Chapter 19: Davy Jones:

Mad Eye Duke's POV:

Me ship's blown up an' me treasure's melted an' now I be stuck in a piece o' wood, but at least I still 'ave me dignity... who be I kidding? I lost that there too an' it be all because o' that there accursed mermaid! I 'ate 'er so much I could sin'!

Davy Jones: I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me
Love was out to get me
That's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all of my dreams

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried

I thought love was more or less a giving thing
Seems the more I gave the less I got
What's the use in tryin'
All you get is pain?
When I needed sunshine, I got rain

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried

Oh

Oh, love was out to get me
Now, that's the way it seemed
Disappointment haunted all of my dreams

Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
I'm in love
I'm a believer, I couldn't leave her if I tried

Yes, I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
Said, I'm a believer, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (Chorus: I'm a believer)
Said, I'm a believer, yeah (Chorus: I'm a believer)
I said, I'm a believer, yeah! (Chorus: I'm a believer)

'twas Davy Jones hisself 'n the rumors are true, he had gradually taken the appearance o' various aquatic life, flora, 'n fauna. In his new form, Jones' head resembled an Octopus, wit' a "beard" o' 46 tentacles hangin' from his face. A siphon was located on the port side o' his face, which makes up fer his lack o' a human nose. He had a crab claw fer his left arm 'n his right leg resembled that o' a crab, which in turn resembled a peg leg. Davy Jones' hat, which was a tricorn, had its front corn was bigger than the other two 'n divided, so that its silhouette resembled the horns o' the Devil hisself.

"Davy jones, I be 'onored ye could be 'ere, if I knew ye was coming, I... wouldn't be trapped in a piece o' wood."

"That's alright, Duke, now that your ship is blown up, I think it's time to give up your word and take you to my locker."

"What?"

"It's either that or you're a piece of wood."

I can't go yet, I still 'ave to fulfil me gentleman o' fortune legacy, but it was then that I realized somethin'. What if I did nay 'ave to go? "Be there a way I can come aft to life?"

"Well, you'd have to have someone else give up their lives, but who'd wanna do that?"

I could be alive again an' get me revenge on that there #$% mermaid. Perfect.

Pearl's POV:

I was collecting more treasure, but then I head a cry for help. I swam over to it and I found a familiar looking piece of wood.

"Wait," I said, "Mad Eye?"

"Pearl, me dearrr old mate, be that there ye? I be so glad to 'earrr ye voice again."

"I can't believe I fell for one of your tricks," I said, "well, I'm swimming away now..."

"WAIT! I 'ave an offer. 'ow would ye like to be able to swim through the sky, phase through walls, an' ne'er 'ave to worry about gainin' weight?"

"First, are you calling me fat," I asked, "second, what's a sky? And third, what's the catch?"

"Just touch the wood an' I can make it 'appen."

"Yeah, I touch that wood and there could be another curse," I said, "goodbye." I attempted to swim away.

"Did I mention it be free? oh, that be not workin' either. Dang it!"

I was about to swim away when I saw Slippery was stuck in a bunch of rocks.

"Help," says Slippery.

"Slippery, how did you get in there," I asked.

"It's too embarassing to explain," says Slippery.

I tried to get him out, but I wasn't strong enough. If I could... phase through... I had no choice. I then touched the wood...

Mad Eye Duke's POV:

I been aft on the surface, an' I been alive again! I 'ave ne'er been so 'appy! I be goin' to give every livin' bein' I find a big kiss! an' the best part be, that there blasted mermaid be now on 'er way to davy jones' locker!

Pearl's POV:

I should've known, the signs were all there! I'm now a ghost and I'm stuck in the wood and I can't help Slippery.

"Pearl, are you still out there," asks Slippery.

"Yes, but now I'm a ghost trapped in a piece of wood," I said, "that pirate, Mad Eye tricked me! If I ever get out of this, I am going to haunt him!"

"So, you're his replacement," says a voice I did not recognise.

"Who's there," I asked.

