Chapter 5 – White Wedding Pt 1
"I'm awfully sorry your visit wasn't…. better," Aro said as Alice, Demetri, Jasper, Char, Peter and I headed towards our plane to go back to Forks. It was Bella's wedding in a few days. She'd kill me if I didn't show up.
"It was in no way our fault Aro, nor Marcus, but please be careful. If the group is hunting nearby…." I was worried. So worried about them.
"Hey, what about me?" Caius asked shocked.
"Well, you two did beat each other up not long after her arrival," commented Felix. Caius growled but stopped when I hugged him.
"It wasn't your fault either brother. I couldn't help it," I giggled. He rested his hand on my head.
"Little sister. Please send word of your arrival. Come back soon, yes?" he asked.
"Of course, this is my home." I said hugging them.
"Give our regards to the Cullens, and here," Aro said handing me a rather big bag. "These are gifts for them, the rather large one is for Ms. Bella."
"Ok, I will." I handed it to Jasper as we made our way up the stairs into the plane. I waved to them from one of the windows and then went to sit in a chair that was not next to a window.
"Fearless huntress, scared of heights." Peter nagged.
"Shut up," I mumbled getting a magazine.
After takeoff, I relaxed some. Jasper got me a glass of wine which I appreciated. "Alice, stupid question, but we're going to get there the day before, how is everything going to get done?"
"I've coordinated with Esme and Rose. They said everything is done, I just need to go over last-minute things and make sure the dresses are done." She said the last with an eyebrow raised.
"Yeah yeah. I told you already, just this one time. I am immediately changing as soon as she says, 'I do'."
She smiled and nodded her head, satisfied. 'Stupid vampires'.
I slept most of the flight. I don't know why I feel calm. Maybe it's because of the group of vampires I'm with. Never thought I'd think that in my life, 'safe with a group of vampires'. Speaking of, Crowley has not contacted me since the incident. I have a bad feeling about all of it, but putting it aside, I'll work on it after the wedding. A wedding between a vampire and a human. I can't believe I'm condoning it. I should be killing them, not letting them have a wedding. When did my priorities change? 'Because of him'. I know that thought was not mine, I smirked.
"Sugar, it's time, we're landing," I hear a voice and open my eyes. I see Jasper smiling at me with those beautiful curls hanging around his face.
I smile, "I'm up."
We land and get out of the plane. Emmett pulled up in the Jeep and Rose in Carlisle's car.
"I'm surprised you're not in your car Rose, you love that thing," I say as I walk towards her. She smiled.
"I'm fixing it up, it's in the garage." She says as she pops the trunk. We put our stuff in and separate. She goes with Emmett, Alice, and Demetri in the Jeep while Jasper opens the door for me, and I get in Carlisle's car, and he takes the wheel while Peter and Char get in the back.
"So, ready for nice fancy wedding? Courtesy of the short pixie?" asked Peter.
"I should not be condoning this. This goes against everything I stand for," I mumbled.
"Do you have any bad feelings though? Regarding the wedding itself or the bride and groom?" asked Char.
I sat there and thought hard. Jasper keeping a sharp eye on the road, as well as me. I sent my feelings out toward Bella, and of course nothing bad. Even my feelings of Edward are not bad, I just don't like him. I heard Jasper snort at my little feeling of dislike. He knows how I feel about the know-it-all prepubescent vamp. The wedding, although I don't feel anything regarding it itself, the after affects are different.
"Nothing on the event or couple but I don't trust the aftermath of something that is not natural."
"Some foreboding? Little huntress?" Peter smirked.
"Possibly…." I sighed.
I felt a hand on mine. "Just focus on the wedding. We'll deal with whatever comes our way afterwards." Jasper held my hand tighter. I felt comfort. I nodded to him, and we continued the rest of the drive in silence.
It wasn't long until we pulled up to the house. It was early evening. I saw the twinkle of the fairy lights surrounding the residence.
"Really Alice," I sighed.
"Like we could reign her in," came Esme voice as she came down the steps. She was followed by Carlisle.
"I wouldn't bet on it," I smiled as Jasper helped me out of the car.
"How was your trip back?" asked Carlisle as he nodded from next to Esme. He learned not to hug me. Smart man.
"Good. I was more relaxed than I was going there. Which reminds me let me call Caius." I nodded to the couple to excuse me as I walked away to make my call. I put up my shield for privacy.
"So, what are the plans? Do you need anything from us?" asked Jasper.
"Everything is all good," came Alice's voice. "I double checked everything. All is in order. I just need you four," she was pointing to Jasper, Peter, Char and myself, "to try on your outfits."
"Yeah Caius I will. Just call me if anything happens. I'm no longer there so you shouldn't have to deal with anything." I said.
"Same, please call us. Take care sister. Keep Demetri in check yes?"
I laughed, "I will brother." I hung up the phone and walked back over to the group. Where's my outfit. The sooner I try it on, the sooner I can take it off." Everyone snickered.
"Yours and Charlette's are in my room and the boys in Edwards room." She replied.
After trying on my dress, Alice making some alterations since I gained some weight. I went back downstairs and waited on Jasper.
"The dress looks much better on you now, thank goodness for Italy's pasta, right?" Char nudged me.
"Yeah, guess so. What now?" I asked as Jasper and the boys came back down.
"Well Bella called me while you were trying your dress on," Rose said as she came from the kitchen, "she wondered if you wouldn't mind spending the night with her.
I was shocked. "Me? Why?"
