AN: I woke up this morning with this idea running through my head and I had to write it. I smashed this out in about an hour and a half. I have not read over it because family is coming over in a few hours and I still have stuff to do before they get here. If you see any glaring mistakes, please let me know and I'll fix them.

. . .

It was not often that the Fentons went on a vacation. They had a lot of responsibilities in Amity Park, and honestly, not many places were as interesting as home. Gotham was one of the exceptions to this rule. It was a gritty city with a more realistic population. Their rouge attacks were similar to ghost attacks, right? And unlike those preppy weirdos in Metropolis Gothamites didn't panic at every little attack. When an opportunity arose for FentonWorks to collaborate on a project with Wayne Tech Jack and Maddie talked it over with their kids. They decided to go the week of Thanksgiving and turn it into a mini holiday.

They left Amity Park on Sunday and arrived in the late afternoon. They ate out, did a little exploring and made plans for the next few days. The meeting was Wednesday, so they had the rest of the week for fun and family bonding. The Fentons did have fun. They went to the aquarium, the observatory, the history and art museums, and went to some famously haunted spots. They were able to debunk quiet a few of those spots as not haunted.

Danny was able to help several ghosts move on from their traumatic deaths. Jack and Maddie were able to capture two different ghosts that were activity hurting the living. Danny chucked those two into the Ghost zone and made sure that they wouldn't be able to come back. As a family they tried to come up with a reason for why ghosts weren't as powerful here. They couldn't come up with any satisfactory answers, and they were not willing to test any hypothesizes.

Finally, Wednesday came. The meeting went well. The Wayne Tech techs were a little thrown off when Jazz and Danny joined, but the parents insisted so the kids stayed. Jazz and Danny impressed the techs when they offered suggestions. Jack and Maddie beamed proudly.

It all went down hill when they left the building. There was this horrible laugh and everyone on the street scattered. Confused, the family looked around to see an ugly clown walking towards them.

"Timmy boy, so nice to see you! Why don't you come with Uncle Joker. I have a shocking good time in mind to show Gotham just how thankful I am!"

The clown took out a grabbling hook and shot it at Danny. A rope came out and wrapped around him. The clown yanked Danny to him. Jack and Maddie did not hesitate. In a coordinated move Maddie went after Danny to free him and Jack went after the clown. Jack took out his Fenton Spatula and stabbed the clown in the head. The clown dropped, sprawling on the ground. Jack made sure it was a body and that it would stay put before he went to his family.

Maddie and Jazz were untangling Danny then smothering him in hugs and reassurances. Danny was a little embarrassed, but he allowed it. He hated clowns and some reassurance that he was okay from his family was very welcome. Jack picked all three of them up in a bear hug.

There was a cough off to the side. "Um, excuse me."

The four turned to see a boy who looked remarkably like Danny. "Hi. I'm Tim Drake. Are you guys okay?"

"Tim Drake?" Jazz asked "as in the one that creep was after?"

"Probably."

"Tim Drake, one of the sons of Bruce Wayne?" Maddie asked.

"Yeah."

"Are you okay?" Jack asked.

Tim blinked at him, like he'd never been asked that question before. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm more worried about you guys! The street isn't the best place for this, would you guys like to go inside to talk? It would also be more comfortable to wait for the police."

Jack, Maddie, and Jazz looked at Danny, who nodded.

"Yes, that sounds good," Jack said. He was still holding his family so he followed Tim back into Wayne Tech carrying his whole world in his arms.

It took a few hours to get everything sorted. By the end of it Tim and Danny were fast friends. The rest of the Waynes had shown up, and it was immediately obvious that one of Tim's older brothers was smitten with Jazz. Clearly Jazz just as interested. The Fentons were invited to Thanksgiving Dinner at Wayne Mannor, which they gladly accepted.

. . .

That Thanksgiving Gotham celebrated like it had never celebrated before. It was a day that went down in history for how much kindness was shown by people to their fellow Gothamites on that day.

. . .

Thanksgiving Dinner was more like a fest. The Fentons came over in the early afternoon and now it was well past 8pm. Everyone was getting along very well. The happiest person was Alfred, who finally got to have a house full of love and laughter with little or no brooding.

The past 24 hours had really given Bruce a lot to think about. He went to Jack to have a serious father to father talk. "Thank you for taking out Joker. He has been a threat to my family for too long. Batman can't kill, because people need to be able to trust him, to know that he won't play judge, jury and executioner. There isn't much I can do as Bruce Wayne. Its been a constant worry. Thank you for what you did."

Jack clapped him on the back. "No problem Brucey. I know how important family is, and how impossible it can be to protect your kids. Just make sure they know you will always be there for them, no matter what." Jack's face turned serious. "Maddie and I almost lost our kids due to our own stupidity. Don't let yourself get in the way of your love for your kids, not like we almost did. It was a struggle, and it seemed almost impossible at the start, but we worked through it." Jack grinned again, serious moment over. "Family is for life and beyond. If you need any help, I'm happy to offer advice!" With that the man happily walked back to the food table.

Bruce watched him go, not certain what he was feeling. Family was the most important thing to him. That's why he started Batman in the first place. Having kids changed a man. Maybe it was time he actually showed it by shifting his priorities to prove to his kids that they came first. He looked around and saw Dick standing by himself for the moment. Bruce figured there was no time like the present. He went to talk and try to better his relationship with his oldest.

. . .

The two families became very close after this. The parents tried to encourage Jason and Jazz's relationship. Alfred was the real hero there, offering practical and serious advice, which really helped the two love bids. They did appreciate their parent's enthusiasm, though. Sibling teasing, not so much.

Over the next years both families turned into one happy family. Their love and support of each other was the most important thing.

. . .

AN: Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your day is filled with love and peace! If you don't celebrate the holiday, please consider telling the important people in your life how much they mean to you.
