On Today's Episode: Kandinsky and Kyle are on the warpath, using a massive illusion of sorts to attack the citizens of Future Beverly Hills, and it's up to the spies to take down the marauding madmen before things can get any worse. Can the spies nip this problem in the bud before Kandinsky and Kyle can think up another backup plan?

Act 3: Destiny Defeated

11:02 P.M. – Future Beverly Hills

The spies managed to get out of the pocket once they reached their destination.

"Okay, so, what is everyone running from, exactly?" Mat wondered.

"I'm... willing to bet it has something to do with that..." Melissa answered and pointed.

All the spies were flabbergasted at what they saw.

"Holy fish sticks, what the heck did Kandinsky turn himself into this time?!" Alex chastised.

"Whatever it is, we need to take it down quickly!" Klee emphasized.

Kyle was riding on what appeared to be a gigantic squid monster that shimmered slightly, no doubt Kandinsky's latest souped-up illusion. The monster resembled the Japanese kaiju Gezora.

"...whoa, that's an old-school kaiju he picked for this one," May noted.

"How does it feel, you little punks, to know that this is the end of the line for every last one of you?!" Kandinsky boasted.

"Um, isn't that supposed to be our line to you, magic man?" Future Nick called out.

"Yeah, in case you didn't get the memo, we've beaten way worse that this!" May proclaimed. "So how about you just steel your stupid little magician's cape and let's get it on!"

"Couldn't have said it better myself," Henya stated. "You and this Kyle Katz fellow could be the EASIEST foes I could take down in my sleep, too!"

Kandinsky heard that loud and clear and couldn't believe Henya making THAT statement.

"You are going to EAT THOSE WORDS!" Kandinsky shouted as the Illusory Gezora marched forward and started swinging its tentacles towards the spies, forcing them all to scatter so they could find a way to attack this thing.

"Try and make us, you washout!" Henya retorted as she flew up into the air (Nick had loaned her his Jetpack Backpack to do so, since he could actually fly thanks to his psychic powers) and dodged between tentacle strikes before flying in front of the Illusory Gezora and snapping her Wondercube down, unleashing a barrage of glowing cubes to batter the beast.

"You're really starting to get on my nerve with your constant buzzing, little girl," Kyle growled.

"Excuse me, but I'm nineteen, thank you very much," Henya quipped, borrowing a statement Klee liked to say a lot.

Not giving the villains a chance to retaliate, Henya flew back down to the ground and raised her Wondercube to unleash a blast of light that drove the beast backwards.

"All right, May, you probably know this thing better than us thanks to your knowledge of kaiju movies," Mat quipped. "Does it have any weaknesses we can exploit?"

"If it's anything like the movie it was in, I'd try using fire against it," May responded. "That's how it was destroyed in the movie."

"Well, then, I guess that's my cue!" Amber exclaimed as she appeared on the scene with Sucrose and Mona close behind her, tossing a trio of Baron Bunnys that exploded in the Illusory Gezora's face and drove it backwards, forcing Kyle to tighten his grip to stay on his ride.

"You really think that a little fire is going to stop us?!" Kandinsky bellowed from within his illusory construct.

"How about a lot of fire, then?" Henya taunted as she snapped her Wondercube down to create a large fire underneath the Illusory Gezora that forced it to back off quickly. Mona used her Ultra High Pressure Water Cannon to douse the flames once the beast was out of its range so the fire didn't affect the rest of the city.

"Hey, I think we're getting somewhere!" Haruka exclaimed.

"Oh, if that's what you think, then we're only just getting started!" Kandinsky laughed as he guided the Illusory Gezora into the air and made it float away.

"Wait, wait, so he's just retreating?" Alex wondered.

Suddenly, Klee gasped in shock when she figured out what was really going on. "Oh, crapbaskets, they're going after the beach house!" Klee shouted as she took off into the sky to follow the Illusory Gezora, leaving the rest of the group to catch up.

Thankfully, the beach house was still intact when they made it there, but the Illusory Gezora was clearly intending to attack it.

"Not on my watch, squid boy!" Klee shouted, firing a Final Shine Attack into the Illusory Gezora and forcing it to turn its attention towards her. "My little sister is in there, and if you touch her..."

"You'll do what, you little brat?" Kyle taunted.

