Hi everyone, Rosestar48 here! Today we'll be finishing the match between Kurosaki and Dennis and Yuto will be introduced.
Curse of the Resistors
"The final match of the Friendship Cup's first round is Kurosaki vs Dennis" Yuzu recaps as Kurosaki Summond Raidraptor - Fiend Eagle and Dennis Summons Trapeze Magician (ATK: 2500) "This is amazing! Dennis also Xyz Summoned!" Melissa narrates. "The very first Xyz showdown in Friendship Cup history!" She exclaims. "A red-hot development worthy of the first round finale!" Melissa calls it. "And my opponent reveals his hand!" Kurosaki states. Dennis frowns "Now, show us! Your true colours!" Kurosaki tells Dennis. "Is this what you wanted to see?" Dennis asks Kurosaki as he holds up the Polymerization card. "Fusion Summon! Appear now! Level 10! Chaos Ancient Gear Giant!" Dennis chants. ""I-It's enormous!" Melissa gasps. "W…W-What on earth is that?!" She asks. "You are from Academia!" Kurosaki snaps. Yuzu, Yuya, Yuri were all shocked. "Now, let the hunting game begin" Dennis coldly tells Kurosaki as he smiles.
"Academia? True colours?" Melissa confuses. "What is he talking about?" She asks. "But there's no doubt this Duel is getting heated!" Melissa, shaking it off, declares. "Dennis is…from Academia…" Yuzu shocked asked. "I'm certain that the enemy has already sipped into the City" Reiji explains to the Executive Council. "And I wondered what you were about to say" Gael comments. "You look like you've already identified the person in question" Azul notes. "You are in the know, aren't you" Reiji comments to the Executive Council. But no-one responds "In any case, let's see the Duel through to the end for now" White Taki calmly suggests. "Cancelling it would throw the citizens into disorder" He stares.
"Kurosaki's LP is currently 2500!" Melissa declares (Kurosaki's LP: 2500). "He's putting up a good fight with his 2000 ATK, Rank 6 Revolution Falcon!" She states (ATK: 2000). "On the other hand, Dennis commands Chaos Ancient Gear Giant!" Melissa declares. "A Level 10 behemoth of a monster with 4500 ATK!" She states (ATK: 4500). "Let me show you my gratitude for ripping off my mask" Dennis requested (Dennis's LP: 2400). "You bastard…" Kurosaki insults him, while Yuya, Yuri, Reira and Roger all watch.
Kurosaki looks back as the shadow of Chaos Giant looms over him "I won't let this loathsome monster rampage again!" He vows. "If you could do that, Heartland would still be peaceful, right?" Dennis replies. "Shut up!" Kurosaki tells Dennis. "I flip two face-down cards!" He declares. "Continuous Trap: Raidraptor - Chain Lock!" Kurosaki exclaims. "Raidraptor - Reactor!" He proclaims. "Once per turn, Chain Lock can change the Position of a monster my opponent Special Summoned whose ATK is higher than the total ATK of all Raidraptor on my field" Kurosaki explains and giant chains wrap around Chaos Giant and bind it. "And Reactor's effect!" Kurosaki declares. "A monster who changed Position is destroyed, and you take damage equal to its ATK!" He explains. "A formidable Double-Trap!" Melissa calls it. "It's over! Dennis's LP hits zero!" She declares. "Chaos Ancient Gear Giant's effect!" Dennis declares. "This monster can't be affected by my opponent's Spell or Trap effect!"He explains. Chaos Giant breaks the chains, sending the massive links flying through the stadium, including several that head directly for Melissa. Fortunately they dissolve before they can hit her box but Melissa is still shaken from the near miss "It…feels like…Dennis became kind of brutal?" Melissa asks."It's like the villain role he played in his street performance" She shivers notes. "Well, it's fine as long as thing are getting pumped, but…" Melissa claims. "Yeah, things are pumped alright!" She agrees.
"No way…Dennis is from Academia…?" Yuzu shocked. "There's no way…" She protests. "Battle! I attack Revolution Falcon with Chaos Giant!" Dennis declares. "Crush of Darkness!" He yells. Chaos Giant reaches out and grabs Revolution Falcon by the torso "Dennis avoids the formidable Double-Trap and strikes!" Melissa declares. "If his attack hits, Kurosaki's LP will be taken out!" She exclaims. "But when Revolution Falcon is in battle with a Special Summoned monsters, their ATK and DEF are reduced to zero—" Kurosaki reminds Dennis. "You can't do that" Dennis irrupts. "When Chaos Giant attacks, it negates the opposing monster's effect" He explains. The clamp-hand holding Revolution Falcon glows blue and the flames from the wing turbines of Revolution Falcon die out. "What did you say?!" Kurosaki gasps. Ascending higher above the stadium, Chaos Giant smashes the helpless Revolution Falcon into an ornamental spike, scattering the fragments above the crowd and passing the throne of Jack. The crowd cheers the violence, but Jack remains impassive. Chaos Giant then throws Revolution Falcon, and the Winged Beast hits the ground, throwing up debris. The sight causes Kurosaki to recall the Invasion of Xyz Dimension.

