Hi Everyone! Here is the long awaited update for chapter 8, I hope you all enjoy it. I'll see everyone at the end!
Chapter 8: Rising Moon Fang Part 1
"I am pleased!"
There are very few phrases that bring such joy to the human heart when they hear it. The average human would probably delight themselves in phrases of 'You got money' or 'I love you'. For the many residents who slave away and serve on Apokolips, hearing the phrase 'I am pleased', was comforting almost like a lullaby. Hearing this phrase from Darksied was the indication that not only he was happy but it was also a reassurance that he wouldn't vaporize them into nothingness.
Sitting upon his throne like the Thinker himself, Darkseid's attention was focused on the screen that was before him which showed a diagnostic layout of his forces vs that of the Justice League. All around the tyrant were kneeled Parademons awaiting their masters commands while Dessad, Kalibak , Steppenwolf & several more of the elite stood next to the throne.
Darkseid was skeptical of Sparrows claims of a full proof plan to invade earth, but so far it was going off without a hitch. Thanks to the warp modifier he stole, he was able to send his Parademons through his boom tubes by the twenties, it wouldn't be long before Darkseid's entire army would be manifested into earth. It wouldn't take long before he would be in control of the Paragon's knowledge as well as the Anti-Life Equation itself, once that happened all of existence would bow to him. No opposition, no hassles, nobody would stop his conquest this time, he would bathe the universe in blood and be ruler for all eternity.
"Master!" Dessad's voice was low and humbled as he addressed his master. Even with him in this good mood, you had to make sure not to disturb his balance. "Shall I send in the next squadron of Parademons?"
Darkseid stroked his chin slightly before answering, his eyes never leaving the screen. Granted the enemy dots on the screen were still large in numbers, Darkseid couldn't underestimate his foes. Even weakened with Superman against his army, the kryptonian could garner the strength to destroy multiple parademons at any time. Perhaps he should send in more warriors just to be safe, or perhaps he should even change the way of his invasion strategy.
"Perhaps I could ease your thinking father?" Kalibak interjected. "Steppenwolf and I could crush the heroes while the Parademons destroy everything else!"
"No!" He stated flatly. "You're both too valuable to send in just yet, tell Granny to send in the furies!"
"Of course my lord!" General Steppenwolf followed the orders exactly and left to find Granny Goodness.
"The Justice League will crumble before me!" Darkseid bellowed in satisfaction as he continued to watch the screen, which in his mind started to resemble that of a chess board. The pawns were doing their job in keeping the opposition busy, but now it was time to see what happens when you throw a rook, a knight and a bishop into the mix.
-New Metropolis-
-Highfather's Palace-
-Courtyard-
"Come on you assholes' I'm ready for ya!" There were two things in this world that Floyd Lawton AKA Deadshot loved more than anything. The first was his cooky, clownish and talkative wife Harley, the second was being able to murder anything in his sight with freedom. In this situation the Parademons were making his every desire come true , they were soulless, obnoxious and they needed to be put down. As the pawns of Darkseid's army came at him, Deadshot rushed in like the typical freedom hero of a male dominated action flick. With his wrist mounted magnums the assassin dashed like the cheetah covering ground after ground while delivering fatal bullet shots to the Parademons head. Known as the 'man that never misses', Deadshot continued a cycle of firing and reloading his weapon while leaving a wake of dead alien carcasses in his wake.
While Deadshot played the solo in battle, the Doom Patrol members huddled together in a cornered off section of the courtyard. The Parademons had taken a strategy to try and overwhelm the group with their sheer numbers but the team themselves had their own plan. Despite Mento's drunk state he held his own with his psychic powers, knocking out Parademons mentally and telekinetically slamming them around like ragdolls. While their leader followed in suit, Robotman took to a brute punching tactic while Negativeman used his soul self to phase through Parademons and destroy them instantly.
"Sparrow!" Superman's rage was propelled to the highest form it's been since the Apokolips war. Much like how Garfield was haunted from his own memories, seeing the Parademons again served as a haunting reminder of how Clark couldn't save Lois or Kara. If you combine that with the humiliating defeat he suffered from his last battle with Sparrow , the founder of the Justice League wanted nothing more than to rip that Paragon to shreds. It didn't matter anymore that Dick was behind that Paragon armor, the only thing that mattered now was that he take him down.
