Hey Folks. First time fic writer here. I've been stewing over this story for a while and wanted to finally bring it to life.

It'll be rough for sure. I'm not a fantastic writer but I'm hoping to improve.

Thank for checking this out.

She watched from the roof of the building she was on as her target turned into the alleyway, phone pressed to his ear as he yelled loudly into it.

"I'm telling you. I'm away for business" He shouted, gesturing wildly, as if the person on the other end could see him.

"I did tell you. Not my fault all that fat blocks your ears and you can't hear properly" The man was clearly livid at whoever he was talking to. She rested her head on her chin, her feet lazily swinging over the side of the building she had been sitting on for the past two hours waiting for him. What was another five minutes to let him finish this conversation, not like he'll remember it anyway. On account of him being dead.

"I'm not seeing anyone, you know you're the only one for me honey" His voice turned sickly sweet so fast she thought she was gonna get whiplash.

"I'll be home in two days, say night to Makino for me, tell her daddy misses her already" Oh it was his wife he was talking to, she didn't need to wait for him to finish then.

She jumped off the side of the building, using the support boots she had on she slowed her descent until she hit the ground, coming down with a thud that alerted her target to her presence.

He turned to look at her but she didn't give him a chance to say or do anything, charging into him and landing a punch to his jaw he dropped backwards, dropping his phone in the process.

She picked the phone up and held it to her ear "Hey Mrs Shuji. I'm gonna do my job now, I'll let you know when I'm done" She heard an affirmative noise from the other end of the phone and she hung up the call.

She stalked over, falling into the familiar flow of her job, she grabbed the collar of his shirt, bringing her fist up he gasped in fear "Wait please. I'll give you anything you want" He started, hand flying to his pocket, probably to grab for his wallet

She used the opening his hand being away from his face gave her and slammed her fist into his face, breaking his nose on contact.

A few minutes of punching went by and the man below her pleaded with her the whole time. Begged for his life. His pleas fell on deaf ears. She was too zoned out to notice. He brought his hands up as another punched rocketed towards his face. The sickening crunch of his jaw breaking gave her life, it gave her purpose.

He groaned as she brought her fist back again, his strength fading with each blow. His name was Shuji Shiba. He was a salaryman from Tokyo, here in Musutafu to see his affair partner. She had been contracted by his wife because the man was an abusive drunk, he had beat her to near death while she was pregnant with their second child and often laid hands on their thirteen year old daughter, both physically and sexually.

This type of job was the easiest, the ones were the person she has to kill is a rotten piece of shit that is nothing but a blight on society. Not that she was any better, she killed people a lot more innocent than the man under her, all for a paycheck.

With one final blow his breathing came to a halt and he fell limp. She stopped punching and watched him, making sure he wasn't just knocked out. His blood dripped off her knuckles and hit the ground next to them, the drops seemed so loud in the quiet din of the alley.

Certain he was dead she let go of his collar and he dropped. Wiping her bandaged wrists across her face to get the blood off her cheek she picked his phone back up, thankful he didn't have a passcode on his phone.

She went to the recent calls list and clicked on the contact named "Wife(cunt)" She'll admit she chuckled a little at that, clicking on the contact she waited for it to be answered.

After a minute of ringing the line went silent, meaning the call answered "Mrs Shuji the job is done. He won't be bothering you or your family ever again" A sob was the first thing she heard before a strangled voice came through.

"Thank you. Thank you so much. You've saved my family from his torment" Save isn't the word she'd use. She had taken a life to do so, no matter who rotten and twisted the life was, it was still another human.

"You're like a hero. To me at least" Her eyes widened a little in shock A hero huh? She thought Wouldn't that be nice

"No problem, just wire me the money and we'll be squared away. Remember" She warned "I know where you live" She chuckled before hanging up.

Staring ahead for a second before smacking her hand to her forehead "Ahh crap, she probably didn't find that very funny. Sounded a lot more like a threat than I meant" She cursed to herself, hoping she hadn't actually scared the woman.

