Chapter 17: We Are the Crystal Gems:
Jack's POV:
We were at the Resistance Base.
"Aku's drones are capturing people in Beach City for admiring you," says Johnny.
"I will save these people," I said.
"Hold on Cowboy," says Johnny. I was confused because I did not know what a cowboy was. "You're going to need some banjos."
"Do you mean help," I asked.
"Right, what did I say," asks Johnny, "bring in the Crystal Gems!"
Steven: If you're evil, and you're on the rise
You can count on the four of us taking you down
'Cause we're good and evil never beats us
We'll win the fight and then go out for pizzas
We Are the Crystal Gems
We'll always save the day
And if you think we can't
We'll always find a way
That's why the people of this world believe in
Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, and Steven
Pearl: If you could only know, what we really are
When we arrived on Earth, from out beyond your star

That everybody wants me to be when I'm grown
Crystal Gems: The odds are against us, this won't be easy,

Greg: Believe in
Garnet: Garnet

Steven: And Steven!
"Should we try to sing," asks Jill.
"Have you heard Jack's singing," asks Peter.
"Good point," says Jill.
"Beach City's their turf," says Johnny.
"And we will save it from that creature," says Pearl.
"Hi, I'm Greg Universe., this is my son, Steven. His Mother founded the Resistance. I'm also your ride."

Greg took us to Beach City in his RV.
"Why are they called Crystal Gems," asks Peter.
"Because they're literal gemstones," says Greg Universe, "you see, they're part of an alien race composed of sentient gems. Steven's Mother was one."
"And how was Steven born," asks Jill.
"It's complicated," says Greg.
"Is that Beach City," I asked.
"That's the place," says Garnet.
"I hope Connie's okay," says Steven.
Aku's POV:
I was watching as the foolish Samurai has arrived as I expected. I found a mirror that contains a gem trapped within it, but I, Aku, shall free her and take control of her just as I have taken control of the green gem.
"My Lord," says the Green Gem, "the drones are ready."
"Then the time has come!" I then laughed.
Jack's POV:
"When Aku began taking over other planets, that included our homeworld," says Garnet, "the Diamonds tried to fight him, but he overpowered them and conquered Homeworld. The Diamonds are now decoration on his bathroom door."
"I am sorry," I said.
"Actually, we never liked those diamonds," says Amethyst.
"That doesn't mean they deserved that fate," says Pearl.
Then drones came. "Is that the Samurai," asks one drone.
"No, that's Milt Appleday," says another drone, "of course it's the Samurai!"
"GET HIM," all the drones said.
I then fought them and then I was hit with water.
"What was that," I asked.
It was a girl. She was a lot like the Gems, but she was blue colored.
"It's Lapis Lazuli," says Pearl, "but she was trapped in a mirror!"
"Lord Aku orders your destruction," says Lazuli.
I then attempted to fight her, but she was fighting back using water.
"Where's a giant sponge when you need one," asks Peter.
My sword couldn't beat her waterpowers. "We have to retreat," I said.
"There's only one place I can think of," says Garnet.

The Gems took us to their old base from before they moved to Dexter's Laboratory.
"This was where the Resistance stayed," says Pearl, "when Aku found us, we were forced to relocate."
"Who was Lapis Lazuli," asks Jill.
"During the battle with Aku, she was imprisoned in a mirror," says Pearl, "but I don't think she would ever willingly join him."
"Maybe Aku has her under his control," suggests Jill.
"I wish there was a way to help her," says Steven. Then Steven had a strange look on his face. "I... I just got something... Jack... your sword! You have to poof her!"
"What does this poof mean," I asked.
"You gotta turn her into a gem," says Amethyst.
"You do that, and you free her from Aku's influence," says Steven.
"And she will survive this," I asked.
"No one stays dead," says Garnet.
"Then we must go," I said.

Lapis was overlooking the enslavement of the people. Steven found his friend, Connie.
"We need a distraction," I said.
Amethyst then turns into a purple me. "Aku's not the only shapeshifter," says Amethyst. Amethyst then gets up. "Hey, drones, I'm the Samurai!"
"Doesn't the Samurai have a sword," asks a drone.
"How many other people look like him," asks another drone.
"Good point." The drones then chase after her. The rest of us were then facing Lapis.
"Lapis, we know you don't want to work with Aku," says Steven.
"I shall destroy you all in the name of Aku," says Lapis as she creates water clones of us.
"That is disturbing," says Peter.
We then fought them, and a lion comes out of nowhere and pounces mine.
"Lion," says Steven, "you came!"
"You have a pet lion," asks Jill, "the Future is strange."
I was then faced with Lapis. She tried to attack me, but I kept dodging. Then, using my sword, I managed to strike her and 'poofed' her.
"The drones all fell on the cliff," says Amethyst, "so, did it work?"

The Gems then restore Lapis. "Thank you," says Lapis as she falls to the ground.
"Aku might have other gems under his control," I said.
"And we'll get them back," says Garnet.
Aku's POV:
They may think they have won, but I have other surprises, like my own gem warriors, like Jasper.
