Chapter 5: The Truth

Monitoring Room, UA
In the monitoring room, everyone is silent after watching the events unfold. Everyone watches Orion descend from the fifth floor and lays down Iida's unconscious body next to Midoriya. Kaminari is the first one to break the silence.
"Wow, t-that was intense." the 'electrification' user points out.
"Well this is an intense class, gero." Tsu points out.
"EVERYONE STAY HERE. I'LL GO AND CHECK ON YOUR CLASSMATES." All Might says as he quickly.

Third Floor, Building F
As All Might arrives on the scene, he sees the medical robot begin to load both Iida and Midoriya on gurneys while muttering something along the lines of 'humans are so soft'. All Might checks both of them and sees only minor injuries, letting him release a sigh of relief. He then sees Orion walk towards Bakugo, so he quickly jumps in front of Orion.
"YOUNG ORION, YOU DID WELL TODAY. NO NEED TO DO ANYTHING ELSE. I'LL SEE YOU BACK IN THE MONITORING ROOM." All Might calmly says, getting a nod back from the American.
"YOUNG BAKUGO, LET'S RETURN TO THE MONITORING ROOM. THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO LEARN WHETHER YOU WIN OR LOSE." Bakugo nods as he follows All Might back.

Monitoring Room
After returning to the monitoring room, All Might proceeds to playback some of the footage from the mock battle. "ALRIGHT CLASS, NOW THAT THE MATCH IS OVER, WHO IS MVP OF THE MATCH?" All Might sees one hand raised, belonging to one of the two recommendation students, Yaoyarozu Momo. He motions for her to proceed.
"Sir, in my honest opinion I think it's either Orion-san or Iida-san. Both embraced their respective role as the hero and villain. Meanwhile, Bakugo-san went off on his own, leaving his teammate and instead focusing on what seems to be a personal grudge on Midoriya-san. As well both Bakugou-san and Midoriya-san caused way too much damage to the building with their attacks. So for that reason either Orion-san and Iida-san should be named MVP." Momo finished
"Momo Yaoyorozu - Quirk: Creation - Her quirk allows her to create any non-living material/object from exposed skin but she has to understand the molecular structure. She is also one of the four students to get in on recommendations"
"Y-YES, WELL SAID YOUNG YAOYOROZU. I WAS GOING TO NAME BOTH YOUNG ORION AND YOUNG IIDA AS THE MVPS. NOW LET'S CONTINUE THE MOCK BATTLES. " All Might nervously responds.
One by one each mock battle continued. With every passing battle, Bakugo began to realize that each one of these 'extras' were talented in their own right. This just fueled the anger within him. Especially knowing that both Deku and the fur-ball beat him.
Finally after an hour, the last mock battle ended with a victory going to both Ochaco and Asui. After that, All Might led the class back to the entrance of Training Ground Beta.
"GATHER AROUND EVERYONE. YOU ALL DID A FANTASTIC JOB TODAY!" All Might praises.
"It's nice to be praised after homeroom. Aizawa-sensei isn't always so encouraging." The green haired girl admits.
"I'M HAPPY TO BRING POSITIVITY! NOW I SHALL GO AND CHECK ON YOUNG IIDA AND YOUNG MIDORIYA! WATCH HOW A HERO LEAVES, LIKE HE'S GOT SOMEWHERE TO BE!" The pro-hero dashes off, leaving a trail of dust in his wake.
"Wow, he's so cool." Kaminari says.
Orion starts heading towards the locker room while his classmates continue to geek out about All Might. As he makes his way towards the locker room, he feels the presence of someone approaching and slightly turns his head to see his raven-headed classmate, Tokoyami.
"Orion-san. I wanted to formally introduce myself. I'm Tokoyami Fumikage." The bird-headed boy extends his hand out. Orion smirks and shakes his hand.
"Nice to meet you, Tokoyami." Orion responds. Both teens head into the locker room to change.
"Tokoyami Fumikage - Quirk: Dark Shadow - His quirk allows him to manifest a sentient shadow like creature that he can contract at will. Only downside is the dark; it is the less control he has over dark shadow."

