Chapter 3: Revenge of the Sirens:

Pearl's POV:

Slippery and I were swimming around.

"I think I saw something," I said, "it was a round thing with numbers all around it and it had these pointy things.

"What is it," asks Slippery.

"I have no idea," I said, "wait, do you know what time it is?"

"No clue," says Slippery.

"If only there was a way to tell time," I said, "too bad this thing can't help with that." I then put it in my bag, but then I heard... singing.

Thessanora: Yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah
Oh-oo-woah-woah-woah-woah
I, yeah, ayy

Another Tuesday and we sleep in 'til when it's too late
'Cause summer is whatever you say
So, I don't mind at all, at all
It's a new place if we close our eyes and paint a new way
'Cause somewhere is wherever you say
So, summer turns to fall, oh-oh

And when the days feel like the same old circle
We'll bend the lines and make a new one
Just to find the place where time is free

So, baby, come with me
As far as eyes can see
So, baby, come with me
And what is will be

What is will be
And what is will be

You take a Wednesday, and you make it seem
Like it's the best day of the whole-wide week
You got that PCH type of energy, without the traffic, oo-oo
There's never bad days when a good time is whatever we say
And the sun's shinin'
So, what's your ETA? 'Cause I just can't wait to go, oo-oo

And when the days feel like the same ol' circle
We'll bend the lines and make a new one
Just to find the place where time is free (Chorus: time is free)

So, baby, come with me
As far as eyes can see
So, baby, come with me
And what is will be

Now what is will be, now what is
Now what is will be
And what is will be

La-da, la-da, da-da, da-da, da
La-da, la-da, da-da, da-da, da
La-da, la-da, da-da, da-da, da
Da-da-da!

I swam closer, but then Slippery shocks me. "We gotta get out of here!" We then swam away.

. . .

I then talked to my Father.

"A siren," says my Father, "this is bad. Long ago, a merman and a siren were together, but then the siren learns the merman was having an affair. Sirens have hated us ever since."

"Daddy, have you noticed how often the enemies we make are our own fault," I asked.

"And now you know why I try to set a good example for our people," says my Father.

My sister, Jewel then came in. She looked so happy.

"Jewel, where were you," asks my Father.

"Oh, I was just no where... except meeting the love of my life!"

"That's great, Jewel," I said.

"I hope we get to meet her," says my Father.

"FWI, there's a 99% chance I'll try to embarass you," I said, "just thought I'd give you the heads up."

Jewel then swims away, humming a very familiar song, but I'm not sure where I heard it before.

. . .

I was with Slippery and Porcus.

"I wish I knew who Jewel's new girlfriend was," I said.

"I don't think you should get into your big sister's personal life," says Porcus.

"But what if she's a cannibal," asks Slippery.

"Okay, first of all, that..." I then remembered we lived in the sea. "Okay, that's possible. Down here, pretty much everyone eats each other. Plus, what if this girl doesn't love Jewel? What if Jewel misunderstood something? Okay, that's it! We are going to find out for ourselves!"

"Oh no," says Porcus.

. . .

We then secretly followed Jewel.

"This is a bad idea," says Porcus.

"Have I ever been wrong before," I asked.

"Yes," Porcus and Slippery both said.

"Fair point," I said.

We then heard a song... the song that siren tried to use to lure me to her. We all hid and saw Jewel with a woman who has griffon vulture wings and a weeverfish tail with dark grey skin, blonde hair, and green eyes which means that she's a... siren.

"Thessanora, my Love," says Jewel, "I couldn't wait to see you any longer."

"Hello, my Darling." The two then shared a kiss.

"Jewel's in love with a siren," I asked.

"Maybe it's a sign that not all sirens are that bad," says Slippery.

"Now, my precious Jewel, I'm going to need you to get my your Father's trident," says Thessanora.

"I can't stand being apart from you again," says Jewel, "and to steal from my Father..."

"But my one and only, if you get this for me, we could get married," says Thessanora.

"Married? Oh, yes, my Angel, yes!"

Jewel then swims off.

"I have a bad feeling about this," I said.

"And once we have the trident, all the merfolk will suffer for what their kind did to us," says Thessanora.

"We have to find Jewel," I said.

. . .

I found Jewel with the trident.

"Jewel," I said.

"Pearl, what are you doing here?"

"I know your girlfriend is a siren!"

"You were spying on me?"

"N... oh, who am I kidding? Yes I was. But she's using you!"

"My Light of Joy would never do that!"

"She's a siren! It's her thing! You're under her control!"

"I'm giving her this trident and we are getting married!"

"I thought you would feel that way." I then revealed our Father hiding behind a curtain.

. . .

We didn't want to, but we had to lock her up.

"You can't keep me away from my Voice of Beauty forever," says Pearl.

"Daddy, how do we save her," I asked.

"I'm afraid the only thing that can is true love," says my Father.

"Thessanora is my true love," says Pearl, "she's the Queen of my Heart!"

"We better hurry," I said, "her pet names are starting to make me sick."

. . .

My oldest sister, Delphine tries slapping Jewel, but that doesn't work. "Nothing's as painful as being away from my glorious goldfish!"

Porcus tries some kind of weird dance, but that fails.

General Tarron tries clashing loud symbols together, but that fails.

. . .

"I did say true love," says my Father.

"But unless we can summon her first crush, we got nothing," I said.

"That wouldn't have worked anyway," says my Father, "her first crush was in to boys. Umm... why am I holding this key?"

"And where's your trident?"

We then realised that the siren took control of us and made us free Jewel, who now has the trident!

. . .

Jewel was swimming towards the siren.

"Well, done, my treasure of the deep," says Thessanora.

"There's nothing I wouldn't do for you," says Jewel.

"Stop," I said as I tackled Thessanora.

She then grabbed me by the neck. "You insufferable..."

"But... that's my sister," says Jewel.

"She's also trying to get between us, my Love," says Thessanora, "so she must be dead!"

Just as Thessanora was about to kill me, Jewel attacks her with the trident. Then our Father came and takes the trident and aims it at Thessanora. "Begone, Siren!"

Thessanora then leaves.

. . .

"I am so sorry," says Jewel.

"Not many can resist a siren's song," says our Father.

"But how did Jewel," I asked.

"I said true love can break the spell," says our Father, "and I think sisterly love counts."

Jewel and I then hugged. I'm glad to have her back.

Jewel's POV:

I was in our bedroom, looking out the window. I then heard something. It sounded like... her song. Then I was scared. What if I'm not over her yet...

In the next chapter, Pearl awakens the ghost of a pirate.
