Chapter 11: Whatever Happened to Robot Jones?:

Jack's POV:

We were walking through a land known as Delaware. One of many places Aku has poisoned.

"I think I heard something," says Jill.

We ran into Beetledrones!

"The Samurai and friends," says one Beetledrone.

"Get'em," says another.

"I should've known we'd find you in this land of misery," I said.

"Please, it's a work of art," says a drone.

"Yes, I see," says Peter, sarcastically, "just as the people of this time would say, everything is awesome."

The drones then stop. "This is my jam!"

Beetledrones: Everything is awesome
Everything is cool when you're part of a team
Everything is awesome
When you're living out a dream

Everything is better when we stick together
Side by side, you and I are gonna win forever
Let's party forever
We're the same, I'm like you, you're like me
We are working in harmony

Everything is awesome
Everything is cool when you're part of a team
Everything is awesome
When you're living out a dream

Woo! Three, two, one, go!
Have you heard the news? Everyone's talking
Life is good 'cause everything's awesome
Lost my job, there's a new opportunity
More free time for my awesome community
I feel more awesome than an awesome possum
Dip my body in chocolate frosting
Three years later, wash off the frosting
Smelling like a blossom, everything is awesome

We then take this opportunity to leave.

Beetledrones: Stepped in mud, got new brown shoes
It's awesome to win and it's awesome to lose, awesome to lose

Everything is better when we stick together
Side by side, you and I are gonna win forever
Let's party forever
We're the same, I'm like you, you're like me
We are working in harmony

Everything is awesome
Everything is cool when you're part of a team
Everything is awesome
When you're living out a dream

Blue skies, bouncy springs
We just named two awesome things
A Nobel Prize, a piece of string
You know what's awesome? Everything!
Dogs with fleas, allergies
A book of Greek antiquities
Brand new pants, a very old vest
Awesome items are the best
Trees, frogs, clogs, they're awesome
Rocks, clocks, and socks, they're awesome
Figs, and jigs, and twigs, that's awesome
Everything you see or think or say is awesome

Everything is awesome
Everything is cool when you're part of a team
Everything is awesome
When you're living out a dream!

. . .

"The Future is strange," says Peter.

We then stumbled upon an academy called Polyneux Middle School. "We can hide here," I said.

. . .

Schools have changed since our time.

"What are these metal boxes for," asks Jill.

"It's obvious," says Peter, "they are for hiding."

I found two rooms. One for boys and another for girls. I looked in the one for boys. I found these strange white bowls. I wonder what they are for. I also found similar ones on walls. I don't know what any of them are for, but the water is making me need to... relieve myself. If only there was a place for that.

. . .

We found the school's history class. The books all talk about how Aku rules the world. Most of them are lies.

"He sure loves himself," says Peter, "probably more then his demon girlfriend."

Aku's POV:

Not true... I love myself and her equally.

Jack's POV:

"I was looking out the window," says Jill, "those drones are still looking for us!"

Robots, nothing but a menace.

"I found something," says Peter. It was a robot. I was prepared to slice it.

"Wait," says Jill, "it's not alive?"

"According to the Resistance, robots are naturally not alive," says Peter.

"I wonder what his story is," says Jill.

"We should go," I said. We were about to move, but then the robot started blinking.

"I accidently turned him on," says Peter.

"G... greetings... I... am Robot... Jones."

I aimed my sword at him.

"Jack, he can't defend himself," says Jill.

"W... where is Sox?"

"Sox," asks Peter.

"And... Cuby... and... Mitch... and... Shannon?"

"Are these friends of yours," asks Jill.

"Robots do not have friends," I said.

"F... friends... where... where..."

This robot... seems sad... almost human. Could I have been wrong? I then sighed. "Tell us your story."

"I... was... studying... humans... learning... about... them... making... friends... fell... in... love... Shannon... then... evil... came... ruined... town."

"How long were you out," asks Peter.

"Only... couple... weeks."

He looked far older then that. "What year do you think it is," I asked.

"We... are... in... the... 1980's... why?"

He is like us! A man out of time! "I'm sorry to say, but we are in the 21st Century."

"21st? No."

"Poor little guy," says Jill, "we know exactly how you feel."

"We came from Ancient Japan," says Peter, "but then Aku banished us to here."

"Aku... bad..."

"Yes, Robot Jones, he is," I said.

"Too... damaged... need... to sleep."

"We will turn you off," says Jill.

"Not... yet... want... to... see... town... first... then... hit... off... button."

"We shall grant you your wish," I said.

. . .

We then took Robot Jones to the roof. He was able to see his town again.

"Thank... you... friends."

We then turned him off. Then the Beetledrones found us.

"Look what we got here," says a drone.

"You don't have to do what Aku says," says Jill, "this one is proof robots are capable of feelings!"

"Maybe some are, but not us."

"Yeah, we don't have souls!"

"In that case..." I then got out my sword and started slicing them.

. . .

We then put Robot Jones in a safe place. We found an advanced building. Probably his own house. Jill kisses his glass head before we leave. Maybe one day, Robot Jones will experience the world. Maybe.

In the next chapter, Jack, Jill, and Peter find an underwater civilization.
