Don't Own Fairy Tail, or 'essences' Only The Oc
'thought'
"Speech"
"Powerful Creatures Speaking, like a dragon or a god"
"Lacrima, and Text via book or newspaper... when those are around..."
I look to the fair stack of contracts that are set before me, I blink owlishly.
"Thank you so much, master." I smile as I bow my head slightly.
"Think nothing of it, lad, you saved Lucy with your quick thinking. It's the least I can do."
"Is Mira, Jellal, and Erza alright?"
"They're fine, lad. Some broken bones, but they will heal. They'll be up and running within mere days... less for Mira who is only slightly shaken up. Natsu is also fine only with a little bruising... but I assume you knew that considering you didn't list him."
I nod mutely as I look through the contracts. "I was checking the price of their bodily health as they were fighting."
Thirteen in all.
More than I was expecting, honestly.
Most of the enemies were unconscious, dead, or dying. Apparently, a fight between five S class and beyond mages isn't good for your health if you are knocked out nearby.
Makarov did wake up the leader and force him to sign.
Some dude named 'Crunch'.
No clue who that is, honestly, but he took on Erza, Mira, Jellal, and Natsu at the same time. I should save his contract for last, otherwise I might not have enough power to transfer everything.
"It will probably take me several days to work through all of these... once more, I thank you, Master."
He nods once and returns to his office, presumably to contact the magic council.
They are probably already marching towards Magnolia, so if I want to get any salvage from the big ass airship, I might as well get a move on.
I crouch atop a large ancient weapon.
It has been practically cut in half.
Someone truly did a number on it.
Numerous guild mates are stood around, watching over the unconscious dark guild mages, someone seems to have tied them to trees with wood. Probably either Laki or Droy.
I look to a large glass sphere and scratch my chin.
The top of this weapon has been sheared off by a tremendous blast, melting the Lacrima and permanently damaging it.
I look down to numerous slots at the base of the cannon.
Numerous blackened keys sit in the receptacles.
Drained celestial spirit keys.
Oh, wow those are cheap.
This cannon is cheap as well... if you consider what it's capable of.
A smirk crosses my face as I press my hand on the cannon. "Buy."
I purchase the broken cannon for four hundred and fifty thousand and the keys for around one hundred and fifty thousand, a great deal when you realize that some of the keys are even silver.
That really put a damper on my wallet, though.
In the long run, however, it'll be worth it.
I'll be able to repair each and every one of these with time.
I leap off the ship, looking to a nearby orange haired mage with a large hat.
"Oh? You're... Pierce, right?" He questions.
I nod once.
"You did a good thing, Newbie. Nobody messes with Fairy Tail and gets away with it." He smirks, giving me a thumbs up.
A blue haired girl who was standing nearby perks up as she hears my name.
She quickly walks over.
"Oh! Right! I need to thank you!" The girl smiles brightly.
She wears a yellow dress with a white ribbon around the chest, she also has a checkered pattern ribbon in her hair.
"My name is Levy, it's safe to say that Lucy is my best friend..." The girl continues only to quickly look down at the floor. "I... well... maybe that's debatable now... I didn't even know she was replaced."
"I would not blame yourself for it. Not even Natsu who held the advantage of sense of smell and being on numerous jobs with her had realized it." I reply as I slip the charred and blackened celestial spirit keys into my pocket.
"I'm just glad I was able to find out when I was." I smile as I look around the broken ship. "That cannon when fully powered would have been able to take Magnolia off the map... and I suspect that would be its first target."
Levy scratches the back of her head. "Yeah..."
"I should get back to the guild. It was a pleasure meeting you, Levy. I really need to take some quests to reimburse my spending habits." I announce as I turn away.
"Right, once more, thank you so much for saving Lucy." The girl weakly thanks once more.
"You don't need to thank me for saving a family member. It's what any fairy tail wizard would do." I state as I wave over my shoulder. "Be safe. Their guild leader nearly managed to defeat Natsu, Erza, Jellal, and Mira. He is far from a pushover."
I look to the white haired woman in question sat atop the ship, glaring down at the dark guild master's prone form as she crosses her arms across her chest, there's a large bandage across her nose to hold it in place.