Locker Rooms, UA High School
Orion is the first to walk out of the locker room, leaving him to stand outside and wait for Tokoyami. After a few more minutes, Tokoyami walks out but with some company. Next to Tokoyami is the tallest student in the class, Shoji Mezo.
"My Apologies, Orion-san. I invited Shoji-san to walk with us. I hope that's okay." The teen asks.
"Nah, it's fine. Nice to meet you Shoji, I'm Orion." The American raises his fist, ready to receive a fist bump.
"You as well." The masked student replies, accepting the fist bump. The trio were making their way towards the cafeteria when they were stopped just before turning the corner. Orion looks back to see Jirou running to catch up.
"Wow, so you're just gonna ditch me already?" Jirou teases, causing Orion to stutter an answer.
"W-what? N-no I would N-never." This is the response she wanted.
"I'm just messing with you, dude." Jirou lightly punches Orion's arm. "By the way, I invited Hagakure to join us." Orion nods as a pair of floating clothes catches up to them.
The group are the first to arrive back in class. Orion is the first to finish packing, so he lets the group know that he is gonna wait for them at the entrance gate, earning nods from them. After making his way outside the school, he waits for his new friends there. After a few minutes, he hears someone yell out the name 'Bakugo'. Curiou, he leans towards the gate and peeks inside, finding Midoriya in his hero costume, face to face with Bakugo.
"Why is the moptop looking for Bakugo?" The American thinks to himself.
"I want to tell you something. I owe it to you. I wasn't hiding my quirk from you, honest. I was given it by someone recently." Midoriya admits.
"What does he mean by 'given to?" Orion thinks.
"I can't tell you who gave it to me, so don't ask. It feels like something out of a comic book but I can't control his borrowed power. I want to make this power my own, that's why I didn't use it during the training exercise. In the end, I only used it to win."
"I still have a lot to learn, obviously. I'll train hard and next time, I'll beat you using my own power." Midoriya declared. After a few seconds, both Orion and Bakugo were looking at Midoriya with a deadpan expression.
"He's got balls, I'll give him that." Orion admits.
"Who the hell do you think I am? Borrowed quirk? You think I'm stupid or something. You already made a fool of me during that stupid training exercise. Did you come here to rub it in my face? I lost and to make it worse it was to you!" The blond yells before continuing once again.
"Not only did I come in second during the exam but after watching the ice guy and that giant fur-ball in action, I realized that I could never beat them in a head to head battle! Fuck, I even agree with what that big boobed bimbo said! Damn it! Damn it! DAMN IT! Enjoy this win, cause it'll be the last one you get from me. I'll be the next #1 hero, I promise you that!" With those final words, Bakugo turns his heels and leaves.
Near the gate, Orion hides his presence. His mind is racing with all this new knowledge he just heard. After a few more seconds, Bakugo stomps past the gate and heads in the opposite direction. Orion looks back and sees Midoriya, whispering something with none other than All Might.
"I wonder what they're whispering about." Orion thinks.
After waiting a few more minutes, Jirous and his friends arrive. Orion decides to figure everything out tomorrow. For now, he'll enjoy the company of his new friends. As the group walk to the station, they get to know each other.
"So, Orion-kun, are you here with your parents?" The invisible teen acks.
"No, before I left they joined a new team of heroes that was being set up by the US government. So they can't be here but they did say they would visit." Orion responds, not letting his friends see the sad smile on his face.
"So then what do you eat?" Jirou asks
"Oh I learned to cook pretty good meals before I moved you want, I can cook for you sometime." Orion teases. Jirou smacks his arm playfully.
"If that's your attempt at asking me out, you've got a long way to go." Jirou teases as she and Hagakure laugh. No one noticed but as she said that, her face turned a new shade of red. Finally arriving at the station, the group get on and make their way home for the day.

