Well my friends from the U.S. tomorrow is Thanksgiving so let me give you the next chapter of Second Coming of the God of Thunder to read tomorrow! For those who do not celebrate the holiday here you go anyway.
Optimus470: Indeed
Guest: The Boreal Kingdom arc was planned to be short so I can write one downtime chapter before returning to cannon events.
Nylock: That would be a spoiler and no spoilers my friend.
Thor x Rose fan: Yes that is cliche and no that would be too similar to Dunedan.
Geyser: Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Vulcan: An encounter between those titans would be an epic one.
Akeno Himejima looked herself over in the mirror, the white dress chosen for today showed her curves perfect just as she wished with the bottom spreading out ending just below her thighs. She wondered for a second whether to keep her hair in the ponytail or let it down, she stuck to the ponytail. Next she moved to her closet to pick out a matching colored wide brim hat with a flower in it. Setting it on her head gently she returned to the mirror to see if anything was out of place, nothing was prompting her to smile although blush was slowly forming on her cheek. Akeno was never a shy girl but the emotion was running high today for this was going to be the first time going on a date.
She never foresaw herself going on a date with a guy after losing her mother but here she was dressing up and waiting for the man who loved her to pick her up and take to…where? Havarti never told her what the plan was exactly, maybe he was keeping it a surprise. She did like surprises. Hearing her phone ring she rushed over to find it was the Dwarf calling.
"Hello my handsome little man. I was just thinking about you."
"Hello my thunder princess. Ready for today?"
Akeno giggled, "Despite being delayed for a week, yes I am."
The delay the Priestess of Thunder mentioned was a Stray Devil running about Kuoh that Sona failed to exterminate. After that drama Rias wanted the Peerage to do a group training to improve their teamwork and cover each other's weakness. Now at last on July 31st she was finally going to have her date.
"When will you arrive to pick me up?"
"Right now."
As soon as he said that, a magic circle appeared in the middle of Akeno's house and the orange haired Dwarf appeared in her bedroom dressed in a blue and green plaid button shirt and beige shorts. His green eyes looked the senior student up and down and smiled.
"You look beautiful."
"I was hoping you'd say that." Akeno giggled before taking his little hand, "So, where are we going?"
Later
"This is the best food I've ever had."
Havarti smiled as he watched Akeno continue eating her meal. Havarti wasn't rich but where he took Akeno for lunch was an expensive restaurant in Kuoh Downtown. How expensive it was he would not tell but this was just the tip of the plan for his date, there were other things planned he knew she would enjoy.
"So, Akeno, tell me something I don't know about you?" Asked Havarti, he knew many things about the girl; a half Fallen Angel turned Devil, a powerful affinity to thunder and lightning, an excellent cook and tea maker."
The black haired beauty smiled that beautiful smile of hers the Dwarf loved so much, "I have six oni's as familiars. I can do everything with ease, such as excel at reading different types of energy flow, and I love BDSM."
One orange eyebrow rose slowly, "You love BDSM?"
"That's right. I inherited my sadistic personality from my mother and masochistic personality from her father."
The Dwarf cracked a smile, "Funny…I'm a masochist too."
Violet eyes briefly widened in surprise and excitement at learning he was an M, if they ever have sex…
"Was it inherited from one of your parents like me?"
"Not at all. I won't lie when saying I discovered and liked it from watching porn."
Akeno nearly spit her drink out at learning how he became an M, although the internet was were many people discover what their kinks and fetishes are. Akeno was just lucky to know what she liked because of hearing her parents doing it. Recomposing herself she leaned forward and kissed his forehead, "You and I are going to be such a wonderful couple. I can't wait to see our friends from Asgard react to the news."
Green eyes widened, "Speaking of Asgard, I forgot."
"What?" Blinked the Queen at her boyfriend's reaction.
"Tomorrow will be August and the 8th is Rossweisse's birthday."
That surprised Akeno, she did not know when Rossweisse's birthday was until now but she didn't recall being invited to anything planned for the Valkyrie. Still she could wish her a happy birthday come August 8th which she would worry about later. For now, she had a date to have with her new boyfriend.
When they finished their meal the little man of Nidavillir took her to the downtown area to browse the fancier shops for Akeno, which brightened her mood greatly. One outfit was a short white skirt with a sky blue tank top, another was a green shirt and red shorts with an adorable violet fedora, and with each question of how she looked Havarti would always say anything she wears is cute and each time she heard that, she would giggle cutely. When they finally departed the stores, Havarti's arms were loaded with bags of clothes he insisted he would carry.
The day was almost over and so was the date leaving just one last thing left to do. The couple made their way to the top of a hill were a tree was. Upon reaching the peak, they sat against the trunk and snuggled together to watch the sun set.
"It's so beautiful," Akeno said happily.
"Yeah." Havarti agreed, snuggling closer to her. All day Akeno's smile never faltered. Havarti had been pumped with excitement and when today finally came it turned into happiness. Happiness to finally go on a date with the woman he loved and showing her how a date worked.
"Havi, you really know how to treat a girl."
"Father always said to treat a woman with respect."
"Then your father was a good man. He raised you well."
The couple sat in silence watching the sun set, its light casting a pretty orange in the sky. Once the last of its light fell behind the horizon, Akeno spoke up, "Thank you for this wonderful day, Havi-kun."
Havarti answered by planting a kiss on her forehead making the priestess blush at the affection he showed her. When he suggested walking home Akeno insisted on just teleporting back to her shrine. Of course this was so he wouldn't have to keep carrying her clothes around but he brushed it off saying it was no worry.
