CH 7

The next day Mike and Kate met up at the jewelry store to sort out their wedding rings then went to get their marriage licence and had lunch together before Mike returned back to NAVCOM and Kate went to get her wedding dress and head to the hotel that was booked a month ago.

That night Mike and Kate went out to dinner then headed to the hotel where he dropped her off before heading home alone that night. The next day both Mike and Kate had a busy day. Mike met his four groomsmen for breakfast at a cafe then they went to play a round of golf.

Then they went to have lunch and then went to have their hair cut. They all met up at the charge house since he was one of the groomsmen. They all had showers and got dressed in their uniforms. They talk and laugh while giving Mike tips on how to keep Kate happy.

When it was time they all left in cars and headed to the colonial club Resort where the wedding and reception is being held. When they arrived Mike greated the one hundred and eighty guests till it was time. He and his groomsmen walk up to the front where the navy minister is and wait for Kate.

When Kate woke up she got up and dressed then she met her bridesmaids down stairs at the hotel restaurant for breakfast. then they all went to the day spa where they were getting pampered. When they finished there they went to the hairdresser to get their hair and make up done. they all return back to the hotel with their bridesmaid dresses.

Once in the room Kate phone orders for light lunch since it was after one. They all talked and laughed till their lunches arrived. After their light lunch they all help each other to get dressed. Then they help Kate to get dressed. once she dresses. they look at her

"wow Kate you look beautiful in your dress"

"thanks nikki, our limos should be here soon we better get going"

"Great idea," Bomber said. they picked up their bouquets then left the room.

they all walk towards the elevator. Few minutes later they are all in two limos heading to the resort. When they arrived, they all got out and walked towards where the wedding was being held. When they arrived Sally was there with Chole and Mike Niece and two nephews who were dressed.

"Kate you look amazing"

"thanks Sally." Sally went ahead and gave the minster a nod. Then he gave the DJ a nood then the music started.

Everyone watches as Chole and Mike's nephew walk down the aisle side by side. Chloe was throwing red and white rose petals everywhere. then the second flower girl and page boy follow behind with the flower girl doing the same. the boy was holding onto the cushion that got the rings on them.

The boys were wearing sailor suits and the girls were wearing full length dresses with red sash around the middle and bow at the back. They wear red and white wreaths as their headpiece and wear an anchor yellow gold necklace. When they reach the front. They walked over and sat down next to family and friends.

then it was the four bridesmaids. They are wearing a red spaghetti strap with scoop neckline dress that flows down to an A line skirt. they all wear pearl necklace and Kate matron of honor wearing pearl earring. there wearing red and white crystal and rhinestone headpiece and carrying red and white roses. when they reach the front. every one stood up as Kate started to walk down the astlie.

When Mike saw her, his smile got even wider. Kate is wearing an ivory strapless lace dress that flows down to a princess skirt. She is wearing crystal and rhinestone teria and double vail. She was wearing a double strand of pearls and earrings and carrying a bouquet of white roses.

When she reached the front she held onto Mike's hand while looking at him "Beautiful" he whispered.

he looks her over while the minister talks. One thing Mike noticed is the anchors on the dress which made his smile get even wider. Everyone watches them as they say their wedding vows and exchange of wedding rings. At the end everyone cheered and the wolf whistled when they kissed and Mike dipped her in front of everyone. When they straighten up and break apart they turn to every one with smiles on their faces.

"It's given me the pleasure of introducing to you all Mr and Mrs Mike and Kate Flynn and it about time" causing everyone to laugh and Mike and Kate turn to the grinning minister in shock.

Mike shook his head at him then turned to Kate "shall we Mrs Flynn" he put his elbow out and she looped her arm through his and her bridesmaid passed her bouquet back then they started walking down the aisle till they reached the end when two sailors formed an arch with their swords.

when Mike and Kate walked under it one lowered his sword and wack Kate backside yelling out "go navy" Mike and Kate walked over to a spoke where guests could walk over to congratulate them then moved on.

