Author's Note from Mat49324: Don't look now, but it's my 34th one-shot ready to commence. Hope you enjoyed the last one, which was a remake of a scene from High School Musical 2 with a Totally Spies twist. I just have a laid-back kind of one-shot again that does involve water (I know, a lot of my one-shots do, but I don't care). Anyway, for now, here's The Blue Time Ranger if he's got something he'd like to say.

Author's Note from The Blue Time Ranger: Well, well, it's been a while since we've done a one-shot, hasn't it? How fitting that we're doing a one-shot about the end of summer in the middle of fall? ...and it's gonna be in the 60s for most of this week for me. Seriously, weather around here can go suck about fifty eggs with how much it changes. But let's not worry about that for now, let's get to the pool stuff! ROLL IT!

Title: Pool Jump Fever

Summary: Summer's about to leave. Does someone have an idea for a last hurrah?

Rating: K+

Story Created: 11/12/23

7:42 P.M. – The Spies' Beach House

"Can't believe another summer's nearly done," Mat told Sam as the two came downstairs.

"Totally," Sam replied. "Summers always are done in a flash, it seems."

"We're still going to beat the move-in day at Mali-U, aren't we?" Mat asked as they came into the kitchen and saw Britney.

"Yeah, I think we'll be ahead of schedule on everyone," Britney replied.

"Hence why we're having pizza and a movie marathon as our last hurrah," Sam giggled.

"Clover and Blaine should be back any minute," Britney stated.

"You getting extra snacks?" Mat asked Britney.

"Uh-huh," Britney replied.

He then helped with some extra chips and dip.

Sam had already prepared some popcorn herself.

"Should we get Nick and Alex in yet?" Mat asked when he noticed them outside at the pool.

"Nah, they'll come in when they want to," Sam quipped.

In the meantime, Nick and Alex were outside hugging and kissing by the pool – Nick in his board shorts, and Alex in her yellow starfish bikini.

"I'm gonna miss summer," Alex giggled.

"You say that every summer, you goof," Nick chuckled. "But yeah, I feel the same way. It really sucks that it seems to go by so quickly."

"Well, with us having fun and busting bad guys, it tends to make time go all wibbly-wobbly," Alex quipped.

Nick just smiled as he leaned in to kiss Alex again just as he got his phone out and asked Alex about recording a jump in together.

"Sounds like fun," Alex giggled.

Nick looked around, but nobody was out there to help record, and the nearest table didn't have a very good angle of the pool.

"Want an extra set of hands?" Britney asked, having changed to a bikini.

"That'd be great, thanks," Nick stated.

Britney took Nick's phone and gave them a "go" when she started filming.

Before long, Nick and Alex turned and held hands before they splashed in the pool.

"Oh, they jumped in," Mat told Sam from inside the beach house.

"You wanted to do one, too?" Sam wondered.

"You know what, yeah, let's do it," Mat proclaimed.

Nick swam back up to grab his phone again so he could film the two of them backing up slightly before jumping into the pool, spinning around in mid-air before landing in the water.

"Nice spin," Nick quipped.

Just then, Nick heard footsteps rapidly approaching them. Knowing exactly what this meant, Nick scooted off to the side, only for May to actually surprise him by deliberately running towards him, jumping into the air, doing a handstand off of his shoulders, and using that momentum to flip herself into the pool, making sure to do a stylish flip before landing in the pool.

"...you little show-off, you changed it up on me," Nick chuckled after May had resurfaced.

"Well, of course I did," May giggled. "I gotta keep you guessing, don't I?"

"...okay, point," Nick replied.

"Hey, is everyone jumping into the pool?" Clover wondered as she and Blaine entered the pool area.

"Seems that way," Alex responded.

"Then make way for the pool queen!" Clover exclaimed as she and Blaine did a flip of their own into the pool.

But the instant that Clover landed in the pool, Alex responded by spinning around in her spot, splashing everyone around her.

"Excuse me, Clover, who's the most athletic of all of us?" Alex taunted.

"Is that a challenge I hear?" May quipped. "I'll have you know the other Jellyfish Pirates think I'm the most athletic of them. You wanna see how you stack up against me?"

"Oh, you are on, girl," Alex chuckled.

"Ooh, this is gonna be good," Blaine quipped as Alex and May prepared themselves.