The Chaos Giants that marched through the blazing Heartland City. Shay and several other Duelists, including Ruri, opposed the Chaos Giants.

The sight causes Ruri to stir within Yuzu "R-Ruri…" Yuzu whispers her counterpart's name in shock.
Revolution Falcon swoops out of the smoke that its crash caused, straight into a punch launched by Chaos Giant, launching it through the air and finally breaking off Revolution Falcon's left wing. "It's toying with its target…" Yuya whispers. "Why do they have to fight like that…?" He asks. Revolution Falcon crashes into the glass shielding the Tops, shocking the watching crowd. In Yuzu's room, Ruri appears beside her "Ruri's fury within me is…" Yuzu notes. "That means Dennis is indeed from Academia" She confirms. Dennis steers through the debris "If I destroy your 2000 ATK Revolution Falcon and you take 2500 damage as a result, your LP will hit zero exactly" He notes. "It's game over" Dennis declares. Chaos Giant throws the recaptured Revolution Falcon at the track in front of Kurosaki, causing a massive explosion.
"It's finally, finally decide…" Melissa declares, but she's proven wrong when Kurosaki drives out of the smoke alongside his Raidraptor - Last Strix (Kurosaki's LP: 200). "What?" Dennis shocked. "When I took damage, I activated the effect of Raidraptor - Last Strix from my hand!" Kurosaki states. "For every Spell and Trap on my field, I reduce the damage I take by 100 points, and Special Summon!" He explains (DEF: 100). "Kurosaki held on with a mere 200 LP!" Melissa narrates the event. "The card from back then, I see…" Dennis remembers Last Strix from when Shay drew and revealed it due to the effect of Raidraptor - Target Flag.

"I draw one card and reveal it" Kurosaki explains. "The card is Raidraptor - Last Strix. A Monster Card" He reveals. Dennis gasps. "When the targeted Trapeze Magician leaves the field, I destroy Target Flag and then check your hand" Kurosaki states.

"You know, right?" Dennis comments. "Chaos Giant can attack all of my opponent's monsters" He states. "I destroy Lat Strix with Chaos Giant…" Dennis declares. Chaos Giant pokes the little Raidraptor and it dissolves. "And end my turn" He states. "Still hanging on?" Dennis asks Kurosaki. "No matter how much I'm cornered, I'll survive" Kurosaki retorts. "I'll crush you no matter what" He vows. "With my iron will and steeled strength" Kurosaki states. "What an admirable spirit" Dennis calls Kurosaki's spirit. "You learned that at the pro Dueling training school, right?" He states. "Why do you know about that?" Kurosaki asks Dennis. "I know a lot about you" Dennis replies. "Should I share a bit of valuable news?" He asks. "This is from my time in Heartland" Dennis states.
(Flashback)
Performing on the streets Dennis fanned out his cards in Heartland City "It's showtime!" He announces. "Who in the audience will liven up this show with me?" Dennis asked for a volunteer from the crowd. But then he saw a boy with sweep up hair, with black at the back with light purple in the front in the crowd, he had his Performage Trapeze Magician snatch him up and deposit him in front of him. Bowing to him "You absolutely must be my opponent in a Duel if Trapeze Magician sought you out" Dennis claims.

