Before Naruto could understand Madara was there, alive, in front of him, eyes closed and claiming he was taking the beasts. When was this shit going to end? He took on all nine bijuu with no eyes. When he was given the other Rennigan, Naruto assumed from wherever Obito stashed it. It was impressive he managed to summon the statue missing one eye and didn't have two. Naruto could only put it to the conclusion that Obito had it. So he was adamant to keep him from it. But then the chains wrapped around all the Bijuu and Naruto couldn't deactivate KCM. Watching Gaara fight to keep Shukaku free, was a little heartbreaking. Naruto was aware Gaara had missed him since losing him, and they hadn't even truly been given the chance to reunite properly. And now Madara was trying to take him once again. Naruto felt himself fall from Kurama's head to his stomach. He expected pain but it felt more like pressure was building in his chest, he could feel Kurama fighting, tightening his hold on the mindscape. Naruto was too busy trying to find something to hold onto, a way to keep Kurama from Madara. Keep him free, Kurama was giving off some fear, and Naruto knew, it wasn't for himself. It was for Naruto. Kurama was talking, he was vaguely aware of it but he just didn't want to lose him he was too focused on holding onto him his panic clawing up to the surface. Then, the image of Shikamaru's devastated face upon his death had him on the verge of panic before his heart beat painfully as a wave of heat came from his head to his toes as he was torn from Kurama. Then it was just cold

Kurama! He internally screamed his body fell his organs felt like they were still suspended for a moment. Everyone he loved flashed behind his lids as his eyes forced themselves closed. Before the familiar feeling of Gaara's sand catching him.

It was dark, nothing but cold and blackness. He could hear Gaara, telling him to hold on, then talking... Shikamaru calling his name... then a feeling of warmth, it was strange but he'd felt it before. Then it moved deeper into his chest, a faint green light surrounded him.

"Hold on Naruto! You're strong just hold on a little more!" He realised then, it was Sakura, healing him. But he knew it was futile, she was wasting her time Kurama was gone, so Naruto was only on borrowed time. Soon he'd be reunited with his parents. He only regretted letting down Kurama, and hurting Shikamaru. He felt his Chakra, Shikamaru's chakra was suddenly enveloping him before he blacked out.

He frowned at the burning orange chakra. It was hot and familiar but strange. More volatile and angry than the Kurama he was accustomed to. Had Kurama escaped? Was he angry about being in Madara's control? That would make sense. Naruto reached out, hoping Kurama would recognise him in his rage.

He gasped in air laying on water, the mindscape he realised.

"Am I dead?" He questioned feeling painfully alone without Kurama. It was darker, and colder without him.

"Stupid boy! Why would you be dead?!" A familiar voice yelled causing Naruto to turn and see Shukaku. He wasn't entirely sure how he was there then there was Gyuki

"That guy Obito, pulled a part of his and my own Chakra-"

"And put me inside you!" A deep gravelly voice said from behind him. His heart sank for a split second relief before he realised... it wasn't the same. Turning to face Kurama... but not his Kurama, his Fathers. He felt more darker... more inclined to violence. He supposed it made sense, his Kurama had spent years with him, softened and came to care. Was this how he was before their time together?

"So now you have all nine of the Bijuu's chakra within you" Kurama smirked as if this was impressive. Before he could ask any questioned there they all were. Together, in his mindscape, surrounding him.

"That's a good thing?" He asked feeling a little uneasy with the way they were all looking at him.

"It is indeed young Naruto" a unfamiliar voice called appearing before him looking a little like Obito when he had all the bijuu.

"Sage of Six Paths?" He asked surprised

"The prophecy is coming to pass, I was almost afraid you wouldn't make it" he nodded. Prophecy? The one told to Jiyraiya? He couldn't believe it, it was absurd, he had failed on so many levels. Even now he was too angry of a person to be what was foresaw, what Jiyraiya hoped for. Shaking his head the more the Sage spoke. The prophecy, what Madara was truly trying to do. His patience was up when the man told him Gai had used his ultimate move and will die afterward.

"He may even win, but I'd like to impart a gift to you and the Uchiha, to ensure you can seal Madara away if you cannot defeat him"

"Then give it" Naruto demanded stepping closer.