"If the cannon disappears soon, don't worry. It's my doing." I finish.
As I leave the clearing the Allocer airship rests within I make a decision.
Canon knowledge is not to be trusted. Throw that shit out the window.
I got lucky with Everlue and Lullaby, yet if I continue to think that every arc will happen with small changes, I am just going to die...
It is perhaps safe to assume Phantom lord may still pose a problem, yet it is entirely possible that they are 'good' this time.
Use canon as a basis for caution. Not fact.
That is how I will proceed.
"Excuse me, Mavis."
"Yes Pierce?" The blonde bartender questions.
"Do we have a fairly large space I can keep something for the foreseeable future?"
"Hm?" The girl hums. "I guess there's the basement, but why?"
"I might have purchased the broken cannon of the Allocer ship."
She stares blankly for a long moment. "Why?"
"With my magic I should be able to steadily repair it as I am now the 'owner' of it. I thought it might be of some use to the fairy tail guild in the future, or, in the case that we ever grow low on funds, we can sell it."
"I see... alright, follow me."
She leads me through the guild's back door and outside where she walks over to a large set of bulkhead doors.
She slides the latch open and grabs the bottom of one of the two doors and begins struggling to lift it.
"Allow me." I cut in as I step over and open both fairly easily.
We slowly walk down into the basement, numerous boxes litter the surroundings, there are barrels of ale, fairy tail memorabilia, old weapons and armor, a lot of stuff, really.
"Just put it wherever." The girl states.
I walk over to a vaguely empty corner and activate my spell. "Ownership Magic: Recall"
With a bright green flash, a large destroyed cannon is placed before me.
Mavis looks over it for a moment, then her eyes sparkle. "Woah! This is the largest most pure lacrima I have ever seen! How did they manage to turn celestial spirit magic into power?!
She runs her hands along the numerous pipes at the base of the cannon that now go nowhere.
She lets out a sudden gasp. "This Lacrima must hold the knowledge for Urano Metria! It must have been a modified version that was enhanced by the parts that were destroyed! The fact that this can apparently use the full force of Urano Metria without chanting is incredible! it just needs magical power!"
I blink slowly as she cups her chin. "Wait... no... it's a little different than Urano Metria... perhaps it was a prototype Gottfried?!"
*Ahem*
The blonde flinches at my cough.
She looks over her shoulder. "O-Oh! Sorry, it's just... I get so excited when I see something incredible like this! This is a marvel of the old world! Back when all magic was treated as evil!"
"You know a surprising amount about magic." I point out.
She bashfully scratches the back of her head. "W-Well, yeah? I do... I might not look like it, but I have some magic too!"
"Really?" I question with a confused look. "What type."
"Oh... it's just illusion magic." The girl frowns. "Not that impressive compared to yours."
"All magic is impressive, Mavis." I smile, only for it to fall off slightly as I continue. "Also... we both know that isn't exactly true."
The blonde girl stiffens, eyes growing wide with shock. "W-Well y-you see."
"I will not press. I will not ask question. Your history is your own and it is up to you if you truly want to reveal it to me, but, if you ever need someone to talk to, I am always available." I state as I slowly turn to head for the stairs. "Your secrets are your own, and I will not be revealing them to anyone. You have my word."
"P-Pierce! Wait!" She calls out.
I stop mid-step and look back, the blonde girl looks slightly insecure, staring at the ground and squirming slightly.
"You're right... I- do know more than I let on... and I keep a lot of secrets from the rest of fairy tail... but... I'm just so tired, Pierce. I... just didn't want to do it anymore. I've lost so many friends. So many members of our family. I-I'm sorry, alright. I know its not good to lie, but... I just want to be treated like I'm normal."
She clenches her eyes shut as if she is expecting me to yell or shout.
"Ok." I shrug.
"H-Huh? You're not mad that I lied?!" The girl blinks owlishly.
"Why would I be? It is your own business. I, nor anyone else, has a right to learn all of your secrets. If you want to tell someone it is entirely up to you. You don't need to justify your choices to me. I respect them all the same." I state as I turn and walk towards the door again.