She cast her gaze down, mind still lingering one the womans words. Wonder what life would have been like if things turned out different. She scoffed at her own thoughts, as if someone fucked up like her could do anything other than be a villain.

Considering her parents she theoretically had all the reasons to believe she could have had a successful life as a pro hero. Well, except one blaring issue.

A buzz from her own phone caught her attention. The screen displayed "300,000 yen from anonymous" She smiled for a moment but then read the notification she hadn't felt come through during the beating.

1 new message from Liam.

The old steel door creaked open as she put her weight on it, the hinges protesting loudly. She wishes for the hundredth time they would oil the damn thing.

She swung the door closed behind her as she made the familiar trip down the steps. The bleak grey walls plastered with all sorts of poster. Some bounty posters for villains, some were band poster and the others were a miscellaneous mix of random crap.

The music growing louder the closer she got to the night club. She got to the bottom of the steps and turned round the corner. She groaned at the sight in front of her.

Mako, a tall broad shouldered man stood next to the door, his large frame and general grumpy demeanor making him the best suitable person to be the bouncer. He also didn't like her, not one bit.

"Well look what the piss stained, flea ridden cat dragged in" He snarled, fixing her his best glare. She rolled her eyes and stuffed her hands in her pockets, hiding the blood she hadn't bothered cleaning off her hands. She glanced up and had to supress the want to laugh at his hair. His short balding hair spiked up in order to make him seem less bald than he actually was.

"Hey Mako" She greeted happily, knowing it would piss him off more "You been working out? Your arms look bigger than usual" He glared harder at her, something she didn't know was possible, as he moved his two prosthetic arms, the mechanical gears clunking and grinding "Hmm" She started before smirking up at him "Guess not"

"You fucking bitch" He looked like he wanted to strangle her, something he could easily do if he wanted to considering the size and weight difference.

"Yea yea. Save me anymore insults. I'm here to see Liam" She said and he just muttered something under his breathe before moving to the side, swinging open the clubs door for her. She knew he knew that he couldn't argue against that, Liam had made that point very clear the last time Mako tried to stop her from entering.

She walked through, shooting him a wink, he just glared back at her. Once in she looked around. Jesus, this place is even more of a shithole than it was before She thought to herself, the loud music blaring out of the tower speakers situated around the large room. The once pristine clean floors were littered with spilled drinks and some broken glass. The once white walls of the place were yellowing, probably because Liam allows smoking inside his club.

No matter her thoughts on the place, or it's level of cleanliness, there was no doubt about how Liams business was booming. The place was more packed than she had ever seen it. The dance floor was packed full of hot, sweaty bodies rubbing against each other as they all moved in time with the music, seemingly unbothered by the tight proximity to other people.

She weaved through the crowd as she made her way over to the V.I.P section. She glanced around, noticing the increased security around the club, more than double the amount of bouncers than when she was last here were standing in various corners, all robotically surveying the patrons with a steely gaze.

She walked up the steps to the V.I.P section, where Liam was undoubtedly waiting for her. Liam was her best client, gave her actually challenging jobs and paid her well, often paying before she does the job. Guess he's confident enough in her ability.

"Karina" Liam said as she reached the top of the stairs "How's my favourite assassin for hire?" She couldn't help but smile at him. He might be one of the biggest pieces of shit she knew but he had been a close friend for a long time.

Liam was lounged back on a large red sofa. Sunglasses as usual on his face, a Hawaiian shirt on but left unbuttoned and a pair of black denim shorts with sandals on his feet. His blonde hair was slicked back and he was surrounded on all sides by at least 4 girls, all doing something different for him.