Tuesday, April 11th, UA Cafeteria
It's been an exciting day in UA so far. Not only was Orion hogged by reporters asking about All Might but now the school was on lock down. Earlier, Class 1-A picked their class rep and vice-rep in Midoriya and Yaoyorozu. Now, Orion is watching all the students try and get out of the cafeteria along with his friends.
Orion has been carefully watching Midoriya ever since yesterday's events. He's been waiting for the best moment to talk to him privately. The American looks up and sees the class's 'rule follower' floating through the air, propelling himself towards the exit sign. After landing on top of the exit, he tries to call out to the students but is only met with louder chatter. Finally Orion decides to lend a hand.
"Leopard's Roar!" Orion releases a loud roar that shakes the room, causing all the students to fall and stop their movement. Orion then motions for Iida to continue.
"Everybody stop! It's okay, it's just a bunch of reporters that made it into the school! We're UA students, we should act like it!" The glasses wearing teen yells out.
"Hey, he's right! It's just the press!" One student confirms.
After everything calms down, Orion tells his friends that he'll see them back in class. Nodding in response, Orion makes his way to Midoriya and grabs his shoulder.
"Midoriya, can we talk?" The 'Leopard' quirk user asks, earning a nod from Midoriya. The two walk away from the crown, into a less populated hallway.
"W-what is it t-that you wanted t-to talk about?" Midoriya stutters out.
"Yesterday, I overheard a pretty interesting conversation between Bakugo and you. One that mentions you being given a quirk." Orion sternly says. He watches Midoriya's face turn into one of shock and fear.
"Midoriya, calm down. I won't tell anyone." Orion assures him.
"T-thank you but I need you to follow me." Midoriya asks. Orion nods and the two teens head towards the teacher's lounge.

All Might's Private Office, UA High School
Midoriya leads Orion to a private office at the center of the school. As both teens walk in, Orion notices a skinny and blonde man sitting on the couch. Orion gives Midoriya a confused look but Midoriya motions for him to close the door.
"Young Midoriya, what's the meaning of this.?" The blonde man asks.
"Yea Midoriya, why did you bring me here? Also, who's this?" The American asks.
"Toshinori-san, he knows." As soon as those words leave Midoriya's mouth, the room's tension rises. Orion looks at the blonde man and sees steam coming off him. Just then, the man's body begins to grow and now sitting in front of the two teens is none other than All Might.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN, HE KNOWS?" The pro-hero asks.
"He overheard my conversation with Bakugo yesterday." Midoriya admits. Orion nods to confirm.
"WELL, NOTHING WE CAN DO NOW. SIT, YOUNG ORION. IF WE ARE TO TRUST YOU WITH OUR SECRET, YOU MIGHT AS WELL KNOW THE WHOLE TRUTH ABOUT 'ONE FOR ALL'." All Might tells the young american.
All Might tells Orion the truth about Midoriya's quirk. Starting from the origins to the time he met Midoriya a year before the entrance exam. Orion took every word in and listened carefully.
"That is where we are right now." All Might finishes. Orion strokes his chin and absorbs all the info.
"Thank you, All Might-sensei, for trusting me. I promise to keep your secret but in exchange, I want to help Midoriya in his training." Orion requests.
"That won't be necessary, Young Midoriya is progressing well in his training." All Might assures the teen.
"I'm sorry but you're wrong. I don't know if you realize but last time he used his quirk, he broke his arm. To me that doesn't seem like progress." Orion shoots back. All Might tries to retort but can't disagree with Orion.
"I know you never had any trouble using 'one for all' when you first received it, but Midoirya isn't you. He can't just fire it at 100% like you. Before the mock battle, I gave him some tips on how to better use it so I want to help him continue to perfect it." Orion says. All Might strokes his chin in thought but eventually nods his head.
"Well, if Midoriya thinks it's worth a try then I have no objections." All Might reluctantly agrees. Just then the bell rings, announcing that the lunch break is over. Both students say goodbye for now, with a promise to meet after school for training.
After returning to class, Midoriya informs the class that he is stepping down as class rep. He gives his position to Yaoyorozu while also suggesting Iida as vice-rep. After everyone agrees, the new class reps are Yaoyorozu and Iida. With the rest of the classes passing by in a blur, the end of the day arrived for Class 1-A.
"Hey, Orion. Are you ready to go?" The purplette asks.
"You go on ahead, I'm meeting up with Nemuri-sensei for a while." Orion responds.
"You sure you don't want me- I mean us wait for you." Jirou asks.
"I'm sure, Jirou. I'm gonna be here for a while." Orion assures her, receiving a nod from the 'earphone jack' quirk user. Orion watches as Jirou, Hagakure, Shoji and Tokoyami all walk out. Orion packs up his stuff and walks to Midoriya.
"Midoriya, are you ready to go?" The brown haired teen asks. Midoriya nods and soon the two head out to meet with All Might.

