Chapter 28: Grojband:

Jill's POV:

We were at the Resistance Base.

"So far, Aku hasn't done anything," says Johnny.

"Any sign of a time portal," asks Jack.

"The only time-based machine people have found are clocks," says Dexter.

"I am getting bored," I said, "I'm going for a walk."

. . .

I was walking when I saw a group of kids chasing after a beetledrone. I then gave chase and grabbed them.

"Awe man, we lost it," says a boy with glasses.

"What were you thinking," I asked.

"That drone... has something we need," says the boy with a hat.

"What do you mean," I asked.

"I'm Corey, this is Laney, Kin, and Kon and we need to get this book back... it's kind of important to us."

I then sighed. "Very well, I will help you boys..." I then took another look. "I am sorry," I said to Laney.

"I get that alot," says Laney.

"Still, I will help you," I said.

"Hey, don't you know Samurai Jack," asks Kon.

"Yes... you wouldn't happen to know anything about a time machine, would you," I asked.

"I did have one," says Kin, "but when I used it, I erased lemonade from everyone's memories."

"What is lemonade," I asked.

. . .

We then snuck into... wait, this isn't any of Aku's buildings. It's a house.

"We will find your book," I said, "but what is this book?"

"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh... long story," says Corey.

. . .

We were then snuck through the halls, and we heard some strange breathing.

"What is that," asks Laney.

"Is it our Future Selves," asks Kon.

We then saw it was Billy. "Nope, it's me," says Billy, "what are you guys doing in Mandy's house?"

"This is Mandy's house," I asked.

"That's right... Friend of Samurai," says Mandy.

"Why did you take that book," I asked.

"You came here for a diary," asks Mandy.

"What," I asked.

"Okay, we're a band," says Corey, "and we use my sister's diary for lyrics."

"That's what this is about," I asked.

"Drones, attack," says Mandy.

The drones came and captured us.

. . .

We were in a cage.

"Why didn't any of you tell me," I asked.

"We don't let anyone know where we get our lyrics," says Corey, "I'm bad at coming up with lyrics."

"So, you invade your sister's privacy," I asked.

"If you met his sister, you'd get why," says Laney.

"What's she gonna do with us," asks Kon.

"Something horrible, no doubt," says Kin.

"We need a way out of here," I said, "maybe we can use Billy, because... let's face it, he's an idiot."

"Billy, Aku said don't eat his socks," says Mandy.

"I know you are, but what am I," asks Billy.

"You see," I said.

"Hey Billy," says Laney, "shouldn't we be in the cage?"

"No, I'm pretty sure you are in the cage," says Billy.

"No, we're outside the cage and you're in it," says Laney.

Billy then thinks... or whatever his version is. "Hey, you're right!"

Billy then lets us out and gets his cage.

We then made our leave, but Corey then grabs the diary.

"Why did Mandy take that book," I asked.

"Mainly because she doesn't like us," says Laney.

"Drones, attack them," says Mandy.

Then the band get their instruments ready.

Corey: You're going down
You're going down
You're going down

I'll close your page
You're going down

Back to the stone age
Sit right back and let me dial you up
A big kick for your sorry butt
I'll do a blitzkrieg on your wires
Transmit you back to das techno fires

You're going down
You're going down
You're going down

I'm filled with rage
You're going down

My foot and your face will engage
You're going down!

And somehow, that defeats the drones, and we make our leave.

"We are not asking for an encore," says Mandy.

. . .

"Thanks for your help," says Corey.

"My pleasure," I said, "but I do hope you come up with your own lyrics."

"Maybe," says Corey, "but who can say for sure..." And he then gives a speech about lyrics and honestly, I think those could make good lyrics. "Thanks for coming out, everybody."
