Chapter 6 – White Wedding Pt 2

"You really weren't kidding, were you?" Bella smiled as we approached to hug her and give her a congratulations.

"I really hate dresses," I whispered as I hugged her. She looked beautiful in her dress and Edward standing next to her. "You really do look beautiful Bella."

She smiled and looked down. "Thanks. By the way we changed the seating. You, Jasper, Peter, and Charlette will be sitting with us. Alice added more chairs for you."

"That's…. that's at the front table. Are you sure? I don't want to inconvenience anyone." I said shocked.

"Hells bells sugar, I'll take it, come on Char," Peter exclaimed as they both went to the table. Jasper and I just shook our heads.

"Thanks Bella," Jasper said as he guided me to the table.

As everyone took their seat to enjoy dinner, drinks for the vamps, it got quiet. No one was being loud. It was nice. Everyone's conversation staying at their table. That is, until it was time for the speeches. I had a bad feeling. Edwards siblings went first, Jasper just looked at me and gave a "hell no" look and I smirked. Then it was Bella's mom's turn. She sang. Horribly. Give the woman credit for trying though.

Then it was Charlie's. He went up. You could tell he hates speeches too. But this is his only daughter's wedding. I'll be damned if he didn't have something to say.

"Well, you all know me, well most of you anyway. I'm Bella's father, Charlie Swan. What can I say? To lose your only daughter to a young man that I didn't like at first. Not that he was a bad kid, just didn't want her with anyone ya know?"

People laughed.

"I do hope for the best for you all. You're young. I know young love. Seeing you with him makes you happy. You smile a lot more than you used to Bells. That makes me happy. I don't know what the future holds for you two, but I do know this. Because I know things. Because I'm a cop. And cops know things. Edward, I do know that if you ever hurt her, I will hunt you down to the ends of the earth and there will be no peace. I love you Bells."

"Cheers!" Everyone said.

Edward got up and shook Charlie's hand and mumbled something to him to which Charlie nodded and went to sit down. It was then Edward made his speech to Bella.

It was a nice speech, 'forever will not be long enough', 'oh yeah I don't doubt that'.

"I do know, there is someone we wish to thank. If not for this someone, this wouldn't be possible. She gave assurance when there was doubt. She gave a pillar to stand on, when nothing else seemed right."

Oh no.

"This someone is our iron board that makes me and Bella strong. Even though she may not realize it."

'Oh no,' I kept thinking. He better not mean me.

"December, could you come up…. please." He said, slightly smiling, a hoping smile.

'" I'm going to kill him,"' was the mantra I made as I stood up and made my way to the stage. He knew it too. Just by the slightly less unnerving smile on my face. He gave me the microphone with a slight pleading look on his face that vanished as soon as it came and went to sit next to Bella. She knew it too. How could I let them down, stupid human, stupid vampire. I looked at Jasper and he gave Edward a death glare too, I was proud. So, here I go….

"Well, ahem. Thanks for putting me on the spot Edward." I started.

Everyone chuckled.

"I uh, well, I'm horrible at making speeches. Not really one to talk much, unless I have an opinion to share. Right, Jessica?" I ask as I look to her and she smirked and said "true". There were more chuckles. "As far as your iron board, you don't iron clothes on me Edward," I tsked and everyone laughed, and he made the intentional "hiding his face of embarrassment" face. "Now seriously, I had my doubts about these two. Anyone in the family could tell you that. Some of our friends from school as well. I didn't take them seriously. But how could I be the judge of that when I for one, didn't know who they were and two, I didn't know their story. All I knew was the school acclimated cool haired hottie was dating the new and awkward new kid who happened to be the police chief's daughter. But, as I got to know her, and the Cullen's, I found out something interesting about myself. Their story ended up being the beginning of mine. As soon as I realized I was in love with Jasper, Edward's brother, I understood where Bella was coming from. Total opposites attract, and all that." I gestured the "all that" with a wave of my hand. "True love knows no age, no bounds, no logic. It's recognizing the missing half of yourself in someone else. Love, is love. It came be simple, or complicated, haha, very complicated," I chuckled to myself and looked at Jasper who winked back. I girded my loins, damn vampire. He knew it too with that smirk. "Well, bottom line, treat each other right, no regrets, just live," I looked at Bella on the last word. "If you mess it up, with Bella, Edward, Charlie will have to get behind me to skin you alive," I said as everyone laughed, but he knew I was serious, I could see a gulp even though he smiled. I got a glass of sparkling juice, I was not drinking tonight, "to the bride and groom, may your love story flourish in this life, and the next." Everyone repeated what I said and toasted their glasses. Bella came up and hugged me and whispered, "thank you,".

