King's Gambit
"Auntie, Futoshi, Ayu, Tastsuya and Dad" Yuzu remembers the day she left the Standard Dimension. "That day, I embarked on this journey, promising to save Yuya and end the interdimensional war…" She recalls. Now, as she looks at Smile World in her hand, he is in the City "Now, I'm participated in a Duel tournament in the Synchro Dimension" Yuzu states. "No matter how much I speak, I know that there's no way my voice will reach you" She comments. "But someday I want everyone to know" Yuzu determined. "What we've been through since then" She states and begins to recall the events that happened.
(Yuzu's flashback)
"We came to the Synchro Dimension to oppose Academia" Yuzu recalls the time she and the others left for the Synchro Dimension. "But Sawatari, Yuri, Reira and I were separated from the rest of our comrades when we arrived here" She states as she remembers when she arrived in the Synchro Dimension. "Security, the city's police force, wasted no time in chasing us down" Yuzu states as she recalls her first encounter with Security.
(Roger's flashback)
"At first, I thought those unbridled youngsters were up to no good again" Roger comments as he was playing chess remembers seeing his forces pursue Rin and Yuya. "While pursuing them, I noticed the presence of two young boys with the same face" He notes the similarity between Yuya and Yuri.
(Yuzu's flashback)
"We were cornered" Yuzu recalls Security surrounding them. "Crow Hogen and his crew came to save us from our crisis" She remembers the first time she meets Crow. "Crow told us that two classes of people live in the City" Yuzu states. "The winners are called Tops; the losers, Commons" She clarifies. "The Tops monopolize the City's wealth and authority, and if the Commons resist them just a bit…" Yuzu states. Shinji speeds up on his D-Wheel "Security is coming, run for it!" He yells. "You're surrounded!" Shinji tells them. A Security card came and blocked the road. Security offices fire an energy, and Yuzu and Crow was caught. Sawatari tries to flee, but all but Reira got captured.
(Roger's flashback)
"We arrested Duelists who came from another world" Roger recalls the arrested of Yuzu's group. "I separated the young boy who uses the Fusion Summon from his friends, planning to interrogate him myself" He recalls as he separated YurI from rest of those that Security arrested. "I had to know where he came from, and why he showed up in the City" Roger states. "Of course, the other boy in the Academia uniform would be in my hand soon as well…" He adds.
(Yuzu's flashback)
"When I learned that Security was targeting Yuya…" Yuzu recalls. ""You were putting up those weird fliers with that boy, right!?" Damon comments. "Those ones about the invaders from another dimension or whatever!" Damon states mistaking Yuzu being the person that placed posters on walls. "Yuya is…Doing something like that…?" Yuzu surprised. "To save Yuya, we joined the prison break Crow's friends planned and escaped from the detention facility" Yuzu recalls the break out. Yuzu the last on to jump into the water. "Wait for me, Yuya…I'm coming for you now!" Yuzu decides.
(Roger's flashback)
Just then, Security officers shine bright lights onto the bay. "I arrived to disorder at the detention facility" Roger recalls intercepting the jailbreakers as they swam away from the Facility. "We successfully arrested everyone. However…" He states as he remembers Yuzu being cuffed and then a helicopter hovers down from above, and the Executive Council appear before Roger as holographic projections.
(Executive Council's flashback)
"Reiji Akaba led eight of his comrades from the Standard Dimension to our dimension" Grey states. "Fusion's Academia plans to take possession of the four dimensions: Fusion, Synchro, Xyz and Standard" Azul explains. "His aim is to oppose them" She states. "He wants to form an alliance with us, as Academia has not yet invaded our dimension" Bordeaux states. "But we have also noticed Academia's existence" White Take states. "Ten years ago, Enjoy Chojiro was arrested for cheating" Gael explains. "Even since, there has been disorder in the City and heightened tension between the Tops and the Commons" He states. "I order to improve the situation, the Executive Council implanted two measures" Grey states. "The first one was hoisting the Friendship Cup in order to untie the Tops and Commons" Azul states. "The other was strengthening the Security Bureau, the organization that maintain the Tops' societal advantage" Bordeaux states. "For that, a powerful weapon that did not exist in our world yet was used—Solid Vision with mass" White Taki explains. "What they call the Real Solid Vision System" He states. "The one who brought that here was Jean-Michel Roger" White Take pointed out. "Thanks to his contribution, he instantly rose to power as Chief of the Security Bureau" He states. "Of course, we knew he came from another world" Gael states. "Even if he aimed to invade…" Grey said. "As it is, we have Roger placated, and use him to maintain order in our society" Azul states. "However, Reiji Akaba appeared to warn us about the interdimensional war" Bordeaux states. "If his movements alerted Academia…" Gael said. "They might invade early and cause even more trouble" Grey states. "And so we cannot ignore Reiji Akaba's words" Azul states. "As long as the intruder Roger is around, the threat of Academia looms over us" Bordeaux states. "We weighed them against each other" White Taki states. "In other words…" He said. "If Reiji Akaba's Lancers have the strength to protect us, we will take them in" Gael states. "Otherwise, we would win Roger over and use him to reach out to Academia" He said.