The Parademons surrounded Superman with the purpose of roasting him with their flaming hot breaths, but were not prepared as he easily brushed off the attack. Without warning Superman had at the beasts before they could get in his way. With a single balled fist the man of steel started launching punches into the Parademons one by one knocking their hearts out and killing them instantly. When that method of attack started to get old, Superman opted to use his enhanced strength to grab each Paragon one by one and rip them in half.
The deceased Pardemons that were piling up had not gone unnoticed by Sparrow who up to this point had been guarding the warp modifier protectively. With Superman getting ever so close to his position, Sparrow prepared himself to strike but was cut off as Highfather charged at him with his war staff.
"Is that the best you got, old man?" Sparrow laughed as he easily avoided the strike and kicked the elder toward Superman. After killing a few more Parademons, Superman prepared himself just in time to catch the New Genesis Leader before he crashed to the ground.
"Are you alright Highfather?"
"Nevermind how I am, we must stop him, before it's too late!" Highfather exclaimed
As if the situation couldn't get more dire then it was in that one moment, the warp modifier sprung to life once more. Having recharged the boom tube controller in its station, the device powered up again like it did so many times before. As another Boom Tube ripped it's way into the heavens, all heroes in present feared for their lives as Granny Goodness, The Female Furies and twenty more Parademons entered through the hole.
"Tear them apart!" Granny ordered.
Within no time the female furies alongside the Parademons went into battle against the New Genesis warriors but also the members of the Justice League. As Superman & Highfather entered the fray once more, the duo couldn't help but have intertwining thoughts on the situation. They may have been mighty, but even they couldn't keep fighting like this forever. How in the heavens were they going to claim victory?
-Highfather's Palace-
-Medical Wing-
While the Justice League members were quarreling with the forces of Apokolips on the outside, on the inside Black Siren was terrorizing members of the medical staff. Recovering from being attacked earlier Black Siren took it upon herself to cause as much damage as possible. Like the songstress she was Black Siren went from floor to floor, using her sonic scream powers any chance she got. Patients, medical staff, and security personnel were unable to escape or stop her wrath as she left piles of bodies with bleeding ears in her wake.
"Ryan, come out wherever you are!" Unlike Sparrow who had the objective of flooding New Metropolis with Parademons, Black Siren had the special task of retrieving Garfield & Lunar for Darkseid. Her mission would take a backseat however, as she wanted to find and kill Ryan Wilder first as retribution for attacking her earlier. "Stop hiding Ryan, come out and face me!"
Instead of finding her prey she was greeted to the sight of a few nurses fleeing with sick children still in their hospital beds. Upon spotting Black Siren the nurses propelled themselves as fast as they can down the hallway, trying to do their best to get away from this mad woman.
"Oh come on, it can't be that easy!" Once again a bunch of sitting ducks were fleeing right before her, guess a few more bodies wouldn't hurt.
"Siren!" Before Black Siren could even think of screaming at the innocents, she heard her being called. Looking behind her the way she came, her target Ryan stood in full view just a few feet from where she was at now.
"I was wondering how many people I had to kill before you showed up?"
"You want me here, I am!"
"Not for long!"
With that Black Siren inhaled as much air as she possibly could before unleashing one of her more powerful sonic screams. With the range that Ryan was at Black Siren expected the nurse to die instantly from the soundwaves, surprisingly however she stood against the attack.
"What the hell?" Black Siren questioned as the girl stood unharmed. Breathing deep again, she unleashed an even stronger scream that echoed loudly throughout the hospital. Ryan once again stood firmly as the scream blast brushed off of her harmlessly.
"What's the matter, Siren no base left in your voice?" Ryan inquired with a chuckle.
"WHY WON'T YOU DIE!" Black Siren was set to try and use her powers once again, but this time Ryan was quicker. Betwixt in her fingers Ryan produced three small blue capsules which she then threw to the ground near Siren.
Upon collision with the ground, the capsules sprung to life, opening and unleashing a gray mist around Black Siren. Before the Paragon could grasp what was happening, she mistakenly inhaled the substance which began to choke her slightly . Like Cruella De Ville after too many cigarettes, the Paragon doubled over while coughing violently.
"What *cough* did you *cough* do?"
Ryan grinned. "Tear gas pellets and I'm wearing sonic earbuds designed to block out your canary cry!"
"*cough* So, you did your homework *cough* Is that it? I'd say that's invasion of *cough* privacy!"
"Doesn't matter, it works!"
"I'll *cough* get *cough* you for this!"