"The adults and children watching all had smiles on their faces" Dennis gloomily explains. "But when I found him, the fin was over" He states. "It was awful" Dennis admits. "I wanted to keep doing those street performance" He confess.

"But since I found him, I…" Dennis states as he remembers meeting that boy.

"I had no choice but to green light the hunting game" Dennis states.

The destruction of Heartland Tower is shown, and in the aftermath, Dennis looks at the ruined city. A portal opened beside him, and Selena emerged, cloaked in her mantle. "You kept me waiting, Selena" Dennis comments. "So? About the boy?" Selena asks Dennis. "He's over there" Dennis explained that he was with the Resistance in a refugee camp; a shattered dome near the two of them. "A refugee camp, huh?" Selena comments. Yeah. The Resistance set up their base in that corner" Dennis states. The two of them found the boy that Dennis had met. "The bracelet boy's right there" Dennis indicated as he waited in line for water; the boy had a metal bracelet in the design of feathers around his wrist. The boy noticed them, and Dennis raised his hand and waved in greeting. "The rest is all yours" Dennis tells Selena. "Since I've met him before, I can't make any moves on him" He states. "The Professor gave that job to me specifically" Selena reassured Dennis, raising her Duel Disk beneath her cloak. Selena pursued the boy down an alleyway, and cornered him "What's the matter? Do you like playing tag?" Selena asks. "Please don't make trouble" She tells the boy. The boy strapped on his Duel Disk in response "So you wanna duke it out?" Selena questions. "How unruly" She calls the boy. "Sure, let's do this" Selena agrees. "If I win our Duel, listen to what I have to say" She tells the boy. The boy, whose face is the same as Yuya, Yuri, and Yugo's, simply looks at Selena determinedly. "Alright?" Selena asks.

"His name was…Yuto" Dennis confirms the boy's name. "Say that again?!" Kurosaki ask Dennis. "He's your best friend, right?" Dennis comments. Yuya, Yuri and Yuzu are all shocked. "Surpised?" Dennis asks Kurosaki.
In an entrance to the stands, Sora eavesdrops on the Duel, sucking on a lollipop.
"You bastard, why Yuto?!" Kurosaki angrily asks Dennis. "I was just followed orders" Dennis replies. "That means Yuto's at Academia, right?" Kurosaki notes. "What are you going to do with him?!" He angrily asks. "I don't know" Dennis replies. "If you want to know, why don't you hurry on to Academia instead of Dueling here?" He tells Kurosaki. "Before you set off on this journey, didn't you declare that you'd save Yuto even if you had to do it alone?" Dennis inquires. "Yeah, I'll go" Kurosaki agrees. "Those who sent my comrades to hell, captured Yuto…" He vows. Watching the Duel with Yuzu "And you, who took Heartland's smiles away!" Ruri adds Dennis to the list.
"I'll crush you all!" Kurosaki shouts. "My turn!" He declares and draws. "I activate Rank-Up-Magic Soul Shave Force!" Kurosaki declares. "I pay half my LP to Special Summon Revolution Falcon from my Graveyard" He explains (Kurosaki's LP: 100), and Revolution Falcon reappears on the field (ATK: 2000). "I treat it as material and Overlay!" Kurosaki declares. "Dauntless falcon. Swirl up a raging inferno and become the flash of light that sears the land to ash! Rank-Up Xyz Change! Soar! Rank 8! Raidraptor - Satellite Cannon Falcon!" He chants. Satellite Cannon Falcon appears (ATK: 3000). "W-What's this!" Melissa asks. "Even with an empty hand, he pulled off a miracle draw and evolved his Xyz monster!" She declares.

