Chapter 1
Sunshine comes down to a typical neighborhood. Nice weather to start off a new school year. "Great here we go again." A male voice said sarcastically as he walks to the doors of his new high school. He has long silver hair, golden eyes, little claws on his hands, little fangs in his mouth but the most admired feature is his akita ears on his head. "Morning, Inuyasha." A female voice greets him. That made him smile and turns to see a girl with long straight coal black hair down to her waist. Her dirty brown eyes show a loving aura. He hugs her tightly. "You have no idea how I missed you this summer." Inuyasha whispers to her. They both are in their school uniforms. Inuyasha in white blouse with a red tie, and black slacks. Kikyo's uniform is a bit more revealing. Her skirt is red checkered with the same top and neck time with white stockings and black shoes. Kikyo smiles back as she returns the hug. "Well, you know how my daddy want me to help him out with his family business." She pulls back as she talks his hand and take him to the building. "Just one more year and we're out of here." Inuyasha wraps his arm around Kikyo's shoulder as they enter through the school.
Somewhere else in the neighborhood, a girl with beautiful raven black hair and warm chocolate brown eyes walks silently towards her school. Her school uniform is sailor top with the green detail with a red tie and a green skirt to the knees. She has white stocking and brown shows. "Kagome!" Another girl shouts out to her as she waves her hand. "Sango!" Kagome smiles back as she runs up to her friend. "Did you hear?" Sango asks quickly as they enter their school. "Hear what?" Kagome looks to her curiously. "There's an Exchange Program." Sango starts off. "What's so interesting about it?" Kagome asks as they head to their lockers to swap their shoes. "You know how it works." Sango said as she waits for Kagome to put on her shoes. "Two schools are chosen to participate to pick one of their top student to go to the other school to boost their academics." Kagome responds in a matter-of-fact tone. Sango nods. "True. So far I found out our school was picked from the school board." Kagome nods to have Sango to keep going. "And who's the other school?" She asks as they enter their hoomroom. "Shikon High." Sango simply replies back. "So it's our bitter rival school." Kagome rolls her eyes.
Sango waves her hands. "Hey I know how Shikon and Sakura Hills are. I'm just curious who's going to be chosen to go to the rival school. Maybe he or she could get some dirty secrets that school is hiding." Sango chuckles. Kagome shakes her head. "Really, Sango? You're so obsessed with the conspiracy theory thing." Sango grins. "Exactly. Maybe that's why…" Then the P.A. beeps to get the entire school's attention. "Good morning, everyone." The headmaster announces to them. No one really know who the headmaster is. "As we all know, Sakura Hills High School has been chosen to participate in the Student Exchange program. Not only our school, but also Shikon." At a pause moment, almost all of the rooms had booed at it. "Yes, I know just how you feel. Not to worry, it's only for the first trimester of the year. As such you'll probably be anxious about who it'll be. Without further ado, I have been informed about who's that student is. Kagome Higurashi."
The school has been in a dead silent. Kagome is horrified. "Why me?" She asks herself. She looks around the homeroom to see every person looking at her with random expressions. A few with 'be careful' a few others, 'you're a goner.' "Well, I'm out of here." Kagome sinks down in her seat in embarrassment." Sango isn't liking this one bit. "Kagome, don't worry about it." She tries to calm her friend down. A few minutes later, the door opens up when a guy with long inky hair and fiery red eyes. "Kagome." He said as he embraces her. Sango feels disgusted about the guy. "Naraku, it's not going to be forever." She crosses her arms. "It feels like it to me." Naraku frowns at her. "Oh, cry me a river. We still don't know who the other student from Shikon High is." Sango glares at him. Naraku just leaves the room "Kagome Higurashi." A female member of the faculty enters the room. Kagome walks up her. "Yes." She said to her. "Here's your information and proof of the exchange program." She hands over to Kagome the documents. "Thank you." Kagome bows in respect. The member bows back and leaves the room. Kagome returns to her seat and reads over the paper work. "What does it say?" Sango asks as she looks at Kagome's paper work. Kagome takes a few minutes to understand as much as she can. "I leave next week. The rival has the same school system so it shouldn't be that hard to keep track of our grades." Kagome said so far.
During lunch break, the girls go up to the roof for a more private moment to look over the information. Sango looks at the Shikon High school map. "It's practically identical to our school." She points out. Kagome can tell as well. "Any idea how long the school is from your house?" Sango asks her. Kagome takes out her smartphone and types down the two addresses. "Oh god." Kagome widens her eyes. "What?" Sango looks at the screen and widens her eyes. "There fifteen miles apart." She points out. Kagome groans. "Our houses are only 2 blocks away. And they expect me to walk fifteen miles to Shikon?" She sits down against the wall. Sango looks to the next page. "Hey, look at this." Sango hands the page to Kagome. "It says her that one of the students from there will be your escort." Kagome chuckles. "Well at least that's taken care of transportation." Sango looks down to the page. "At least you don't have to leave your house." That gave Kagome a smile of relief. "I don't think that I'd be able to stay at some stranger's house. Or that student's house in this case." She comments.
Shikon High School's roof is being occupied. "Why her, Miroku?" Inuyasha softly bangs his head onto the concrete wall. "Inuyasha, my friend. We don't know how the system works. What they did was their job. Besides it's only for the first trimester." Miroku tries to calm his friend's temper. "But without her, I'm lost." Miroku knows how clueless Inuyasha is without his girlfriend in his presence. "Take a look at the bright side." Miroku smiles at him. "Like what?" Inuyasha turns his head. "We both know about how bitter rivals our school and Sakura Hills are." Inuyasha sighs and sits down. "What about it?" Miroku sits next to him. "Think about it. Kikyo. Your girlfriend will be in enemy territory. And she might be able to find some information that we can use against that school." He smirks. Inuyasha knows how evenly matched the two schools are. Both athletically and academically. Basically they're in perfect balance. "Maybe some illegal deals." Inuyasha jokes out to him. "Any idea who the other student is?" Miroku looks at him. "No clue. Kikyo was picked and from the looks of it, she's quite confidential about it. Which isn't like her." Inuyasha said to him. Miroku can sympathize that the moment he met Kikyo, he felt something off about her. But he doesn't want Inuyasha to know about it.
The bell rings to alert the students that it's time to return to class. Inuyasha comes into the class that he has with Kikyo. From the look on her face made him feel the same way. "Hey." He greets as he sits next to her. Kikyo just nods as she places her chin onto her palm. "I don't like this." She tells him without turning to him. Inuyasha reads the information. "I don't either, I don't want you to leave me." Inuyasha rubs her back to cheer her up. Kikyo just leans onto his shoulder. "I don't want to leave you either. But I have to do this rather I like it or not." Inuyasha frowns at that. "But no matter what, I'll text or call you every night and when I wake up." Kikyo looks up to him. Inuyasha nods in agreement.
