CH-4 Setsuna

it has been 4 days since i moved in with himeko, following that mei and bronya had also moved in, the following day kiana moved in too, the next day we all went out in the city for the reason to get some necessities, meaning? we're in a clothing store again

"how do i look mei?" asked kiana while giving a cutesy pose "you look amazing kiana" said mei with a smile "the bronya suggests kiana idiotka try something else" said bronya with an everlasting bland look which ended up in another argument between the two with mei trying her best to stop them

"and they're at it again" said himeko who was sitting besides me "can't really do anything about that can we now?" making himeko sigh "back to what i was saying, who's gonna pay for all the stuff? not like they can pay for it all" thinking on it for a second and answering "lets split the payment", "alright" said himeko

after they were done with picking out clothes for themselves we headed to the counter to pay for all of it with me and himeko splitting the bill as agreed beforehand, before we all could start walking back to the campus i spoke up "you all go ahead i have something I'd like to check out before i go back" making himeko stare at me for a bit "well don't take too long" before they could start walking again kiana spoke up "I'll go with zeren-senpai to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid" "I'm not the one who does stupid things on a daily basis" i said back making kiana smack my arm "if zeren is ok with you coming along, i don't see a problem" said himeko, mei nodding along "i don't really mind her tagging along with me on this" i said making himeko turn around and say "alright its settled, don't take too long you two" walking back towards the campus with mei and bronya following along, mei waving at us to which me and kiana waved back

"ok where are we going now" asked kiana "to a dealership" i said walking towards the dealership i came across a few days ago "a dealership?" asked kiana following me "you'll see when we get there"

reaching the bike dealership kiana just looked at it in awe "are you going to buy a motorcycle?" asked kiana with stars in her eyes "yeah we might buy one today" making her let out a excited giggle.

going inside we were greeted by a man in his late 20s "hello there, i suppose you and your little girlfriend are here to buy a new ride?" kiana's face turned red at hearing that, with slight pink dusting my face i spoke up "yeah we'll just look around for now" nodding at my words "call me over if you both found the perfect choice" seeing him walk away after saying that i turned to look at kiana who was going around and looking at all the motorcycles that were in the dealership while she avoided making eye contact with me

walking up to her i asked "found one you like yet?" with turning around she replied "not yet" quickly going away to look at more motorcycles, sighing i decided to let her be and try to find one myself

after a while i asked the staff about the modified one to which they took me and kiana to the back garage where in a room the bike was leaned on a wall "that's a project bike we were working on but as you can see we all don't have enough time now so it just sits here catching dust" humming in response

'a project bike huh, there are quite the lot of downsides of getting this one but its going to be easier to do some of my own modifications to it, well fuck it'

"can i buy this one?" getting an eyebrow raise in response the man asked "i mean are you sure? not saying that it wont work at all, it works just like a brand new bike but well its a project bike" waving my hands in a dismissing manner i said "its fine, just means that i have some room to get some of my own modification in it" smiling in response "a smart one aren't you?" to which i replied "not quite"

seeing kiana get on the bike as she tried to balance it "i like this one" she spoke up, "and the other reason" making the staff member just laugh "alright than lets get back to my office I'll get the paper work and the bike will be yours" nodding "lead the way"

after the paper work and the payment was done we were given helmets which we could customize to our preferences "zeren-senpai, does this design look good?" her design consisted of cat paw prints and kianya written on top of the helmet "kianya?" i asked amusedly "what about it? i came up with it on the spot" laughing lightly "yes kianya, it suits you" making her put her helmet on, looking towards me she asked "what about yours?" "mine?" lifting the helmet in my hands "i think I'll keep it as it is" the helmet being completely plain, tilting her head she asked again "why?" smiling "I'll design as the time passed by" she let out a "ohh" on hearing my words

'i won't be using the helmet either way'

getting up from the seat i spoke "how about we get going now"

with the keys in hands and bike Infront i sat on it gripping the handle

'yep this feels just right'

feeling someone sit behind me i look back to see kiana "what are we waiting for? i don't want to miss mei's cooking" exclaimed kiana "hold on tightly than, we are gonna go fast" "wha-" before she could say anything we blasted off towards the campus with the sounds of the roaring engine

feeling kiana remove her hands from my back, as i was about to ask something, "this is so fun" exclaimed kiana feeling the cool wind blow past her making her hair a mess but didn't seem to mind that