"You are intelligent enough to know that my magic could easily go from 'Merchant' magic to 'Slavery' magic with just a single purchase, yet you don't seem to judge me for that. Why would I judge you for your own private matters?" I continue as I slowly walk up the stairs, I glance back over my shoulder as I make a small decision. "I'll be taking that art thief job, I'll see you later, Mavis. Stay safe."
"HRAGH!"
I duck a punch, guiding it aside with a forearm as my other hand comes up and chops the throat of my attacker, the man goes down with a slight gurgle.
I twist suddenly, grabbing the wrist of my second attacker as he goes for a slashing attack with a long straight blade.
My other hand comes up as I land a punch directly to the sternum of the man, freeing the air from his lungs, then the side of my hand crashes into his nose.
Well, this certainly turned into something I wasn't expecting.
I look over a tremendous mass of fighters nearly twenty in all.
Every single one was nonmagical, yet, the sheer number is what surprised me.
"Six thieves my ass." I scoff.
I never expected this to turn into something... so large.
I was genuinely surprised when I read the memories of one of these dudes.
They aren't just run of the mill thieves.
These guys are all contracted by a dark guild.
Why does a dark guild want a bunch of paintings? They don't. They want a few specific paintings that were used to smuggle something into the country.
Why do they not just use a fucking requip mage, you might ask?
The items in question burn up if magic is used upon them. A safety measure from the original creator.
Who is that creator, you ask?
Zeref.
It's always fucking Zeref.
I step over the numerous unconscious people and walk towards the leader's tent.
They were quite well hidden. If I didn't steal some memories, I would have never found this place.
They probably were going to sacrifice some of their guys to trick a wizard into thinking that the job was completed, then steal the rest of what they needed the day after the wizard left.
They also didn't know which pieces of art they needed to steal. Any markings or knowledge of which paintings held the items was not revealed to the thieves.
All of this could have been avoided if they had just gotten a notice.
It's more likely that they were told to steal all of the paintings because the dark guild didn't trust them.
This came back to bite them as this thieves guild went with the low and slow approach to stealing the paintings.
They will all probably die when word gets out about their defeat.
I need to wash my hands of this.
Numerous rolls of film fly from the prone bodies as I raise a hand up. They all combine into a singular roll of film that condenses down into a gemstone.
Here are the collective three hundred fifty minutes of me kicking the shit out of these guys, all taken from different angles.
I need to take this and dispose of it, perhaps attaching it to a rock and flinging it into a lake.
Whenever the guild that hired them comes to collect their paintings, I am unsure if they could tell that a random blade a grass holds the collective memories of twenty nine people, so I'd like for it to be far away.
I step inside the fancily made tend, seeing numerous large crates.
I crack one open with a grin.
Nothing is better than stealing from thieves.
My eyes scan numerous paintings as I remove them from the boxes.
'ah. This is one.'
I abruptly tear the back off the painting, numerous carefully placed arcane runes deactivate as the picture frame is broken. An aged, slightly brown piece of parchment slowly drifts down onto the table, I flinch at the sheer malice it radiates.
'h-holy shit. That one was even worse than the first one!'
My eyes narrow as the murderous presence dissipates slightly.
My eyes skim the paper, numerous magical diagrams and neat notes are scrawled across it.
The item they were transporting across the border... was a spell.
A singular spell. A chapter from one of Zeref's many spell compendiums.
From what I can see from this page and the one I found earlier, it's quite a taxing spell as well.
Page three of five.
Finding the other three not in my possession is quite easy, just a matter of picking out the pictures in question.
A regular man would be unable to cast this spell.
I am not a regular man.
A large majority Zeref's creations seem to have one thing in common.
All of them all seem to be at the expense of the caster.
He is able to cut numerous corners due to his immortality. He doesn't need blood to survive, so he can use it as projectiles. Life force? Transfer that into mana. Does this spell require a rib of the caster for each and every time its cast? Oh well. Those grow back.
I shuffle through the pages with a frown on my face.
He might be a suicidal, depressed old man, but you can't deny that he is a genius.
If he put even ten percent of the effort he tries to kill himself with, into literally anything else, I fear what he would be able to accomplish.
