I wrote this OS in one go after seeing that Thanksgiving was approaching and so I said to myself why not make this day truly unforgettable for the whole Rizzoli family and I had the idea for this fanfiction
As always I declare that I do not own R&I neither in the literary version nor in the television version, that it belongs to their respective owners etc etc. You are used to it
All errors are mine and this story came from my imagination. I remind you that English is not my native language and that I am French and therefore I have never celebrated Thankigiving

It was Thanksgiving Day, and Jane and Maura were anxiously awaiting their family's arrival for the traditional meal. They had spent the morning cooking stuffed turkey, mashed sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. They also decorated the house and the table with candles, fall leaves and miniature pumpkins and other Thanksgiving representations. They had put on soft music and lit a fire in the fireplace and Maura regularly ran her hand over her wife's stomach and both women loved it.
Jane was pregnant with her first child and she was starting to feel small contractions since the morning but she didn't want to spoil the party, so she acted as if nothing had happened. She told herself that it was normal, that it was just the baby moving. She focused on the preparations, on the tantalizing smell of turkey, on Maura's smile. She loved Maura more than anything in the world, and she was happy to give her a child and by mutual agreement, they had decided not to know the sex of their baby and then when Jane reached her 7th month of pregnancy, they decided to look for a first name and after spending hours looking for one, they chose together the first names for their unborn child: Angela Erin if it was a girl, Liam Vincenzo if it was a boy. They had wanted names reminiscent of their origins but Maura had refused Patrick because even if the fact that she was the daughter of Paddy Doyle, the head of the Irish mafia in Boston, was known, she did not want their son to suffer from that and Jane had refused Francesco or Francesca because she was still angry with her father for what had happened and she had told Maura that it was up to Frankie to decide whether to pass on that first name or not. Maura had insisted on calling their daughter Angela because she felt the Rizzoli matriarch deserved it and then Erin was her great grandmother's first name. Maura explained to her why she wanted to call her that and Jane admitted that her wife was right.
Throughout Jane's pregnancy, they had set up a child's room, with pastel colors and soft toys with the help of the entire Rizzoli family. They were ready to welcome their little miracle, Jane had gotten pregnant after the second time and when Angela found out, she had become the happiest woman in the world and she and Maura had put Jane through a quasi-military program but what had upset Jane the most was that she had to stop drinking a single drop of alcohol and had to take an office job in her third month of pregnancy and could no longer go down to the morgue because Maura would do it for her. had been strictly banned because of the chemicals and then Jane had to take maternity leave.
The doorbell rang, and Jane went to open the door. It was Frankie and his wife Nina. Jane kissed them and took them in and Frankie said
"Hi Jane! You look radiant!
Thanks Frankie! You are so kind.
No it is true. I've never seen you look so radiant, even when you proposed to Maura
Maura's love makes me so happy, I didn't think I'd be pregnant one day but Maura asked me and I couldn't refuse her
I understand you. Nina and I are wondering if it is time for us to have a child. She would like to be pregnant

I wonder if I will be a good father. Look what happened with Pa. I'm a little afraid to do the same and I don't want to put Nina or my future child through that.

Jane smiled and said
« Thank you Nina, that's very kind. I hope you will soon experience this kind of happiness
Oh but I hope so. I can't stop talking to your brother about it. We've been married for two years and I want to be pregnant.

This is Maura's work. She wanted to do something original »
Maura came from the living room and greeted Frankie and Nina. She invited them to sit on the sofa and offered them something to drink. She told them that she was happy that they came, that she couldn't wait to share this moment with them. She asked them how they were doing and Jane asked how things were going at work.
Frankie smiled and said
"We're doing great, thank you!" »
Nina says
"Everything is going very well at the station. Vince and Frost want to see you again soon and send you their best regards"
Jane asked
"And how are they?"
Vince is doing well and this evening he is with Josh and Josh's mother and as for Frost, he is with Susie

