AN: Just an early turkey day treat for those who celebrate. For those who do not, consider this ice cream for dinner. Either way enjoy! This is a continuation to chapters 1,3, & 5. Let me know what you all think in the reviews.

Olivia punched the code into her security system at the front door with a sense of urgency. Once the door unlocked, she pushed it open and entered through the mud room of her home. She quickly disrobed out of her jacket and ruffled through her Hermes for the brown pharmacy paper bag she had picked up on the way.

She kicked off her heels at the bottom of the stairs and beelined for the kitchen. She squeezed soap into her palms and let the water glide over her hands as she tried to calm herself. A minute later, she shut off the faucet and dried her hands with a clean towel. She then reached into the cabinets for a glass of wine. Next, she opened the fridge and retrieved the half bottle of wine in there. She was halfway into pouring herself a glass when she realized what she was doing. An ironic smile tugged its way across her lips and she shook her head. She dumped the wine in the sink, and she couldn't help the pained groan which escaped her throat at having to do that. It was a really nice bottle of wine.

Cracking her neck from side to side, she heaved in a deep breath and exhaled.

"Okaaay, you've done this before." She gave herself a pep talk as she pulled her hair back and tamed it with a scrunchie.

Scrunchies. Those were an accessory for her now. Because when you are a parent, you trade in nice diamond bracelets for scrunchies or elastics in case of an emergency hair crisis. So those were here to stay forever.

As soon as the thought left her, she focused back to the present. She rinsed her cup and pivoted towards the fridge again for some water. As the filter trickled water into the glass, she zoned out again.

A baby. At forty-five years old?

She zoomed back in again when she felt the weight of the glass increasing. It was almost filled to the brim.

"You've done this before. Just drink the fucking water and take the test. It'll be fine."

She started guzzling water until she felt like she was drowning. She came up for air for a brief moment and then drank some more until the cup was drained of every drop of water. She grabbed the tests in the pharmacy bag and staggered upstairs towards her bedroom.

Once in the comfort of her room, Olivia took her time transforming from Olivia Pope CEO, Shark & Vampire to Olivia Pope-Grant, wife, mother, everything extraordinaire. She slipped on clean pajama shorts and one of Fitz's t-shirts. A few minutes later, she felt the urge to pee.

With a sigh, she grabbed the First Response Pregnancy tests on the bed and headed to the bathroom. She tore open the box and then pulled her shorts down and sat on the toilet. A few seconds later, she peed on all three sticks. Capping the samples, she placed the tests on the floor in front of her as she bounced her knees while waiting for the results. A minute later, which felt more like a millennia, two pink lines stared right back at her. Say cheese!

"Well that definitely wasn't on my bingo card this year." A smile stretched across her lips as she picked up the test and traced her finger across the pink lines. She lifted her shirt and looked down at her belly. She laughed deliriously. Not a single physical sign yet. Except for all the other ones: fatigue, nausea, extreme horniness, insane hormones, sensational boobs.

"Hi peanut, it's mama. Welcome aboard, papa."

Two hours later…

Olivia sat in the middle of her bed, eating a massive NY slice, while scrolling on google searches through her mac laptop. She wanted to find ideas on how to tell Fitz and Lucas. In the past two hours since she confirmed her suspicions, she called her ob-gyn to schedule an imminent appointment. She ate two snacks to catch up on all the missed lunches. She ordered pizza and contemplated her emotions whilst she waited. The emotions were mixed but ultimately they were exhilarating. She thought about the transition between being a mother of one to a mother of two. She thought about how much she loves Lucas and felt her heart grow in size. She couldn't imagine loving a new baby much more. The thought made her want to burst into glitter and confetti. Instead, she thought about her husband and what he would feel, which then made her reflect back on her first pregnancy, and how she could've done a better job of telling Fitz the first time around.