Half an hour later they and the bridal party walk over to different spots where they were getting their photos taken. When finished they walk over to the outside where they all mix and mingle while enjoying drinks and horderves while music is playing in the background for a couple of hours.

then they all walked inside and sat down for their evening meal, speeches and dancing. Everyone enjoyed themselves during the night. when Mike and Kate were dancing to a slow song.

Mike learn ford and whisper in her ear "Let's get out of here before the limo show up, knowing the crew they might decorate it"

"good idea, but after this dance"

"Ok" he moved back so he could look at her and then kiss her.

When the song finished Kate went to the ladies room while Mike walked over to where his family are and talked to them for a minute before he walked towards the exit while everyone was having fun. Kate was waiting for him outside when their limo showed up.

Once they were in the limo left heading back to their hotel room for the night. When they walked into their room it was after two in the morning. They both hug and kiss as they help each other out of their clothes and lay on their bed where they made passionate love before falling asleep in each other's arms.

Few hours later after they had breakfast they both shower together and made love while there. Afterwards once they were dressed and their bags were packed they left their room and walked down to the front counter where Mike paid the bill then they left in a taxi for home.

when they got there. they sorted out their bags. Then Mike called for a taxi to take them to the airport. While waiting he pulled Kate into his arms and kissed her.

"finally ten days of no navy, no crash sail"

"no wacky wacky calls in the morning, bigger bed and waking up with the man that i love in my arms"

"Same here Kate" they kiss till they heard the taxi show up

"shall we Mrs flynn" he said smiling

"Yes Mr Flynn." They pick their bags up and walk out the door after the alarm has been activated.

They enjoyed their honeymoon and wished they could stay longer but Hammersley was due to set sail the day after they arrived home. When they arrived home they sorted out their bags, then went to the supermarket to buy food for the house and toiletries that Kate would need on Hammersley.

When they return home Mike cooks dinner while Kate sorted out her sea bag and uniform. Then she checked their messages, Mike heard them as Kate played them on the speaker phone. they mainly from the crew which made them laugh. they had an early night since Kate got to be on Hammersley at eight in the morning.

The next morning the crew welcome her back and ask about her honeymoon. "mike and i had a wonderful time"

"that great X but are you going to change your name" bird asked

"yes once the paperwork has gone through. so by the time we return Mike will have every thing for me"

"that great X" Grant said.

The crew was away for a six week patrol. Mike and Kate keep in contact with each other during that time. When they did return Mike was waiting on the wharf when Hammersley dock. he walk up onto the ship when Kate went to greet him

"mike" they hug and kiss

"Miss you" mike said

"miss you to"

"Here i brought you your new name tags"

"Follow me, sailor," she said smiling.

Mike smiles as he follows Kate down and into her cabin where she changes her top, her dog tags, ID badge and name tag. Once it was all done and Kate was changed, they left together saying their goodbye to the crew since they got three nights off.

Mike and Kate enjoyed their shore leave before Hammersley set sail with Kate wearing a new top with name on it which made the crew grin. Two months later the Hammersley crew stopped a terrorist attack on australian soil. Swain, Kate and Jim risk their lives by disabling a dirty bomb.

They were able to get into the HRIB with the two cases and that halfty was driving close behind them and turned around and headed back to Hammersley with twenty seconds left since the boat was still heading out to sea when it exploded.

Dutchy arrested Madeline since she was playing both sides. When Hammersley returned to port Maxine and Mike were waiting on the wharf. When they walked onto Hammersley Kate went to greet them with a salute and it was the first time in weeks since Kate last saw Maxine.

She was shocked when she saw Kate's name tag but Kate didn't care cause she was looking at Mike who stepped forward and pulled her into a hug then kissed her.

"RO told me what you, Swain and jim did Kate, i'm proud of you"

"thanks Mike" then he kissed her once more.