They talked like this for a few minutes, then the doorbell rang again. Jane went to open the door. It was Tommy and his girlfriend, who seemed very much in love. They held hands and looked into each other's eyes. Tommy's girlfriend was named Sophia. She was a young dark-haired woman of Italian origin who worked as a nurse. She had met Tommy for the first time when he accompanied Jane for a check-up early in her pregnancy because Maura was unavailable that day due to a case and had not been able to be replaced by Doctor Pike . They immediately hit it off and fell in love, saw each other several times and then became a couple. They were very happy together, and they were planning to get married. Tommy was happy that TJ got along well with Sophia. Tommy had of course come with TJ. TJ adored his grandmother, uncle and aunts.
Jane kissed them and ushered them inside. Tommy wore a navy blue suit that looked great on him and his girlfriend Sophia wore a red dress that showed off her figure and Tommy said while giving his sister a hug
"Hi Jane! You are beautiful ! Motherhood suits you perfectly"
Thanks Tommy! You are very elegant!
Sophia says:
"Hello Jane! It's always a pleasure to see you!
Hello Sophia! It's a shared pleasure"
Maura came from the living room and greeted Tommy and Sophia and complimented Sophia on her outfit then she invited them to sit on the couch and offered them something to drink and didn't forget that Tommy and Sophia weren't drinking alcohol because Tommy was a former alcoholic and Sophia because she didn't like it. Maura told them that she was glad they came, that she couldn't wait to share this moment with them. Jane asked them how they were, how their work was going
Tommy said smiling
"We are doing very well, thank you and my plumbing company is in more and more demand"
Jane says
" It's true ? I'm very happy for you. You worked so hard to get here
Thanks sis, it was hard but it was worth it"
Sophia says
"There were a few difficult moments in the hospital but it's okay, I'm used to it. We love our work, we feel useful!
Tommy kissed Sophia and said
"We love each other very much, we are on cloud nine! »
TJ is a five-year-old boy who had distinctly Rizzoli features, he had the same black hair as his father and the same dimples as his Aunt Jane. He went to see his aunt Jane and said to her after giving her a kiss
"Hello Aunt Jane! You're very beautiful !
Jane responded by kissing him back.
"Thank you TJ! You are adorable !
Aunt Jane? When will my cousin arrive?
Next month my little wolf!
Doesn't it hurt?
No, but it sometimes surprises me when the baby kicks"
TJ put his hand on his aunt's stomach Jane smiled and said
"I can't wait to meet you baby!"
Then he saw Maura and said to her after giving her a hug and a kiss
"Hello Aunt Maura!" You are very beautiful too"
Maura kissed him back and said
"Hello TJ, thank you very much, that's nice."
TJ says
"I made this drawing for you"
TJ showed the drawing he had made which showed his Aunt Jane with a baby and his Aunt Maura holding his Aunt Jane's hand and the two women and the baby were underneath a rainbow. Maura thought TJ drew very well for a five year old and Jane had told her once that Tommy was good at drawing. Maura thanked TJ for his drawing, which she found very beautiful. Then she went to put him in the future baby's room then came back and asked TJ how he was and how school was going. TJ says:
« I am very well thank you ! I love school, I learn lots of things but you know Aunt Maura, I prefer it when you explain things to me, I understand better when it's you
Your teacher is an excellent teacher
I know but I prefer it when it's you who explains it to me and then you're much prettier Aunt Maura. »
TJ's words made everyone laugh and Frankie said laughing
"Maura seduced all the Rizzoli boys"
Nina and Sophia laughed too because they knew Frankie and Tommy had a crush on Maura
Jane said laughing too
"Yes but it was the Rizzoli girl who married him"
Tommy responded, laughing softly
"Exact but we also found beautiful and very intelligent girls"
Frankie says
"Right bro! I couldn't have said it better."
TJ was first in his class to the delight of his family and then Angela greeted her children and daughters-in-law and her grandson and said