With a flash of her wings, the Dwarf and Fallen Angel were outside the shrine. Normally Akeno would have used a simple teleportation spell but since Havarti wasn't part of the Peerage she had to rely on using the Fallen Angel method which Azrael taught her how to use during one of his visits. Akneo looked to the sky, with no city lights she could see the stars twinkle like lights from a christmas tree. She closed her eyes listening to the wind blow by, chirping of the crickets, the rustling of the trees, and the steady beating of her own heart.
"Tonight is so peaceful." She said before taking the bags from the orange haired boy to set them in front of her door to take in, once he left. "Asumoto, thank you for this wonderful date. I always wondered what my first date would be like and now that I've experienced it… I hope we can do more."
"Absolutely!" Havarti said with a smile, "We can plan one after your trip to The Underworld."
"Yes. Before you go I have to give you something first. I've been waiting all day to give this special thing to you," she said with a sweet smile. "Put your hands out and close your eyes."
The Dwarf obeyed and waited for—something touched his lips. It was soft, and… gentle. Peeking an eye open, he found Akeno kissing him.
Heh. She beat me to it!
"Was that your first kiss?" She asked after pulling away and blushing.
"On the lips, yeah." Havarti replied, face seeming to glow with happiness at this point. "I guess that could be considered your second kiss."
"Second?"
"I kissed your forehead first," He reminded the priestess who giggled before pulling him closer. He saw her lean forward to plant another kiss on his lips, one last kiss goodbye before-
"Akeno!?"
They froze at the shout and turned to the familiar voice.
"Dad!?"
"Azazel!?"
The Lightning of God was standing there in shock at what he just witnessed while the
Governor General was trying to hold in his laughter at the expression his friend was making.
"Why are you here?" Akeno asked - not in anger, but surprise.
"I… I wanted to spend time with you in hopes of trying to reconnect but you weren't home. So I went all over the town searching for you. Instead I find you kissing him in front of your home? What is going on?" Baraqiel said.
Akeno blinked at her father's words, she had forgiven the powerful man for the death of her mother but was surprised to hear he wanted to try spending time with her. That was so sweet of him to do. It would help her overcome the awkwardness she previously felt the last time she was around him during the training at Asgard.
Then a sly smile crept upon her face as she purposefully bureid Havarti's face into her breats. "I just got back from a date with Havi-kun~ He was so romantic~"
At that moment Azazael burst with laughter making him clutch his sides and try not to fall.
"Hahaha! You hear that Baraqiel!? Your daughter went on a date!? You should be proud of her! Oh I can't wait to see Rias's jealouse expression! Hahaha!"
The color in Baraqiel's face drained as his eyes went wide in shock, and knees began to quiver. He heard exactly what his daughter said but was finding it very difficult to form words to her reply.
"My… my baby girl… went on a date with… a boy?"
"My. My. Is papa not happy I'm dating a man? Would you prefer I date women~?"
Poor Baraqiel looked like he was going to faint, and Azazel laughed harder.
Asgard August 2st
When Ylva Olafsdottir arrived in Asgard she was greeted with a warm welcome by the Aesir and given a run down of the current situation regard Asgard, the Nine Realms, the alliances made, and the terrorist group calling themselves Khaos Brigade who was behind the attack on Olympus and the Kuoh Academy Peace Summit. The incident with Muspelheim caught her attention since it was said that fiery land was supposedly sealed off until a secret way to Surtr's land was discovered in Jotunheim, that piece of information scared the Elven princess greatly for if it should be rediscovered and unsealed then Muspelehim may try attacking Asgard. She voiced her concerns on that and was reassured the area was being watched by the Allfather's ravens and there Jotun allies. After talking with the king and queen she began settling into Asgard fairly quickly; first acquiring an apartment big enough to accommodate Sigrun, Alruna, and Herja, the three Valkyries becoming fast friends with Ylva, then attending Valhalla Academy to acquire knowledge of things he did not know since Wood Elves tend to secluded themselves from the rest of the world. By the fourth week living in Asgard she was recognized by everyone within the kingdom and today found herself doing something she never did in the Boreal Kingdom.
Bikini shopping.
The reason behind such a shopping trip was because summer vacation was coming as were the exams for the third year to graduate Valhalla Academy. Although they participated in the Battle of Olympus, Herja, and Alruna were still Valkyries in trianing but that would soon change once they become fully fledged Valkyries after completing there exams and like their fellow warrior maidens be sent out to lead the dead to Valhalla and protect Asgard and Vanaheim from evil that threatens it. Even Sigrun, despite being in Thor's team and seeing many battles, was still attending Valkyrie Corpse training but she too would pass without difficulty since Brynhildr personally trained her. Confident they would pass, Alruna suggested they celebrate by going to the beaches of Alfheim which they all eagerly agreed to. Despite not being a Valkyrie herself, the Elven Princess Ylva had been talked into joining them.
"I wonder which one Andreas will like?" Sigrun mused looking at the line of swimwear.
"Oh? Have you found a boy you like, Sigrun?" Teased Alruna.
Sigrun grinned, "Well I won't lie and say I have. Since our battle against Hercules atop Olympus I've begun forming a bond which has only deepened by each day spent together. Now, with summer here and plans for a trip to Alfheim, I want to choose a swimsuit that will draw his eyes to me like last time."
"Is that so?" Ylva asked the giggling warrior maidens while searching for one of her own. The last time she went to the Alfheim beaches was two years before her mother passed away; since then, her life had been dedicated to protecting the kingdom. That duty had prevented her from going shopping in Boreal, but when she did, it was only to get her armor repolished or jewelry. Now, with her new friends, she could. She picked a solid white bikini, gave it a quick glance, and then put it back, feeling it was not for her.
"Yeah. Andreas was…a bit of a brat when he first came to Asgard but he has changed and shown to be a good man with a knack for surfing which I intend to do with him. It's like Rota said; people need to be given a second chance."