(Roger's flashback)
"I had a reason for nominating Yuzu Hiragi to Duel against the King on the tournament eve" Roger mentions. "I wanted to see how he handled Yuzu Hiragi, who uses unknown summon method called the Pendulum" He states, as white king represents Jack, while the black pawn represents Yuzu. "An enemy who must be defeated sooner or later—the King, Jack Atlas" Roger admits as he stares at the white king.
(Yuzu's flashback)
"He won the Friendship Cup as a Commons" Yuzu narrated as she remembers her first meeting with Jack. "He has reigned from throne for three years since then—the absolute ruler, Jack Atlas" She states. "I had to Duel the City's biggest superstar" Yuzu recalls the exhibition match. "When he provoked me and said he'd defeat me in three turns, I was completely lived" She states. "I'll show you my Entertainment!" Yuzu thinks. "This is the end! Go Musia the Melodious Pendulum Mystic! Attack Jack Atlas directly!" Yuzu declare, the attack hits home, surrounding the Duelists in smoke. Jack drives out of the smoke. "You spoke of Entertainment Dueling as well, didn't you?" Jack tells Yuzu. He drops back beside Yuzu "But your Dueling is too conceited! It's far from being called Entertainment!" Jack tells her. Yuzu grits her in frustration. "Synchro Summon! Rampaging Soul! Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!" Jack chants. "And now I attack directly with Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend! Infernal Crimson Hell Burning!" Jack declares. The attack hits the ground in front of Yuzu's D-Wheel. "I lost" Yuzu laments. "My confidences and pride were shattered" She mourns. "Then Tokumatsu showed up out of nowhere and filled me in what in on something unbelievable" Yuzu remembers Tokumatsu showing up in her room. "Losers in the Friendship Cup are sent to an underground force labour facility as a warning to others" She states. "I finally knew that Yuya was safe and sound, but he, Tokumastu, and the rest of my comrades…" Yuzu worried when she remembers the Duel between Yuya and Tokumatsu. Tokumatsu's D-Wheel blows out (Tokumatsu's LP: 0). "I didn't want anyone to suffer" Yuzu states as Yuya holds up his left hand and smiles and Tokumatsu turns to face the camera, making a V-gesture with his fingers. "This tournament is definitely wrong" Yuzu states as she sheds tears as she reciprocated both of their feelings. "But even if I spoke up, no in the City would hear me out" She points out as she remembers her Duel with Duel Chaser 227. "When someone wins, they gain everything; when they lose, they lose everything" Yuzu explains. "No one in Tops or Commons questions this kind of competitive society" She states. "And when they agitated me, I also…" Yuzu recalls the final attack on Duel Chaser 227. The audience cheers "No. This isn't it" Yuzu laments. "The Duel I believe in isn't-!" She refuses as she holds her head.
"Tsukikage, who had taken Reira's place in the tournament and should have been underground, showed up" Yuzu states as she recalls the surprised meeting with Tsukikage. "He told me that Gongenzaka, Sawatari and Tokumatsu, and everyone else were safe" She said. "Then he delivered a message from Reira, as well as Jack's words" Yuzu said. "We came here to save the world" Reira states, and Tsukikage stands up. "But no one in the dimension believes that" Reira points out. "They don't recognize the Lancers' strength" He states. "But if you are trying to accomplish something…Do not falter!" Jack tells Reiji. Yuzu gasps in shock when she hears that. Then it showed Yuya reading the letter from Yuzu. "Yuya, I finally got it" Yuzu's letter starts. "No matter how much I yell, there's no way my voice will reach anyone" It's states. "I also understand why Jack called my Dueling conceited" The letter points out. "That's because I haven't accomplished anything" It states. "To win people over and make them smile, I have to make them accept me" The letter points out. "To do that, I have to defeat Jack" It states as it show Jack sitting on this throne. "I'll win with my Dueling! Yuzu vows. "And I'll bring smiles back to the faces of everyone in the City!" She swears.
"As I made that promise, a war-like showdown between Kurosaki and Dennis unfolded before my eyes" Yuzu narrates as she remembers the last match. "Dennis revealed a shocking truth—that he was from Academia, and played a part in Yuto's captured" She states.
