NOTES: Hi guys. I was supposed to update this around one week and a half ago. Sadly, Brazil went through an extreme heatwave and it was dangerous and serious. My city is never past 35o C and it reached 41. Above 32 I feel really sick, so I was beyond ill. 200 showers per day, not leaving the house for 2 weeks and 3 fans on my face 24/7. My pc is in my room, and my room in warm weather loves to cosplay an oven (I had to sleep in the living room, it was the only place in the house I felt like not burning - we have no ac or pool, so u can imagine the hell). Now the hell is finally over, we're back to normal temperatures for this time of the year and I no longer feel like I'll faint and end up in the hospital, so I can finally update.

This chapter is a bit shorter, I wanted to write more stuff for it, but I didn't want to keep u guys waiting any longer, so the rest will come in the next chapter. I have some ideas on my notes, but I'm going with the flow with this one, one scene per time, writing a bit per day... just be patient, it will be worth it, cause I'm really inspired now.

I hope u guys like this one. I'm trying to build some friendships and brotherhoods too.

Enjoy.

Chapter 3 – Jump, they say.

Alex kept staring, wanting to say something after the scene she saw, but decided to just keep quiet.

- Are you two ok? – She asked, suspiciously.

- Yes, we were watching some musicals and eating pizza. – Kara said, innocently – We made the pizza.

- You cooked? – Alex looked a bit incredulous.

- Oliver did… I helped – Kara laughed

- Oh… now it makes sense – Alex teased – There better be a piece left for me.

- We left 4 – Oliver said, offering her the plate.

- Thank you – Alex smiled

Alex sat across Kara and Oliver on the couch, grabbing a piece of pizza and biting it.

- This is really good – Alex said with her mouth full, making Kara and Oliver laugh.

- I'm glad you like it – Oliver said.

- Like it? I love it!

- Alex, how's Maggie doing? Is she better?

Alex swallowed the piece of pizza and nodded with her head, resting the plate on her lap.

- Yes. She was under the effect of sedative, but she was just fine. She asked me to thank you.

- Does she… know? – Oliver asked, pointing to Kara.

- That Kara is Supergirl? Yes… I had to tell her a few weeks before…

- Alex has a crush on her – Kara pretended to whisper

- Hey! – Alex threw a pillow at Kara that grabbed it before it could hit her head. – I mean… We're seeing each other, but… I don't know if she is that into me.

- Please, Alex… The way she looks at you says it all…

- Please, someone else's love life can be the subject now! You, Oliver… What's your situation? – She asked, smiling

- My situation?

- Yes. Are you married? Dating someone? Into someone… - She stared from Oliver to Kara.

- No, I'm not married. I tried to see someone, but with my line of work… It didn't work.

- Oh, I'm sorry… Did you have to lie about being a vigilante?

- No, she knows… - Oliver said – She is on my team, by the way.

- She's their Winn – Kara said

- Oh… - Alex said – Why it didn't work?

- It became dangerous. I was being targeted, I still am…It could be dangerous to anyone close to me… Now seeing what happened to my sister, I was right…

Alex looked from Oliver to Kara. By the way Kara stared at him, it seemed like she already knew all of this. She smiled. Finally Kara was letting someone approach her, even if it was just to talk. She felt happy, because Oliver clearly was someone that went through similar things her sister did. At least, the "I can't have a normal life because of who I am" part, her sister also had.

- I'm sorry for that – Alex said - And listening to you talking, it feels like I'm listening to Kara because she always says the same thing… You two have a lot in common – She teased.

- Stop – Kara said, laughing.

- What? I'm not doing anything… - Alex looked innocently at her sister.

They spent a few hours talking until it was really late and Alex went back home. Kara excused herself to go take a shower and go to bed. Oliver helped her clean and went to bed afterwards. He tried to sleep, but was finding really hard to. He couldn't stop thinking about the seconds before Alex interrupted them and kept wondering what would've happen if she didn't. He didn't imagine the look Kara gave him when he told her about his disastrous love life or when they stood really close to each other.

.

It was almost 4 am and Oliver couldn't sleep at all, no matter how hard he tried. He got up, only in his dark green shorts and scratched his head. He wondered what the hell was happening and why he was feeling so weird. As he got to the living room, he found Kara sat on the couch in her cute pjs, watching a different musical, in a really low volume, completely lost in her thought as it looked like. He approached, sitting on the couch next to her.

- Did I wake you? – Kara said as she lowered the TV's volume.

- No, I just couldn't sleep… A lot in my mind.

- Same here. – She gave him a tiny smile

- Anything I can help with?

- I was just thinking about what you said earlier… About how good it feels to know someone who goes through almost the same thing as you do. How nice it is to feel seen… And that I'll miss this when you go back home - She pointed at him and back at her, making Oliver smile back at her.

- Well, you did offer to come help me with Ra's, so…

- Yes I did. – She said – I mean… Afterwards. – She blushed, trying not to sound as silly as she thought she sounded. She fully turned to face him – It's nice to not feel alone for once.

