Chapter 8: Enter the Sea Dragon:

Prince Same's POV:

I was still thinking about how that mermaid, Pearl humiliated us. I wanted revenge.

"Same," says my Father, "are you still thinking about how that mermaid, Pearl humiliated us? I know you want revenge."

"Wow, Dad, how'd you do that," I asked.

"I have an idea to make sure we make her pay," says my Father, "I learned that she was foolish enough to free Contaminus when he pretended to be someone in trouble."

"What a fool," I said.

"We can use that against her," my Father says, "there's a massive sea dragon and we can trick her into going to his cave."

"And then Pearl will pay for making Kappas look like fools," I said, "I'll write the letter!"

That mermaid won't know what hits her!

Pearl's POV:

"Ow, what hit me," I asked.

"Someone threw this bottle at you," says Slippery.

I then read the message. "Someone needs help," I said.

. . .

"This is a bad idea," says Porcus, "the last time you answered a cry for help, it turned out to be a trap set by a pollution monster!"

"Y'know, we probably should've found a way to reimprison him," I said.

"YOU MEAN HE'S STILL OUT THERE," asks Porcus.

"No plan's perfect," I said.

Porcus then slaps himself.

. . .

First, we had to go through vicious and hungry sharks. But I think they were nice; they had a book called 'To Serve Merman'... wait... it's a cookbook! Yeah, we had to avoid them.

. . .

Next, we had to go through a group of sea hags that wanted to steal my youth. I'm not in that big a hurry to grow up.

. . .

Next, we went through a group of eel women that went nuts around Slippery. We had to go before Slippery was forced to marry ten girls.

. . .

Next... actually it was a spa, but we were in a hurry and besides, Porcus was too cheap to pay them.

. . .

We then finally arrived at this big cave.

"Sure, is big," says Slippery.

"WE SHOULD LEAVE," shouts Porcus.

"LEAVE"

"LEAVE"

"LEAVE"

"MONKEY"

"LEAVE"

"I think your echo might be broken," I said.

"How is that even possible," asks Porcus.

We then heard something. We then hid and a sea dragon came out.

"I wish I knew where the others were," he said, "that's odd... I smell mermaid, wearing someone else's perfume."

"Okay, that's scary, how did he even know I borrowed my sister's perfume," I asked.

"Which one," asks Porcus, "wait, why does that matter?"

Then the dragon found us. "How did you get past all those obstacles," asks the dragon, "I would never have made it past the spa."

"Because I refused to pay all that," says Porcus.

"And I wanted to help the guy you're holding hostage," I said.

"Let me take a look at that message," says the dragon, "I'm afraid you've been duped. Whoever sent this message was just trying to trick you. Probably assumed I was going to eat you."

"And... you're not," I asked.

"No, I am one of the Seven Sea Dragons. I am Pelboss, the Fifth Sea Dragon. We're the ones who gave you... your seashell bras?"

"I was wondering where these came from," I said, "thanks for that. Believe me, I appreciate it."

"I have been looking for my brothers and sisters for too long," says Pelboss, "and now I'm lonely. It doesn't help that everyone's afraid of me."

Pelboss: Why do all the flounder flee
Every time they look at me?
Try, but I just don't fit in
I only make crustaceans cringe.

Though I thought I had a smile worth sharing
I don't know why I scare the herring
I'm so lonely, sad and blue
What's a monster to do?

Pearl: You've got to sing
A happier song
It's time to change that same old tune
You've got to move on
Pick yourself up
Brush off your scales
Get that old tired
Whale of a tail
Tapping along
Sing a new song.

So, come out of your shell
And get into the swim
There's a wonderful world
Waiting for you to jump in
Just say goodbye to the dark and gloomy
Come outside where it's bright and roomy
Try your smile on someone new
And watch what it can do
You've got to sing

Pelboss: I've got to sing
Pearl: A happier song
Pearl/Pelboss: It's time to change that same old tune
Pearl: You've gotta move on
Pelboss: I've gotta move on, yeah

Pearl/Pelboss: Pick yourself up
Brush off your scales
Get that old tired
Whale of a tail
Tapping along
Sing a new song!

"You are such a nice girl," says Pelboss, "who would try to sacrifice you to me?"

"I have a list," I said, "it's in alphabetical order. Now, let's leave this cave."

"Is there a shortcut," asks Slippery, "I kind of left ten girls at the altar."

. . .

I then took Pelboss to Lemuria, but there was one problem... the fact that everyone was afraid of him.

"Maybe this was a bad idea," says Pelboss, "my people have kept ourselves hidden for thousands of years. We were only supposed to observe you merpeople."

"Why," I asked.

"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh... well, we're big sea dragons," says Pelboss, "if you looked like me, would you want everyone to see you?" I then imagined myself as a big dragon and all the fun I could have. "That was a stupid question. Thank you for helping me realize that."

. . .

I then introduced Pelboss to my Father.

"It's... uuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh... nice to meet you, Mr. Pelboss."

"Nice to meet you as well," says Pelboss.

Prince Same's POV:

I was watching this. "Unbelievable! She made friends with that dragon," I said.

"What," asks my Father, "this goes to show, you can't send a dragon to do a kappa's job!"

"But wait," I said, "we can't attack them as long as that dragon's with them."

"True, we'll have to get rid of him. Luckily, sea dragons are attracted to shiny things."

Pearl's POV:

Pelboss was trying to fit in, but...

"THIS IS GOING TERRIBLE," shouts Porcus.

"TERRIBLE"

"TERRIBLE"

"TERRIBLE"

"MONKEY"

"TERRIBLE"

"You should really get that echo fixed," I said.

"I don't even know what a monkey is," says Porcus, "is it like a sea monkey?"

Then there was something shiny and it attracted Pelboss, luring him away.

"Hello Pearl," says a familiar voice.

"Prince Same of the Kappas," I asked.

"It's payback time," says Same as he attacked me. We wrestled and the Kappas were invading.

"The Kappas are coming," says Porcus, "the Kappas are coming!"

Same and I continued to wrestle, but then Pelboss came back.

"Are you trying to hurt this nice young lady," asks Pelboss.

"What," asks Same, "no... we're... good friends?"

Pelboss then scares the Kappas away.

"I think I figured out who introduced us," I said.

. . .

"Are you sure you don't wish to stay," asks my Father.

"I need to find my brothers and sisters," says Pelboss, "I have alot to tell them."

"Goodbye Pelboss," says Pearl.

Pelboss then leaves.

Prince Same's POV:

"I HATE THAT MERMAID!"

"MERMAID"

"MERMAID"

"MERMAID"

"BUILDING"

"MERMAID"

"Huhh, my echo must be broken."

Pelboss' POV:

One day, I will find my brothers and sisters and when I do, I will tell them that I believe the merpeople are worthy of the gifts we have given them.

In the next chapter, Pearl makes a new friend.
