A/N: sorry for the delay I've been working on a new project that will be published next year so been fighting to meet a deadline. its currently with my editor so I had time to work on this a bit

Jareth threw pillows, sheets, and anything else he could get his hands on as he screamed in frustration. "Cursed Dragon ale why in the devil did I drink such a foul drink on such a night!"

Still muttering curses under his breath, Jareth changed into one of his suits. Now that he was certain that his forgotten drunken night involved Sarah, he was determined to find her and figure out exactly what happened.

As he fixed his tie, he glanced at the slips of paper on the table. "I suppose these places are the best places to check." Once his tie was done, he grabbed a pad and pen from the bedside table. He always wondered why they provided those at every hotel, now he was glad they did.

He wrote down the names from the receipts and headed for the door, tucking the pen and paper into his jacket pocket. As soon as he stepped outside a helpful bellhop hailed a taxi for him. "Where to Mr?"

Handing the cabbie the paper he told him. "I need to go to these places. Go to the closest first. I will most likely require your services for most of the night." Reaching into his pocket, Jareth pulled out a $100 bill. You'll be rewarded handsomely, I promise."

"Happy to help, sir." The cabbie grinned as he tipped his sweat-stained LA dodgers baseball cap. Without another word, they were on their way to the closest location, Dick's.

When Jareth entered the building he couldn't believe that he would ever visit such a place. The tables were large picnic tables with paper table clothes. They were filled with people wearing large bibs and ridiculous paper hats with odd sayings on them. One read "My Beaver has Fleas." and another said "Gold Digger" and he almost chuckled at the one that said, "It's my birthday and it's not going suck itself."

He looked around shaking his head as he waited for the girl t the counter to finish with the customer ahead of him. "Hope you liked the food, if not, don't come back."

Surprised by her rudeness, he started to speak up until he saw the lady laughing. "It was great and we love coming here. We come every year we visit Vegas." He watched her leave and then he noticed the sign. This was a place where the staff was expected to be slightly rude and nasty. It was all a big joke, which explained the hats a bit.

"Alright, Mister I don't got all day. What do you want?" The girl at the register said as she tried to look uninterested.

"Sorry to bother you. I believe I was here last night and well I was wondering if you knew if I was with anyone."

"Hey Earl, we got another blackout!" she yelled and then walked away. A moment later a large man carrying a photo album approached the counter. "Do you know when you were here?"

"Last night, I think. There was a receipt for this establishment in my hotel suite." Jareth told him.

"Ok, well if you were here, you'll be in here." Earl explained as he flipped through the book. "ah, here you are. I remember you now. It's not often a guest requests to write on her companion's hat." he chuckled as he turned the book towards Jareth.

Leaning closer, Jareth saw a photo of him wearing one of those ridiculous hats. It read, "My hair says rockstar but my microphone says accountant" Glaring at the photo he tried to see who his companion was but she had her hands over her face laughing and her large hat, which read, "ask my if the drapes match the curtains" was pulled down shadowing her closed eyes.

"Can you tell me anything about the lady I was with?"

"She was very pretty and thoroughly enjoyed my staff insulting you, though you were a bit of a spoilsport at the end."

After asking more questions, all he learned was his companion was fun and he was "a stick in the mud". He was sure it was Sarah but he had no proof and no idea where she was now. So he went back outside and headed to his next destination.