Honestly, Olivia didn't think this would happen again anymore. Sure, after Lucas was born, she had foolishly thought to herself that she would have four more with Fitz. And then reality dragged them out of that fantasy very fast. As amazing as Lucas was and still is, the truth was that trying to have it all in the world while being a parent was exceptionally fucking hard sometimes. And Lucas was enough. Slowly, the fantasy of having a soccer team of children faded in the rearview mirror with the years.

But life had a way of giving back in the most beautiful ways. Sometimes, that offrande came in the form of second chances. Her and Fitz have spent weeks in therapy together working on renewed love, understanding, passion. Restored inner joys, compassion, elevated sense of self. And for their efforts, they received rebirths.

She was so happy and she wanted to recreate a new memory for him surrounding the news of fatherhood. They made a baby again. That deserved to be celebrated.

A whole small pizza later, Olivia slapped the top of the laptop shut. All of these ideas she read about felt too cliché and inauthentic to who she was in her relationship with Fitz. She decided when she told him tonight, it was going to be whatever felt natural and it was going to be great.

She drove to pick up Lucas from school at 5pm. He gave her a giant hug and even let her kiss his forehead a few times without protest. He was in a damn good mood and it made Olivia feel so much joy. Her kid was never an outright jerk, but he had his moments when he could be moody. Olivia wanted to enjoy every good day they had together. And today was the best day.

She was feeling indulgent, so she drove them for ice cream and completely spoiled their dinner. On the way back home, she took the longer route to allow for more time to catch up with her oldest baby boy.

Oldest. Lucas. Big brother.

Olivia felt tears rush behind her eyes as she listened to Lucas tell her about this new project he was working on for STEM class.

"Mom, are you okay?" Lucas looked at her quizzically. He looked exactly like his father these days.

"Yeah." Olivia responded just as a tear rolled down her cheek.

Oh. Damn hormones.

"I'm fine. Just brain freeze." Olivia fibbed.

Lucas snorted then reached into her cup for her ice cream. "I better help you."

Best day ever.

Fitz got home a few minutes after them from their impromptu ice cream date. Olivia was just contemplating between cooking a quick 30-minutes-one-pot dinner for her family or ordering takeout. They needed fresh groceries anyway. Takeout it was.

The security iPad plastered on the kitchen wall alerted Olivia of her husband's presence. She turned around at the sound of his steps and greeted him with a huge grin when he came into view.

Fitz's lips stretched into a content smile as well. "Someone's happy…" His tone was cheerfully puzzled.

Once he was in front of his wife, he pulled Olivia into his arms and embraced her into a sweet kiss. She tasted like his favorite ice cream.

"Et tu, Brute?" Fitz raised his eyebrows at her, daring her to deny she had their favorite ice cream without him.

Olivia rolled her eyes and chuckled. "Sorry! I was feeling indulgent."

"Did you at least bring me some, traitor?" He pouted.

Olivia laughed wildly. "Jeez, yes! It's in the freezer." She told him as she grabbed his face to pull him into another kiss. "Now kiss me and our baby hello."

Fitz's stunned blue eyes quickly flickered to her glowing brown ones. They let their eyes and their face do all the talking. An arched eyebrow, grinning pursed lips, batting lashes, dilated pupils, thumping heart. Validation.

"Yeah?" Fitz asked.

Olivia nodded happily. "Yeah." She squealed.

And then he framed her cheeks in his loving palms, leaned down and kissed her lips. Olivia could taste his smile. His lips felt like love. He lingered for a beat as they both basked into their new blessing. When they pulled apart, he simply pushed her hair back and rested his forehead against hers as he looked into her eyes. They both smiled uncontrollably.

Fitz kissed her cute button nose, and gently placed his hand on her tummy. "Hi, baby mama. This is the best news ever." He whispered tearfully. "I love you so much."

Olivia pecked his lips sweetly and sighed blissfully. "I love you so much too."

Fitz kneeled down on both knees in front of her and lifted his shirt up to her chest. He kissed her stomach repeatedly, smiling wider each time.

"Hi peanut. It's daddy. Hi."