Training Gym Gamma, UA High
Standing inside of gym gamma are both All Might and Cementoss. As the two pro-heroes chat amongst themself, Orion and Midoriya both arrive wearing their gym uniforms.
"AH! YOUNG MIDORIYA AND YOUNG ORION ARE HERE!" All Might exclaims.
"Hello All Might-sensei, Ishiyama-sensei." Midoriya greets the two.
"Yo." Is all Orion says.
"I HAVE BROUGHT CEMENTOSS HERE TO HELP CREATE SOME PILLAR TO TRAIN WITH. CEMENTOSS, IF YOU WOULD." The pro-hero informs his students.
"No problem." The 'cement' user nods as he uses his quirk to create several pillars around the gym.
"If that's all for now, All Might, I'll be in the teacher's lounge." Cementoss informs them as he heads towards the exit.
"ALRIGHT, NOW WHAT IS THIS IDEA YOU MENTIONED EARLIER YOUNG ORION." All Might asks.
"When I first received my quirk, I wasn't able to morph into my hybrid forms immediately. I first was only able to morph my arms or my legs or just grow my tail. My teeth are the only thing that never turned back to normal." Orion informs them, demonstrating by morphing his arm into claws.
"It took some time and training but eventually I was able to spread my quirk throughout my body and morph my whole body, thus gaining my hybrid form. Eventually I gained my full leopard form and then my light mode." Orion continues.
"But how does that help me?" Midoriya asks.
"Well from what you've told me, you've been using just your arms or legs. Right?" Orion asks, earning a nod from Midoriya.
"Well it seems that you pour 100% of your power into just an arm or legs, but they can't handle all of that power which is what causes you to break your bones." Orion explains. Just then something clicked for Midoriya.
"I got it! Until now, I've been summoning 'one for all' when I need it, in the places I need it. It's like a switch but if I do that then my reaction time gets slower and slower." Midoriya takes a few steps forward and starts concentrating. "Which means that I shouldn't be turning the switch off! I just need to leave the power on and imagine the energy that I used to focus in one place and spread it through my entire body!" Suddenly, Midoriya's entire body begins to be surrounded by green lightning.
"Try and only use the amount of power you can use." Orion suggests. Midoriya looks at All Might and grins as the power surges through his body. Orion smiles as he watches Midoriya's lighting begin to surge.
"Try moving." Midoriya nods and takes a step forward but accidentally launches himself with blazing speed and runs into a cement pillar.
"YOUNG MIDORIYA! ARE YOU ALRIGHT?" All Might worriedly asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Toshinori-san, I can feel it." Midoriya states.
"FEEL WHAT?" All Might questions.
"I can feel that this is the first step into making 'One for All' into my own quirk." Midoriya clenches his fist as he feels 'One for All' coursing through him.
"Good, because now it's time to test it out in some combat." Orion says as he removes his shoes and shirt. He then begins to morph into his hybrid form. "Bring it on, Midoriya." All Might watches his two students with a big grin on his face.

The Raft, Atlantic Ocean
Somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, a prison that has been used since before quirks came to be. The Raft is an underwater prison meant to hold the worst of the worst. Every inmate in it wears a quirk dampening collar at all times. Somewhere in the deepest part of the Raft, a man with long scruffy hair, sits in his cell when suddenly the collar around his neck turns from red to green. The man reaches for the collar and removes it, grinning at the same time.
"Guess it's party time." The man growls out. Just as his cell opens, he begins to transform into a large creature and lets out a large roar.

AUTHOR'S NOTES: Here is chapter 5, I wanted this version of Midoriya to be a little stronger than in canon. I also wanted my OC to get along with most of the class, especially Midoriya. That's why I had the idea that Orion be the one to inspire Midoriya with Full Cowling. So the next arc is the USJ arc. Also the man in the last part of the story will play a major part in this story so he will return. Next chapter will have a small scene with Orion's parents.