Oliver's heart raced as he noticed the way she stared at him, just like seconds before Alex interrupted them. It had a special shade of blue, almost hypnotizing.

- It is – He said, locking her eyes with his.

Their faces slowly approached with both seeming unsure if they should just go for it or wait. He reached for her cheeks, caressing it as their lips were inches apart.

- I'm glad you found me.

- Me too – She said, staring at his lips.

Oliver just crashed her lips with his as he felt her soft hands on his cheeks.

His heart kept racing faster and faster as they deepened their kiss.

- I knew you were alive!

Oliver heard a familiar voice and opened his eyes, breaking the kiss apart.

- Who are you? – Kara stared at the strangers, getting up and ready to fight.

- I'm Ra's Al Ghul, Head to the demon. I came here to collect mister Queen. He should be dead.

- You won't touch him – Kara said, standing in front of Oliver.

- You can't stop me.

- You can't stop me!

Ra's took his hands out of his pocket, acting fast, craving a green knife into Kara's heart.

- Yes, I can.

- KARA, NO!

Oliver jumped from the bed, starring from side to side in the dark, sweating. He was confused. Where was Ra's? Was Kara ok? His breath was erratic and his head was spinning.

- Oliver, what's wrong? – Kara asked, rushing inside the guest bedroom.

Oliver kept staring confused at Kara.

- Ra's, he was… you… - He stared at her, still alarmed. – He was here… Ra's…

- Oliver, it was just a dream, it's ok. Ra's not here. – Kara said approaching the bed.

She sat next to him and slightly touched his cheeks.

- Are you feeling ok?

- Yes, I'm… - Oliver was a bit lost of words as he fully remembered the dream – Damn it! – He said, knowing for sure he was screwed.

Was he attracted to Kara? Falling for her, someone living in a different universe than his, a place he had no idea if he would be able to visit again if he wanted to? Of course that would happen to him.

- What? – Kara asked, confused.

- Nothing… Is just… I dreamed Ra's was here and he killed you with a kryptonite dagger and then stabbed me… It was so real – He was definitely not going to tell her the first part of the dream. Not in a million years.

- It's ok, he is not here – She smiled – You're safe… I'm safe.

Oliver started to feel calmer by the second. Kara held his hand, caressing it slowly and it helped him relax.

- I'm sorry if I woke you up.

- Its ok I couldn't sleep… I was already awake.

- Really? – Oliver raised an eyebrow – For any… particular reason?

Kara thought about that question before she could answer. She wasn't sure about the specific reason, but she knew she felt differently than the last few weeks. She knew she felt such a relief knowing she could talk to Oliver and feel understood, it made her feel warmth, less alone, she was enjoying having him around, getting used to it. She was afraid of getting attached because she knew he would be going back home and she had no idea if they would see each other again.

- A lot happened today – She said – I'm glad you were there to help us, it made me anxious knowing that if it weren't for you, my sister could have been severely hurt, Maggie too. So thank you.

- I would do it again in a blink of an eye. – He said – I'm glad I can help you somehow while I'm here…

Kara smiled, letting go of his hand after noticing she still held it. She blushed and got up quickly.

- I'll let you go back to sleep – She said – Good night

- Good night – Oliver said, watching her leave.

He stared at his hand and smiled to himself before adjusting in bed so he could try to go back to sleep, thinking about the first part of his dream, the one that made his heart race and realize how screwed he was.

The next day, Kara and Oliver got to the DEO after Kara got a message from Winn, telling them he needed to see them ASAP.

- What is so urgent it couldn't wait? – Kara said a bit worried

- We are almost there! – Winn said excitedly – With a way to open a portal back to your Earth. I have been doing research and studying a lot with a few materials I could find about multiverse and we found a way to create a device that could open this portal.

- And it would work? It could bring me back to my Earth? – Oliver asked, trying not to feel that hopeful before knowing it for sure.

- Well, I don't know if it would work, I just found out the multiverse theory is real so… We'll try and see what happens.

- Let's think positive – Kara said as she gave a weak smile to Oliver. – It can work.

Oliver noticed something in her eyes as she told him to be positive about Winn's work and he wondered if he was just imagining things, or maybe Kara was a bit sad about him going back home. He decided not to think about that now, giving the fact that he wasn't even sure if that would work.

- I have to go to work now, but afterwards, I'm taking you to get some new clothes – Kara said

- I appreciate it, but there's no need…

- Oliver, you can't just wear two of my cousin's old clothes for days… Just in case – She added – It will be fun.

- I hate shopping – He lowered his head in defeat – You won't let this go, will you?

- Nope – She smiled as he lifted his head.

- Oh the puppy eyes – Winn said as he tried not to laugh – You can't win against the puppy eyes, man!

- We can explore the city later – Kara said – If things are calm and there's no need of Supergirl…and Green Arrow. – She smiled

- I don't have money here Kara…

- You can work here with us at the DEO while we wait for Winn to finish the device – J'onn said as he joined the conversation next to Winn station. – We need an extra hand anyways.