"How about this one, Ylva? It brings out your hair." Herja asked, showing a yellow polka dot bikini to the Elf.
"Hmm no, not my style." Ylva replied and resumed her search for one.
"Speaking of people you hear what's happening with Lord Thor?" Said Alruna stepping out of the changing room with a dark blue bikini in hand,
Ylva nodded solemnly, after returning to Asgard Thor had gone immediately back to training, his defeat at the hands of the Dark Elves pushed him to put all his attention on growing stronger making him miss school, fall behind on homework, and skip family matters. If he kept this up trouble would happen or perhaps it has already started. The Elven princess saw it cause concern for Rossweisse each time she saw the Valkyrie. Speaking of Rossweisse…she hadn't come out of the changing room yet.
Alruna, also noticing she hadn't come out yet, knocked on the door next to her, "Rossweisse, are you okay in there?"
"Yeah!" The Allfather's bodyguard said, albeit there was a hint of timidness in her voice, "But why did you all have to give me so many to try?"
"Because we know, like Sigrun, you fancy a guy and we wanna help you find swimwear to draw his eye to you. It's no secret you like the Allfather's son. He's everything you want in man; handsome, kind, resourceful, wise, and powerful."
Inside the changing room, still wearing her clothes Rossweisse blushed wondering when her feelings for Thor began to form. It had to have been when she nearly died in the Excalibur crisis, the fear of never going on dates, getting married, having a family of her own, doing naughty things with a man all flashed in her mind when she bled out in Thor's arms. Now nearly two months after that battle the relationship between her and Thor was still as friends, friends she hoped would be what Akeno and Havarti have become. A week after returning to Asgard, Havarti said while visiting yesterday he and the Fallen Angel were officially a couple, after getting Baraqiel's blessings of course. Happy as she was for them Rossweisse was a little jealous she wasn't in Akeno's position, she never went on a date or held hands nor even kissed a guy, not on the lips at least.
The conversation she had with Thor and Gondul echoed in her mind. She didn't want to rush into a relationship but she also didn't want to wait forever. Perhaps now was the time to try and show her love to Thor and maybe somewhere in the pile of swimsuits laying before her there would be one to draw Thor's eyes toward her.
"Rossweisse?" Alruna asked knocking on the door again, no response came, maybe what she said upset the silver-haired genius. Suddenly the lock clicked and the door opened, a grin formed on the one-eyed beauty's face at what Rossweisse chose, "Wow, Rossweisse, I'm pretty sure that will draw the God of Thunder's attention."
Valhalla Academy August 4th
Azrael stared at Andreas who leaned back observing him and the game they played. The hybrid's reason for being here was due to his father delivering something to Henrietta; whatever it was he was kept in the dark. Since arriving the Governor General and Einherjar had been away for almost three hours, by the second hour the hybrid was battling the Greek in a game of Talf, or also called Swords and Shields. Their game had been going on for an hour and when it looked as if either was close to victory the other would turn it around and continue the stalemate.
"You keep scowling like that, you'll look like me when I joined Valhalla." Andreas' joke was met with rolling eyes.
"They've been in there for a long time."
Andreas paused in his action of moving one of his pieces, "Are you talking about your father and Ms Berg?"
"Who else can I be talking about?"
"Are you worried your father is flirting with her?"
"He probably is. He was looking at her when we were at Alheim and…" Azrael sighed before continuing, "Well it's hard for me ok? I was born out of wedlock so that makes me a bastard to the Governor General of Grigori. I know my species are seductive and lustful but I lived my childhood as a human. Now I am a Fallen Angel struggling to accept my father's advances towards another woman. Whose to say he won't have sex with her and another child out of wedlock?"
The Greek studied the board before shrugging and moving a sword, "Honestly man, if it happens it happens. Sigrun told me our choices are linked to the weavers of fate, if you are fated to have a second sibling out of wedlock that may be The Fates choice. But," He added before Azrael could respond, "Perhaps you can ask Lady Freya or another being with foresight to see what you, Azazel and Ms. Berg's fates are in the future. You can't deny why your father finds Ms. Berg right? She is attractive, beautiful, smart, powerful, and wise."
The Greek Einherjar made a good point, the blonde teacher had all those traits and the skills he saw her display in the battles they fought together showed she was a capable warrior any man would want by their side as a friend or a lover. Plus considering the foes he fought and how dangerous the Supernatural world is he too would want a woman who can fend for herself. In fact…he may have found one such woman…
"So what is your father doing aside from talking to the P.E teacher of Valhalla?"
"Well as of late he's been tutoring the Gremory Peerage and Sacred Gear wielders of Kuoh on how to properly use them. Asia has the most control of all of them. No surprise there since she was using it before the Church excommunicated her." Azrael said, preparing to move one of his shields, "He's made more Artificial Sacred Gears and even offered to give us both one."
Andreas couldn't believe what he heard, Azazel was offering him a Sacred Gear? The weapons made by God of the Bible to protect humans and slay Gods would be a great gift to be given even if it is artificial and considering what he could do compared to his friends the offer was very tempting. He wasn't a God with powers to destroy the world, or Valkyrie with knowledge in magic, nor even an Elf with great speed, or even a Giant with super strength, he was just a human reincarnated as a warrior of Asgard armed with a spear and shield destined to fall in Ragnarok.
"What do you think about the offer?"
"It is generous." Azreal said, "It would give us a boost in power and skill in the coming battles we will face. An Einherjar and Fallen Angel are nothing compared to our friends."
"Tell that to Kokabiel." Said Andreas, remembering the struggle Thor had against the Cadre.
