Chapter 17: Party Time:

Pearl's POV:

I was secretly spying on Jewel and Nadia. I'm pretty sure they haven't noticed me.

"We can see you, Pearl," says Jewel.

I was so sure I mastered stealth. I then swam to them.

"So, what are you two talking about," I asked.

"Well, I'm going to this big party," says Nadia, "there will be no kappas or sirens or ghost pirates or Atlanteans or gangster fish."

"What about pollution demons," I asked.

"Oh, that I didn't think of," says Nadia. We all laughed. "No seriously, we better hope Contaminus would be too busy."

Contaminus' POV:

I was sitting on my couch eating junkfood. So I'm busy.

Pearl's POV:

"Well, have fun you two." I was about to swim away.

"Why don't you join us," asks Nadia.

"Really," I asked.

"You'd have fun," says Jewel.

I am there... oh wait, I should probably say that out loud. "I am there!"

. . .

"You can't go," says my Father.

"But Jewel and Nadia will be there," I said.

"I do trust Jewel, but I'm still not so sure about Nadia."

"Please, I'll be safe and I'm sure they're both very responsible."

"Well, alright."

Thank you Daddy... oh wait, I did it again. "Thank you Daddy."

. . .

We were on our way.

"Welcome to Kásskara," says Nadia, "I've done a few shows here and they really know how to party."

"This will be amazing," I said.

The Merfolk in Kásskara share the skin, hair, tail, and eye colors as us except that their fishtails resemble a sockeye salmon.

Slippery's POV:

Porcus and I were secretly following them.

"You know I don't like teen parties," says Porcus, "what if they make fun of my age?"

"How many teens do you know that actually do that," I asked.

"Actually, most of the King's daughters do. You didn't notice?"

"Oh... uhh... let's go."

. . .

We were sneaking in, but then these girls grabbed us and made us dance with them.

Chorus: Shake, shake, shake, Senora, shake your body line
Shake, shake, shake, Senora, shake it all the time
Work, work, work, Senora, work your body line
Work, work, work, Senora, work it all the time

Pearl's POV:

I was having a great time.

"This was..." I then realized Jewel and Nadia were a little busy. "I'll just leave you two alone." I then swam away.

. . .

I was swimming when something grabbed me. "What in the..."

"Hello Mermaid." It was Same, the Prince of the Kappas.

. . .

I woke up and saw I was Same's prisoner... deja vu.

"Who invited you to this party," I asked.

"The Princess of Kásskara," says Same, "she has a thing for me, but I'm interested in your sister, Ianthe."

"You know she's into girls, right," I asked.

"So she keeps claiming," says Same, "but right now, I'm more interested in finally making you pay for humiliating my people before."

Maybe I should start letting others handle these things. "What are you going to do," I asked.

"Say hello to Rock Bottom," says Same, "I'm going to trap you down there. Once something gets stuck down there, they can never come back up! Goodbye Pearl."

Slippery's POV:

Porcus and I finally got away from those girls.

"Who knew we were so handsome," says Porcus.

"What are you guys doing here," asks Jewel as she appears with Nadia's lipstick over her face.

"We came to make sure Pearl would be alright," I said.

Then the Princess of Kásskara showed up. "Has anyone seen my future boyfriend? He's a kappa."

The three of us had a bad feeling about that.

Pearl's POV:

"Say goodbye," says Same, but then Jewel tackled him and Slippery and Porcus managed to untie me. I then grabbed a rock and hit him with it.

"So, what do we do with Turtleface here," asks Jewel.

"I have an idea." I then picked up the unconscious Same and held him in a certain position.

"Same," asks the Princess of Kásskara, "what is going on?"

"Oh no," I said, not meaning it, "now she knows about our secret affair."

"That two-timing turtle!"

Same wakes up. "Where am I?" The Princess then attacks him and we all laughed.

. . .

"I'm sorry that happened," says Nadia, "if I knew..."

"It's not your fault," I said, "that kind of stuff happens a lot. Now, let's go home. I've had enough partying. We then swam off." Oops, that one was supposed to be me narrating.

In the next chapter, Pearl meets another sea dragon.