Kurosaki remembers seeing several of his comrades being sealed in cards by the red-jacketed Academia students.

"For my comrades who were hunted in cold blood and sealed in graveyards called cards, I'll smash you to smithereens!" Kurosaki vows. "I activate Satellite Cannon Falcon's monster effect!" He declares. "Once per turn, I use one Overlay Unit and decrease one opponent monster's ATK by 800!" Kurosaki explains.
"Only 800!" Dennis laughs. "This effect can be activated as many times as the number of Raidraptor in my Graveyard!" Kurosaki explains. "What?!" Dennis gasps in shock. "Five Raidraptor rest in my Graveyard!" Kurosaki reminds Dennis. "Go! Satellite Cannon Falcon!" He declares. "Incinerate with the rage of the hunted!" Kurosaki orders and Satellite Cannon Falcon spreads out the fins on its back and brings its cannons to bear. "The first!" Kurosaki declares the firsts strike, and the specter of a Raidraptor - Skull Eagle rises from the Graveyard, converts itself into green energy, which "Satellite Cannon Falcon" absorbs and fires from its cannons at Chaos Giant. The Fusion Monster reels backwards (Chaos Giant's ATK: 3700). "The path to defeat and despair stretches before you!" Kurosaki declares as Yuzu and Ruri watch. "The second" He declares the second strike. Absorbing the second Skull Eagle, Satellite Cannon Falcon blasts Chaos Giant again (Chaos Giant's ATK: 2900), "Taste the pain of my best friend, Yuto, whose future you stole away!" Kurosaki dedicates the next strike to his best friend, Yuto. Dennis grits his teeth. "The third!" Kurosaki declares the third strike. The specter of Fiend Eagle rises from the Graveyard, and is absorbed and blasted at Chaos Giant (Chaos Giant's ATK: 2100). "Kurosaki's fury is…" Yuya notes as the stone in his bracelet glows. "It won't end like this!" Dennis cries and he goes for an Action Card, but he hits a bump in the road created during the previous Battle Phase, and his D-Wheel jumps into the air and out of reach of the card. "He failed to grab an Action Card!" Melissa notes, as she groans in sympathy. "For closing off the path to her ambitions…Taste the hatred of my one and only little sister, Ruri!" Kurosaki tells Dennis. "Ruri's hatred…" Yuzu whispers. "The fourth!" Kurosaki orders and this time, Satellite Cannon Falcon absorbs the specter of"Last Strix and blasts it at Chaos Giant (Chaos Giant's ATK: 1300).
Yuzu's eyes begin to glow and her hair stands on end "Do you understand? These feeling?" Ruri asks Yuzu. "Yeah, I understand" Yuzu replies. "I understand" She calms down. "But…" Yuzu says. "A Duel like this, filled with nothing but anger and hatred…" She describes, clenches her fist, and looks sadly at the screen as she stands alone.
"This time!" Dennis yells, but as he goes for an Action Card, Chaos Giant falters and falls to one knee, shattering the stone and dislodging Dennis. Dennis reaches desperately for the card, but he can't reach it "Dennis failed to grab an Action Card again!" Melissa narrates. Kurosaki turns away from Dennis, and he dodges the scattered debris on his D-Wheel. Dennis emerges from the wrecked track "Damn it!" He curses. "Even the Action Cards have forsaken me now that I've given up my entertainer role?!" Dennis wonders. He runs over the bumpy track and groans. "No matter how long they burn, the flames of my carded comrades' anger will never die!" Kurosaki declares. "That's enough! Stop!" Yuzu yells at Kurosaki. "The fifth!" Kurosaki orders. Satellite Cannon Falcon absorbs the specter of Revolution Falcon and fires again, reducing the ATK of Chaos Giant to 500 (Chaos Giant's ATK: 500).