It's a good thing she had time to run down to the vault during the confusion, without these items she would never have been able to subdue her opponent. Sadly though Ryan found herself retreating into the rest of the hospital instead of trying to help Raven. Those smoke pellets would only keep Black Siren incapacitated for so long, if she really wanted to do some good she had to help all these patients in staff get out of the medical wing as soon as possible. Hopefully, she could garner this win before Siren decided to come after her again.
-Elsewhere-
"So long as life remains, there is always hope... and so long as there is hope, there can be victory!"
These wise words of Wonder Woman spoke to Garfield's very soul.
She had quoted that saying to the Heroes before they went out on the battlefield against Darkseid, five years ago. Even with her missing that saying would still forever resonate in Garfield's heart. He often thought that his surviving the war was a cruel unnecessary joke played onto him from God. As he lived throughout these last few days, he knew that was a falsehood. He was spared to meet Ryan, to meet Lunar and to overcome the trauma he had been experiencing. Garfield had been spared so that he could be the hero that the galaxy needed at this very moment, the hero that could stop Darkseid once and for all.
"Friend, are you ok?" Lunar asked with concern as he gave him a little nudge.
Lunar's concern was enough to snap Garfield out of his zone and back to reality. He soon remembered where he and Lunar were at, on the roof of the palace overlooking the courtyard where the battle took place.
"This is it friend, are you ready?" Lunar questioned once more trying to mentally prepare himself for the task at hand.
Garfield nodded in response. He couldn't help but notice that Lunar's usual childlike attitude had been swapped with one of seriousness. This suddenly reminded Garfield that this little cub had been in combat before, and judging by his reaction he was itching to do some good once more. He was not about to let him down, he was going to live up to Kadin's legacy and bring honor to the title of Moon Fang once again.
"Remember friend, say the magic words!" Lunar reminded me. "Fang Fury!"
This was it.
The final moments where Garfield's life was about to change for the better once again.
"Fang Fury!" Garfield yelled out proudly as he balled his fist and crossed it in front of his chest with the gemstone facing outward. The Gemstone blared brightly with unknown power while the gem on Lunar's forehead began to glow as well. The tiger cub unleashed a roar of dominance before his entire body dissipated into a ball of energy which flew into the bracelets gemstones. Garfield braced himself as his entire body was shrouded with the unknown energy.
Having been out of the hero game for some time now Garfield thought it would be appropriate to create the flashiest entrance that he could possibly make. While the energy still clung to his body Garfield leapt off of the rooftop and down into the Courtyard grounds where the battle was currently taking place. As Garfield landed directly on his feet, the ground before him crumbled leaving a deep impression of sheer weight and power.
Up until now Garfield went unnoticed by the forces of Apokolips; it wasn't until he crash landed in the courtyard that everything seemed to stand still. Granny Goodness, The Furies, Sparrow and every Parademon seemingly were frozen in time as Garfield's armor stopped shining giving way to his new appearance.
Garfield was now equipped from head to toe in robust but very sleek armor. The Moon Fang armor was dark green in color with splashes of violet and silver claw marks that went all throughout it. The breastplate was modeled after a Japanese samurai and had the imprint of a tiger upon it's face. The armor also came with reinforced steel knee guards, ninja shoulder pads, armored boots that resembled a tiger's feet and a feline tail that flowed out the back. His left hand was shielded by a computerized gauntlet complete with a miniature keyboard inside while the right hand contained his metallic bracelet. The Helmet of the armor was modeled after a tiger and like all paragons his armor contained an oversized compartment belt where his golden cogs lay.
"We did it Lunar!" Garfield declared. From the visor built inside his helmet, Garfield had a high-resolution view of the battlefield before him. Much like looking at a high-tech computer, Garfield had digital eyes on his allies, enemies, power level, suit components and so much more.
"Congratulations Moon Fang!" Lunar responded as an animated cat icon appeared in Garfield's view. Although he could only hear Lunar's voice, Garfield knew for sure that his tiger friend would be guiding him through every step of the battle.
Sparrow bit his lower lip upon seeing Paragon Moon Fang before him. While he was sure that they would achieve victory, having Garfield unlock the armor just added a whole new wrench to the plan which would make it harder for his master to earn victory.
"Don't just stand there you morons, capture him!" Granny Goodness instructed with a scowl and in no time the Parademons started to swarm away from the Justice League and onto their new target.