"He was nothing against Vali." Retorted Azazel's son, "
"Only because Vali mastered his Sacred Gear. If he hadn't cut that bastard's power in half Thor wouldn't have won."
"Which I am grateful for him doing despite being a traitor to us. At least Kokabiel is freezing in Cocytus."
Andreas shivered, "Cocytus….he sent him to Hades realm?"
"Yeah. Is that a problem?"
"Considering he is among the Top Ten Strongest? Yes. Who knows what that bone head is doing with that Cadre."
"Uhm. I do. Letting him freeze. For a Greek you sure don't know your own Pantheon. Hades hates the Biblical Faction. When father tried paying a visit to check on Kokabiel, Hades refused him entry saying he didn't want another filthy crow sticking up Cocytus."
"Yikes. I didn't know he hated you guys that much. Yet why take responsibility to be Kokabiel's jailor?"
"Father never told me. Just that he was sent to Cocytus to be sealed."
Just then a door off to the side opened and out came Azazel and Henreitta whispering to one another very seriously. Then Azazel slipped something to Henrietta, shook hands, and, with a wave of the hand, beckoned for Azrael to follow him. Shrugging that the game had come to a close the young Einherjar collected the pieces.
"Tell your father I'll think about that offer of an artificial Sacred Gear. You may wanna think about it as well and while you're at it…perhaps talk to your father if he has feelings for Ms. Berg."
Azrael bid farewell to the Einehrjar and followed his father out of the hall. When they were in the car he said, "What did you talk about with Ms. Berg?"
"Nothing important. She seems to have taken a fancy to Rating Games. Since I was coming here to discuss stuff with Odin I asked Sirzechs to provide me with the greatest Rating games recorded in the Underworld to share with Henrietta."
One black eyebrow rose, "Ms. Berg likes Rating Games?"
"Yup. It started after a discussion about it with Rias. You could not imagine the excitement she showed at the battles she watched. I'm certain she will enjoy the Youth Devil Gathering matches."
"That sounds great." Azrael paused, then said very quickly, "Do you like Ms. Berg!?"
Azazel didn't flinch nor freeze at the outburst, keeping his attention solely on the road but saying in a calm voice, "Do I like Ms. Berg? Of course I do she is a very remarkable woman and-"
"Not as a friend! As something more! Like…a girlfriend…"
Azazel spared a quick glance to his son and saw tears welling up in his eyes. So…it has come to this has it? Baraqiel said he would have to have a talk with his son someday and that day had come at long last. Turning down a side road into a suburb he parked the car and shut off the engine. He had to choose his words carefully otherwise this may end badly.
A long silence fell on the car as the son of Azazel waited for his father's explanation.
"I'm sorry…" Azrael said after wiping his tears, "I talked about it with Andreas and I understand you would want a strong woman in the Supernatural world but it's hard for me to accept since I already have a mother."
"Azrael…"
"I want you happy, dad. I really do and if Henrietta makes you feel that way then go for her just…just don't forget the woman who gave birth to your son."
"Never." Azazel said, pulling his son onto a one-armed hug, "I always think about Alicia. If it wasn't for her I'd never have gotten such an amazing son."
Valhalla, August 5th
Freya was not happy, not happy one bit. Today she had been called by the headmaster of Valhalla, Vili, regarding her son Odin falling asleep in his classes for four days in a row. Her son's addiction to train nonstop was concerning the Goddess of Love deeply and she was not the only one affected by it, Rossweisse's concern for the prince was plain as day for all to see. She was not one to control the fates of her son but her youngest had to stop right now otherwise he would never graduate Valhalla and the final exams were approaching very soon.
It was bad enough he had skipped school days and missed homework but falling asleep in class was the final straw for the Queen of the Valkyries. Rising to her feet she ordered Vili to take her to Thor which was not very far, the two Gods found the prince throwing punches and kicks left and right unaware of his mother and uncle watching until the Goddess said his name. All he wore were a pair of sweatpants showing Rossweisse magic seal tattooed on his right peck. Oh how she wished her baby boy would spend time with Gondul's granddaughter right now instead of training. Calling on her Seir magic she peered into the brief future and saw many things; her husband's discussion plans with Azazel, Henrietta comforting Azreal, and Thor…lay sprawled on the floor.
So that's how my son will act…so be it…
"Thor Odinson. I think it's high time you stop your training."
"I can't. I must be stronger. I have to be stronger to stop the Dark Elves."
"What you need is rest and plenty of it. Four weeks have passed since returning to Asgard and you have spent it training. I commend your determination but enough is enough young man. Your friends are planning a trip to Alfheim and want you to come along."
"I wish but I have to-"
"Enough." Freya's stern tone stopped Thor from resuming training. "I am your mother, Queen of Asgard and I have asked you kindly to stop. If I must order you I will."
Thor grunted then resumed his training. Freya drew herself up to her full height and, with a single step launched herself at the God of Thunder at speed so blinding neither Thor or Vili could see her. Her title as Queen of the Valkyries was not for show; with one swift blow to the back of the head with a bit of sleep magic infused into her palm the God of Thunder fell to the ground like a tree. Foolish boy, so focused on growing stronger he wasn't aware of her attack. Bidding farewell to Vili she teleported herself and Thor back to his bedroom where she tucked him in and doubled the sleeping spells power to ensure he would be given a 24 hour sleep recovery. When he awoke she would have a long talk with him.
And long it was, as soon as Thor was awake she went to his room and patiently listened to him.
"This is the second time I have been defeated, mother. I needed help defeating Kokabiel, Bikou, Vali, and I should have let the Valkyries help me defeat the Dark Elves but they had to help the kingdom. I appreciate having help facing an enemy but I can't keep relying on that all the time. I have to fight my own battles. I need to grow stronger so I can finally use Mjolnir, become king, and rejoin the Top Ten. I must do this."