"I will kill him," I whispered back, and she giggled. After my speech everyone finished their meal and started dancing on the dance floor after Edward and Bella's first dance.

"Hell of a speech darlin'," Jasper hugged me.

"Hell of a way to put me on the spot too, damn vampire," I said as Jasper twirled me on the floor.

"You did great sugar, just breathe," he says as he dips me.

I let out a big sigh and it helped. I put my head on his shoulder as we danced but I looked over to Bella and she was waving me over. "I think Bella wants us," I say.

Jasper looked where I was looking and there were more people standing with her. Also with gold eyes, interesting.

"The Denali's," whispered Jasper as we made our way. "Cousins."

Great, more vampires. I've been everywhere, why didn't I come by them?'

"December, these are the Denali's, our cousins from Alaska. Sisters, Kate, Irina, and Tanya. And this is Eleazar and Carmen. Everyone this is December Skye, Jasper's mate." Edward introduced.

"Charming, you got the other brother. Finally, someone other than that Pixie," mumbled Kate.

I was shocked. "Yeah, don't mock the pixie, she can be as mean as one," I say. Chuckled were heard all around.

"So is what Carlisle said true? Are you the hunter?" Eleazar asked.

I felt alarmed at first, how could Carlisle say something? But I looked at Eleazar's face. I know how to read a face.

"Carlisle didn't tell you. You read pass my shield," I said standing firm but holding Jasper's hand.

He smirked and bowed his head, "my apologies. It is an honor huntress."

"Carlisle is a friend to you, not one to me, but I would not put him under the bus so to speak like that," I bowed back.

"I also sense a bond, to the Volturi," he said.

I nodded but didn't say anything. I just looked at him in more scrutiny.

"I see to offend you." He said.

"Well you come across and pompous," I replied.

"I assure you I don't mean any offense, this is just…. Well…. Unheard of. In all my years I've never come across a hunter. I use to be part of the Volturi guard. I know them well." Eleazar said.

I considered for a moment, "I have a brother bond do Caius."

"Ah, there it is. There is strength in that," he said nodding.

"Eleazar's gift is reading other's gifts. That's why Aro put him with the guard." Carmen said.

"Now that makes sense. It's nice to meet you, all of you," I nodded in turn.

"The hunter, I don't see what's so special about her," Kate mumbled. Luckily no one was watching, I allowed my eyes to glow.

"Say that again, and I'll put you to your knees Kate Denali," I growled so low only they could hear. My eyes went back to normal.

"The hunter power in form," Eleazar replied, "incredible! And The Major's mate, nonetheless. There will be power there. And if you both are in line with the Volturi, what power." He closed his sentence in thought. We said our good-byes, but I gave Kate a bold look, and walked away.

"When will this be over, I'm tired, and cranky," I mumbled. Jasper chuckled.

"Soon darlin'." He kissed my head and I smiled.

After another hour, we found ourselves outside in the front of Carlisle's house, since that was where the ceremony took place. We were waving off Bella and Edward as they left for their honeymoon. We saw the car veer off and said our good bye's to everyone and got into Jasper's car.

"So, what now?" I ask as I put my head back on the seat.

"Well now sugar, I have a surprise for you, but it's a two-day drive for myself. You wanna see?" he smirked.

"I hate surprises," I looked at him, "but I'll give it a whirl."

He chuckled, "then off we go, Peter and Charlette will meet us," he said as he texted on his phone. I was curious, but let's see what this vampire has in store for me now.

Short I know, let's see where the lovely couply go as Bella and Edward take their honeymoon! Until then :)