(All flashbacks end)
"We do not want to make a fuss over this issue" Gael explains."We'd prefer not to fight anyone or have anyone interfere" Grey clarifies. "For as much as it is possible, we want to maintain order in the City as it is" Azul states. "That is what we desire..." Bordeaux agrees. "Correct, Chairmen?" He asks White Taki. "Quite so" White Taki politely agrees. "We would like for you to leave our world out of something troublesome like an interdimensional war" He states. "Do you understand that?" White Taki asks Reiji. "I see. However, confining me is not related to Dennis reporting to Academia" Reiji counters. "We are aware. We are just preparing for the worst" White Taki tells Reiji. "Academia is not just one person after all" He states. "Before the two of them convene to scheme, we will secure Dennis" He explains. "Of course, we will not hand him over" White Taki states. As the two paramedics wheeled Dennis away on a stretcher "Please wait" A voice tells them. Three white-suited workers for the Executive Council intercept them. "Dennis will be put in the custody of the intercept" One of the white-suited workers stares as he shows them the documents. "Hand him over at once" He asks the paramedics. "—That will not happen!" A voice declares. Three Security officers then run in from the other direction "Dennis is in our custody!" One of the offices says. "This is a direct order from Chief Roger of the Security Bureau" He states. The paramedics flee, leaving the two groups of three to clash over Dennis. "The Council has decided to take away his right to command" The first white-suited worker informs the Security officers. "Which means that the orders you received is nullified" He states. I the shadows a familiar Duel Disk is showed. At that point, a whirlwind blows where Dennis was, causing the two groups of three to shield their eyes. When both groups can look again, they notice that Dennis disappeared. "Dennis disappeared!" The first white-suited worker exclaims. "What's going on?!" The first Security officer wonders. Roger was watching all this "I will not hand Dennis over to the Council!" He proclaims. "Find him immediately and capture him!" Roger orders. "Take away my right to command?" He annoyed. "If you old geezers are going to adopt that attitude, then we have to take drastic measures as well" Roger utters to himself. He places a white pawn on a position where it would capture a black pawn on the chessboard, then the chessboard glows green and the holomap becomes a chessboard. "Notify all of Security. Begin the operation" Roger orders as two white and one black pawn appeared on the board. Then the words OPERATION MODE: COMPULSION appeared on the screen. "King's Gambit!" Roger declares.
As part of the operation, Security officers become manipulated by a red symbol appearing on their foreheads. One such officer causes Dobocle to flee down a Commons alleyway and the Security officer activities his Duel Disk. The manipulated Security officers then all drive to the Executive Council building at once, and infiltrate it. They confront the Executive Council, Reiji and Reira, having summoned their various Goyo monsters. "Security" Gael shocks. "What are you up to?" Grey shock. "What kind of attitude is this?" Azul shock. "What kind of attitude? I could ask the same of you" Roger questions as he appears before them as a hologram. "Roger!" Bordeaux exclaims. "Taking away my right to command as the Chief of the Security Bureau…" Roger comments. "Do you think you can maintain peace in the City like that?" He asks the Executive Council. "The situation has changed. If you join forces with Dennis, we do not know what will happen" White Taki explains. Roger smirks "You think I'll summon Academia?" He questions. "That would certainly be an interesting turn of events, but it would be useless to me" Roger states. Reira was holding on Reiji's arm shaking, when he remembers Jack's words.
(Flashback)
"Do not falter!" Jack yells.

Reira closes his eyes and the lets go of Reiji's arm and looks at the hologram of Roger. "If I summon Academia, this city would be devastated by its Duelist…My carful preparations would been all for naught" Roger states. "Preparations?" Bordeaux asks. "For what?" Azul questions. "It's obvious, isn't it?" Roger comments. "To control this city" He tells them. "The City?!" Gael exclaims. "Control it?!" Grey exclaims. "No, you could say the City is already under my control" Roger corrects himself. "It's practically ruled by the person who commands the Security Bureau—me!" He proclaims. "Certainly not by the Executive Council!" Roger states. The Executive Council were speechless. "If the City is truly a competitive society, then it's only right that those with power also stand on top both in mane and reality" Roger tells White Taki, as he edging closer to him. "Am I wrong?" He asks White Taki. "Strengthening Security with Real Solid Vision was part of your preparations as well?" White Taki asks Roger. "Yes. All that's left is to oust the symbol of the City—the King" Roger says. "I have a piece set in place for that, too" He states as he knocks a black king with a white king. "Dennis's appearance and your mobilization will move that piece forward" Roger explains. "The Friendship Cup will continue as planned, so do not worry" He informs the Executive Council. "Before it all ends, you should just remain silent over there" Roger tells them. Roger smirks.