Then some of the crew showed up when the ASCIO agents showed up. Swain and Dutchy walk Madeline on to the boat deck then onto the wharf where she was handed over to the two men then they return back to Hammersley and greet Mike. they talk for a few minutes when Jim showed up, he walk over and shake Mike hand

"It good to see you Mike"

"you to Jim" jim look at Kate then to mike

"you look after her mate"

"We will look after each other" Kate said

"I know you will Kate, you know where your heart is"

"Yes i do, with Mike"

"My heart is with kate, she will always come first in my books"

"that good to know, take care, both of you"

"You to Jim," Kate said, steeping Ford giving him a hug then stepping back to Mike's side.

"and congratulation on your wedding, crew told me about it"

"thanks Jim." Jim saluted them then said goodbye to the crew before walking off Hammersley when an army jeep showed up. Mike turns to Maxine.

"Maxine my heart isn't with the navy, it is with Kate. you may think you know me but your dont. Navy isn't my life, Kate is and don't you forget it" he turned to Kate.

"Tell me what happened on your way to your cabin Kate" she smiled

"Why not, i already filled out my report and sent it to NAVCOM"

"OK" they walk towards the hatch talking.

"they sure look happy commander" dutchy said

"Navy will always be mike life"

"You heard what he said and I know about what you try to do to them, you plan to fail as commander said and you will have no friends on this ship or any one while here in Cairns once word gets around about what you are trying to do. Both commander Flynn and X got the most respect from others captains and crew here in cairns. don't you forget that ma'am" he assaulted her then walked towards the hatch himself.

Two weeks later admiral of the fleet and commoador from fleet command plus all the officers and senior sailors from other patrol boats plus other guests were all together with the Hammersley crew and the SAS when the admiral of the fleet present the cross of valour to Swain, jim and Kate for risking their lives in disabling the dirty bomb and the crew received commendation in helping to stop the teairest attack on australian soil.

Afterwards everyone was invited around to Mike and Kate's new house since they finally found out about where they live and Mike's house was sold two months after it was up for sale. With his money he put in a swimming pool and a spa pool and outdoor entertainment area.

The crew love the house and know where to come for any parties in the future. Swain reveals to everyone that Sally is three months pregnant which the crew cheer and gave him a hard time about it.

Two months later Kate learns that she is pregnant and was granted shore posting so she could spend more time with Mike who she misses while out on patrol.

Three and half months later Swain was with Sally when she gave birth to their son. When the crew heard the happy news they showed up when Hammersley dock with balloons saying 'it a boy' flowers and even a sailor teddy bear.

Three months later everyone on hammersley heard "Now here this captain speaking, it gives me the pleasure to announce the safe arrival of Connor Mike McGregor Flynn at seven twenty two this morning weight in seven pounds eleven ounces. both mother, father and son are doing well, that is all" they crew cheered throughout the ship.

When the crew returned three weeks later there was a party at Mike and Kate place plus they got to meet Connor whom they learn is named after Kate's late father's name. Two months later Kate was promoted to lieutenant commander which made both her and Mike happy. they went on to have three more children.

Maxine transferred to another posting when Kate was six months pregnant with Connor after Kate and Mike learned that Ryan white is Mike's son. They found out from a letter that Stewart's lawyer passed on to Mike and Ryan a year after his death but told no one about it. Ryan was shocked with what he learned and Kate spoke to him.

He talked to Mike about that night he was conceived, he was angry with his mother for what she did to Stewart and to Mike. then relies on why she tried to break Mike and Kate up and that she knew that Mike was his father. Because of what happened it brought Mike and Ryan closer and he got a chance to spend more time with his half brothers and sisters. Plus Mike gave him advice when it comes to love since he was interested in Bird. With the advice Ryan took it to heart and he and bird got married two years later after Connor's birth.

Maxine didn't show up to her son's wedding. Mike and Kate enjoy spending time with their family and friends and most important thing is where their heart is.