"Friend!" Lunar called out. "The armor will protect you, but you have to do fighting, I'll guide you the same way I guided Kadin!"
"Got it, I'm ready!"
Moon Fang took a fierce fighting pose as the Parademons began to swarm around him with their overwhelming numbers. As soon as he was surrounded by a total of fifty or more Parademons, the beasts each opened their massive jaws unleashing bursts of fire in an attempt to cook him alive.
"Garfield!" Superman cried with worry as his ally's body was suddenly covered with the Parademons flames.
His worry would be in vain however as soon the flames were expelled back onto the Parademons knocking them away from there target and in all different directions. Although they had attacked him with all they had, Moon Fang stood unharmed from the attack.
Now that the parademons were wide open it was Moon Fang's turn to attack. Bracing himself with a pouncing stance, he dashed like his feline persona heading straight toward a single parademons. Using the cosmic energy built into his armor Moon Fang summoned claw-like constructs on the end of his fingers before jumping at his foes. His nearest parademon met a fatal end as Moon Fang used his claws to slice through the creature with ease.
He wasn't finished with his attack yet however, as his visor locked sights on the other parademons Moon Fang threw his body at them. Almost like Wolverine in a marvel movie, Moon Fang shredded parademon after parademon with precise swipes and claw uppercuts. Before any in attendance knew it, Moon Fang had slaughtered a total of fifty Parademons without breaking a single sweat.
"Holy shit!" Deadshot exclaimed as he watched any remaining shrapnel of the parademons fall to the ground.
"The kid's actually doing it!" Robotman commented in surprise.
"Let's give him a hand!"
On Highfather's command the New Genesis warriors and Justice League went back into battle against the forces of Apokolips. It was good timing for them to do so, because soon enough out of the boom tube came thirty more parademons who this time went for Moon Fang as their main target.
"Friend more parademons incoming!" Lunar warned. "Use your golden cogs!"
"Gotcha Lunar!" Moon Fang replied. Following suit he went for a random cog inside his belt and quickly inserted it into his bracelet. As the cog dissipated with cosmic energy a dual pair of spiked silver & green chakrams appeared in both Moon Fang's hands.
Moon Fang looked curiously at the weapons that were now given to him. He expected some badass weapon like a sword or maybe a lance of some type but I guess Chakrams will have to do the trick. He had once seen Raven use these weapons during training so hopefully they wouldn't be too hard to master.
As the next formation of Paragon's came upon him Moon Fang acted accordingly. Like a javelin thrower in the Olympics, Moon Fang gripped the weapons tightly before thrusting them fully into the sky. Once airborne the chakram's spun rapidly like a set of boomerangs just twice as deadly. As the parademons got closer to Moon Fang the chakram's came down upon them with their spikes, the Parademons didn't see the weapon coming and before they knew it the chakrams began to slice their heads right off their bodies. Moon Fang cautiously jumped outta the way as multiple parademon heads were sliced off and began to rain on the ground before him.
"Good shot!" Lunar cheered.
"I think I'm getting the hang of this Lunar!" Garfield stated as the chakrams flew back just in time for him to catch.
"Die!" Granny Goodness barked with aggression as she charged at Garfield with a cattle prod in hand. Thankfully for Garfield he reacted in time and was able to block the attack before kicking her away from him.
,
"Sneak attack, dude so not cool!"
"You little vermin, I'll teach you to kill the soldiers of Darkseid!"
"You and what army ya old bat?"
"Right here beastkid!"
Moon Fang was made to taste Apokolyptian fist as Stompa got the drop on him. He was so busy blocking Granny's pathetic attack that he didn't notice the furies had gotten close to him. Getting struck by Stompa's knuckles was like getting hit by a runway train and before he knew it his entire body was being flung across the courtyard like a wad of gum.
"Damnit!" Moon Fang cursed as his body crash landed onto the pavement.
"Are you ok friend?" Lunar worrily asked
"I'm good little buddy!"
"Furies tear him apart!"
As Granny Goodness gave the command once more, Lashina, Stopma & Mad Harriet charged into battle against paragon. After shaking off the attack that had just been inflicted on him, Moon Fang went into battle again to handle the furies.
-Highfather's Palace-
-Medical Wing-
Black Siren was livid.
In the span of an hour she had been slashed across the face, stabbed with a shard of glass and left to choke on a substance of smoke. She never felt such humiliation in her entire life, much less at the hands of a mere human like Ryan Wilder. The Afro girl was definitely going to get it now, wherever she was hiding Black Siren was for sure going to make sure she would pay.