Freya nodded sagely, "Yes, you do make valid points but your nonstop training has forced you to close yourself off to the other and miss many important things, such as homework which you are in desperate need of catching up on. Your strength has grown in the time of training but you must not let it consume you. You will be king, and obtain Mjolnir, and rejoin the Top Ten but it won't be through constant training. Do not let the struggles of your past battles force you to train everyday. Even the greatest warriors must rest and live a normal life."
"But-"
"No but's Thor. Your friends are worried about you. Rossweisse is worried about you." She saw concern flash across her son's face, "Yes, Thor, Rossweisse is worrying about your training addiction. For her sake, take a break from training, study for your exams, and prepare yourself for her birthday."
Thor laid his head back and sighed deeply, Rossweisse's birthday was approaching fast and he had not found a suitable gift for her. Oh what a fool he had been letting himself get wrapped up in training to cause everyone to worry for him. Freya was right he needed a break, a very long break, then go look for a gift for Rossweisse.
Midgard, August 6th
"So this is were Lady Godul works." Said Thor after rounding the corner to look at a large building with the Norwegian flag flying proudly on the flag pole. Yesterday Thor asked if he could visit the school Gondul worked at, which was called Ime Skole in a town called Mandal, with Rossweisse which Freya complied to. Thus the Aesir prince and his bodyguard were teleported to a Norse Pagan families house before traversing the town and reaching the elementary school.
When they arrived it was lunch time allowing the two teens to meet the former Valkyrie outside the school. The elderly woman wore a clean but casual outfit a human teacher would wear in a school to educate young kids. She greeted them, being sure not to say anything related to the Supernatural world until they reached the empty classroom were they told her of the events at Boreal and the upcoming Youth Devil Gathering.
"Of all the troubles to deal with it had to be Dark Elves. They were quite a wicked bunch back in the day. The dark magic they could use was vile with the king of the Dark Elves said to have power to equal a high-class Devil. The fact that this Morkosvaldr knew me and you, Rose, is quite dangerous. At least his plan was stopped."
"For now." Said Rossweisse, "I have a bad feeling they will return. Possibly with the help of the Khaos Brigade."
Gondul clucked, "An obvious assumption, Rose. If the Khaos Brigade learns of the events at Boreal they may try reaching out to them. From what Azazel's spies have gathered this terrorist was founded with the purpose to create an opposing force to the growing alliances of mythologies. Who the leader is we do not know but the factions we know who are in the group are the Nilrem Magicians, the Old Satan Faction, and, after the battle at Olympus, heroes. How many heroes we do not know."
"If they are united, why not send all their forces to attack Olypus and Kuoh?" Asked Thor.
"It must be because the Old Satan's are too proud to ask for aid. The report from the Peace Summit attack said Katerea Leviathan commanded Nilrem and Creuserey Asmodeus had the aid of the Lich Queen but we can discuss it more later. I hope you haven't forgotten about your birthday again, Rossweisse."
Before Rossweisse could answer the bell rang signaling the end of lunch break and the kids to return. Seconds later the door opened and in came the children all hyped on energy eating and playing together. Many of them stared at Thor and Rossweisse but a quick look from Gondul put their attention back to returning to there seat.
When the kids were all seated Gondul stepped forward but before she could address the class a student pointed at Rossweisse saying, "Who's the pretty lady!?"
"That, Emily, is my granddaughter. Surely you can see the resemblance by our hair and eyes." The students began to talk among each other before the elder Valkyrie tapped her cane to silence them, "She, along with her friend, Thor, have come to share stories about Asgard just like Mr. Odin."
Rose and Thor exchanged looks, Odin came here to share stories about Asgard? There were humans who knew of Devils via contracts so this must be how Asgard has humans learn of the Norse Pantheon. Plus sharing it with kids will make their imagination run wild and hopefully have them follow the Norse Pagan way to keep Asgard alive.
"Mr. Odin said Thor died. Did he come back!?" Another child asked.
Gondul looked at Thor and smiled, "Yes, Astrid, he did indeed come back and has many fun stories to share with you all."
The child cheered and began bombarding Thor with questions to which Rossweisse ceased by putting a finger to her lips in a shush motion and all the kids quieted down.
"Mr. Thor is not the only one with stories to share." Rossweisse said, and her voice took on a much more gentler tone, "I too have many and will tell you one were we both went on an adventure together."
The adventure Rossweisse told the kids was The Battle of Boreal and it filled the human children with wonder. As she shared the story Gondul leaned in to Thor and whispered, "This isn't the first time she's told kids stories you know. Every time she is available I ask her to come in and share an adventure she went on or make one up. The way she captivates the children's hearts always makes me smile. She would be a magnificent teacher."
"She already is. She taught me so much about magic but I see what you mean." Said Thor as he listened to Rossweisse explaining how she defeated a vile Dark Elf.
When she finished it was Thor's turn and for his part he told them the Tale of the Three Hunters in which three brave warriors ran through the Land of the Giants to save a noble. He didn't need to go into too much detail like Rossweisse had done with her own but his story nevertheless intrigued the children. When he finished his own the children began to ask questions.
"What happened to other Dark Elves?"
"Is that noble a friend of yours?"
"I wish I could be just as cool and pretty as Rossweisse!"
"Those Three Hunters are amazing!"
"Alright, children, settle down. Eager as you are to have questions asked and hear more stories, it is time for them to go and for you to continue your education so you can move on to greater things."
"Like being a storyteller!"
"That's right, Misty. Now let us say goodbye to Mr. Thor and Ms. Rossweisse."