Powersliding "Battle! Soar, Satellite Cannon Falcon!" Kurosaki declares. "Attack Chaos Giant!" He tells it. Satellite Cannon Falcon blasts off into the sky "Satellite Cannon Falcon steadily ascends!" Melissa declares. "It climbs, on and on to greater heights!" She exclaims. "Through the clouds and the stratosphere!" Melissa states. Satellite Cannon Falcon maintains an orbit above the Synchro Dimension's Earth, facing the rising sun. It opens its wing flaps once again and orange energy emerges from the fins, forming the Raidraptor crest with Satellite Cannon Falcon at the center. Bringing its cannons to bear, Satellite Cannon Falcon glows green and charges up an energy blast as purple lightening sparks across it. "Bear the feelings of the hunted, and shatter!" Kurosaki tells Dennis. "Eternal Avenge!" He declares. Satellite Cannon Falconfires a green energy blast from its core, adding its cannon fire to the blast. The blast spears from the heavens, obliterating "Chaos Ancient Gear Giant" and destroying it. Dennis screams as he's thrown from his D-Wheel (Dennis's LP: 0). The crowd cheers the violent blow "K…Kurosaki… You win" Dennis weakly admits and passes out. Kurosaki comes to a stop on the opposite side of the track. "It…It's…" Melissa shocked. "It's settled!" She declares. "The final match of the Friendship Cup's first round!" Melissa affirms. "The winner is Shun Kurosaki!" Melissa announces. The Action Field disperses, and Sora rolls his lollipop in his fingers before turning and leaving. Jack also gets up and leaves his throne, while Crow, Shinji and Rin watch grimly. Melissa realizes that Kurosaki's fury has wrecked the track "This is such a wreak…" She discerns. "What are we gonna do now?! Geez!" Melissa angrily asks.
Kurosaki tosses his helmet aside "No matter how many of you come from Academia, I'll annihilate all of you by myself!" Kurosaki declares and straps on his Duel Disk. He attempts to activate the Human Sealing Technology of his Duel Disk, but no matter which buttons he presses the option does not appear. "Damn it! Why can't I turn him into a card?!" Kurosaki angrily asks. "It's his doing?" He realizes its Reiji's doing. "That jerk…he messed with my Duel Disk!" Kurosaki figure out. In his office "Please secure Dennis MacField immediately" Roger orders. Kurosaki grabs Dennis by the collar and prepares to punch Dennis, but the stadium staff grab Kurosaki "Damnit! Let go!" Kurosaki yells at them as they drag the angry Xyzian away. "Dennis joined the Lancers to keep an eye on me…" Yuri observes. "Academia didn't just captured Yuto, but Yugo too" Yuya notes. "They're also after Yuri and me. What's their reason…?" He wonders.
Reiji turn to leave the Council Chamber "Where are you going?" Gael asks. I'm going to meet Dennis" Reiji replies. "I want to confirm a few things with him" He states as he and Reira turns to leaves. But the Executive Council's personal security block them "What is the meaning of this?" Reiji dangerously asks. "We do not want to make a fuss over this issue" Gael explains. "We'd prefer not to fight anyone or have anyone interfere" Grey clarifies. "For as much as it is possible, we want to maintain order in the City as it is" Azul states. "That is what we desire..." Bordeaux agrees. "Correct, Chairmen?" He asks White Taki. "Quite so" White Taki politely agrees. "We would like for you to leave our world out of something troublesome like an interdimensional war" He states. "Do you understand that?" White Taki asks Reiji.
Dennis was wheeled away on a stretcher "Ruri.." Yuzu whispers. "You harboured all that anger and hatered…" She notes. "And told me…" Yuzu remembers. "To make people smile through Dueling…" She states. "I'll inherit your feelings!" Yuzu declares. "I'll definitely end this interdimensional war with my Dueling!" She vows.
