk to Miach about this"

After the werewolf came back I withdrew around two million valis and left. The walk home was quiet and neither Regis nor I knew what to say. When we arrived home I noticed that we had two visitors. One was a woman with silver hair and purple eyes and was quite beautiful. Why do all the women here look beautiful? She looked uninterested in being there. Her eyes glanced at me for a second before she quickly looked away. The next was a god I could tell because of his divinity. He looked like an old man with white hair and a white beard. He had grey eyes and was talking to Miach.

"I'm here to collect from your dusty little shop Miach," he said in a condescending tone.

"Yes hello to you to Dian I'll go get your payment," Miach said as he reached under the counter.

"Hey, Miach how much did the arm cost again," I asked walking in the door.

"Oh, and who is this a new child Miach it's a wonder you have one with how deep in debt you are," Dian said.

I gave him an uninterested side eye before facing Miach again. "Anyway how much was it again"

"Well it initially cost five million but with the monthly payments adding up over the years we have about 1.5 million left," he said.

I then took 500,000 valis out of the bag and put it in a pouch before tossing the bag at Dian. He fumbled with it a little but he didn't drop it. "In there is 1.5 million valis. There the debts paid off now you'll stop harassing Miach got it" The god checked inside the bag before closing it.

"Very well young man you have a deal so long Miach" Dian said as he and the woman walked out of the shop.

"Bell thank you so much I don't know what to say," Miach said.

"It's fine I told you I'd pay off the debt just didn't expect it to be so soon," I told him.

"Was that from your aunt's vault?" he asked.

"Yeah, that's what I wanted to talk to you about" I answered. I then explained how much money was in the vault and Miachs eyes widened but he didn't interrupt.

"So she had that much money," he said leaning back in his chair.

"Yeah and I don't know what to do with it. I mean I'm gonna use some of it to help you in your shop but I don't really want to use the rest of it for me. I don't want to feel like I cheated my way to my dream using her fortune" I explained.

"Well how about you just leave the money in there and use it in an emergency? That way it's not sitting around collecting dust but you also won't have to use it" Miach said giving me a solution.

"That actually sounds like a good idea" I then put the pouch of the 500,000 valis I had taken out of the bag and slid it to Miach. "I also want to invest in your shop seeing as I live here now"

"Oh Bell you don't have to do that," Miach said trying to slide the pouch back but I stopped him.

"No, I insist since you no longer have a debt you may have more familia members joining so you can use that for expansion or whatever else the shop needs"

"Thank you Bell you are very kind," Miach said finally taking the money.

"Yeah, you can also buy a dog bed for Regis as well" I joked. Miach laughed while Regis gave a protest.

"I don't need a doggy bed the floor is fine"

"Yet you enjoyed your old one back at the cabin"

"Shut up it was comfy," Regis said and I was pretty sure he was pouting.

"Are you pouting Regis"

"I will bite you brat"

"Alright alright I'll stop"

"Oh Bell I've been meaning to ask but how did your visit to Astraea go," Miach asked.

"I don't trust her or anyone in her familia," I told him.

"Oh why is that," he asked.

"Because she discriminated against men. I don't trust anyone who discriminates on something that someone can't control"

"Huh, I see. Yeah most gods see her ways as well how can I put this"

"Fucking stupid," Regis asked.

"Yes, but in a nicer tone," Miach replied.

"I just don't get people like that"

"So I won't send you on any deliveries to her house then alright," Miach said.

"Thank nearly bolted down the street as soon as I got out of there"

"What are you scared of girls" Regis joked.

"What no. There women who hate men and they just so happened to be high-level adventurers and you were scared to Regis"

"Was not"

"Was to"

"Was not"

"Boys stop bickering lunch is ready," Nazha said entering where we were and setting plates down on the table. "Thank you Nazha," Miach said smiling at her and I could see her tail start to wag happily.

Regis and I looked at each other before we looked back at the two. "Oh Nazha good news Bell paid off our debt," Miach said. Nazha whorled around and stared at me wide-eyed. "D-did you really," she asked.

"Yeah aunt left me quite a lot of money," I told her and then told her about the conversation I just had with Miach. She started to tear up a little bit.

"Can I hug you?" she asked and I agreed. She practically launched herself from her chair and nearly tackled me. Her grip was tight and it felt like she was crushing me but I could tell she was really happy. After a while, she let go and rubbed her eyes.

"I'm sorry about that it's just things have been hard ever since we went into debt and then you come along and clear it then put money into our little shop just thank you," she said.

"It's no problem you needed help and I helped"

"Just like a hero," I thought.

The rest of the day went by quickly and before we knew it dinner had already been eaten and it was time for bed. "Well goodnight Bell I'll use the money you gave us and make some expansions so you'll have a room soon," he said.

"Thanks, Miach," I told him before lying down on the couch.

"So dungeon tomorrow," Regis asked.

"Yup"

This ends chapter four hope you enjoyed the more characterization I put into this cause with the other one I feel like I didn't flesh the characters out enough. The next chapter is the dungeon so yay combat writing. (I suck at writing fight scenes)
