Chapter 63: Jack, the Monks, and the Ancient Master's Son:
Jack's POV:
Jill, Peter, and I were walking through a hazardous jungle. I then felt this annoying itch.
"Are you alright," asks Jill.
The source of the itch was these annoying insects. I then brushed them off.
"I think I heard something," says Peter.
These two warriors then came and attacked us, but we fought back. There was something about them...
As they switched from one martial arts style to another, Jill, Peter, and I did the same.
"How do you know these techniques," one asks.
"We are xiaolin as you are," I said.
"Is this true," another monk asks.
"It can't be, our order has been secret for centuries."
"We know Mantis," I said.
"And Southern Fist," says Jill.
"And Eagle Claw," says Peter.
"And Water Beetle," I said.
"Then you know the principal secret sign of the Xiaolin."
We then demonstrate, it's a raised index finger and suppressed thumb... but you did not hear it from me.
"They are our brothers," says a monk.
"And sister," asks the other monk.
"I was our master's first female student," says Jill.
"You three must come with us," says a monk.
. . .
The monks open a secret panel and reveal their temple to us.
"It has been so long since we have seen xiaolin monks," says Jill.
What impresses me is that this temple has endured for centuries.

Our brothers then take us to the Grand Master.
We were then awed to see that the Grand Master is a centuries old man whose body has become interwoven with a tree and frozen in a perfect meditative state.
"Greetings," says the Grand Master, "I understand you also know our way."
"We were students of Master Chu," I said.
"Yes, I remember," says the Grand Master, "I too was a student of Master Chu."
"What," asks Peter.
"I was but a child when you three came to learn. I remember when I saw you. I did not think you, Young Lady, could become a xiaolin monk. I am glad you proved me wrong."
"I get that," says Jill.
"Wait, I just realized," says Peter, "what about Aku?"
"Aku did attack and destroy the old temple," says the Grand Master, "I was part of a group of survivors who managed to restart the order in secret. Over time, my chi became so powerful that I attained the ultimate sense of awareness and I have been sustained by nature itself for centuries. But I am impressed you three have lived for so long, you must be more powerful then I."
"Aku sent us in a portal through time..." I then realized what Peter meant. "Aku! His eyes are always watching!"
"Aku's surveillance is shielded here," says the Grand Master.
Aku's POV:
There is nothing on my screen but static. I then started banging on it.
Jack's POV:
"We seek a portal that could take us back to the past," says Jill.
"There is another temple built far to the north that possesses such a portal which only opens for a few moments at the suns zenith," says the Grand Master, "my students can take you there."

Our brothers then led us to the temple. We then went on a journey to find this portal.
. . .
Eventually, we found it. A massive vertical temple complex covered with bamboo scaffolding and boardwalks.
"I feel a presence," I said. There was silence. "Perhaps I am wrong."
Then stone guardians built out of the mountain spontaneously come to life and attacked us.
"We must move," says Jill.

We ended up defending ourselves on the way to the portal.
"You three must go, we will hold them off!"
Jill, Peter, and I then ran to the portal.
. . .
We found it. "I can't believe it," says Jill.
I then stopped. Go to the portal or... "We can't do this," I said. It is true that if we do this, it would not matter and none of this would have existed, but I cannot allow them to die either way.
"Jack is right," says Jill.
"Our brothers need us," says Peter.
. . .
We then returned and helped our brothers fight the guardians. In a flash of light, the energy feeding the portal disappears.
"Come with me," I said.
We then used a statue to destroy the Guardians.
"Thank you, but why did you come back?"
"You were willing to sacrifice everything, we were not," I said.
"But you may have to find another way."
"That's our life," says Peter.