His eyes snapped open to see green, terrified eyes staring down at him. His side was burning and the familiar feeling of Kurama's healing was ending.

"Naruto!" She gasped and threw her arms around him as he sat up. The action surprised him and hurt. But he only froze feeling a warm wetness on his shoulder, and barely acknowledging Obito. When she pulled back he realised his shirt was cut open, he had some of Shikamaru's chakra still in his system and she had blood on her hands and she looked close to her limit. His hand reached to his ear noting the stud was gone and it felt wrong. Frowning at the feeling of loss he stood up.

"Time to go" he said looking to Obito, he didn't have time to question the black thing on him. Obito nodded and looked to Sakura

"I need your help with this eye" he said before teleporting Naruto back to the real world. Leaving Sakura in the other dimension with Obito was both concerning and a relief but he didn't see her being a pushover. The girl had monstrous strength, and not to mention all the chakra she had used to heal the troops, pull with them all to help free the bijuu and keep him alive long enough to get the other half of Kurama. He knew she would do what needed to be done. The girl seemed very no nonsense to him. Entering the crater beneath the roots almost had him choking on the heat of the power Gai had released. He made his way over using sage mode to move faster. The wave of power hit him as he reached the edge of a whole new crater. The red glow of power as Madara was thrown back. He was injured, he was weak and Naruto knew he had to make a choice. Gai or take Madara down. The fight had gone on too long, people were weak, his loved ones at their limits, fighting something else across the battlefield, the old man and Shikaku, it seemed to be given their proximity. Making a massive rasenshuriken using some chakra from Son he added the lava. Throwing it at Madara exploding and in the process cutting down the tree. Smoke blocked the view. He wasted no time jumping down to retrieve his Dad's Kunai, then Sasuke appeared. He looked as bad as Naruto and he had hoped he didn't die also.

"Sealing?" Sasuke asked as they ran to Madara's location. Naruto only nodded. But the flicker of Madara's chakra made him hope it was all that was needed. They passed Gai, he was barely alive. But he gave an opening and he felt... well, he got the feeling Gai wouldn't appreciate it going to waste to save him. They ran on Sasuke using his Susano to clear the smoke and ash. The tree hit the floor shaking the earth. The only thing keeping them steady was the chakra infused in their feet. Whatever Gai had done was enough to weaken Madara, give Naruto and opening and now he and Sasuke could end this. When they made it to Madara he was standing up, using the wall behind him for support. They ran putting their hands on Madara's shoulders, Naruto didn't understand it, it made no sense to him but the moment the sun and moon mark touched him Madara stilled. Eye wide clearly confused about what sort of jutsu they were using and Naruto almost laughed because him either. He just... sort of understood this would work. Before they could really do anything else, Madara dissapeared and the marks connected, heat so hot Naruto felt like he was being burnt came from his palm. They were pushed back and between them landed nine Bijuu. Naruto felt his legs shake when he saw Kurama, almost wept in relief really. But he waited for more. Everytime they made some headway another problem arose.

"Gai Sensei!!" A scream came causing Naruto to turn and look to see a smaller version of him skidding across the floor to stop at Gai. Kakashi was on his heels. Naruto ran over he couldn't sense him now, was it too late? As he stopped at the other boy hand outstretched he stopped... he was gone. The last bit of Chakra had died out. He put his hand on Kakashi's shoulder and the copy Ninja bowed his head pulling down his headband. The fight across the battlefield was over, the flare in chakra evened out as the forces realised it was over. Sasuke approached stopping next to Naruto and looked around.

"Where is Sakura?" He asked

"Obito, she was helping him in the other dimension" Naruto said

"If he died she'd be stuck" Kakashi said calmly and lifted his headband before swirling away into the dimension. It took only a moment before he came back, Obito's arm slung over his shoulder his other hand over his eye blood leaking through his fingers, the black half melted away, turning into a black puddle. He looked to Sakura who was pale and holding a bloodied kunai.

"You destroyed the Rennigan?" He asked her and she nodded dropping the kunai.

"Is it over?" She asked as Minato landed next to them.