The sheer scope of this spell astounds me.
Frankly, its cost is reasonable.
I stated that a normal man wouldn't be able to cast this spell, and... I wasn't lying.
The sheer amount of mana this spell would take to be cast would kill basically any normal wizard to cast it.
If I had a rough estimate, I'd say that a skilled wizard of Erza's caliber and magical capacity could cast it once if she had her second origin unlocked... and even then, it would leave her so drained she might not even be able to protect herself afterwards... and keep in mind, this is only casting the spell on a single target.
This spell in question must be cast on an object, and what it does after that is quite interesting.
It targets all of the condensed malice in an object and gives it life, transforming it into an Etherious being for a short time to do your bidding.
The more malice an item has, the stronger the created creature is... but the mana cost in question is even across the board. A demon created from a simple tree will be far weaker than a demon made from an ancient alter that has had thousands of years of lives sacrificed on it. But both will still cost the exact same.
You are also unable to use the spell on something twice. Or at the very least, you are unable to get the same result twice. The spell when cast consumes all of the malice in the object, 'purifying' it in a way. Nothings stopping you from casting this spell on it again, yet the demon you create will be absolutely worthless compared to the first because they will be made of little to no malice.
It's a summoning magic that can, in theory, create an endless army.
You'd have to have an absolutely monstrous energy capacity for that, however.
I pause as a certain memory settles in.
"Oh..."
I probably just fucked with Grimoire heart.
I look to the pages, making absolutely sure that I have memorized each and every part.
A green magic circle appears in my other hand.
I touch the five pages.
They burst into flames as I smile and drop the burning pages down to the floor.
Let's get the fuck out of here.
I look over my own notes, making absolutely certain that each and every part is exactly the same.
It appears they are.
My memory is once more, spot on.
The pages disappear from my grasp as I nod once.
I grab a blackened key and channel my magical power into it as a green magic circle appears at the tip.
The blackened, drained markings creep away from where I am holding and slowly make their way up the key.
I run out of magical power as the fixing effect stops roughly half way.
A gleaming brown-ish metal is seen under my fingertips.
Soon, this key will also be mine. Just like Sagitta.
I let out a long breath as I stand, stretching my arms above my head.
It has been about a day since I have learned the Nemesis spell from Zeref's notes. As of right now, I'm just taking a break.
Slowly but surely, I am absorbing the knowledge from the contracts and it has allowed me to come to a conclusion.
WOW these guys were weak. They've given me even less mana than EVERLUE.
Everlue increased my mana capacity by around twenty percent when I stole his magic.
These guys?
It took literally three of them to even get close to the same results.
But they have given me some useful spells.
First and foremost, Requip. One of them had a secondary requip magic.
I have no idea how I lived before this.
My requip space is merely the size of a lunch box, but I would legitimately kill for it now.
Currently, it is filled with my notes of Zeref's magic, plus three potions containing basic magic.
Those types being basic Sand, Leaf, and Snow magics.
None of those really interest me, so I will probably be giving them to someone else.
I want to limit my own skill usage, as if I just drink every single potion I come across, my magical skills will become muddied, I'll become a jack of all trades, master of none.
Though, I suppose since I own all of these magics, I can sort of just swap them out at will. Drink a potion, mess around with the magic, then turn it back into a potion at my own convenience.
There's a sudden pulse of energy within my body as a wispy aura of power forms around me.
"Oh?"
Someone tried to talk about the contract they were forced to sign.
I toss aside the memories and condense the magic into a potion bottle form.
'Now, what is- hold on... this actually isn't that bad.'
Thread make magic... and the mage who held it had a fairly decent understanding of it.
I think I might just keep this one for my personal use.
I look to the copper key I had begun to heal and quickly channel my magic into it. My magic power had regenerated slightly from the sudden addition to my power.
The black grime and ash slowly disappears from the key's length. The coppery shine returns to its full luster.
A smile crosses my face as I observe the key.
Canis Minor.
Well, looks like I'll be having a pet dog, soon... or I could just pawn the key off to Lucy. She would probably enjoy having A key that can never be taken off her without permission.