"i hope your ready for more speed" i said "i was born ready" replied kiana, smiling i increased the speed of the bike even more as i felt kiana wrap her arms around me

reaching home we both saw mei who had just open the door, looking at the bike and back up to us she asked "did you just buy a motorcycle?" "yep" making mei sweatdrop at my words "well the dinner is ready so get inside already" upon hearing that kiana jumped off the bike rushing into the house yelling "mei's cooking is the best!" along the way "I'll be there in a bit" nodding in response mei walked back in to which i followed after i parked the bike outside

the dinner was pretty uneventful excluding the over exaggerated description of how the ride back to the campus was by kiana, everyone went to their own room to sleep after that, as for me and kaito, we both were getting ready to leave for the mission in the locker room made for knights

"these are a bit too tight" said kaito stretching fabric that hugged his skin tightly "true but these should make sure we don't get injured too badly" i said putting on my own skin tight suit, picking up and opening the briefcase we both got from theresa, there were another set of clothing in there which i presumed to be the actual battlesuits "ah, i think these are the actual battle suits" kaito opened his own briefcase and took his battlesuit out, "this looks pretty cool" taking out my own battle suit as i gave it a look over "I'll agree with that one"

after we were done suiting up we met up with theresa near the docking area for the hyperion where we were given our weapons of choice "alright you two, here are your requested weapons" handing kaito a energy katana and handing me a pair of plain katanas "i still don't understand why you just asked for normal katanas instead of the one kaito asked for." unsheathing and holding up the katanas Infront of me i said "just watch"

'synthesis: alteration'

(skill activation- synthesis: alteration: alter and re-form any inanimate object giving it new properties)

covering the katanas in a purple aura, it deconstructed and i started to reform it into completely different looking katanas

one with a black blade with purple lightning patterns running through it accompanying a bright pink edge and a white hand guard and handle with "雷神" (raijin) written on it

the other, a white blade with cyan wind patterns running through it accompanying a bright blue edge and a black hand guard and handle with "風神" (fujin) written on it

(alteration complete: raijin and fujin, blades blessed with the gods of thunder and wind)

sheathing them both and putting them both on each side of my waist "now you know why i asked for simple katanas" making both kaito and theresa just stare at me "how" both of them asked at the same time, making me give them a smug smile "honkai manipulation" whereas in the inside

'what the fuck, they are not supposed to look like these, why are they both different blades, what happened to the edges, why is the edges not white and black respectively, did the skill add honkai energy to the katanas? are they divine keys now? what is wrong with this skill? how do i write a complaint to the dev? but god damn do they look cooler than before'

walking into the hyperion with kaito and theresa taking the lead, soon we entered a lift that started to take us to the bridge, reaching the bridge i heard the sound I'll never forget

"captain on bridge"

walking out of the elevator i just stood for a moment, knowing that I'm in the game i enjoyed so much and playing a active role in story felt rather unreal, letting out a breath i followed theresa in the lounge area of the hyperion "rest up here, we will leave for nagazora in ten minutes" flopping down on a couch i just gave her a ok hand sign kaito sitting down on the couch opposite saying "alright" in response to theresa

nodding she walked back to the bridge, i pulled out my phone to check the time seeing that it was 2:50am, sitting up and looking around seeing a coffee maker an a desk near the wall, "want some coffee?" i asked kaito to which he answered "yeah" grabbing 2 cups and pouring coffee in them, walking back to the lounge area i handed kaito his cup and sat down opposite to him

taking a sip of the warm coffee from the cup i asked again "got any ideas on what your battle suit does?" kaito shook his head indicating a no "nope, all i know that it increased my physical capabilities by quite the margin" i hummed in response "if i remember it correctly all battle suits increase your physical strength and honkai resistance as a basic feature about them but there are some which also give some special abilities like being able to use elements to enhance your attacks" kaito widened his eyes a bit