The answer to that came in the form of a double Final Shine Attack courtesy of Nick and his future self that blasted the Illusory Gezora and forced it away from the beach house.

"How long can you keep that illusion of yours up, Kandinsky?" Future Nick taunted. "You may have some command of magic, but it can't protect you forever."

"Oh, you'll see what I have in store when I crush you and your precious beach house!" Kandinsky shouted as the Illusory Gezora raised two of its tentacles to attack the beach house.

Both Sam and Mat fired an Electromagnetic Curling Iron to disrupt the attack, their future selves doing the same with Cyclone Blast Hairdryers to keep the beast busy.

"Okay, I think we might need to take care of this quickly, before they actually do something despicable," Future Alex stated.

"Do you have enough power stored in your Wondercube, Henya?" Nick asked, to which Henya nodded, remembering what had occurred at Mount Rushmore.

"Actually, Henya, can you maybe give me that power-up this time?" Bridget quipped. "I really wanna cut loose on this thing."

"Be my guest, Bridget," Henya chuckled as she walked up to Bridget and tapped her chest twice with her Wondercube, sending a bright blue ray of light into her body.

"Um, magic man, you might want to stomp them first!" Kyle exclaimed.

"This is where you keep your eye on the birdie," Bridget taunted as she reached for her brooch. "Because if you blink... you're gonna miss it. Sonic Mode, online!"

The instant Bridget activated her brooch, the Illusory Gezora attempted to swat her aside with its tentacles, only for a bright flash of light to drive it back, followed by another flash of blue light.

"Ooh, this is gonna be good," Klee giggled.

When the light died down, Bridget had transformed into Sonic Mode, and her body had turned mostly bluish-black with a glowing cyan glitching effect affecting her body, much like Nick had in their last caper. Her Sonic Mode outfit was also ruffling slightly as if being moved by invisible winds.

"Now you're gonna see what the true master of speed is capable of!" Bridget shouted, her voice warbling and echoing slightly as she charged for the Illusory Gezora so fast that everyone else only saw Bridget seemingly disappear and reappear on top of the beast.

Kyle kept splitting his gaze towards where Bridget had been and where she was now, unable to believe she'd been that fast.

"Hey," Bridget quipped before kicking Kyle off of the Illusory Gezora so fast that he only realized he was falling when Nick raised his hand to encase him in a psychic bubble.

"And now for you," Bridget chuckled as she zipped back down to ground level and started running in circles around the Illusory Gezora, overjoyed to see how much faster she could move with this boost.

She also knew that this boost probably wouldn't last long, so she had to make this quick, no pun intended.

The other spies only saw the trails of emerald electricity and blue light generated by Bridget's running and the small tornado she was kicking up around the Illusory Gezora until Bridget skidded to a stop in front of the beach house and snapped her fingers.

A flare of incredibly bright light erupted as a shockwave of emerald electricity and a shockwave of glitchy blue light blasted outwards, utterly destroying the illusionary construct and sending Kandinsky plummeting towards the ground.

Nick raised his hand to catch Kandinsky in a psychic bubble just as Bridget's boost ended, the glitchy blue effect fading away and returning her to normal.

"And boom," Bridget giggled.

"Look at that, you lose again," Nick taunted. "Now, then, before we take you back to where you belong, I think someone here has something they want to say to you."

Nick dispelled the bubbles holding the villains, only for Future Sam and Future Mat to both slap Kandinsky across the face, with Future Nick and Future Alex doing the same to Kyle, dazing both villains long enough for Nick to re-bubble them.

"That's what I thought," Nick chuckled.

"Okay, so now that that's over, I gotta say, that was amazing, Henya!" Bridget laughed. "I thought I was fast enough in Sonic Mode already, but that was incredible!"

"Is that something you can always do, or do you need to fulfill some kind of condition to bestow that boost?" Sam wondered.

"It's actually limited by what I can store in my Wondercube," Henya answered. "Basically, every time I absorb some kind of energy into my Wondercube, even if I send it right back at an enemy, I keep a chunk of that energy stored away, and when I have enough built up, then I can bestow that boost. But as you probably figured out, it does use up my stored energy, so I gotta refill it before I can give one of you a boost again."

