Chapter 66: Val Halen's Room:
Jack's POV:
The Justice Friends and I were in the Resistance Base.
"Jill is at the grocery store and Peter is sailing," I said.
"Everyone else is busy," says Major Glory, "at the moment, it's just the four of us."
"Wait, where is Val Halen," I asked.
We then heard a moan.
"Ghostly sound scares Kronk," says Kronk.
"It's coming from Val Halen's room," says Major Glory.
. . .
We decided to see if he is okay.
"Kronk never been in Val Halen's room before. Kronk scared."
"You're a Justice Friend and a member of the Resistance," says Major Glory, "now, Gentlemen, you're about to see..." He then opens the door. "the bedroom of the Mighty God of Rock!"
It is far bigger than any other room in the lab!
"Ooh, bigger than Kronk's."
"That's why Johnny gets lost in here," says Major Glory.
We then heard his moan again and walked to his bed.
. . .
Val Halen was lying there.
"Ax... my Ax..."
"What he says," asks Kronk.
"His source of power," says Major Glory, "without it, he'll turn into a mere... a mere..."
"What, a mere what," asks Kronk.
"Mortal, Dude."
"No," says Kronk.
"What happened," asks Major Glory, "it couldn't have been Aku, he has no idea where we are."
"I can't remember," says Val Halen.
"Tell us what you do remember, my friend," I said.
"The last thing I remember, I was charioting across the Heavens, drawn by Billy's mighty hooves to Asgard, Kingdom of the Gods, where I did proceed to Ragnarök and Roll. I did a song in honor of my mentor, Thor. Afterwords, I was visited by the Valkyries baring Golden Apples. The rest all becomes a blurr."
"Well, you haven't lost your powers yet," says Major Glory, "and William Goat is here."
"We must find his ax," I said. I have never seen him wield an ax before, just his shamisen, but we will find it.
. . .
We started searching. I did not find any sign of an ax, but then I looked at all the posters and I realized... his 'ax' is his shamisen! The Future and it's phrases.
"This Ax," asks Kronk with an actual ax.
"It's a musical instrument," says Val Halen.
Kronk then has a tambourine. "This ax?"
"Bigger, Dude!"
Kronk is then a one-creature-band. "This ax?"
. . .
"It might be in this mess," says Major Glory as he uses his heat vision to... clean it, apparently.
. . .
I checked Val Halen's trash. Nothing there. The goat then started eating the trash.
. . .
Kronk was then checking the statues, two were empty, and one was Major Glory, who apparently wears a lot of masks.
"When I say secret identity, I mean secret identity," says Major Glory.
Val Halen then started weakening. His body shrinks and so does his hair. We can see his eyes now.
"We're running out of time," says Major Glory.
"Look, a ghost," says Kronk.
"It is some sort of white jacket," I said, "and it is going into that closet. Perhaps the ax is in there."
"We have to be cautious," says Major Glory.
"Kronk not scared of clothes," says Kronk as he leaps towards the closet.
"Kronk, wait," says Major Glory.
Kronk opens the closet, and the clothes grab him. "Help, Clothes have Kronk, Clothes have Kronk!"
The closet then closes.
"KRUNK!"
"How is this possible," I asked.
"Well, Val Halen doesn't really do his laundry," says Major Glory, "and never cleans out the closet."
"This is what happens if you don't do any of those things," I said.
Kronk then comes out, wearing the clothes. They have taken over his mind.
"We're going to have to fight him, Jack," says Major Glory.
Then the goat attacks Kronk. "What is he doing," I asked.
"Billy, don't be a hero," says Major Glory.
"Wait," I said, "look!"
The goat eats the clothes, freeing Kronk. "Good Goat." Kronk then pets the goat, and he hears something. He then looks in the goat. "Ax inside Goat!" Kronk is then about to stick his hand in the goat, but Major Glory stops him.
"Wait, Kronk, I have a better idea," says Major Glory. He then hands the goat to Val Halen.
"I can feel the ax coming from within the goat," says Val Halen, "I have the power!"
Val Halen: He was a lonely boy in a broken land
Where people were living and dying in the name of a higher man
And then one day into his hand the power of rock and roll
She was a hungry girl for a caring world
And the rules say don't take a step over there but she carries on
And drawn one day into the force by the power of rock and roll
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, fighting for love, and singing you
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, telling you why, and showing you
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, gonna be joined by rock and roll
In a working band he became the man
But the law of the street said they could not meet in any circumstance
But she did not care, they began to share the power of rock and roll
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, fighting for love, and singing you
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, telling you why, and showing you
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, gonna be joined by rock and roll
Well, they were learning, trouble they stayed ahead
And they were burning, burning up and seeing red
That the place they loved would fall apart
If you can't show feeling from the heart
And then fighting, know what they were fighting for
Can everybody give and take a little more?
Because it's all too easy to forget
That you can fight 'til there ain't no reason left
So, everybody sing
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, and singing you
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, and showing you
Woh, ohh, woh, ohh, and telling you
Woh, ohh, woh, ohh
He was a lonely man; she was a hungry girl
Living on different sides, they were praying for a guiding word
And then one day into their hands, the power of rock and roll
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, singing you
Oh, ohh, oh, ohh, showing you
Woh, ohh, woh, ohh, and telling you
Woh, ohh, woh, ohh!
. . .
We were then in the meeting room where the others came in.
"You look happy," I said.
"I... met someone," says Jill, "but it would not have worked out."
"I fought pirates to save a turtle," says Peter.
"Why do you smell like dirty laundry," asks Johnny.
"Kronk was possessed."