"damn that's cool but i don't think ours has those features" i just shrugged response "theresa did say that this were made in a hurry so its safe to assume that these are just prototype battlesuits for knights", "yeah fair enough" we both finished our cups of coffee just in time as we heard a intercom that rang throughout the battleship "all units be prepared, we shall be moving towards nagazora in 1 minute"

hearing that both me and kaito decided to return to the bridge to where theresa was, reaching there just as the hyperion started to hover, theresa turning around and see us both approach her spoke up "you both might want to grab onto something its gonna get bumpy real quick" hearing that i quickly took ahold of the railing kaito doing the same

feeling the hyperion tilt up slowly "start launch" spoke theresa loudly, what followed was me and kaito getting pushed back due to the speed of the launch as it quickly made its way up towards the clouds, breaking through the cloudline the ship slowed down making me sigh "didn't expect that to happen" i said, "almost fell down during that, i didn't expect to feel that much force", said kaito making theresa just let out a laugh

"well get used to it you both will experience this a lot in the near future" looking ahead to see the clear sky above the clouds i asked "how long till we get there?" "with this pace? around 3 hours or so, lets just take a nap in the lounge before we get there" finished theresa with a yawn

getting back to the lounge i decided to see what else can the system do other than allowing me to use skill

'menu' i thought and nothing happened 'open menu' i thought again but once again nothing happened, rather than trying the same thing again i tried something else

'skills' and again nothing happened 'show skills' and to my surprise a window popped up Infront of me with SKILLS written on it and 2 options below it [passive] [active]

thinking for a bit i decided to go with the active option, thinking about the active option i was greeted with another window with alot of columns with name of skills written on them and some which had '?' written on them 'i guess I'll have to use those skills first before they show up on this', scrolling to the bottom i saw that surprised me a lot, [more skill and be added by playing more games.]

'...i can get more skills?, how overpowered am i?'

switching over to the passive section and i saw the that it was the same as the active skills section but with one major difference and that being that there were less passive skills and alot of them had [unlocked when related active skill(s) is used.] written on them 'so i need to use an active skill from a specific skill tree if i want to unlock that skill tree's passive skill'

with that done i tried something else 'rewards' and nothing happened 'of course, its just for skills and nothing else'

relaxing back into the couch i spoke internally 'my training would include me playing more and more games, and the usual workouts and all i did in my past life with more focus towards martial arts and kenjutsu styles, man this is gonna be fun and not fun at the same time' and with that final thought i rested for a while

3 hours passed and the ruined city of nagazora was visible now, "one of the honkai signature is the highest at the chiba academy" said xaou, theresa nodding in reponse "we'll get to the by ourselves, try to find the other source of honkai with hyperion" turning around to see both me and kaito "alright you two get ready we will head to the location of the source ourselves"

reaching the gates the chiba academy we saw some honkai beasts in the way, "the source is in the building it seems" said theresa with a radar in her hand, "I'll clear the way" said kaito walking infront, unsheathing his katana he dashed forward slashing some beasts in half instantly, at that both me and theresa followed after kaito

along the way the concentration of honkai beast had started to get higher and higher indicating that we were certainly going into the right direction, coming across classroom that had a bit too many honkai beast outside it, the radar in theresa's hand pointing towards the classroom "its in the class room" said theresa loud enough to gain the attention of all the honkai beasts, seeing a large one behind them all

just as they started to rush towards us i walked forward unsheathing raijin along the way

'chain slash'

(skill activation- chain slash: charge towards the target and let out an attack followed up by charging towards the closest after, damage increases as more targets are chained)

lightning sparked around me as i disappeared and re-appeared to the nearest honkai beast slashing it completely in-half, doing the same for the next one and doing the same thing until i reached the largest beast, appearing infront of it i let out a highly empowered slash that destroyed the beast completely, sheathing raijin as the skill had ended right infront of the classroom door

"that was fast" spoke up kaito "very" added theresa, laughing lightly i asked "how fast was that" "less than 3 seconds" answered theresa "could have been faster" i said to myself

entering the classroom we saw a girl on her knees and pink lines all over her body

'seems that we arrived here a bit too early, shes not anywhere near herrsher level'

walking towards her making her gaze at me as she muttered a "help me" hearing that theresa spoke up "might as well put the girl out of her misery" unsheathing raijin and positioning it just above her heart i spoke up "sorry that it had to end this way for you"