Twenty minutes later the Aesir and Valkyrie were outside with Thor giving praises to Rossweisse's storytelling skills.
"It…it wasn't that hard. You just have to come up with the right words."
"Which had us all captivated. I'm telling you Rose, you will make a great teacher. Maybe Henrietta can give you a few pointers."
Rossweisse blushed, if the Prince of Asgard said she could be a teacher maybe it wouldn't hurt to try it. Her grandmother was one and she handled those kids fairly well. She'd have to think about it.
"Do you wanna go home?" She asked not daring to say Asgard out loud in case humans heard her or worse, Khaos Brigade spies hiding among the people.
Thor looked around then smiled as he offered his hand to her, "Actually I was hoping we could explore the town."
Aqua eyes looked at the hand then smiled before taking it, "Yes, I would like that."
August 8th
At long last August eight had arrived and on that morning Rossweisse was browsing her closet within the palace pondering what she wanted to wear. The decision did not take long, she picked a beige long sleeve with wide ruffle cuffs and a sky blue dress, around her neck disappearing into her canyon of cleavage was a white pearl necklace gifted to her on her eighteenth birthday by her parents. Her parents…they were always busy barely having time to see her, sometimes not even attending her birthday. If they were able to come that would make her happy if not she understood, especially since the problems in the Supernatural world have gotten worse with the rise of the Khaos Brigade. Luckily no word had come of Vanaheim being attacked which was good, she did not want her home realm to be a target for the enemy.
As she adjusted her outfit and fixed her hair a knock on the door alerted her that someone had come to see her. It could be anyone, the Allfather, Allmother, or, the man she had been spending time with lately. Looking through the peephole she guessed right, Thor was outside wearing a dark blue short sleeve over a light blue long sleeve with loose jeans, a casual but cute outfit. The time spent with Thor in Alfheim and Midgard had been very memorable but she knew something better would eclipse them. Opening the door she greeted the Aesir prince with a smile.
Thor started the Valkyrie up and down the outfit she chose today captivated her beauty. Beauty he couldn't stop thinking about after watching her strip tease at Alfheim. That moment had mesmerized the young God to replay it in his mind forever and fill him with the desire to touch and kiss her. An act he was partly but not entirely surprised about, he loved her and he wanted her. Shaking the lewd thoughts away he returned Rossweisse's smile with one of his own.
"Happy birthday my amazing Valkyrie. It's a good thing your birthday landed on a weekend otherwise your grandma wouldn't have been able to come."
That was a fact she was grateful about, whenever her grandma did visit on her birthday on a weekday it would be after work. Taking his hand into hers she was about to lead him to the dining room when rapidly approaching feet alerted her. Turning about she saw Hlin running as fast as she ever did, hair flying about like a cape, before halting to a stop panting heavily.
"La…Lady Rossweisse…." She panted heavily.
"Catch your breath then speak, Hlin." Thor said.
Obeying the God of Thunder the younger Goddess associated with his mother took a few gulping breaths before speaking, "Lady Rossweisse you must go to the Bifrost at once. Lady Freya herself is requesting for you there."
Dread gripped Rossweisse heart, the Queen of the Valkyries needed to see her? If it was urgent she could not leave her queen waiting. She had hoped to spend her morning with Thor but duty called.
"Be safe!" She heard Thor called after her as she rushed to a window and dived through it, activating her armor in the process and flying as fast as she could. When she reached the Bifrost she was surprised to see not just the Queen of the Valkyries but her fellow warrior maidens, Brynhildr, Sigrun, Helmwige, Ortlinde, Grimgerde, Schwertleite, Alruna, and Herja gathered their awaiting for Himedall to open it. For so many Valkyries to be assembled with their leader meant it was a serious threat.
"Rossweisse!" Ortlinde greeted, "You received the message as well!"
"What is going on? Why are we all gathered?"
"Because I am indeed of you my warrior maidens." Said Freya sternly, "Skjult Dal is under attack and they need us!"
That was all Rossweisse needed to hear, Skjult Dal was a sacred place for Norse followers and it could not fall! As soon as the Bifrost was opened the ten Valkyries marched through the portal all ready for battle. When they reached the village they saw no threat, no buildings burning or people screaming and running, leaving Rossweisse confused.
"Wear is the threat?" She asked the Vanir Goddess.
"In the town hall."
Rossweisse turned her sights toward the largest building, whatever the threat was hiding inside she would stop it and return home to celebrate her birthday.
"I shall remain out here with the other Valkyries to ensure a barrier is cast over the building to prevent escape. Sigrun, you assist Rossweisse, the two of you should be enough to take the threat down. Should you need help I will order Brynhildr to step in."
Obeying the queen's command they spread out to ready the barrier while the family bodyguard and Emerald Valkyrie rush the building crashing through the doors to fly into darkness. Only the light outside gave them visibility but it was just a sliver of it, everything else was in darkness. Readying a light spell to light up the building she was stopped when the lights suddenly came on.
"SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROSSWEISSE!"
Rossweisse felt as if she had been caught in Gasper's Sacred Gear as she looked at the sight before her. Gondul, Odin, Henrietta, Havarti, Ylva, Bikou, Andreas, the entire ORC, Irina and Xenoiva, Azazel and his son, and Thor stood before her all wearing smiles. Everyone but her parents of course their duty to Vanaheim as she knew always kept them busy. Looks like it would be a birthday without them nevertheless to see so many gathered for her was truly heartwarming.
"E-everyone…" tears welled within Rossweisse's eyes, "Y-you tricked me to surprise me."
"Of course we did." Freya said, followed by the other Valkyries, "You think I wouldn't forget my bodyguard's birthday? It was Thor's idea and he did a fine job planning it at the last minute."
