Clone AU
"Thorn!" Bloom shouts as she storms into the room that she now shares with two other girls. "I've had enough of you taking my stuff!"
As soon as she walks through the door, the Fairy of the Dragon Flame is met with a near copy of herself. Only, the other's hair is messier with yellow eyes. This replica also opts for darker blue clothing as opposed to Bloom's usual light blue attire.
The replica smirks. "Technically, I'm you. So, your stuff is also mine."
"You know that's not how it works, Thorn. Mike and Vanessa even gave you some things of your own."
At this, the replica just shrugs. "That was really kind of our parents."
"They're not your parents!" Bloom snaps. "They're mine. You don't have parents. Remember?"
Thorn's smirk becomes a scowl. "Rub it in, why don't you! Sorry that I wasn't born like you!"
"I'm just sorry that you even exist!"
The replica's hands ignite with fire. But rather than throwing the spell at Bloom, it chose to hit the bed instead.
Bloom reaches a hand to her clone. "Thorn, I…"
"Whatever!" Thorn shrugs it off. "I'm out of here," with that, the other Bloom leaves the room.
Flora, who had been shielding one of her plants as this is not the first time the two Blooms got into an argument. "Bloom," the Nature Fairy calls out her roommate. "I know that she is technically an evil you but wasn't that a little harsh?"
The Fire Fairy briefly glances at Flora before turning back to the door. She knows that her roommate is right.
.oOo.
Thorn is just wandering down the street of Magix. Any citizen that passes by gives the Winx Replica a wide berth seeing that she's wearing a permanent snarl.
"Stupid Bloom, stupid Winx, stupid Alfea," she mumbles to herself until she runs into someone. "Watch it!" Thorn snaps and then she got a look at who she ran into. "Been awhile, Pretty Boy."
"Uh…" Sky is still unsure how to react to this doppelganger of his girlfriend. "Hey, uh, Dark Bloom."
At that, the clone starts laughing. "Dark Bloom? Is that what you guys were calling me?" she eventually calms down. "Just call me Thorn."
"Thorn?"
Thorn smirks, "Yeah. Because even a blooming rose has its thorns. It was Stella's idea," she then mumbles, "Who'd a thought that blonde would come up with something decent."
"That makes sense, I guess," the Prince hesitantly looks away. "So, how are things going? I'm sure Bloom is doing her best to make you feel welcome."
Hearing her better half's name puts Thorn in a sour mood once again. "I'm done talking," she starts walking away.
"Hey, uh, Thorn," Sky goes to follow her. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong. Not that you'd know if there was."
"I do know. 'Cause just like Bloom you—"
The clone turns to snap at the Specialist. "Listen here, your highness! I may look and sound like Bloom but know this. I'm not your girl! Got it!"
The boy stood there staring for a moment, trying to choose his words carefully. "I know that you're not her. The two of you are just too different. But you do happen to share the same tell whenever something's bothering you." The girl's silence was all Sky needed. "I know that it's not your thing but maybe talking to someone will help."
"Like who? My better half's boyfriend?" she huffs. "Yeah, right!"
"It doesn't have to be me. I was just offering," Sky turns to walk away.
Thorn turns away, intending to leave things as they are. She then sighs and turns back to the way where the prince was departing and lets out an irritated growl. "Hey, Pretty Boy!"
.oOo.
The two now sit on a bench in the park.
"It hurts, you know," Thorn says. "Knowing that I'm not real."
Sky only glanced at the duplicate. "You seem pretty real to me."
The replica could only roll her eyes. "Like you mean that. I was created by some left over dark magic. Born from the corruption in Bloom's heart. If Darkar never interfered then I'd never exist. In fact! I should have faded away the moment my better self defeated him with the rest of the Winx."
"But you didn't," the prince states. "You're here and real. The proof is in the fact that what Bloom said hurt. If you weren't real, then that would have affected you at all."
Hearing all this, Thorn couldn't help but think about everything he said to her. "I don't get it. If you know that I'm not Bloom then why are you being so nice to me?"
"Because Bloom's obvious fond of you."
The copy couldn't help but sneers, "Yeah, Right!?" she crosses her arms and turns away.
"It's true. We often talk about you. Every time she discovers something similar or different, it's always the first thing Bloom brings up during our dates. To Bloom you're more than a clone. You're her sister."
The girl was at a loss for words. Not once has Bloom ever referred to her in such. But then again, it's not like the doppelganger gave her the chance.
Bloom's voice then rings throughout the park. "Thorn!"
Turning, Thorn finds her better half searching.
Sky then rubs the back of his head. "I may have messaged her on our way here."
The girl just rolls her eyes while smirking. "You really are a boy scout. I hate that. But it's one of the reasons Bloom loves about you. Guess I have to give you some slack."
Thorn gets up from her seat and approaches Bloom. "Hey, Bloom!"
The Fairy of the Dragon Flame sighs in relief, "Thorn!" and runs up to her. "Look about what I said, I—" she is then caught off guard by the hug.
"I know that I'm not easy to deal with," Thorn confesses. "I'm new to this as much as you are. I didn't exist until Darkar and that's all I want. To exist," she breaks away. "I guess it's nice to have a sister and not entirely sure what to do about it."
Bloom's eyes widen and looks passed her double to see Sky giving a sheepish smile.
"Yeah! Your boyfriend spilled the beans about that. Now, he's not my type but I don't have to tell you not to let him go, Sister," Thorn gives Bloom a playful smirk.
Bloom returns the smile before pulling Thorn into another hug. "I am sorry for what I said," then breaks apart. "I'm just trying to adjust to everything. I have a hard time learning that it's not just me anymore. Mike and Vanessa are as much your parents as they're mine and I'm actually happy to have you around. You're my sister. Not my clone. Look, I'm sure we can work this out. If there's anyplace that can help us figure out your place it's Alfea."
Hearing that, Thorn bites her bottom lip. "About that, I really don't belong at Alfea."
"Huh?"
"Just have a look at these," the twin hands over an envelope.
Bloom accepts them and starts reading them. "You're transferring to Cloud Tower? But I thought we were going to get along?"
"Honestly, I believe we are," Thorn shrugs. "But let's face it, I don't fit in at Fairy School. It's too soft for me. So few outside your friends handle my teasing and no one likes my pranks."
"To be fair, you last prank put snakes in almost every bathroom at school," Bloom points out but her sister only chuckled.
"That was my best one. It actually impressed Ms. Griffin enough to accept my transfer without a second thought. Especially since Faragonda never found out it was me," Thorn then crossed her arms and sighs. "Let's face it. I belong at Cloud Tower. Being wicked is just something I'm good at. Same as you're good at, well, being good."
Bloom smiles, "As relieved as I am to finally have all my stuff to myself, I'm going to miss you as a roommate.:
"Liar!"
"Okay, okay. But I'll still miss having you around."
Thorn smirks. "I'll still be around. Especially when you don't want me. We can hang out on the weekends, and we'll be home for the holidays. See you around, Sis," she starts walking away.
Bloom smiles at her retreating twin. "Bye, Sis."