STAB

at himeko's house

walking out of my room i went to the kitchen to start on making breakfast for everyone, seeing a note on the table addressed to me, picking up the note i read its contents

{i will be on a mission by the time you read this note so don't cook my share of the breakfast , i don't know when I'll be back from the mission but not to worry, theresa and kaito are with on this mission with me - zeren}

"you could have told me that last night" i said, slightly worried for his safety despite him telling me not to worry, putting aside the note and getting back to cooking up the breakfast excluding zeren's share

back to zeren and co

stepping forward but before i could drive raijin through her heart, a vine quickly stabbed through my chest as i felt the honkai levels rise to low herrsher levels

'a trap' we all thought at the same time

kaito quickly moving forward and slashing at the vine cutting it off and jumping back with me "it's a pseudo herrsher, be careful" i spoke up as i held the hole in my chest

'holy touch'

(skill activation- holy touch: heal all physical injuries)

theresa opened up her cross and lashed out with a barrage of attacks with chains and spears, the girl bringing up a wall made of vines to make sure none of the attacks hit her, laughing maniacally she spoke up "that foolish human, to think i would really ask for help from a insect like him, my poison will make sure he dies a very painful death"

at hearing that i spoke up "don't worry it won't kill me but it is making me dizzy" theresa and kaito nodding at my words

'purify'

(skill activation- purify: purge any harming substances from the users body leaving them extremely fatigued)

'well shit'

"kaito go in I'll provide support" spoke up theresa, kaito nodding in response, rushing in once again going straight for the pseudo herrsher's neck as to deal a fatal blow, seeing kaito dashing the pseudo once again brought up the wall of vines to prevent kaito from coming closer to her, a barrage chains quickly got rid of the vine wall to make way for kaito, reaching the girl kaito swung his blade aiming for her neck, jumping back the pseudo avoided the attack and let out a barrage of vines all aimed towards kaito, seeing that i unsheathed fujin and slashed the air creating air blades that ripped the vines to shreds

seeing another opening theresa moved in and tried to stab the pseudo through the chest, seeing this the pseudo made a hole in the wall behind her and jumped backwards towards the ground, kaito followed quickly cutting all the vines sent his way swiftly, kaito landed and without missing a beat went in to attack again as he landed some blows which resulted some cuts on the pseudo which were quickly healed up, theresa followed after them with the cross on her back, but before i could jump down all the fatigue hit me at once making me stumble and fall head first towards the ground, as the impact made me lose consciousness

"zeren's down, either we end this quickly or we retreat" at hearing this the pseudo looked at the downed form of zeren and gave a feral grin "nobody's going anywhere until we're done here humans" spoke up the pseudo, soon gas had started to spread around kaito and theresa both of them covering their nose and mouth in an effort to not inhale the gas "we need backup" spoke kaito to theresa "i can't contact them" replied theresa in distress "this is bad" spoke kaito

after a moment both of them started to feel dizzy and were on the verge of passing out "it's useless trying to resist the gas" she spoke up walking towards the two "you both inhaled the gas and will be dying soon enough", before she could move any closer to the both of them her sight was obstructed by some dirt that was thrown into her eyes, getting her sight back she looked around seeing that everyone had disappeared besides the lager golden cross

in a house far from the school grounds

i jolted up from the bed, looking around to see that i was in a unfamiliar room

"ah, you woke up pretty quickly" as i turned to see who spoke, my eyes widened a bit, it was none other than yae sakura but before i could do or say anything i felt the cold steel of a blade press up against my neck "tell me tainted, are you an ally or a foe" asked sakura in a menacing manner, showing no external emotions i spoke up "an ally"

'iron skin'

(skill activation- iron skin: take 90% less damage on the next physical damage)

'just in-case she does try to chop my head off'

Sakura just stared at me for a few more seconds and then finally lowering her katana form my neck "my apologies, how are you feeling now" releasing the breath i was holding i replied "aside the fact that some girl just tried to cut my head off, perfectly fine" causing sakura to sweat drop