The first girl was massaging his shoulders, clearly working good spot judging by the satisfied look on his face, or maybe that had to do with the second girl who was knelt on the floor in-between his legs, doing something she didn't even want to think about. The third girl was merely sitting next to him, leaning into him while his arm was draped over her, she looked unsure where to look considering how close she was to the girl on her knees. The fourth girl was standing next to the first girl and was fanning him with a big leaf fan. All four of them were in tiny bikins that barely covered anything.

She ignored the girls as best she could, what he done in his spare time was up to him.

"Liam, been a while. Good to see this shithole is still up and running" He barked out a laugh at that "Trust me" He started, motioning to the girl sitting next to him to grab some glasses and generous amounts of alcohol she'd presume "I'm just as surprised as you are babes" He took the glass from the girl and let her pour him some.

Karina took the offered glass and nodded a thanks at the girl. She was young, probably not even in her twenties. She noted the swollen cheek and the start of what would be a black eye. But past that the girl was gorgeous, long dark purple hair that reached down to her lower back, her bangs framed her soft features in a way that drew attention to her eyes, which were a deep red colour.

The girl shoot her a pleading look before turning away from her. Shit Karina thought.

She focused on why she was here, putting the girl to the back of her mind. Whatever her situation was it wasn't a concern of hers.

"So what's the job you've got for me?" She took a swig off the drink and had to stop herself from just throwing it up "Fuck Liam how strong is this stuff? Feels like drinking straight magma" He laughed again, whispering something to the girl on her knees, she finished her...business, then sorted him out, fiddling with his shorts, he stood up without anything long and fleshy rudely pointing at her.

He walked over to the table in the corner of the room and grabbed a bottle, he showed her when he got over to her.

"90% alcohol content baby" He cheered then downed the glass he had. He's somehow more batshit than he used to be.

"Good job tonight girls" Said as he turned back to the four girls and grabbed a bottle form his pocket. She watched him get two small pills out of it then tossed them over to the girls.

She watched in shock as two of the girls went feral over these pills, clambering over the sofa and each other to get one. One of them going so far as to yank the other by the hair to stop her from getting one. The other two girls just forced themselves to stare away from them, their gazes hard yet fearful.

"What did you just give them?" Karina asked, her voice nothing more than a whisper

"My own special creation" He chuckled, shaking the bottle to let the pills rattle around "Want one?"

"Fuck off" Things connected in her head "Ah, that's why business is doing so well, right?" She said as she glanced out to the dance floor, noticing now the dazed look on almost all the patrons there. He just raised his brows and shrugged "What can I say, people love it"

"Answer me one thing" She turned to him and he gave her his full attention.

"Those girls, did they willingly take those pills the first time?"

"Oh yea of course" He assured her "Well" He continued "They willingly drank the alcohol which they didn't know had the pills dissolved into them" He looked back at the girls, a look which could be mistaken for fondness in his eyes "Same thing though right?" He chuckled.

She bristled, he's been keeping these girls here loyal to him by being their source of what she could assume was a highly addictive drug. She glared at him, trying to find anything of the kind hearted thug she had met 7 years ago, the one that ran to the rescue of someone who was being wronged. Yea he was a villain just like her but he had a moral code. That's the main reason she worked with him so much.

"Anyway about that jo-" He was cut off by her fist connecting with his jaw, the force threw him back as he slammed into the far wall from her.

All of the bouncers immediately started to move towards her, rushing over to help their boss.

Karina walked over to Liam and grabbed him by the hair, yanking him up to her eye level "What the hell happened to you?" She snarled the question, hurt lacing through her voice.

"Just business sweet heart" He chuckled out

Flipping out the way of the fist aimed for the side of her head she connected her foot to Liams jaw, slamming his head into the wall behind him, knocking him out cold.

Bouncing to her feet she counted at least six dudes, all of which were over six feet tall, one of them being a heteromorphic type quirk user.

She gave the others quick glances. None of them seemed to be quirk users, at least from what she could tell. None of them seemed to be carrying weapons either, Liam never did like having weapons in his club.

