' When I've been open and accepting of where I am, things start opening up.'

-Eva Mendes

Having a teenager at a dinner was far from regrettable when Gabriella ended up getting about with Mayday. She ended up having a gift for her in the form of a Lucas the spider plushie from Earth-616. Which was accepted within the seconds that soft and furry gift was presented to her. How the mood for the rest of the evening was sent since nobody had worried about a baby.

"Any way I could babysit her?" Mary Jane asked Mr. Webb, "Take the worry off of me when Peter takes her and gives him a chance to breathe."

"Pastelito?" Dr. Web asked her, "What do you think, another offer to babysit?"

"No Manches!" Gabriella felt honored, "I still haven't gotten back to Mrs. Drew about her offer."

"Popular isn't she?" Mary Jane asked Peter and Miguel, quite surprised.

"I have yet to reviewed her abilities and what she brings to the Society," Miguel shared his thought in Gabriella, "If entrusted with child rearing and care."

"She's got my vote." Peter wasn't much on Miguel's side.

When Gabriella mumbled bobo under her breath about Miguel still not approving of her for the Spider Society. She knew she only carried basic abilities from her father and psychic abilities from her grandmother. Which she was still learning to use when she came into them upon going through puberty. Didn't stop the frown appearing on her face before her father's nectar wine was open. Aroma of peaches, honeysuckle and citrus tickled everyone's noses when potions out. Wouldn't be enjoyed by everyone when the filled glasses were handed out. WHich were taken by everyone Miguel looked to Gabriella after he heard shan't she said anything about him. What he got was giggly May while Gabriella stuck her tongue out at him.

"Miggy?" Peter called to him, "Everything ok?"

"Everything is perfect." Miguel continued staring at Gabriella.

Mary Jane put the bottle down when she took hold of her glass noticing the staring contest going on. Become slightly amused when her daughter repeated Gabriella's gesture that she noticed toward Miguel. Twitching of a single eyebrow and flaring of his nostrils caught Dr. Webb's and Peter's attention.

"Pastelito." Dr. Webb warned her.

"Lo siento Sr. O'Hara." She retracted her tongue.

May did the same when the timer in the kitchen went off and MarybJane was on her feet to get to the casserole. She took her daughter from Gabriella and pulled Peter by the shoulder to get him up. He shrugged and went with her, not understanding before having Dr. Webb came with them. No answer was given for leaving Miguel behind when she shushed them both upon exiting. Wanting tension that was between Miguel and Gabriella to work itself out without interference.

"I heard from my papi," Gabriella scooped over Miguel, "I share a resemblance with your late daughter. Whose death you took hard since she vanished in your arms when you tried to save her."

"I tried to take on the role after my counterpart in that world was killed," He placed his glass down as familiar sadness surfaced, "Enjoyed the role of a single father until …"

When he went quiet over memories of a smiling face calling him father buried in the back of his mind. Ended when he felt a weight on one of his sides pressing into his with her arms surrounding him. Not that her lack of strength was noticed when he felt some of air squeezed from his lungs. What he found was Gabriella trying her best in comforting him through a hug.

"Es sufficient," He was touched by her attempts, "Gracias."

"I'll only let go," She looked up with a determined expression, "Unless you come to my games this weekend. No excuses accepted."

"Where and when?" Miguel asked in no mood to turn her down.

"Ask my dad," She pulled away from him, "Mi abuela can't wait to meet you."

"I look forward to meeting her." Miguel found himself for her.

Watching her cheer about someone other than her grandmother attending her competitive robotics competition. Had her pulling out her phone to show off the robot she used for yearly Robot combat. Came in the shape of a spider in a full-body spinner/ grabber with interchangeable weapons.

"You built this all by yourself?" Miguel asked, seeing only her in most of the pictures.

"All the teens in mi abuela 's apartment building …and school," Gabriella put down her phone, "Think I am a freak."

She ended up going quiet for a second without actually using words that at first confused Miguel, before he heard a mental whisper. Sounded like a weak tone of voice belonging to blank faced Gabriella. Followed by fuzzy images of fellow classmates and people her own age mocking her. Being asked if she knew about the lunch menu for the next day and when kick me a sign was pinned to her back.

"Because that means to save someone from getting crushed," She clasped her hands into her lap, "You get labeled."

Describing when construction was taking place on 43rd Street and 11th Avenue during the day. A tad of an unpleasant memory for Gabriella when that moment was when everything went wrong. All she tried to do was get a group of teens she knew from the apartment building out the way. By seeing their deaths when a heavy duty piece of equipment turned the wrong turn, and sped towards them.

"Not everyone is willingly to be thankful," Miguel picked up her phone, "Keep living your life is all you should be doing. Save who you can and try with those who don't get your help as best you can."

"Thanks." She had her phone handed back to her.

"I need to know," He brought attention back to her robot, "You planned out the concept to an actual working model."

"I found most of the parts in the electronics section of second hand stores, salvage when I go out, and junk shops," She allowed him to scroll through her photos, "I call her Arachn."

"Named after the protagonist from Greek mythology?" He further asked.