"good to hear that your feeling well, my name is yae sakura, a shrine priestess for yae village" she introduced herself giving a slight bow at the end "my name is zeren, a knight for schicksal" seeing her nod i asked "what did you mean by 'tainted' is it some word you use for injured people?" looking back at she answered "your energy is of the tainted one's"

hearing that made me pause in confusion for a bit "oh you mean honkai energy?" her eyebrow rose at my words "it's the same energy as the monsters you saw outside" nodding "it's called honkai energy, i see" walking over to the downed form of kaito and theresa she placed a wet towel on both of their foreheads, i walked over and stood besides sakura "how's their condition" i asked to which sakura just frowned a bit "the poison gas has affected the boy less unlike kalle- the girl, it has affected her badly and it shows no sign of stopping" redoing the towel on theresa's head

'i suppose I'll ignore that slipup'

"it's futile, the humans is beyond saving, just give up on her already" we both heard a voice speak up "i can still save her" a large ghastly nine tailed fox manifested in the room "just give up already, there is no cure for the toxin of the herrsher, why waste your time trying to save a corpse" it moved close to theresa, opening its mouth "here let me tear her throat out so we can get a move on already" at those words sakura snapped at the fox "BEGONE FOX" loudly said sakura swiping her hand making the figure of the fox disappear

hearing shuffling i looked back to see kaito getting up "where am i?" he asked to which i replied "were in a hideout somewhat far from the school" sitting up he looked around his gaze finally landing on theresa "is she alright" shaking my head in response "she's badly affected by the the pseudo"

pointing over to sakura i said "she all got us all out of there" sakura bowing her head in response "my name is yae sakura, nice to meet you" bowing in response "my name is kaito saikawa, and thank you for getting us all out of there" sakura smiling in response "I'll go see if i can call for back up" said kaito walking out of the room

after a while i walked over to where theresa was lying, putting my palm on her head, "what are you doing?" asked sakura seeing my action "trying to see if i can help with the poison in any way

'inspect'

(skill activation- inspect: get information on its properties when used on inanimate objects, get information on health status when used on living beings)

(inspection result: heavily exhausted, poison with honkai properties spreaded throughout the body)

"this will be tricky to get rid of" i said moving hand right above her heart 'since the poison has honkai in it i should be able to somewhat move it to a singular place and use purify to get rid of it' closing my eyes and focusing on poison throughout her body, i willed it all to move below to where my hand was

while i focused on gathering all the poison at one place, theresa opened her eyes slightly to see the worried face of sakura, reaching for her face with her hands, touching it gently she softly spoke "I'll always protect you" closing her eyes again as her hand fell limp at her side

hearing the words spoken by theresa, sakura's head was flooded by all the memories she had with kallen "give up on her already, how many times will i have to say this? there is no cure of the poison, you're truly gone mad if you still think you can save her" spoke up the fox in her head, gritting her teeth she spoke up mentally "no more words from you fox" getting a growl in response "why must you be so hellbent on trying to achieve something unachievable, is it because she looks and smells like your beloved?" sakura stayed silent as she caressed theresa's face

"there is still a way" sakura thought "you cant be serious, think twice before you do anything fool", "I've made my decision", moving her face closer to theresa's "i couldn't save kallen but I'll give up my life to save you"

meanwhile

'this is taking too damn long' i thought as sweat poured down the sides of my face, feeling all the poison finally gather at one place

'purify'

(skill activation- purify)

feeling the poison disappear i slouch in my chair somewhat tired, looking over to sakura my eyes widen a bit seeing sakura moving her face close to theresa's but before their faces could meet theresa snapped open her eyes jolting up, both theresas and sakuras faces meeting on the way resulting in a kiss between the two, sakura being caught off-guard couldn't do what she intended to so as she just melted into the kiss, i looked away letting the two make out without any interruptions

after a few moments i turned to look back at them seeing sakura with a flushed face on top of theresa who's face was equally flushed with a string of saliva connecting from both of their mouths, coughing into my hand i spoke up "sorry to ruin the moment for you two but we have a pseudo herrsher to deal with" this caught both of their attention as they both looked towards me "you two can continue when we get back home so how about we get done with this mission first" both separated quickly faces still flushed, "y-yes, we have to complete the mission first" said theresa, sakura nodding along while trying to hide her face

kaito rushed into the room with an worried expression on his face "you alright man?" i asked

"i still can't contact the Hyperion"