Rossweisse stared at Thor who bashfully rubbed the back of his head, she was touched by this being all his idea. Changing back into the clothes chosen for today she wiped the tears away before looking around the building. A large banner hanging above saying 'Happy Birthday Rossweisse' with the table filled with food and drink, her favorite food to be exact; roast pork with potatoes, and at the head of the table a magnificently crafted cake with aqua frosting spelling the number twenty on it. Off in a corner were a stack of gifts of all different shapes and sizes.
"This…this is incredible. Thank you, Thor."
"Ah well, I couldn't have done it without my parents and Lady Gondul."
The elder Valkyrie clucked her tongue, "It was still your plan, Lord Thor. I tried getting your parents to come but their duty in Vanaheim has kept them busy. Nevertheless, they send their well wishes and presents along with a message saying how proud they are of you, Rose."
New tears formed in Rossweisse's eyes, despite not being able to come they still managed to find time to get her a gift and praise her for the achievements she made. Regaining her composure she smiled, "I truly am grateful to you all for this surprise. Now let's have some fun!"
There was talk and laughter amidst the feasting when they ate at the great table followed by games of freeze tag in which Gasper had to try to freeze whoever was holding a ribbon, arm wrestling that Thor won without breaking a sweat, and a card game Rias discovered from a client who moved from America called Rainbow Pirates in were to win you must have two rainbows and no cards in hand. The card game had been the most entertaining with many winners of each round including one ending in a tie between Issei and Bikou. After eating cake, which was just as delicious as the food, the Allfather and Allmother were the first to give Rossweisse her gift with a pair of new Valkyrie gauntlets, they looked like the ones she wore and yet something felt different about them.
"These are special ones" Said Odin, "They are made of pure Mithril."
Rossweisse gaped at the Allfather, "Pure Mithril? How?"
"The Dwarves of Nidavellir found a new source of Mithril and it wasn't easy bargaining to have those made for you. Those gauntlets will serve you well if anyone with a melee weapon comes at you."
"That is a kingly gift!" Alruna exclaimed.
"It's more than a birthday present, it is also a thank you gift for being the longest serving bodyguard." Add Freya.
"Thank you, Allfather, Allmother. I will wear them with pride." Then a thought crept into her head, Mithrill was said to be the hardest material of the Norse Realm but was it strong enough to withstand the power of a Sacred Gear, especially one of the Thirteen Longinus or even Mjolnir? She was baffled when Sigrun gave her a book, "What's this?"
The violet haired girl grinned at her fellow Valkyries, "Something I know you love."
"We know you love." Added Ortlinde, "This gift is from all of us."
"What could it be that you all…" The 20-year old Valkyrie's eyes exploded from her head, locked onto the first page of the book her fellow warrior maiden's gave her. It was more beautiful than the Mithril gauntlets from the rulers of Asgard, "H-how many in total are in here!?"
"Between all of us…" Helmwige counted her fellow Valkyries, "Eight hundred dollars in total. Each of us took out a hundred dollars of our paycheck for a gift card of a restaurant and shop Sigrun told us you like. Inclduing Vanaheim Sweets, Treasure Trove."
Rossweisse stared at Sigrun who grinned back, those weren't places she shopped at, it was discount stores she loved. The Emerald Valkyrie deceived her fellow warrior maidens to let Rossweisse buy expensive things for free and it made her lip tremble, "S-S-S-Sigrun!? Why!?"
"Because you are my best friend." Said Sigrun hugging the silver haired woman.
"Because you are one of the greatest Valkyries I ever trained." Said Brynhildr proudly.
"Because we feel bad for how we treated you." Said Herja shuffling slightly, "We wasted our youth looking for boys to have fun with when instead we should have been following in your footsteps to be a great warrior."
"Your focus in school led you to where you are now; the Royal Families bodyguard and Lord Thor's teacher." Grimgerde said while Schwertleite and Alruna nodded in agreement.
"Alright, alright, it's my turn." Havarti said, pushing his way through the crowd to reach Rossweisse, in hand a beautifully crafted box, "The Allfather isn't the only one to give you a gift from Nidavillir made of Mithril."
Unlocking the hinges, Rossweisse opened the box to see a set of knives stored wtihin, "Oh…knives?"
"Kitchen knives." Corrected the Dwarf, "These will cut your food perfectly without dulling."
From her grandmother she was gifted a statue of what the humans depict the Valkyries as; warrior maidens wearing viking armor riding winged horses. Of course her parents would not forget their daughter's birthday and had sent all the way from Vanaheim a cookbook full of every homemade dish her family knew from breakfast to dessert. Her parents knew her so well.
"My, my, do you know how to cook?" Akeno asked.
Blushing, she clutched the book closely to her as if she didn't want anyone to see it, "It was a skill I had to learn after moving to Asgard."
"And a good skill to know for when you have a boyfriend living with you. Which is why I give you this." Azazel teased giving the young Valkyrie a long plain box.
Suspicious she opened the lid to peek inside then shut it quickly shooting a glare at the Fallen Angel while hastily putting the box aside. She should have known this man would give her such a gift but how had he known her size? That was a question she did not want to know the answer for. As for his son, the half-Fallen had no idea so he gave her 50 dollars to spend or save.
The Einehrjar and Elven Princess each gave her household items; a pair of pink oven mitts from Henrietta, another cookbook of Greek recipes from Andreas, and a sky blue apron with a wolf on it from Ylva. From the Angel Duo, being the devoted Christians they were, gave Rossweisse a cross and bible that left the ORC very uncomfortable to be near. Although not part of the Biblical Faction Rossweisse would hang it upon her wall insisting she would think of them when looking at it which brought Irina to tears of joy.
