Chapter 58: Jack and the Traveling Creatures:

Jack's POV:

Jill, Peter, and I just helped the people of a small village. A villager then tells us to go north to the city of Kojima and meet a guide.

. . .

When we arrived there, the guide took us out to the foothills beyond the city where we must then climb a mountain and then cross a narrow land bridge.

. . .

"There's the bridge," says Peter.

We then crossed the bridge.

. . .

The bridge took us to a mystical land at the shore of a beautiful lake. I tried to swim across, but I could not float. Jill and Peter then pulled me out.

"Look," says Jill. Not even a fly could not float on this lake.

I then saw a group of mall one-eyed creatures in robes wading into the lake.

"We have to warn them," I said.

We then ran over to them, but they summoned an enormous lake creature with extremely long legs.

"That's a thing," says Jill.

"The Future is full of surprises," says Peter.

. . .

The creatures gave us a ride on these beasts.

"It is very ancient and very wise," says one of our new friends.

I then decided to talk with the beast. "Do you know where to find a time portal," I asked.

The beast then looks at my sword.

. . .

After dropping the robed creatures off, the beast takes my friends and I to another location.

. . .

We go to a mountain where there's a creature with six legs and huge mandibles. They were having some sort of conversation.

"I do not trust them," says Peter.

"I wonder what they are talking about," says Jill.

. . .

Now, we're riding with the mountain creature. Then these shadow creatures came.

Singer/Chorus: We all got nightmares in our dreams
We look for someone to believe in us
And show us the way
And make it okay
The world can be dangerous

There's something so rare in your veins
Not a single thing I would change
And oh, if you only knew how I see you
Would you come alive again, alive again?
I, I need you to understand

I don't mind your shadows
'Cause they disappear in the light
I don't mind your shadows
'Cause they look a lot like mine
And listen to me, it's okay to be afraid
Just walk like you're never alone
I don't mind your shadows
Your shadows, baby, I don't

Pictures in our head
Of what we're supposed to be
Measuring ourselves, but where is the love?
Where is the love?
The world got us wondering, wondering
I, I need you to understand

That I don't mind your shadows
'Cause they disappear in the light
And I don't mind your shadows
'Cause they look a lot like mine
And listen to me, it's okay to be afraid
Just walk like you're never alone
And I don't mind your shadows
Your shadows, baby, I don't

And all these voices in our head
Well, they keep screaming louder and louder
But they won't pull us under

Baby, I don't mind your shadows
'Cause they disappear in the light
And I don't mind your shadows
'Cause they look a lot like mine
And listen to me, it's okay to be afraid
Just walk like you're never alone
And I don't mind your shadows
Your shadows, baby, I don't!

The mountain creature then tosses me to them. Jill and Peter wanted to help, but the creature stops them. I then fought and defeated them all. We were then moving on.

. . .

We are then given a ride by a pterosaur-like creature... at least it was how Dexter described pterosaurs. It took us across a vast wasteland and drops him into a field of broken and rusted machinery.

. . .

After following a shining light, we finally made it through the rubble and found the time portal, but there is a man guarding it.

"I am the Guardian of this Time Portal," he said, "it is prophesied that only one man can defeat me and earn the right to use this time portal."

"Then these were all defeated warriors," says Jill.

"Wait, if Jack defeats you, can we still go with him," asks Peter.

"Do not worry," I said, "I will make him agree to that!"

"Then bring it on, Baby," says the Guardian.

The Guardian and I then battled. He was one of the mightiest warriors I have ever faced. Unfortunately, it was a battle that I...

The Guardian's POV:

The Samurai has fallen and is now on the ground.

"But Jack is the greatest warrior in the land," says the boy.

"Apparently, not," says the girl.

The Samurai's friends tried to take me on, but they did nothing. And just as I was about to take them all out, the portal spoke to me. "I understand," I said. I then knocked the Samurai's friend out and called the pterosaur to take them away. "The Samurai can't use it yet." Behind me, the portal shows me the Samurai's future.

Aku's POV:

"We found another portal," says the Chamberlain.

"Good," I said.