- See? Problem solved – Kara added, not taking her eyes from his.

- Oh…k – Oliver said, defeated – Ok, you win.

- Yes! – Kara clapped her hands together.

- Welcome to the DEO, Green Arrow! – J'onn said as he shook Oliver's hand.

Kara left for work while Oliver stayed at the DEO, learning everything from Alex as she took him to a tour at the facility. As soon as it was over, they stopped by the training room and Alex smiled, opening the door.

- As a standard procedure, you'll be training with me for a few days

- Training?

- Yes. Kara had to once she started…

- I didn't start yesterday Alex. I don't need training.

- I know. But that's the protocol… Also, in your case is actually more about learning what you can do and your abilities… - Alex said – We know you for a short time and you truly helped in the mission, you also scared the hell out of Winn, but you saved my life, you showed to be focused on the field, but we need to learn more.

- Oh… Ok – Oliver said, feeling a bit of relief.

The last thing he wanted was to be treated as a beginner with ridiculous exercises.

- If I do this… - Oliver said – You'll let me train you afterwards.

Alex stared at Oliver with an unsure look.

- You do know I have military training…Right?

- Kara told me.. But I don't mean that kind of training… I meant my type of training…

- What do you mean? – Alex asked full of curiosity. She had no idea where Oliver wanted to get with that.

- I was Bratva captain. We learn a thing or two that can be useful…

- Oh… ok – She said starting to feel a bit interested – Ok, you win. Deal.

They shook hands and got inside the training room. Alex loved training people, they always left like they wanted to cry or something, but she knew Oliver wasn't anything like that. She was going to give her best anyways.

They started to train and it didn't take long for Oliver to take Alex down, holding her arms behind her back, making it impossible for her to move..

- What was that? – Alex asked incredulous

- Something I learned in the island.

- Ok, you'll will teach me that. – She laughed – Ok, again

Alex tried her best to knock Oliver down but it was impossible. It was like he could foresee her every move and stop her in time to make her lose her balance and fall down. It went on for a few hours, until Alex felt annoyed.

- Ok, you don't need any type of training – She laughed, feeling frustrated.

- I told you… - Oliver laughed as they left the training room.

- You'll teach me all of that – Alex warned – I have to ask you something…

- Ok

- You spent 5 years away. You were on this island… how did you survive it?

- I kept thinking about my family, my loved ones and how I needed to make sure everything would be ok for them, I had to focus on coming back… But as time passed by, and I ended up going through many things, in different places, I learned that what was happening around me was bigger than my need to come home. So I started to make sure the world was safer for them to live, even if I wasn't around them anymore. I went to many places when there was a lot to do to make everything safer for people.

- That's admirable, my friend! – Alex nodded – I don't know if I would be able to do anything like that in this kind of situation…

- The truth is that no one knows until they have to. I was a jerk before, an idiot. I had to go through a lot to realize the world was bigger than me… I think that was the star of my journey to become a vigilante…

- It must be a lonely life… I see what it does to Kara. – She said as they reached the balcony. – At first I was against her becoming a super hero. I see how things are for her cousin, Superman. It's a nightmare; she needs to be careful so people won't find out. I was terrified that someone would find out and take her away to some lab… That's why she started to work at the DEO with us.

- Listen, I understand the overprotective thing… I'm the same with my sister. But Kara, she's amazing. She can handle this life…And yes, it can be lonely. But sometimes you find people that understand and go through the same things you do. I have a team on my Earth, people with the same goals, to protect the city and make it a better place. Trained people that understand the importance of keeping a secret identity, of doing the right thing. They make things a bit easier. And I'm sure for Kara is the same, having you and Will, John… people who she can count on and talk about things she can't with anyone else, all of it helps.

- You two have a lot in common, you know? I can hear Kara saying the same thing – She teased. – But I'm glad to know she is surrounded by good people trying to do the right thing… That includes you.

Oliver nodded with his head.

- Speaking of lonely… - He said – It must be for you to… How's Maggie?

Alex was taken by surprise and laughed nervously, trying to avoid eye contact.

- What do you mean? She's fine…

- Ok

- I mean… Why ask me? Is not like I'm dating her or anything…

- Alex…

- What?

Alex stared annoyed at Oliver, crossing her arms.

- Do you like her? You did say you were hanging out…

- Yes, I mean…is nothing serious, but…

- Go for her.

Alex just stared at Oliver, not knowing what to say.

- You clearly like her, she must like you too, she knows about Kara so there's no issue there… Go for it. Life is too short…

- You know… - Alex said as she took a few steps closer – Your advices are really good Oliver… If only you would followed them yourself…

She patted his shoulder and smiled.

- But sure, I think I will follow it… I'll tell you how it goes – She laughed and left, leaving Oliver speechless.

What the hell Alex was talking about, he thought. Did she notice something? Was he that obvious? He didn't think so… Maybe Alex was just way too good at noticing those things. He knew she was right but he couldn't. Not when he had no idea if he would ever see her again.