"—Control then City" Reiji speaks up. "In other words, you plan to rebel against Academia and establish Synchro Dimension as your kingdom?" He deduces. "My kingdom…how beautifully that resonates" Roger likes what Reiji said. "Yes. I do not plan on submitting to anyone any longer" He confirms. "Not even to the Professor, Leo Akaba!" Roger declares. "Reiji Akaba" He said. "When you showed up, I noticed" Roger tells Reiji. "You are Leo Akaba's son" He aware. "However, your father is your enemy" Roger states. "How does this sound? Since we share a common enemy, shall we join forces?" He offers. "The two of us ruling over the City?" Reiji smiles at Roger's proposal. Reira gasps in shock while Roger smirks. "Ridiculous" Reiji dismissed it, surprising Roger. "Allying with someone who's satisfied with controlling a mere city reaps me no benefits" Reiji says. "What did you say…"Roger shocked. "Let's see how long you can brag like that…" He composes himself. "I'm looking forward to it" Roger tells Reiji and his hologram disappear from the Executive Council. Roger knocks over his chess pieces in anger "The Council has been sealed…" Roger assets. "Even if their men find Dennis…" He states. He puts this hand over the black king piece in his hand "They can't do anything!" Roger proclaims. "What I should be most worried about now…" He thought as he grasps the piece. "Is Dennis crossing dimensions to inform Leo Akaba that Yuri and Yuya Sakaki are in the City" Roger thinks. "If that happens, he will definitely send men to secure the two" He suspects. "Yes, that woman called Selena!" Roger figures. "If that happens, my plans to turn the Synchro Dimension into my own kingdom will be exposed…" He believes. "Securing Dennis is key to determining the success of my plan!" Roger vows. He crushes the black king piece in his hand.
Some time later that night, Dennis wakes up in an alleyway "Where am I?" Dennis wonders. "You're finally awake" A voice said. "Who are you?" Dennis notices the boy that saved him. As the clouds roll past the moonlight, that boy is revealed to be Sora. "Sora Shiunin. A Duelist from Academia" Sora introduce himself. As Security officers continue to look around "Right, I remember. You're from Academia, too" Dennis remembers. "I'm surprised that you're the same" Sora said. "And you played a part in the Yuto situation…" He states. "Calling it a "situation"…" Dennis says. "I just carried my mission" He states. "All that's left is handing Yuya and Yuri over to Selena—" Dennis says but he struggles to get up. "I'll take over" Sora offers. "You should go back to Academia right away" He asks Dennis. "Wait…what are you saying?" Dennis asks. "Professor personally told me to bring Yuri back" Sora says. "This is my job" He tells Dennis. Dennis gave a small gasps. "I know that you came all this way with Yuzu and the others to keep an eye on Yuri" Sora states. "But you can't do anything in your condition" He points out. "If I didn't help you, you would've been capture" Sora explains as he looks down the alleyway and a Security officers walks by. "So go back now" He tells Dennis. Dennis looks at Sora in wondered. "When you're back at Academia, I want you to tell Professor this" Sora asks Dennis as he activates the interdimensional transporter on his Duel Disk. "I will definitely carry out the mission he gave me" He tells Dennis. Dennis looks at Sora and then closed his eyes. With that, Dennis was returned to the Fusion Dimension.
"Dennis has returned and reports that both Yuri and Yuya Sakaki are confirmed to be in the Synchro Dimension's City, As soon as Obelisk Force is done with preparations, I want them to head over there" Leo, who was sitting on his throne, orders Barrett. "Right!" Barrett replies. "Thank you for giving me the chance to redeem myself" He grateful. "Selena will be there at any time too, right?" Leo mentions. "Work with her…" He tells Barrett. "No" Barrett refuses. "Before that, I will definitely capture Yuri and Yuya and bring them back" He vows. "I'm counting on you, Barrett" Leo tells Barrett. Dawn breaks "Morning dawns on the third day of the Friendship Cup" Yuzu observes. "The four matches of the second round take place today" She knows. "I don't know who I'll be Dueling yet, but…" Yuzu said as she looks at the Smile World card again. "There's been too many Duels filled with hatred, just like the one between Kurosaki and Dennis" She notes. "I'll bring back everyone's smiles with the Entertainment Duel I inherited from Uncle" Yuzu vows. "And…" Yuzu said as the scene then change to Yuya, who remembers the letter he got from Yuzu. "Defeat Academia, end the interdimensional war," both Yuzu and Yuya said. "and go home together, to where everyone is waiting" Yuya said "Mum, Principal, Futoshi, Ayu, Tatsuya" He said. "I'll definitely come home safe and sound" Yuya vows. "With Yuzu" He states. Meanwhile "Yuya Sakaki is your opponent in the second round" Roger tells Sergey. "He and Yuri may be trump cards in building my kingdom" He states. "Defeat him and bring him to me" Roger instructs Sergey. "Got it?" He asks Sergey. Sergey gave a big creepy smile.