"I bet she's nervous. And you're the outside party to this whole thing. Probably feels more comfortable with you is my guess pigeon," Peter said.
"Uh, ok sure, I guess. Jasper care to take me?" I looked over to him.
"Of course. Apparently, Edward wants all of us to go with him to hunt tonight. So, it's best you stay with someone. Works out I guess." Jasper said as we head back out to the car.
"But you and Peter," I began getting in the car. Jasper was in the driver's seat in the next second.
"We'll go with them and watch them hunt, Pete and I will go separately when they're done and be back afterward. I'll text you."
I nodded.
"Thanks for coming," Bella said as she let me in. We waved Jasper off and went inside.
"No problem." I looked around, "where's your dad?"
"Night shift. Another reason I asked for you. He wanted someone with me."
"Isn't he going to be tired for the wedding?" I asked as we went upstairs to her room. I dropped my stuff on the side of the bed and sat down on her chair.
"It's not until the evening, he said he'll nap and then go over." She sighed and sat on her bed. She looked nervous.
"Tell me what's bugging you." I said.
"Well," she fidgeted.
"Bella, out with it. I'm not gonna bite," I smirked, and she laughed.
"I half expected you not to come at all, considering the whole marrying a vampire thing."
I got up and paced her room. "Bella, honestly, I've thought about this whole ordeal too. Feelings aside, it's your life. You know what you're getting into. You're not stupid and it's not against your will. Also," I paused.
"Also…..", she urged me on.
"Also, who the hell am I to tell you not to do something that one day, it seems I'm destined to do myself," I sighed and sat back down. A little heavier than I meant to.
"And just like you're here for me, I'll be there for you." She smiled. We let the silence of what was said weigh just a bit, then we tossed it aside and had ourselves a sleepover. It wasn't a bad night, not a bad night at all. Jasper did text before we went to sleep.
"You look beautiful, quit fidgeting," Alice told Bella as she did her hair.
"Easy for you to say, you don't have to try and be beautiful, it's natural for you," grumbled Bella as she continued to pick at her fingers.
I tried not to laugh. "Bella," I walked over to her and sat down, "you are beautiful. You've never seen what everyone else sees. Especially Edward. You may think you are an insignificant human. But you are so much more to him. Just like anyone who falls in love with someone else. You believe he has a soul still, right?" She nodded. "Well, you must believe your souls are bound to each other. For some reason, you were born to be his other half. He may have not had the best choices in his human years. But there's a reason Carlisle "saved" him that day. There is a reason he didn't turn into a complete monster. There's a reason why he repeated high school. As horrible as that is," I side glanced Alice and she smirked. "You are the reason. He's found you. This day proves that. So never EVER doubt yourself Bella. All your awkwardness aside, you've tamed a beast, he's found his beauty." She teared up at the last part and I hugged her. "Ok," I said brushing off my dress and standing up, "enough of the sentimental shit, let's finish up, I want this dress off as soon as possible. This dress does NOT bode well for a vampire huntress."
Everyone laughed and finished up. Rose came in to help. Charlie and Renee offered Bella gifts. Alice side glanced to the window, "it's time." She said. Renee walked out with Charlie, and I walked down the stairs with Rose and Alice helped Bella down.
"How is it that you walk in heels better than Bella?" Rose asked.
"I did have to learn how to be prey Rose," I smirked.
"Not fair," Bella whispered as she moved slow in her heels. We all snickered.
The music started. I gave Bella her bouquet and squeezed her hand and she nodded. Alice was out first, followed by Rose, then me. 'She owes me for being a bridesmaid.' I walked down the aisle and I just held onto Jasper's stare. I noticed he tried to fight off the urge of his eyes turning black with lust. As I neared him and went to turn, I winked and heard him growl. It was so low no one heard it but me and the other vampires in the vicinity, I'm sure. I smiled.
I turned and awaited the bride. Edward turned his head to look at me and I nodded. He had the slightest smile and turned his head back to face the aisle. Even the know-it-all needed reassurance. Funny. Everyone stood up and Bella and her dad were at the beginning of the aisle. As they were walking down, it seemed Bella's nerves stopped as soon as she saw Edward smiling at her. I looked between them and in that instant, I was glad I didn't kill him. This wedding seemed so right, even though it should be so wrong. "Well, who wants to be right ALL the time anyway. It's annoying.' I watched as her dad handed her over to Edward. I felt bad for him. Anyone with half a brain could see the love he had for his daughter. Made me miss my dad. I had a moment of hurt and let it go. 'Bella's day, Bella's day.'
I stood and watched with everyone else as Bella and Edward said their vows. I glanced at Jasper, and he was staring at me. His stare was so intense I forgot myself for a moment. I shook my head and paid attention to the event going on. I still felt his stare throughout.
"I do." Edward said.
"I do." Bella said.
"You may kiss the bride," said the priest.
Edward and Bella leaned into each other, hesitated and kissed. Everyone clapped and whistled.
They broke apart and turned to face everyone.
"I give you Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cullen," said the priest and the clapping and whistling got louder.
Bella and Edward both looked so happy. They walked down the aisle towards the house, and we followed.
"Mighty fine ceremony eh sugar?" Jasper whispered to me.
"It was," I whispered back.
"Now I have to plan December's and Jaspers," I heard Alice's voice even though she talked in vampire speed.
I slumped as we kept walking. "I need to get out of this dress."
Jasper snickered.
There you have it. Sorry for the long delay. Hope everyone is staying safe during the summer. I'll be back with Pt 2 soon. Until then.