"You can call me Davy Jones and I'm here to take you on a trip."

Mad Eye Duke's POV:

Ne'er before 'ave I been so 'appy to get a stomachache from too much eatin' an' lad, did I miss gettin' a 'angover? I be even 'appy to get the pain I've been gettin'. Now that there that be done, it be time to find a ship to replace the one that there mermaid's father blew to the sky! I started looking, but it was then that I saw a dolphin caught in a net an'... it started lookin' like that there mermaid. I then ran. What been that there? suddenly, I feel strange... like... guilt, but that be impossible. I 'ate that there mermaid! why should I feel guilty fer what 'appened to 'er... unless could it be... now that there I be alive again, I can feel... even feel bad fer somethin' I've done? no! I be Mad Eye Duke, the best o' gentlemen o' fortune! I feel nothin'. Nothin'.

Pearl's POV:

"Can you at least help Slippery," I asked.

"I take those who die at sea," says Davy Jones, "if you want someone who saves the sea creatures, call your Dad."

"Look, I don't think I'm ready to go," I said, "it's Mad Eye Duke you want!"

"Yes, but we made a deal," says Davy Jones, "and personally, I don't care who I get. Now, can we hurry this along? I have other things to do."

What am I going to do?

Mad Eye Duke's POV:

I couldn't find a decent ship! the only ones they 'ave available be more fer vikings, but I be a gentleman o' fortune! what do they think? now I 'ave to find a way to plunder an' pillage on dry land. No one 'as it worst then me... except fer maybe the mermaid... forget about 'er! she always gets in me way, so jolly riddance! But it was then that I looked at the sea. I just 'ave to ignore it... I be a gentleman o' fortune! I literally can't ignore the sea! what be I goin' to do?

Pearl's POV:

"Look, believe it or not, I have a date," says Davy Jones, "so, just come with me and we can all forget about this."

"But what about my friends and family," I asked.

"That's their problem," says Davy Jones.

Mad Eye Duke's POV:

I tried to ignore this here guilt... no! I can't take this here anymore! "DAVY JONES!"

Davy jones then appeared before me eyes.

"I'm kind of in the middle of something," says Davy Jones, "that is one stubborn mermaid."

"Tell me about it. Look, I've been feelin' a little..."

"Guilty? That happens when you come back to life. Your feelings attack you like a giant squid."

"'ow do I end this here?"

"I think you know the answer to that."

'e's right, I do.

Pearl's POV:

I opened my eyes and I was alive again.

"Ahoy Mermaid."

"Mad Eye," I said.

"Calm down, he's the one who got you back to life... after making you a ghost in the first place," says Davy Jones.

"What?"

"When I been alive again, me feelings was tellin' me to do starboard thin'. Can ye believe it, Mad Eye Duke, doin' starboard thing? so, I gave ye aft yer life an' looks like I be goin' to davy jones' locker."

"Well... thank you," I said.

"I just wish me gentleman o' fortune legacy could continue, but I guess that there will ne'er be," says Mad Eye.

"Say, Mermaid, do you by anychance go on sea adventures," asks Davy Jones.

"Yeah, I do," I said.

"And do you collect treasures," asks Davy Jones.

"Yeah... wait... Mad Eye, I am a pirate!"

Mad Eye then laughs. "Who would've thought that there me sworn enemy could continue me legacy after all."

"Maybe we shouldn't part as enemies." I then held out my hand and Mad Eye shook it.

"Well, I guess it be time fer me to go. Maybe I can see me old crew again. I've missed them barnacle 'eads. Take care, Pirate Pearl."

"Aye Cap'n," I said as Davy Jones took Mad Eye to his locker. "I'm real happy for him."

"Me too," says Slippery, "but I'd be happier if I was out of these rocks!"

"Oh right, I was trying to save you," I said. I better get help.

Davy Jones' appearance is based on his Pirates of the Caribbean appearance. In the next chapter, an Atlantean tries to kill Pearl for Bai Tza.