"Now it's our turn." Said Rias, offering Rossweisse her gift which was soon revealed to be a series of romance novels, "I made sure each of my servants got you something."
She had indeed; Vandill gave her cherry blossom scented perfume, make-up from Kiba, a bag of sweets from Koneko, Asia's was a white dress with pale blue polka dots, a keychain with Norse the World Tree on it from Issei, and finally Akeno. What she got was quite a surprise for the Valkyrie, it was big but very thin. When she unwrapped it Rossweisse felt her mouth fall open.
"Oh Akeno, it's beautiful." Said Rossweisse holding it up for all to see. Akeno had gifted Gondul's granddaughter with a beautiful painting of everything standing together with the World Tree and Nine Realms behind them. Rossweisse of course was in the center of the group with Sigrun on the left and Thor on her right who she realized was holding her hand.
"I didn't know you were an artist." Said Kiba, admiring the Queen's skill with a brush.
"I always had a knack with learning things with ease." Akeno giggled, "What did you get her Thor?"
Freya looked at her son, noticing his gaze was locked onto the painting. Particularly at himself holding Rossweisse's hand. The day in the garden seeing her bodyguard kiss her son flashed through her mind. They had grown closer since the many battles they fought together in and that bond would strengthen more. Giving her son a hard look she peered into the distant future with Seir magic and a smile formed on her lips.
"Rossweisse dear, my son's present won't arrive until after the party."
One silver brow rose, so Thor's gift wasn't just this surprise party he had something for her but would be presented later? Was it a secret gift for Rossweisse's eyes only or was it something he felt embarrassed to have the others to see? Whatever it was, it couldn't be as embarrassing as Azazel's.
Eventually the party came to an end and one by one each guest left, leaving Rossweisse to her thoughts. Of all the birthday parties she had, her twentieth was without a doubt the best, so many attended and gave her wonderful gifts Freya sent to the Valkyrie's room with magic. The romance novels must have been suggested by Thor since he saw all the books she had in her room. Speaking of Thor, he had not left with his parents or friends for he still had his present to give. He not only had a special gift for her but had planned this surprise party without her even knowing, he truly was a sweetheart.
It didn't take long to find Thor standing in the same spot after saving the civilians after his first mission: on the banks of the lake gazing up into the sky. Their was a gentle breeze and his red hair blew from it. He looked as if he was wondering about something, probably the present he got her. If it still wasn't here perhaps it was an event like an opera or a concert. Oh that would be fun to see.
"Thor."
"Rossweisse."
"When will your present come?"
Thor was silent, his gaze still locked onto the sky. Then he hung his head and sighed, "I'm sorry Rossweisse. I have no gift to give. I thought long and hard and looked for anything you'd like but I couldn't find something for you."
But Rossweisse shook her head, "But Lady Freya said your gift will arrive after the party. She must have looked into your future and saw you find something for me. Besides, your plan to surprise me with this party was a wonderful present. Thank you."
The regret festering within Thor's heart vanished instantly. She wasn't just happy for the party he planned but insisted he will get her something thanks to his mother seeing it in the future but what was that gift he would get her? Something physical to wear like jewelry or another gift card like the Valkyrie or something else?
"It's nearly sunset." Said Rossweisse, shading her aqua eyes to gaze at the sun. She remembered watching the sun set atop Asgard's wall many times as a child. Here it would be just as beautiful.
"I know what to get you!"
Rossweisse jumped at the handsome Gods exclamation. She watched Thor step a few paces away and whisper something into a magic circle before coming back and taking her hand. The Valkyrie didn't have time to open her mouth to say anything before a magic seal materialized beneath them and took them to a grassy coast were great mountains loomed on the horizon. Feeling a chill in the air she turned around to see they were at the coast were the sun was starting to set.
"Where are we?" She asked.
"The place you were born during the midnight sun, Svalbard."
"Svalbard… oh Thor." She had been to her birthplace a few times but not during one of her birthdays. To see the midnight sun during her birthday trumped every gift she received today, "This is beautiful."
"More beautiful than the painting?" Asked Thor, drawing closer to Rossweisse. He remembered staring at the picture Akeno gave her more specifically at himself and Rossweisse holding hands. That painting was the push Thor needed and he would have to thank Akeno for that.
"Yes. This is-oh…T-Thor?" She suddenly felt his strong arms wrap around her waist and pull her closer to him.
"You have no idea how grateful I am to you. You taught me magic. The truth about the Norse people, our people. Gave me more wisdom than my father ever could. And…HMMM!" He was silenced by the Valkyrie spinning around and threw herself forward to land a passionate kiss on his lips, her arms wrapping around his neck to pull him closer. Shocked by her sudden boldness he relaxed into her his grip tightening to not let go. At last in need of air they broke apart panting heavily, "Rose…"
"Do you feel the same for me?" She asked timidly, her red cheeks barely visible from the setting sun.
"I do. Always and forever." Thor whispered before touching foreheads with her, "I don't know when my feelings for you began, at Olympus, before that, or maybe when I awoke in Asgard seeing you smiling at me."
"What made you finally admit to them?"
"Akeno's painting. She drew us holding hands. That was the push needed to show my love for you. My feelings will never waver. I love you Rossweisse Midnight-Sunborn."
"I love you too, Thor Odinson."
So we now have two official couples both enjoying a sunset. I was flipping back and forth on having drama between Azazel and his son about Henrietta but scraped. I'm worried it'll get buried among the pile of character growth for canon and oc growth so I apologize if anyone was looking forward to Azazel growing to be a good father. We shall be returning to cannon events very soon my friends but first we gotta have another beach chapter! So next time you'll get more sexy girls in bikinis XD See you all next time! Happy Holidays!
