Chapter 78: The Scotsman Saves Jack (4):
Scotsman's POV:
Ah cuid hae bin fightin' monsters or robots or bounty hunters... okay, technically, a'm aye fightin' monsters 'n' bounty hunters, bit noo a'm an' a' babysitting an amnesiac samurai. Somehow, th' starn o' oor story lost his brains, his sword, 'n' his mukkers 'n' a'm aff tae fin' a wey tae git thaim a' back even if it kills me, we juist hae tae pay fur a boat hurl. Dae ony o' ye hae ony dosh.
"How much money do you have?"
Ah then checked and... I didnae hae enough fur th' baith o' us.
"Dude, you need a good deckhand," asks Jack, "I could do it."
"Then we set sail."
"Adventure," shouts a lad.
"Whit's wi' him?"
"The kid is a descendent of some adventurer named... Flapjack... I think."
. . .
We wur then setting sail. We wur a' peepin' th' island as we approached it. Ah wonder how come Jack, Jill, 'n' Peter gaed thare. Mibbie thay git word that thare wis a time portal. A world whaur aku doesn't rule. Noo that's a world ah wouldn't mynd living in. It soonds lik' a true paradise.
"Refreshments," says Jack. We ilk teuk a dram. Ah hae tae say, he wis bonny guid at this. Tae ill we need jack, fur brent kin serve drinks. "Like, check the weather map."
Thare wis a storm. Then we stairted hearing something streenge.
"That music," says the Captain.
"I can't stop listening," says the Adventure Kid.
"Lovely," says Jack.
Personally, ah think it sounded lik' a moose giein' birth tae an elephant. Ah then clocked howfur streenge a' body wis acting.
"Tis lik' ye a' lost yer brains..." Then it skelps me, this wis whaur th' answer lies.
. . .
We then docked 'n' th' captain, th' adventure bairn, 'n' jack wur a' carrying hings.
"Aye, keep traivelin, zombie laddie."
. . .
We entirt a cave 'n' 'twas filled wi' treasure. Thare wur mony sailors 'n' thay wur a' in a trance. Ah then saw jill 'n' peter 'n' thay tae wur in a trance. This wis whaur 'twas happening. Ah then saw th' cause. Three wummin.
Sirens: Hear my voice
Hear my dreams
Let us make a world
In which I believe
Hear my words
Hear my cries
Let me see a change
Through these eyes
You may think
I won't be heard
Still, I'll raise this hand
Spread this word
These words of fire
Of hope and desire
And I'll let them free
Hear my voice
Hear my dreams
Let us make a world
In which we believe
In which we believe
Hear my words
Hear my choice
Hear my voice!
"A'richt, that's enough o' that moggie scratching! ye shut it or ah will shut it fur ye!"
Sirens: Don't you like our singing?
Don't you love us?
"Ye ca' that singing? a laughing hyena kin dae better! noo mah guidwife, she kin sing. Songbirds hae hee haw oan her!" Ah then picked up Jack. "Noo, whit did ye dae tae mah mukker!"
Sirens: He and his friends came in,
Expecting a time portal,
But instead, we had them under our control.
These two now guard us,
But we sent the Samurai away and kept his sword.
"'n' whit aboot jill 'n' peter's weapons?"
Sirens: They probably just dropped those.
"Weel, a'm aff tae tak' ye doon, ye..."
Peter 'n' Jill then git in th' wey. Ah didnae wantae rammy thaim, bit thay wur forcing me. Thay managed tae tak' thair weapons back fae me 'n' Jill noo hud baith her fans while Peter wis able tae uise his arrows. Ah hud tae fin' a wey tae snap thaim oot o' it, bit ah ken hee haw aboot dehypnotizing someone. Ah then hud na choice. Ah managed tae chap thaim baith oot. "Sorry." Then th' sirens turned intae a lairge three headed dragon. That's juist cheating. Thay then cam at me 'n' ah hud tae rammy thaim aff.
Brent's POV:
I was standing there looking at a familiar sight. It was a sword... a sword...a...
Jack's POV:
"Now I remember!"
Just as the beast was about to consume the Scotsman, I slashed at it with my sword and ended it.
"Laddie, ye'r back, howfur dae yer feelin'?"
"Like, totally tubular," I said. We then both laughed.
"Can you keep it down," asks Jill, "I have a headache."
"Are we in the past yet," asks Peter.
"Wait, what knocked us out," asks Jill.
"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh... that adventure bairn ower thare."
. . .
The Scotsman and I were then laughing as the Scotsman told us what happened on the journey.
"I should've known it was too good to be true," says Jill.
"I'm still trying to process that Jack said Dude," says Peter.
"He did 'n' he wis disgusted by th' idea o' sportin' sandals."
"I insulted my own footwear? That's embarassing."
"Jill, lassie, ye wrote something oan yer fan, whit does it say?"
"Oh, it says 'if found, please return to me'."
"Ah thought it micht hae bin a Scooby. Ah jalouse it wid hae bin na hulp at a'."
"Is that our boat," asks Peter.
It took off without us.
"Come back 'ere, ye treacherous pirates!"
"Not to worry," I said, "we can make a raft and I will paddle us home."
"Na, ah will paddle us hame. Tis th' least ah kin dae."
"But you have done so much," I said, "please, allow me."
"Ah said ah will dae it!"
"I will do it!"
"Ah'll dae it!"
"I'll do it!"
"Ah'll dae it!"
"I'll do it!"
"Ah'll dae it!"
"I'll do it!"
"Here we go again," says Jill.
. . .
We then had many competitions. There was a race, a jumping contest, we threw spears, we wrestled, there was a thumb wrestling match, there were many games... but I won them all.
. . .
Now I am paddling us home.
"You know, we could have all taken turns," says Peter.
"Shut it," says the Scotsman.