"Well, it seems like we won't have a problem with that, given what our enemies like to throw at us," Bridget chuckled. "But for now, let's get back to W.O.O.H.P. so we can check in and head back home."

"I'm all for that," Clover stated.

Sortiliena's Office

"Marvelously done, everyone," Future Sortiliena proclaimed once everyone was assembled in her office. "And I think you'll be happy to know that everyone here who was against you guys formally apologized for what they said once it was clear that you were being framed."

"That's a load off my toad for sure," Future Mat sighed in relief.

"I guess that means you all have to head back, then?" Kana wondered.

"I really do wish we could stay longer, but I'm sure our Jerry is waiting for us, so we should probably get going," Sam replied even as she and Mat moved to hug Kana.

"It was really fun seeing you all again," Klee quipped. "And thank you so much for helping us!"

"Hey, it's what we do, Klee," May replied.

As Future RiCO activated the Time Twister so the present spies could return to their own time, Nick walked up to Future Nick, who was holding Anya in his arms.

Out of curiosity, Nick raised his hand, and Anya made a cute noise before reaching out to touch Nick's hand with her own. And Nick instantly felt that connection. Even if this technically wasn't the same Anya he remembered adventuring with, she still felt the same.

"By the way, little me, thanks for the encouragement," Future Nick chuckled.

"I just hope I didn't scare poor Anya when I tore into you," Nick laughed.

"I think she's used to crazy things happening around here, if she's anything like your Anya is," Future Nick quipped.

"All right, everyone, you're all ready to head back home!" Future RiCO proclaimed as the lights on the Time Twister pinged on. "Give our regards to our past selves!"

After pushing the bubbled villains onto the transport pad, the present spies, Henya included, all stepped onto the Time Twister and waved goodbye to their future selves. After a couple seconds, the present spies were enveloped in a sphere of black-blue light that just as swiftly vanished.

The Spies' Penthouse

The spies were all enjoying a big lunch after that last caper.

"Really glad that's behind us honestly," Nick told the others.

"Tell me about it," Sam sighed. "I have to admit that mission did scare me inside a bit..."

That was when Jerry's image came on their TV screen.

"Welcome back, spies!" Jerry exclaimed. "And another job well done!"

"Thanks, Jer," Alex quipped. "Are Kandinsky and Kyle..."

"We've already put them under lock and key where they are also facing additional charges, too," RiCO replied as she materialized near Jerry.

"That's a big relief!" Mat exclaimed.

"On another note, WOOHP agents also assisted in your unpacking while you were away," Jerry added.

"Ooh, thanks, Jer," Clover quipped.

With that, the spies checked out their rooms. Their beds were made, their essentials were unpacked and everything.

"That's what I call excellent service from Jerry," Sam commented.

After everybody returned to the den, they were all excited to begin year four of their tenure at Mali-U.

"Well, in all that, we didn't even get to enjoy the beach very much before the mission got in the way," Alex chuckled.

"Despite we just ate, I'm all for the beach," May giggled.

Everybody agreed on that. Before they all left, Sam and Alex wisely left their engagement rings in their rooms so they wouldn't lose them in the ocean.

Beach

Mat and Sam were relaxing on the beach side by side, and that was when something hit Sam and she shared her slight worry with Mat about if that had happened.

"That WOULD be tough to comprehend, for sure," Mat told her.

("Never Gonna Let You Go" by Sergio Mendes plays)

The two couldn't help themselves and got cuddly while keeping their swimsuits on; Sam had gone with her old green swimsuit.

Alex looked and saw what they were doing and chuckled.

"Nick, you see..." Alex started before she saw Nick didn't need a prompting or anything.

Nick simply smiled and reached over to pull Alex into his arms.

Henya couldn't help but chuckle at how lovey-dovey they were being right now.

Haruka saw what Nick and Alex were up to, and she scoffed a bit that she didn't get a chance to tease Nick with her bikinis since she had one on herself. She saw Mat and Sam doing the same and backed off from any "Lovebirds" punch lines.

"Can't say I blame Sam and Alex if they felt pretty shocked that possibility happened in the future," Melissa stated, coming to Haruka.

"I suppose," Haruka stated.

In the meantime, Blaine and Clover were having a beach volleyball game with May and Nozomi.

"POINT!" Henya exclaimed, serving as the referee.