The first guy dashed at her and swung a fist at her face, she ducked under it and flashed two lightning-fast jabs into his gut. He lurched forward and she dipped under his hunched form to avoid the punch from another one of the bouncers, she shot a punch into the hunched guys face and it met the second mans punch, his face being squished between two fists.

Using the distraction from him punching his friend she dashed at the second guy, the first of the heteromorphic types, a large man who had fur and large tusks reminiscent of a boar. She jumped and slammed her fist into his nose, shifting her weight back as another one of them grabbed for her neck.

Planting her hands on the ground she spun and landed a powerful kick to both of the mens heads. The one that attempted to grab her immediately dropped, but the large boar man recovered quickly and grabbed her leg, spinning her around her slammed her into the table in front of him.

The pain that erupted from her back shattering the glass table was excruciating, she could definitely feel glass shards stuck in her back.

Before she could recover the boar man slammed a large fist into her gut. She groaned but countered back with her own fist hitting him in the ribs, she felt a crack, unsure whether it was her fingers or his ribs.

Judging by his wail of pain she assumed it was his ribs, she glanced down at her hand, noticing the bruising around her fingers. Or both, both works.

She jumped to her feet, bringing a shard of the glass table with her. She rushed forward, slicing the boar across his throat while he was still distracted by his sore ribs. He dropped onto his side, hand clasping at his profusely bleeding throat as he gurgled and spluttered.

"Three down" She glanced at the three left in front of her, two of them looked unsure of what to do, looking smaller and maybe younger than the other bouncers. She lunged forward and those same two immediately bolted for the door.

She reached the last one, his fists coming up into a boxers stance Great. A competent fighter. She thought to herself.

Swinging at him he ducked to the side and slammed a fist roughly into her gut, grunting she backstepped the follow-up punch aimed for her jaw. She backed up but not wanting to give her time to recover he followed. She grinned.

Aiming a punch for her gut again she let it connect then grabbed his wrist, wrenching it up and twisting so his body had to follow she planted a foot to the back of his knee, forcing him down onto his knees. Knowing she was gonna try and snap his neck he rolled forward, hooking his legs on the back of her thighs she had no choice but to follow.

The suddenness of being flung forward made her loosen her grip enough for him to slip out, she rolled to her feet and turned to face him.

Bringing her fists up to mimic his earlier stance he dashes at her again. Blocking the punch aimed for her cheek she grinned, knowing how to finish this fight.

Pushing his arm away she landed two punches to his gut, ducking under another swing she rocked a punch across his jaw, following the same arm through she slams her elbow into his nose, sending him sprawling to the ground. But before he got away from her she grabbed the collar of his shirt and slammed her knee into his gut which caused him to lurch forward, she landed an uppercut to his jaw that sent him a couple feet in the air, slamming roughly to the ground out cold.

She breathed heavy, glad it was finally over and especially glad that these guys didn't seem to have quirks, at least not quirks that were suited for combat considering they didn't use them against her.

A gun shot rang out and she dropped, clutching her side as white hot agony shot through her. She looked over her shoulder, Liam pointed a gun at her, the barrel smoking slightly.

"Still here, dipshit" He said, smile on his face while rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. Mako appeared to his side and walked over to her, roughly picking her up and putting her in a headlock, the metal of his arm cutting into her neck as she was lifted off the ground due to his size. She was forced to look at Liam as he smirked smugly at her.

"All this fuss over some stupid bitches?" She glanced over at the four girls that were all cowering in the corner. The two that had taken those pills he gave them wrapped protectively in the arms of the other two, although they looked completely out of it.

"Why the hell do you care about them so much huh? You don't know them, you shouldn't care about them" He shook his head in disbelief "Or does little miss emotionless murderer actually have emotions after all?" He scoffed at that.

To be honest she wasn't sure why she cared, she's never cared this much about other people before. But when that girl looked at her, with those red pleading eyes, she knew she had to do something.