"I just hope I can make it to finals this year," she crossed her fingers, "Without getting an inflated ego."

They ended up laughing at her joke that could be heard all the way in the kitchen when Peter elbowed Dr. Webb. He stood in between the archway of the kitchen and the dining area just listening. Rare form of worry over him about leaving his daughter alone with someone with a temper.

"Told you," Pete was proven right, "He's just a big softie."

"That's what worries me." Dr. Webb had an existing concern.

"You're telling me," Peter passed him, "Getting past his hard shell without setting him off is a hard task. He's always guarded and has his head stuck in his work of keeping a balance of EVERYTHING."

When Gabriella yelled out to dad that the rest of the night went off like a hitch since the first barrier was climbed. Being that Miguel seemed to be more relaxed when he got to meet Gabriella. Any suspicions he had about her were put to rest since it wasn't some kind of anomaly. She didn't want anything to do with Miguel's former employer, which was a rather shocking surprise. Just she seemed more interested in leaning more toward robotics and coding. Then genetics and the field of medicine like her dad when asked about her future career. Put aside for refills, wine glasses and food on plates were handed out.

"Out of respect for you," Dr. Webb thought he would indulge Mary Jane, "I'll tell you."

"Come on." Peter watched his wife lean towards Dr. Webb.

Her eyes went wide when she was told Dr. Webb's first name in a soft enough voice that nobody could hear. Had Peter going from complaining to looking to Gabriella for an answer he couldn't hear. All he got was her putting her fork down and making a huge X with her arms to him. May followed suit with Miguel and LAYLA following when turned to them for a bit of help.

"Really?" She pulled away from him.

"My mother is a bit of an old world woman," Dr. Webb nodded, "Even had my late father agreed with her."

"She must be an amazing woman," Mary Jane, like Dr. Webb's mother already said, "Would love to meet her someday."

Now that was comment Peters agreed with his wife on having Madam Webb over some day. Which had Dr. Webb awkwardly trying to give an answer that wouldn't hurt Mary Jane 's feelings. Way he handled his glass when he pulled his fingers away from it. Long pause he took to answer told Miguel he was holding back or holding something.

"My mom isn't big on dimensional travel," He explained, "She tends to like to stay in one place."

"Mi abuela only steps outside her apartment," Gabriella agreed with her dad, "Anything having to do with me.

This was where the subject changed for them by Peter taking over. Recounting the tale of when he first met Dr. Webb. Recalling cold hands in gloves and eerily cheerful doctor for a first appointment.

Gabriella swore the rain always had it in for her and her dad when she was saying her goodbyes to him. When she was on her way home via taxi outside the Babylon Towers' back entrance.

"Abuela is going to chew my ear out for not bringing you home," She reminds him. "So don't stay too late."

"Tell her to stop worrying." He opened the door for her.

A kiss on her forehead was given and was sent home when the door was slammed shut by him. He watched the taxi drive away until he couldn't completely see the streak of yellow any more. This had him turning around to walk back into the building and make his usual long walk.

"Now wanting to head home?" LAYLA greeted him, "After tonight …"

"I am in the mood to go home with my daughter and not work." He guessed what she would say.

"I tried," She shrugged , "Need some company?"

"Doesn't our residential Master Weaver need your attention," He reminds her of her first priority, "Further coddle him through his hangover."

"He's currently soaking in a bath I drew," She recalled the last time she saw him, "Quite relaxed despite his hangover."

"What I get for gifting a nectar based wine," He recalled, "Some spiders are attracted to the sweet taste of flowers."

"Not your problem," LAYLA Apassired him, "He always comes back from Peter's place full of cheer."

He ended up feeling guilty about the state Miguel was in as he returned to the medical wing as stepped off the elevator. Head nodded here and said she sent his daughter home instead of bringing her. Turning down a fellow spider woman or man when they tried to ask him back their reality. Using the excuse his work with Spider Society came first over any type of love for him. Not wanting to time them he rather not date anyone within his workplace for time being.

"Avoiding the call of nature?" LAYLA joked.

"This coming from an AI made by my boss's ex?" He countered, "Funny."

"Forgot you met her." LAYLA felt the burn.

Laughed for a few seconds before he stopped at the threshold of medical wing for a personal project. One that had to do with researching the green goop in small, glass vials Miguel's injects into himself. Concern it wasn't a known drug by the name of Rapture was put to rest by LAYLA. His only guesses were some type of blood serum to control his blood thirst. Maybe some another type of other fluid that he takes to keep his feral half in check.

"I got done making that oral injectable gadget," LAYLA happily announced,"Getting Miguel to hold still to get a scan of his mouth wasn't easy."

"Good work," He looked over the 3D view, "After the actual test is when we can present it to him."

"Real smarts behind the design." She gave him credit.

"Just an idea," He reached toward his white coat, "I have work to do and don't you have someone you should be watching?"

"Your more fun to keep company." LAYLA hinted.

"Go on." He waved her off.

He didn't like the unnatural attachment to him since he started working within the medical ward. Had wanting to meet the programer behind her design whenever he got the chance.
