Chapter 6: Over the Garden Wall:

Jack's POV:

Jill, Peter, and I were still walking, but now we're lost.

"I have a bad feeling about this," says Peter.

"What is this place," asks Jill.

We then walked and there was a strange light. Then something grabbed us.

. . .

I opened my eyes and we saw this hairy elephant man.

"I just saved your lives," he said.

"Who or what are you," I asked.

"My name is Gazpacho," he said, "and like I said, I just saved you!"

"From what," asks Jill.

"From the Beast! So, what are you guys in for," asks Gazpacho.

"What are you talking about," asks Peter.

"This... this is the Unknown! A realm that Aku uses as a prison!"

"This is Aku's jail," asks Peter.

"And there's this evil creature that roams this place," says Gazpacho, "he carries this lantern he uses to take people's souls!"

"What is your crime," I asked.

"Aku just doesn't like me," says Gazpacho.

"Take us to the other prisoners," I said.

. . .

Gazpacho then shows us Aku's prisoners. They are named Commander Hoo-Ha, Carl Chryniszzswics, Principal Pixiefrog, Muscle Man, Rodney J. Squirrel, Grizz, Panda, Ice Bear, Charlene, and Pineapple.

"Most of them are imprisoned for being annoying," says Gazpacho, "and they have to hide from the Beast. He and Aku are good friends."

"We will get you out of here," I said, "but first, we must deal with this Beast."

. . .

We came across a tavern, but it was no help. Everyone there was too busy singing to give us information.

"I'm the Highway Man!"

"That is nice," says Peter.

"I'm the Highway Man! I make ends meat just like anyone else!"

We then left.

. . .

We then went on a journey through the Unknown.

"I wonder what this beast looks like," says Jill.

"Maybe he's made of edelwood, with twisted face and holes covering his body. He probably has antlers that look like branches. I bet he has a mouth, a nose, but no ears. And maybe arms with long-fingered hands."

"That's probably it," says Peter.

We then realized the Beast was there.

"You must be the Beast," I said.

"And you must be Samurai Jack," says the Beast, "Aku told me so much about you."

The Beast and I then fought. The Beast kept dodging my sword. He was also very protective of the lantern. I wonder why. The Beast was then hiding in the shadows.

"Show yourself you coward," I said.

Beast: Come wayward Souls
That wander through the darkness
There is a light for the lost and the meek
Sorrow and fear
Are easily forgotten
When you submit to the soil of the earth!

"The Future sure is harmonious," says Peter.

"Maybe Aku watches alot of musicals," says Jill.

I was looking for the Beast.

"Look at you," says the Beast, "a man out of time. A lost fool! Stranded in a land you do not know. You may never return to your time!"

The Beast was trying to get in my head... but I refuse to allow him... then I realized. He tried to keep the lantern safe. What if that isn't just because of the souls within it? What if... The Beast was about to attack me, but then I broke his lantern with my sword. The Beast then screams in pain and disappears.

"What happened," says Jill.

"As I figured," I said, "his soul was in the lantern!"

. . .

"The Beast is vanquished," I said.

"Thank you," says Gazpacho, "but unfortunately, that doesn't free us."

"I know," I said, "none of you are free until Aku is defeated."

"If there's any way we can thank you," says Gazpacho.

"There is one thing," I said.

. . .

Gazpacho told us there is someone who can tell us where to find a way back to our time.