I requip the key away with a slow nod, then do the same to the Thread Make magic potion.
I gather my things and quietly leave my apartment, making my way steadily to the fairy tail guild house.
"So, how'd your last job go, Pierce?" The blonde one hundred year old girl in front of me questions.
"It went pretty well all things considered, however there were far more thieves than they listed. Instead of a mere six, there was well over twenty. Luckily for myself, however, is the fact that none of them had any magical abilities. It does make me wonder why there was such a large thieving guild there in the first place, though."
"Couldn't you just buy the reason they were there and find out that way?" The girl points out with a blank stare.
"I'm not that interested in knowing why they were there." I shrug with an amused smile.
"Fair, fair." The blonde relents.
"Hey, Pierce..." A voice behind me begins.
"Hn?" I hum as I swivel the bar stool around, standing before me is Lucy herself.
"I heard from everyone that you were the one that realized I was kidnapped... I just wanted to thank you."
"You don't need to thank me, Lucy. Anyone in our guild would have done the same provided they had the means." I reply easily. "Don't worry about it. Just be more careful next time."
"R-Right." She meekly replies while scratching the back of her head. "T-Thank you again."
I offer her a kind smile and a small nod, then turn back to my burger and fries.
"I'm actually thinking about going on that holy sword quest. But I am unsure if I should hang around Magnolia for a few days, finalizing some contracts and repair a couple of keys."
"I would personally suggest for you to prepare as much as you can." The pastel blonde says with a meaningful stare.
"Alright, I'll rest." I sigh as I stretch my arms above my head. "probably I wise decision. I still haven't gotten their boss' power yet. If I had the strength capable of taking on three S class and a dragon slayer, that'd really make my missions a lot easier."
"Just because you would have access to that strength, doesn't mean you would be ready for S class challenges." The first guild master points out.
"Oh, I am aware, but it still would be nice to have access to."
Pov: elsewhere.
"Gehehehe" a man darkly laughs. "Did you hear about how Fairy tail was up in arms a few days ago?"
A black-haired man crouches at the edge of a rooftop
He has long-lower back length, spikey black hair, dark clothes and has numerous metallic studs littering his body, most around his face, covering his brow, nose, and chin.
A second man lets out a low scoff. "Yeah, it's always that way. If you prod a nest of ants they'll always run out."
The second man... certainly has a look.
He is tanned, with shoulderblade-length black hair, he wears a white admiral cloak around his shoulders, acting more as a cape than a legitimate coat, he wears black and brown breeches with diamond patterns, which is fastened by a green sash, there is a flintlock-esque pistol tucked into the waistband of his pants, he is shirtless, wearing only a large metallic chest-protector that covers the left side of his chest, a guild mark is seen on the right side of his chest, a strange loopy Y shaped symbol with a large dot in the center of the Y.
To finish off his pirate themed outfit is a large black leather hat with numerous white feathers along one side.
"Well, the Boss man wants us to prod that ant hill, huh?" The teen with studs across his body questions. "Gihehehe."
"It seems that way." The pirate nods slowly.
"They were up in arms in an instant when that dark guild attacked one of their members, yeah? Why don't we get this war on a roll already and just hang up one of their guild members somewhere?" The man wearing black scoffs.
"No." The pirate states with a small shake of his head. "First and foremost, we must target the guild hall. Master's orders. The whole point is making sure that they know it is us provoking them so they can strike the first true blow."
"Why not just paint our guild symbol on the stomach of some chump after we beat the shit out of them?"
"They might believe that it is a dark guild provoking them into a battle with Phantom Lord." The other man refutes.
"Tch. Fine. What a stuffy, boring, prick." The gruff teen scoffs before glaring over her shoulder. "And you too, ya wanna be pirate dickhead."
"Says the almighty dragon slayer who becomes more lifeless than a corpse on- dare I say at the risk of you pissing your pants- P-public T-transporation?!"
"Go fuck yourself with that big stupid looking hat of yours, Largo." The Iron dragon slayer lowly growls.
Pov: Elsewhere.
A pink haired girl bows her head to another girl sat on a large stone throne. "Ma'am. It appears the moon drip ritual will be finished soon."