"Everyone at the table, the meal is ready"
When the meal was ready, everyone sat down at the table and helped themselves generously. Before starting to eat, Angela suggested that everyone say what they were grateful for. Frankie says
"I am grateful for the love of my family, for the love and support my darling wife Nina gives me, and I tell her I agree with what she asked of me."
Nina blushed and smiled and said
"I am grateful for Frankie's love and support and that you immediately accepted me as one of your own and for your love and I am very happy with Frankie's decision"
Tommy says
"I am grateful for my son TJ, for the love of my family who supported me when things were bad, I am grateful for Sophia who loves me and supports me in my business"
Sophia says
"I'm grateful for the love Tommy gives me, for the fact that TJ adores me and is starting to consider me his second mom and then like Nina said I'm grateful that you have me right away accepted as one of you and finally I have a special gratitude for Jane and Maura because if you had not decided to have a baby, I would never have met Tommy and I would not be as happy now"
Maura says
"I am grateful for the fact that I have a wonderful wife who is an incredible friend, I am grateful for all the love she gives me every day and for the most beautiful thing in the world that she will give me : a baby. Jane I love you so much and I am so grateful for that and I will always be grateful to this family of mine for accepting me from the moment I became friends with Jane"
Angela says
"I am grateful to have a happy, united family, to have wonderful children and beautiful daughters and an incredible grandson and I am so proud of you. You accomplished your dreams and that makes me so happy"
TJ says
"I am grateful to have a dad, an uncle and aunts and a new mom who I love very, very much! And then I can't wait to meet my cousin. »
Finally, it was Jane's turn to speak, and despite the increasing pain she was feeling, Jane said
"I am grateful to have a family like mine, to have brothers like mine who are in relationships with wonderful women, to have a mother like mine who always made sure that we lacked nothing and to have a wonderful nephew and above all I am grateful to have a perfect woman, to have the ideal wife, who has done so much for me and I adore him with all my soul and then..."
Jane grimaced and felt warm liquid running down her legs and realized what was happening: her water broke!
Jane says
"I will be grateful for an ambulance"
There was a little silence around the table and suddenly Angela, then Maura and Sophia, understood that Jane was giving birth. Sophia rushed over and checked her pulse and asked Jane how she was. TJ was starting to get panicked and asked what was going on and Nina said hugging him and reassuring him
"TJ, don't worry. Your Aunt Jane is having her baby
But Aunt Maura said Aunt Jane would have their baby next month
You know TJ, sometimes babies come early but it doesn't matter, your aunt Maura and Sophia work in the medical field and know what to do."
Angela said there was no time to waste and to call an ambulance. Maura picked up her phone and dialed the emergency number. She said she was the chief medical examiner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and that her wife was in labor and then gave her address. The person on the line said that an ambulance was on the way and would arrive as soon as possible and then Maura took Jane's hand and tried to reassure her, she told her that she loved her and that she was going to be a wonderful mother. Jane shook his hand and told him she loved him too. The other members of the family surrounded them and showed their support and Sophia was still with her then Jane saw TJ coming towards her, taking her hand and smiling at her and he said to her
"I love you Aunt Jane. I can't wait to meet the baby"
Jane felt a contraction and winced and TJ asked
"Are you hurt Aunt Jane?"
Maura says
"It's normal TJ, it's the contractions. It's the action of some of your aunt's muscles that will pull the baby out of where it is."
TJ reassured his Aunt Jane
"Good luck Aunt Jane, we're all here!