"More jumps or are we having another tussle like before?" Mat asked.

"Jumps of course," May answered. "And Alex has got nothing on me..."

"Oh... yes... I do," Alex scoffed. "Remember, I've been honed by W.O.O.H.P., and you should see me on the field. I've got a mean soccer kick, after all."

"But does that stand up to underwater talent?" May laughed.

"Okay, okay... let's not get too verbally abusive here," Blaine told Alex and May.

"I'm gonna second Blaine here," Nick chuckled.

"It's only a matter of time before someone totally crosses a line," Sam added.

"Not to change the subject, but are we bringing the food out here or still having movie night after this?" Mat asked everyone.

"That's a good question," Nick stated, realizing that now.

"Well, either way, May and I are settling this right now," Alex emphasized.

"I guess our pizza can cool off a bit," Clover replied. "But movie night's still on."

Sam, Britney, and Mat volunteered to be the judges.

"Two jumps... scoring up to ten," Mat stated.

"I like it," Sam quipped.

Britney was no different.

"All right, let's do this!" May proclaimed, and despite the trash talk, she naturally didn't mean any harm by it, and she knew that Alex knew that, too. That's really all it was, good old-fashioned ribbing.

Nick counted down from five, and both Alex and May made their first jumps, each one doing a stylish flip into the pool.

"All right, how'd we do?" Alex wondered.

Sam, Mat and Britney each held up nine fingers, indicating both Alex and May had gotten the same score.

"Then I guess this next one wins it," May quipped.

Alex and May jumped out of the pool, then backed up to get a running start before barging forward, both determined to make a "splash", so to speak.

When they reached the edge of the pool, they both jumped and struck a pose as they fell into the water.

"And survey says?" May wondered.

Sam, Mat and Britney held up nine fingers again, but then they pointed to Alex and held up all ten fingers.

"And that means a winner is me!" Alex laughed.

"Welp, I have been bested," May dramatically responded, high-fiving Alex to show that there was no bad blood between them.

When it was all over, Britney wanted a jump in the pool herself, and Sam decided to jump in the pool with her. Nick even got their jump on video, too.

"Thanks, Nick," Britney stated.

Mat was there with Sam's towel in one hand, and Britney's towel in the other. He was greeted with two "thank you"s from them.

When they all went inside, their pizza was still warm and somewhat fresh.

"Popcorn set, too?" Nick asked.

"You bet," Britney giggled.

Everybody stayed in their swimwear, even after Clover popped in the first movie.

"Should we go out again after cleaning up, or no?" Mat asked.

"I'm up for whatever, really," Alex quipped.

"Seems like things get pretty lively around here in the summer, huh?" May chuckled.

"Yeah, especially considering that summer's just about over, so it might be a while before we get to do something like this again," Nick sighed.

"That's always the one bad thing about summer," May replied. "That it ends."

"Tell me about it!" Alex exclaimed. "It feels like its takes forever for summer to get here, and then it's gone in a flash, and then freakin' winter just moves in and takes its sweet time like a neighbor who's mooching off of your chocolate ice cream!"

"...huh. That's an image," Britney chuckled.

"I guess the best thing we can do is enjoy what we've got left of summer, huh?" Mat responded.

"I hear ya there," Alex giggled.

"I'm surprised you guys didn't have a massive debate over pizza toppings this time," May chuckled, remembering the last time the spies had started a Great Beverly Hills Pizza Topping Debate (soon to be trademarked if May had anything to say about it).

"Yeah, we kinda didn't feel like making a spectacle over it this time," Sam admitted. "We can save that for another time. Right now, I just want to enjoy the summer time that we have left."

And nobody could argue with that.

Final Notes from Mat49324: Hope you enjoyed this simple one-shot. I know I had some fun with it, and I'm sure The Blue Time Ranger did as well. I may have another one-shot coming up soon, but for now, we'll leave it at that. Here's The Blue Time Ranger for his final thoughts.

Final Notes from The Blue Time Ranger: And that's another one-shot down the drain! (Sorry, I couldn't resist.) We really haven't done a one-shot since June, huh? Feels like a lot longer, really.

And that's about all I've got other than the usual sendoff. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, hope the site gets its email alert and view count problems fixed soon, and we'll see you next mission!
