Introductory:
On Stardate 66259.41 The USS Tempest, Soulwolf Class appeared in the current universe after fleeing the year 2387 from what was a universal wide catastrophe. While on a mission to bring in a rogue scientist that worked with Section 31, Dr. LeshevI Ilyich detonated a device that sent a massive Anti-Time wave that would soon encompass the whole of the universe. According to classified records the device was empowered by both protomatter, and a large portion of Omega particles. It's unclear how many Omega Particles the Dr. had, but the science officer of the Tempest determined that it was enough to cause a reverse Big Bang, one that was made to destroy the known universe instead of create.
In an effort to save themselves, the crew of the Tempest utilized the temporal technology that their ship had, based upon the Premonition Class starship, and attempted to jump from their current universe to another. Dimensional Travel at this point in time had only been a theory, but with some modifications to the Temporal Drive, the Tempest was able to jump timelines. However in addition to jumping from one universe to another, the Tempest found themselves jumping ahead of time into the year 2407. And on Stardate 84210.85, the Tempest found itself adrift in Federation space, heavily damaged from the travel. The USS Jackson, an Akira class starship, was nearby and was able to rescue the ship's crew and bring them home.
After explaining everything that had happened, and going through long debriefs with Temporal Investigations, and Starfleet Command, it was decided that with the crew's experience that they would be allowed to continue their work as Starfleet officers and be brought up to speed on current affairs. However there was a bit of… Controversy about the crew and the tech they brought with them…
Although the Tempest was recovered, much of the ship was alien to Starfleet in terms of designs and specs. The Temporal Technology that the Tempest had was not yet fully designed by Starfleet, more to that, the security clearances and knowledge the command crew had was higher than normal, for the Tempest and it's crew had done much in their efforts to keep the Timeline in check during their service in their universe. After nearly a year of back and forth between the Starfleet Corps of Engineers and R&D, it was agreed that many of the ships systems would be repurposed and used in the next class starship.
For a time, the crew was brought upon an Excelsior Class ship that was the new USS Tempest, although outfitted with the latest of 25th century technology, it wasn't as advanced as the Soulwolf. It held the A in its registry code, as a momentum to their lost ship.
The year 2409 came, and the Odyssey Class was soon to come, along with variants of the ship class as the Odyssey became not only a new generation of Federation Starship designs, but was the next class ship to bear the name USS Enterprise. Soon after the incident with the Jem'Hadar Fleet at Deep Space Nine, new variations of the Odyssey was coming out, and Captain Venier was finishing up with Starfleet Ship Designers on a ship variant that would hold the technology from the first ship, and be apart of the next generation of starships.
And so, the USS Tempest, NCC 92105-B, Templar Class was brought into service, and a new variant of the Odyssey was born.. Joining it was the USS Crusader, an Aquarius class light escort that was docked in the aft section of the ship. With most of the original crew able to transfer in and serve once more with their Captain, the Tempest was launched in time to help defend the Federation, and soon the whole of the Galaxy.
The Iconians. An advanced civilization that was around thousands of years prior to the discovery of the Warp Drive, before the Pyramids were even built, was thought to have died off years ago when races all across the Galaxy converged on their worlds, and destroyed them… Or so it was rumored. In the year 2410, the Iconians invaded the Milky Way Galaxy after having built their forces up throughout the millennium in the Andromeda Galaxy. Utilizing their Gateway Technology, they sent their forces to the Milky Way on a rampage of destruction, sending their Heralds out to fight against the whole of the Galaxy.
It was a long war between the Alpha Quadrant Alliance, Delta Quadrant Alliance, and the Iconians. After many months of long term fighting against one another, the war had finally ended thanks to the technology that the crew of the Tempest, and other ships and crews among the Federation questioned. A temporal weapon created by the Kernim from the Delta Quadrant was at first used as a possible means of removing the Iconian threat, but during a mission thousands of years into the past, the decision was made to not remove the Iconians from history, rather to return a lost artifact of theirs. A device known as the World Heart was discovered, taken from the Iconians by Sela. It was then decided that the World Heart would be returned to the Iconians in the present, in the hope of ending the conflict.. With the World Heart returned to the Iconians, peace was finally obtained, but the cost was almost too high. With the war over, it finally gave the Federation another chance to do what it was meant for, exploration.
Almost two years have passed, since the end of the war the Tempest had found itself in a number of conflicts, from the return of the Hur'q, to J'Ula reinstating the House of Mo'kai and it's small war with former Chancellor J'mpok, it's only now that the ship and her crew are

"You can't be serious… We've been given the opportunity to explore again, and they're asking for us to come back for a supply mission?" The question came from Lieutenant Commander Nyusari, Tempest's Chief Science Officer as she and the senior staff of the Tempest were currently in a meeting when their CO, Captain Rick Venier, informed them of some apparent new orders that came in. "I gave the same concern to them, but-" "Captain, we just got here no more than an hour ago." Spoke up Lieutenant Commander Aliyu who was the Tempest's Chief Tactical officer, who interrupted Rick as he was speaking. "We have only been here for a short time and already Starfleet wants to divert us to a different mission?" Aliyu asked as she leaned over the conference table. "She has a point." Commander Diane Williams, XO, said as she looked over to Rick, and then down the table towards the others. "Captain, they had to have given you a reason." Lieutenant Commander Vin Draht spoke as the Bolian Chief Engineer wondered what Starfleet Command was thinking. "They said that we are to take supplies from Starbase 104 to the colony on Lektana IV. It was one of the systems that was affected by the war with the Iconians, and before the final assault it was one of the systems that was assaulted by the Heralds. The colony is currently still under reconstruction even after two years. Their efforts have unfortunately been slow due to some pirate activities, and thus supplies have been in high demand for their efforts to finish the reconstruction. However Starfleet has given us some time.. We have about two weeks to catalog, survey and explore the planets here." Rick stated as he leaned back in his chair, and the response he got was as expected from his Trill science officer. "Two weeks? Captain, the Mei'Kolar system has eleven planets… For all the planetary surveys we have to do, that's a lot of work." Nyusari spoke as she narrowed her eyes towards Rick. "Sari, I understand that… However, since initial scans indicate that none of the planets in this system are M-class or support any life from what we could tell so far, the work might be a little easier." "Captain, we don't know that for sure." "Commander…" Diane suddenly interrupted, and looked over to her Trill friend as she then turned her head back to their captain. "Here's how I see it, we have the Aquarius, we also have quite a number of shuttles, we'll launch the Aquarius and a few shuttles to some of the planetoids that are in the system, any of which that are gas giants we'll launch probes. Tempest will remain at the eleventh planet and once all craft and probes finish their scans before we have to leave, we'll gather all information, regroup, and proceed to our next mission." Rick said as he leaned over the conference table a little, looking over his senior staff, who were not happy by the new orders. The U.S.S. Tempest, a Templar class Odyssey Variant, had been working for months during the Iconian War with providing supplies to outline colonies, different relief efforts and more as the war continued. Tempest had fought several battles as well during this time, so when the orders came in for Tempest to explore the Mei'Kolar system, it seemed as if it was going to be the perfect break they needed. The thought of exploring again was welcoming until these new orders came. "Sir, is there… Nothing that can be done? Two weeks just isn't enough, Mei'Kolar only has one gas giant out of the eleven planets in the system." Vin pointed out as the others listened, "There isn't anything we can do. When we're done with the supply mission I can speak to Starfleet about returning to Mei'Kolar." Rick said as he looked over to his Bolian chief engineer, he felt just as his staff was feeling, but knew that there was nothing he could do about their new orders.