A few minutes later the ambulance arrived and took Jane and Maura to the hospital then they were followed by the whole family who had to wait in the ward. After a few hours of labor, Jane gave birth to a healthy baby girl. When Maura heard her daughter let out her first cry and cry like a healthy baby, tears came to her eyes and the midwife said
« Don't worry, everything is normal »
Maura wiped her tears and said looking at Jane:
« She already has a voice as powerful as yours"
Maura shook a little as she cut the umbilical cord then the baby was cleaned and placed against Jane which immediately calmed her down and she and Maura looked at her tenderly and Jane said:
« We did it, we're moms! »
Maura looked at her daughter then at Jane and said
"We did it, look she's perfect! Obviously she has your dimples » then she tenderly kissed Jane then Jane with a big smile said looking at her daughter who was looking at her:
« Hello my treasure ! I am your mother and then the pretty blonde woman who is next to me and who is crying with happiness is also your mother. You have two mothers who adore you. You arrived in the Rizzoli family which is a bit special but everyone in the family adores you even before you came into the world and you will see, there are other people who work with me, your mother Jane and with your mother Maura who adore you too »
Clinic waiting room
The Rizzoli family was waiting and Frankie and Nina had told Korsak, Frost, Susie and Cavanaugh who had come with gifts then a nurse came in and asked
« The Rizzoli family? »
Angela stood up and said
« It's us ! »
Vince told Angela that Frost, Susie, Cavanaugh and him were going to wait a little longer then the Rizzoli family walked in and saw Jane and Maura smiling widely. Jane held her daughter without her arms and looked at her like she was the eighth wonder of the world. Angela was also very moved and said:
« Oh my darlings! How are you Jane?
Tired, I have never been so tired! How did you manage to do that three times Ma?
I loved being pregnant, your father was so adorable during that time, he pampered me. It was nice to see. Basically he acted like Maura acted with you.
I understand but the pain Ma! Pain ! It hurts horribly fuc…"
Maura put her hand over her wife's mouth and said
« Sweetheart ! Your language! Don't forget we have a child and TJ is here! »
Angela laugh
« I only really had pain with you because you didn't want to go out, you were already very stubborn and at one point the doctors were thinking of giving me a cesarean section and then as if you had heard what was likely to happen , you were out in less than half an hour. For Frankie and Tommy it went very quickly, I even almost gave birth to Frankie on my bed, I was surprised because I was expecting a long delivery like for your birth but no, I gave birth in less than an hour »
Then Angela said seeing her granddaughter
« Oh there's the little treasure! How is she doing? »
It was Maura who answered.
« She is doing very well despite being born a little less than a month early, she is 20,4 inches tall and weighs 7 lb 1oz "
Oh my God ! »
Jane and Maura got a little worried and Jane said
« Ma ? There is a problem ?
No ! Don't worry, girls! I was just surprised to see that your daughter looks so much like you Jane
Do you think so Ma?
Yes, look. She has your dark, unruly hair, your chocolate eyes and your dimples. It's incredible ! »
Maura says
« That's right Jane. I had noticed it but I thought that since I wanted to have a Rizzoli child so much that I was wrong. She's a mini-Jane and I love it. »
Maura kissed Jane again and then Angela asked
« Can I hold her?»
Maura says
« Of course Angela »
Maura gently placed her daughter in Angela's arms and the baby looked at her grandmother with her chocolate colored eyes and Angela, still so moved, said to Jane while gently rocking her granddaughter
« Oh I feel like I'm reliving the moment when you were born. You looked at me the same way »
Angela began to sing a lullaby in Italian and everyone present congratulated Jane and Maura then Angela placed her granddaughter who had fallen asleep next to Jane and TJ asked
« Aunt Jane, Aunt Maura. What is my cousin's name? »
Everyone looked at the couple and Maura said
« Her name is Angela Erin Rizzoli »
Angela, surprised, said nothing. Everyone smiled because the fact that Angela said nothing was a rare moment and after two minutes of silence she asked
« Angela? Did you name your daughter Angela?
Yes Ma.
When we were looking for names for our child, we were looking for names that reminded Jane and me of our origins. It was me who wanted to give him that first name. Erin is the first name of my great-grandmother, the grandmother on my Irish side. I thought of this name because you deserve it so much and Jane agreed with me. And then you always treated me like I was your daughter, even before I fell in love with Jane »
Angela took Maura in her arms then passed her hand on Jane's cheek because she didn't want to wake up little Angela who was sleeping soundly then Frankie asked if he could bring in Vince, Frost, Susie and Cavanaugh, Jane said yes and said to Frankie to warn them that the baby was sleeping. Frankie did so and the second group came in and congratulated them and gave their gifts and when Maura said her daughter's name she saw Vince hold out his hand towards Susie and Susie gave Vince $10 and Vince explained that he had bet Susie with that Jane and Maura's child if it was a girl would have that name then after everyone had taken several photos, Angela told everyone that it was time to leave and leave Jane and the baby rest and that Maura would take care of them and they could come back tomorrow. Angela came out last and said
« From now on, Thanksgiving will be the most beautiful holiday ever »
Then she kissed Jane and Maura then gave little Angela a light kiss and said she will come back tomorrow and Jane asked her
« Can you bring me something? »
What do you want Janie?
Turkey ! I love the way you cook and I'm going to need some strength »
Angela smiled softly and said
« I'll bring some back for you both. Don't worry. Remember to rest because you have a little treasure who needs you now
It's a promise Ma »
Little Angela woke up shortly after her grandmother left and Jane and Maura said
« Hello little Angela! »
Jane saw that her daughter was hungry. Jane took her and brought her to her breast and her daughter grabbed Jane's nipple and began to suckle. Maura says
« I didn't think you would breastfeed him
Ma breastfed all three of us and you often told me the benefits of breastfeeding and according to Ma, the women in the family are real milk fountains. I hope I do too. I will pump my milk so that you can also breastfeed our daughter »
Jane and Maura watched their daughter feed and Maura said
« I have something to add to what I said before the meal. I am grateful to you for giving birth to our beautiful daughter »
Jane turned her head to Maura and said.
« And I am grateful to you for allowing me to do it »
Little Angela finished feeding and Maura showed Jane how to burp their daughter and then Jane lay down and fell asleep with her daughter next to her and Maura watched them with a smile. Maura couldn't stop smiling. She was married to Jane and had become a mother and she loved her new life and Thanksgiving forever became her favorite holiday.

I hope you liked this story. Excuse me if I made a mistake in the measurements but in my country, we don't use the same measurements as in the USA
One day I might write a story where Maura is pregnant but since I didn't like the part where Jane had a miscarriage so I'm making sure it's Jane who's pregnant.