"Oh? How soon?" The girl sat within the throne questions.
She has long deep purple hair that goes to the center of her back, red lipstick, gleaming red eyes, and pale skin. She wears a near skin-tight white, brown, gold, and black suit with disconnected sleeves.
The pink haired girl who approached her raises her head, she has long pink hair tied up in pigtails that go to about her shoulders, she wears a frilly black and pink dress with numerous strings across the front, two long pieces of cloth are on her shoulders, looking similar to wings.
"It could be anywhere from seven days to potentially a month, Ma'am."
"hn. So close..." The deep purple haired woman hums lightly. "Thank you for notifying me. I will be sure to remain on the island for the next three weeks or so. You are dismissed."
The pink haired girl nods once and retreats from the room.
A second pink haired girl slowly steps out from around the throne.
She is smaller than the first pink haired girl, in addition, her hair is short, roughly chin length, she has a petit body, wears a tight, purple leotard with brownish thigh-high boots that have white stripes at the top. She wears a red cape around her shoulders with a golden fringe, she also wears some sort of gold wing-like headgear around her ears.
She watches the other pink haired girl leave, her pink eyes gazing over her calculatingly.
Her gaze slides to the other woman. "Deliora is nearly revived..."
"Yes." The dark purple haired woman nods.
"…"
"Are you sure you can control it?"
"No... I do not plan to control it... the iced shell is a tremendously powerful spell that not only seals someone or something within it, it also steadily saps the energy of the target... in Deliora's case, it is more than likely already dead or extremely weak... I plan to kill it to make good on my promise to those fools."
"Is... that it?" The girl weakly questions. "We have spent the better part of three years... for that?"
"Hn... no... not just that, I will be gaining information and closure, though perhaps you should refrain from talking down upon those that are assisting us."
"…" the pink haired girl shoots the purple haired woman a bewildered stare.
"Alright, almost all of them are genuinely disappointing." The woman relents. "Most only know the moon drip spell despite them all having the potential to be capable mages with legitimate attacking magics. It is utterly disappointing. That dullard dog man is no better. Frankly, he's worse."
The girl continues to stare.
"There are really only two I am interested in, the first, that large eyebrowed fellow. His magic is extraordinarily rare and can counter all projectile magics with a mere wave of his hand. Then there is the girl. Her magic allows her to take control of any object or animal and turn them into puppets. The thing is, the only rule for her magic is that it can't extend to humans... Animals, Wyverns, Demons, Corpses, Dragons, with enough power she could control all of those things... Those two are squandering their talents, but the thing is, they have talents. I wish to get them to join our guild, they would certainly be of assistance to our master." The woman quietly explains to the girl. "If I have to kill a dead demonic being in order to win their trust, so be it..."
"I see." The girl blinks. "Then the others?"
"Worthless. Though I suppose if we could convince them to join, Master Hades could find some manner to make use of them. Be it, using their souls as a component for spells, or slave labor."
The small pink haired girl nods slowly.
"I understand this little mission of ours has been... boring... yet at the end of the day, I do feel it is worth it in the end, Meredy" The older woman states.
"No, I understand. I'll follow you to the ends of the earth, Lady Ultear." The pink haired girl beams.
"Good, Good." The woman smiles.
And now, Allocer officially comes to a close! Fairy tail has a magical weapon of mass destruction in their basement, and several pieces are moving in the background!
Pierce's arsenal of magics is expanding, and so is his magical container.
I wonder how many people are going to shit bricks when he casually pulls out the Nemesis spell on someone in a couple of chapters.
Guest Reviews:
JustAFan123: Oh, absolutely. Using even a single essence is a way to utterly break a story. Using more than one? Your character would be so utterly broken nothing could EVER stand up to him. The only reason why Pierce isn't bending Fiore over his knee is because he got one of the weaker essences and one that takes a while to build upon. This could have been VERY different if he got the dragonborn essence.
As always, I have one of those spooky pat reons, you can find it at Pat Reon (Dotcom) (Slash) flameclawsxx!
With the shameless plug out of the way, I'll see you all in the future!