"Yes, Shikaku, Inoichi, the Uchiha boy and Lord Third seemed to have neutralised the threat across the way" he said and smiled at Naruto. He was about to ask about Lord First and second

"You did it" Kurama spoke and Naruto grinned up to him and fell back against his paw as a wave of sadness came over him, he supposed this was it now. Their agreement had been fulfilled and Naruto was alive.

"You bet, I'm the child of prophecy, ya know" he laughed weakly. He hadn't slept in twenty four hours, he had more than pushed himself and he just couldn't bring his usual energy.

The sun was rising when people made it to them, wary of the Bijuu behind Naruto. Obito had passed away earlier saying his goodbye to Kakashi and Minato. Naruto decided to keep his distance for that. The White Zetsu that had kept the forces back had revealed to be poor Yamato. Tsunade was holding her Grandfather and her Great Uncle stood on the other side of her, they looked awful, even for reincarnation. Shikaku stayed back next to Inoichi and Ino, arms folded and smiling at him with obvious pride. Shikamaru had pushed his way through the people and fell to his knees in front of Naruto. He didn't even look up at Kurama.

"Sakura broke my earring" Naruto pouted and the man smiled

"I'll make you a new one" he choked out and Naruto took his hand nodding.

"Are you- Kurama?" He asked

"I'm okay, Dad gave me the other half" he reassured and all the tension left Shikamaru. As Itachi came over to his brother Naruto noticed his Dad had moved to go talk to Shikaku, bowing and smiling at the man.

"What now?" A man on a dog shouted, one of the friends who came to help pull the Bijuu out "What's happening with the demons now?"

Multiple different growls resonated in the clearing and Naruto had to laugh

"Guess they got some choices to make" he yelled

"I'll be returning to Bee" Gyuki announced and Naruto smiled as the Octopus left, of course he found a way to save him.

Matatabi moved closer to the Raikage and they all tensed but A didn't even flinch.

"Yugito was loyal to you. I wish to honour her, I will aid you in rebuilding if I am promised you will not try to seal me away again" she said and Naruto saw the way the Cloud ninja shuffled and looked hesitant. He stood up, walking to stand next to her as he glared at the people. A looked from Naruto and up to the Blue Cat

"You have my word" he nodded and Matatabi lay down waiting for the time they were to leave. The others left, promising to keep in touch and be there if Naruto needed. Reminding him that he has a part of them. Shukaku had surprised everyone when he announced he was going back to the desert, close to the village. Gaara had actually smiled at that.

"What will you do now?" Naruto asked Kurama who was the only one left. He lay down putting he head on his paws as he smirked down at Naruto.

"That's a stupid question" he huffed.

"Well... you're free, and I'm okay" Naruto said then paled. The village... Kurama had only said his vengeance can wait because he didn't want Naruto to die. But... he looked back to the people behind him, a wave of dread coming over him. That was the deal he had made. Kurama would spare Shikamaru and his parents but not the rest of the village. But, he knew about his parents, he knew he didn't want to trample their sacrifice for him and the village.

"Kurama" he choked out as Kurama did some signs and grinned at him before putting a single claw on his stomach and the seal returned as a chain shot out and wrapped around the fox before pulling him in. Naruto stood wide eyed staring at the empty space.

Wait! Kurama's laugh bellowed in his head

"Happy Birthday brat" he said and Naruto smiled wiping at his eyes.

People were relaxing and beginning to realise it was truly over. Some wept, some cheered and Naruto felt a sense of relief wash over him. Not one of them had demanded the Bijuu be sealed away, not one of the Kage seemed concerned two villages had tailed beasts cooperating. And his loved ones were alive. Orochimaru landed next to Lord Third and his Father nodded before coming over to Naruto.

"I'm very proud, and honoured to call you my son" he praised

"I-"

"It's okay, it's time. I have to get back to your mother now" he assured the boy "we will see you when it's time"

Naruto nodded and tears fell, fingers weaved through his own and he leant against Shikamaru.

"Goodbye, Dad" he choked out

"Happy Birthday Naruto" he kissed his head and Naruto closed his eyes.

"Release!" Orochimaru called and a bright light came as the four Hokage's souls left the sacrificed bodies.

So I got through it! I feel bad about Gai but I have always felt it was the right move, he should have either won and died, or made the opening. It has always bugged me so I've written it into my own.