It's stupid, she's been in this line of work for almost a decade now and now is the time she decides to start caring about others? It was ridiculous. And quite frankly rude of herself, it's gonna make it really annoying to do her job going forward. If she survived this situation that is.

"They're just dumb broads who walked in off the street. No where to go and no aspirations in life. But I gave them a purpose" He continued

"What like sucking your gross dick?" She fired back, a smirk of her own pulling at her lips

"Hey, I've been told I have a very nice-looking dick, alright?" He said defensively

"Who told you that? Your mommy?" She snickered at the look he gave her.

"What are we? ten year olds playing Halo on xbox 360?" He scoffed "But no it was your mum last night actually" He laughed and went to give Mako a high five who just looked confused at him.

"No? You never...? Okay never mind" He coughed into his hand "Anyway I think we're done here right?" He nodded to himself as if agreeing with himself that they were in fact done here.

Liam nodded at Mako and he leaned down to whisper in her ear "I'm gonna enjoy this" she could here the sneer in his voice.

Pain exploded from her back. Mako had stabbed her. She screamed in pain but steeled her resolve. She had her way out now.

Swinging her leg back, the back of her heel made contact with his balls and he immediately loosened his hold on her in surprise. While he groaned in pain she wrenched his arm away from her and threw an elbow back into his nose, getting her feet on the ground she spun and grabbed the hand that had the knife and thrust up, thrusting the knife still in Makos hand into his own throat.

Yanking the knife from his hands she immediately hit the deck, the gun she suspected to be aimed at the back of her head going off moments later, the shot hitting Mako square in-between the eyes.

Jumping up she slashed the knife across Liams wrist. The gun was dropped and he grabbed his wrist with a grunt of pain. She pointed the knife at him and he gave her a smirk.

"Look. How bout you just take those girls since they mean so much to ya? We can just let bygones be bygones yea?" He said, his face twisting in pain.

She should kill him, she knew she should. But damn was she finding it hard to get herself to do it. As much of a piece of shit as he was he was still a long-time friend. One that had helped her when she needed it most.

And besides, who the hell was she to pass judgment for stuff when she's probably worse than him? At least he doesn't murder innocent people. She's a damned hypocrite if she thinks she can do this for someone doing something bad.

She sighed and gestured with her head for him to get out of here. He took it and ran off, running through a door labeled as private.

She groaned and fell to her knees, clutching at her back, where Mako had stabbed her. Thankfully he seemed to have missed all vital organs.

She felt a hand touch her shoulder and she jumped, brandishing the knife in a panic. One of the girls stared back at her, her eyes wide in fear. Karina relaxed and dropped the knife "Sorry, sorry" She muttered.

"Why did you help us?" Karina chuckled to herself. Good question, one she knows she doesn't have an answer to.

"Dunno. Seeing how you girls were treated just really pissed me off for some reason" She gave as a response.

"Are you a hero?"

"No. Definitely not" She answered back, she was starting to feel light headed, probably from the blood loss. Which she should probably do something about.

"Well you are to us" Yet another person referring to her as a hero today. Is everyone stupid today?

No the stupid one is her and how being called a hero was making her stomache do flips. She's not a hero and she never will be. She squashed that happy feeling with a healthy douse of reality.

"Look. Just get yourselves out of here. Take your two friends to hospital. They're gonna need to help with whatever was in those drugs he gave them" The girl nodded and went back over to her friends in the corner.

She watched the four girls leave out the front door and chuckled to herself. Man she really messed things up, first she ruined her relationship with her best client and now she was probably gonna bleed out.

Distant voices could be hears and she could have sworn she heard the girl she spoke to moments before shouting something then in through the front door came people in tight brightly coloured leotards.

Fuck She thought to herself as she slipped into unconsciousness.

The heroes had arrived.

That's the first chapter. A bit action packed I know, not all the chapters will have action but writing out action scenes is what I enjoy most so bare with me please.

Please give any feedback you might have.
