Chapter 1: The Peace Treaty (1):
Pearl's POV:
This is my home, the underwater kingdom of Lemuria. I know, Atlantis is usually more popular. I guess we're always in their shadow. Oh, I'm sorry. I am Pearl and I'm a mermaid. Yup, as in a member of the Merfolk Race, our hair color is a mixture of blue, teal, green, and purple, our eye color is a mixture of cyan, aquamarine, turquoise, and teal, our skin color is a mixture of white, silver, brown, and yellow, and our fish tail color is a mixture of purple, pink, orange, and blue. Our fishtails are based on a mixture of the powder blue surgeonfish and the white cheek surgeonfish. I know that in your time, when you think of a little mermaid, you think of someone else. Well, sorry, but that's just a story... that happens to be based on my life. Moving on... for as long as anyone can remember, my people have been at war with the Kappas. Don't ask me how it got started, I never listened to the stories. And no, I can't watch the video... because in my time, they haven't been invented yet... in fact, I shouldn't even know about videos or Ariel... okay, let's move on from the paradox before I hurt my head. I'm more interested in your people then I am in that war. You should feel flattered, you have so many wonderous things like... this round thing. I don't what it is, but I love it. And... this... okay, I'm not crazy about the bag with the pipes, but I do love this flat wooden thing with the metal round thing on it.
"Pearl, where are you," asks Slippery, an eelfolk and my best friend.
"Slippery, look at all this stuff I found," I said.
"Pearl, we're pretty close to Kappa territory."
"If a kappa catches us, I'll use your tail to shock myself."
Then Same, Prince of the Kappas arrives. "Hello Mermaid," he said.
I then grabbed Slippery's tail, and I used it to shock myself. We then swam away, but Same was chasing us.
"What does he want," asks Slippery.
"Probably a date with my sister," I said, "you know how he has a thing for her!"
"I only want to talk," says Same.
"I promised my sisters I wouldn't fall for that again," I said. Then we ran into a vicious, man-eating shark. Thank goodness for that. "General Tarron," I said. I then hugged him. Fun fact, mermaids can control water with our singing and mermen can turn into shark creatures.
The General then changes back. "You have alot of nerve chasing her, Kappa," he said.
"Please, I have a gift for your people," says Prince Same.
He then holds out the remains of a dead octopus.
"I didn't know kappas were pranksters," I said.
"Unfortunately, it would be rude for us not to accept it," says General Tarron. He then grabs the octopus. Senshi then nods his head and swims off.

We then showed the dead octopus to my Father, King Pacific.
"I don't believe it," says my Father.
"What does it mean," I asked.
"A gift of a dead octopus means the Kappas... want peace," says my Father.
"If that's the case," says Porcus, the royal advisor, "I say we stick with war."
"Could they be serious," I asked.
"It's possible," my Father says, "the Kappas may want to end the war."
"Your Majesty, I would like to volunteer to speak with the Kappa Emperor," says General Tarron.
"Very well," says my Father.
"Daddy, let me go with him," I said, "I gotta see this for myself."
"Pearl, remember the last time you were on a diplomatic adventure," asks my Father.
"I apologized to the King Crab," I said.
"I'm glad you did, but I was referring to how you got yourself in danger! I can't risk that again."

I swear he treats me like a kid.

"Hey Pearl, what's up," asks Slippery.
"I wish I could go and see," I said.
"Too bad you can't just hide in the General's carriage," says Slippery.
"Slippery, you're brilliant," I said. I then kissed him, but there was a little shock, because I tend to forget he's an eelfolk and I swam off.
"Why do I have a feeling I'm going to end up in jail because she's going to get herself killed," asks Slippery.

I then hid in the General's carriage as he took off for the Kappa Empire.

We arrived and I snuck around and saw the General meeting the Kappa Emperor.
"General Tarron," says Emperor Kaiyō, "did your King like our gift?"
"He... was surprised," says the General.
"It was the finest octopus we have ever killed," says Emperor Kaiyō, "I remember it like it was yesterday."
"Emperor Sensō, are you serious," asks the General.
"This war has been going on for far too long," says Emperor Kaiyō, "many of the Kappas want to end as much as your merfolk do. I can't have my son part of this anymore. But if my empire and Lemuria put aside their differences and become friends, we could see that we are not that different."
It sounds like he means it.
"It would be nice to finally end things," says the General, "it's just... you kappas can be tricky."
"One could say the same about your people," says Emperor Kaiyō.
He has a point. Alot of us do tend to drown humans. Don't worry, I'm not like that.
"We're not that different," says Emperor Kaiyō, "we are both creatures of the sea."
"I'll talk to the King about a meeting between you two," says the General.
"I just hope I can persuade him," says Emperor Kaiyō. They then shook hands, and the General took off.
It then donned on me that the General is my ride home. I then tried to hurry, but then Prince Senshi got in my way.
"Oh, hi Same," I said, "sorry, I had to spy, but I'm so glad our people are going to be friends now. Aren't you?"
The prince then gives an odd smile. "Yeah, I sure am. I'll arrange a ride to help you get back home."
"Thanks Same," I said.
same then swims off. I then looked and saw something strange. It kind of looked like evil takeover plans, but I'm sure that's not what it is. Then I took another look and... wait... that is what it is! They're... something then knocks me out.