"We're not done yet, you two!" Blaine proclaimed. "We've still got some skills to unleash!"

"Talk is cheap, Blaine!" May laughed as she returned the ball with a cross-chop, only for Clover to do a sliding bump to hit it upwards, allowing Blaine to spike it back across the "court".

"Maybe we'll team up for the next game," Melissa offered to Haruka.

"Sounds good to me," Haruka quipped.

As Henya watched May and Nozomi scramble to retaliate against Clover and Blaine in what was probably the most chaotic game of volleyball she'd ever seen in her life, she had to smile.

She was glad she'd found the spies.

Henya glanced up to the bright afternoon sun, hoping that her friends back at the Society were doing all right.

What must they be thinking about her escape right now?

"Penny for your thoughts, Henya?" Alex asked.

"I'm just thinking about my friends," Henya answered. "All I can really do is hope they're doing okay..."

"Hey, when you're ready to go back, we'll follow you there and we'll bust 'em all out," Alex quipped. "That's a promise, and we learned the importance of keeping promises from a very dear friend of ours."

Henya glanced back at Nick, who was currently in the water and sneaking up on Haruka from behind to dunk her.

Was this what she'd been missing her whole life?

Totally Spies: Time to Come Home

~The End~

Final Note from Mat49324: Well, that's all she wrote for Time to Come Home. We hope you enjoyed this one, and that we may have touched on the possibility of a marriage falling through. While there was never any doubt here (theoretically), this was still a good project to do. For now, we hope you stay tuned for our next one, The Rage on the Stage, and that will be posted by The Blue Time Ranger. We also hope you'll stay tuned for my newest one-shot I did with his assistance titled Pool Jump Fever. And with that, here's The Blue Time Ranger for his final thoughts.

Final Note from The Blue Time Ranger: And that's a wrap on our latest trip through time! It's nice to check in with Klee and Kana every now and then, especially given the whims of baddies like Kyle. And did you really think we'd split up the happy couples? As Nick said in his rant to his future self, they're better than that. We've proven that no matter how many times the spies get knocked down, they can always pick themselves right back up.

And with that out of the way, here's what coming up next! Like Mat mentioned, we did a one-shot together, and we just finished up another one, too! (Just FYI, Pool Jump Fever will be posted by Mat, and Carnival Cruisin' will be posted by me.) As for what's next on The New Adventures, we've hit the halfway point of season eight, and a baddie we haven't seen since TNA season one is coming back, and this time he brought the whole band! We're rocking your socks off next time on The Rage on the Stage, which will be posted by me. So, until next time, have a fantastic day, don't listen to the screeching morons, enjoy this preview of The Rage on the Stage, and we'll see you next mission!

When they landed in Jerry's office, the rest of the spies were already there and suited up as well.

"I hope that didn't ruin your moment, Sam," Haruka chuckled.

"You're the one who walked in on us, Haruka!" Sam sputtered.

"Hey, you were just kissing," Haruka quipped. "It's not like you were doing anything scandalous."

"Down, Haruka," Nick stated, knowing how Haruka worked. "This isn't the time for you to be slipping back into old habits."

"Hey, I just like to have fun," Haruka laughed. "But back to the business at hand, who needs the business end of our hands today, Jerry?"

"Someone you haven't faced in a while, it seems," Jerry stated as the office viewscreen changed to a mugshot of T-Bone, the lead singer of Boy Candy, along with the rest of his bandmates.

"Holy crapbaskets, it has been a while," May quipped. "After what he tried to do to Idol Opportunity, he's got an appointment with my fists!"

"Recently, I've been hearing about a very strange rock song that's playing across Beverly Hills," RiCO explained after materializing in the office. "And anyone who's heard it suddenly starts getting highly aggressive and violent."

"Whatever it is, it can't be anything good," Nozomi quipped. "Is T-Bone or his cronies still in Beverly Hills?"

"Looks like they are," RiCO answered after checking the signal from her superdrone. "It seems like they're heading towards The Groove."

"Because of course!" Alex proclaimed.

"Guess we've got a washed-out boy band to beat down," Nick quipped.

The spies all moved to retrieve their gadgets before heading out into the city to find T-Bone and the rest of Boy Candy before they could cause any more trouble.