From the spot that she had been left in Black Siren started to traverse the rest of the hospital looking for someone to kill or her target. Unfortunately for her Ryan was quick on her feet and managed to get the staff & patients out of the hospital, keeping them permanently from harm's way.
Where could she have gone?
Was the main question on Black Siren's mind as she tiptoed through every area of the medical wing, leaving no stone unturned.
"Come on man hurry up!" A male voice suddenly blurted out.
"Shut up, this damn hospital bed is heavy as fuck!" Another voice responded
Black Siren licked her lips with pleasantness as she turned the corner, ready to scream at whoever had the unfortunate luck to be there. As she made her way to that location however, she became surprised at the sight before her.
Outside room 229, two men in hoodies and animal masks were holding onto a hospital bed with the comatosed Kate Kane on top of it. Laying a few yards away was the body of Ryan Wilder.
"Oooh shit, it's Black Siren!" The man shouted
"We're so dead!" He panicked
"Nobody steals my kill!" An angry Black Siren snarled before preparing herself to open her mouth.
"Hold it!" Another voice rang out. Black Siren stopped her attack almost immediately as the woman in the coat and floppy hat came from out of the room. "You oughta know MS Wilder isn't dead, she's merely knocked out for trying to keep us from taking MS Kane here!"
"Who the hell are you?" Black Siren questioned.
"That's not important!" She replied. "You should know though I've got no quarrel with Darkseid, in fact I'm just here on another assignment."
"What kind of assignment?"
"Sorry for Society members only, let's go boys!"
"Wait!"
But it was too late. The woman's quick introduction was enough to confuse Siren long enough for them to escape. In no time with their captive they snuck away down the halls and out of Black Siren's reach.
"Wonder what that was about?" Black Siren questioned. While she did contemplate going after them, the paragon was more interested in the unconscious Ryan that was just a few inches away from her. While she did want to kill her where she lay, Black Siren suddenly got a very different idea, one that would surely satisfy her and Sparrow.
-In the Courtyard-
"Argh!" Paragon Moon Fang grimaced as he felt Mad Harriett's claws collided against his armor. THe intensity of the attack alongside the weight of the paragon armor was enough to send Moon Fang backward, luckily for him he dug his heels deep into the ground to prevent himself from losing his balance.
Following Mad Harriett's pattern, Lashina prepared herself to attack next. With a few fierce cracks of her whip the dominatrix extended her weapon outward, which unfortunately wrapped itself around Moon Fang's neck. The Paragon cried out as electricity suddenly started to surge throughout his entire armor.
"Alert Garfield, system is overloading!" Lunar warned. Although Moon Fang didn't need a verbal warning, from his visor he could easily see the armor assaulting him with alert and danger screens.
With Moon Fang on the ropes Stompa was set to deliver the final blow against him. Charging at full speed like the rhino she was, Stompa used her anti gravity boots to hurl her entire body up in the air and directly over Moon Fang. Once she was exactly at that point, Stompa turned the boots off, and allowed her massive behind to come crashing down like a meteor.
Paragon Moon Fang was helpless to defend himself as Stompa's entire body came down, not only pounding him into the dirt below but causing the ground around him to crumble. Much like an ant being crushed by a shoe, Moon Fang seemingly had met his defeat at the hands of Stompa's massive rear.
"Well done my darlings!" Granny Goodness cooed. "MR Logan should be no more trouble to us now!"
As Granny Goodness was all set to declare victory, the ground underneath Stompa began to shake violently. Suddenly without warning Stompa was ejected from her landing spot and sent crashing into Granny Goodness.
"Dude, did you really just try to kill me with your ass?" Moon Fang questioned having survived the attack on his life. Now up and ready for more, he removed the whip from around his neck before tossing it back in Lashina's direction.
"Don't just stand there, you ninny's get him!" Granny Goodness commanded once more as she finally withered away from being stuck under Stompa.
"Yes Granny!"
Following their leaders orders, Lashina, Mad Harriett & Stompa took positions surrounding Moon Fang and began to encircle him. Laughing maniacally and prepping their weapons, the three furies waited patiently for the right moment to attack one more.
"How ya holding up Lunar?" Moon Fang asked
"I'm fine, friend, but the armor has sustained fifty percent of damage." Lunar stated. "If we take anymore damage like that then we'll be forcibly separated!"
"What do you mean separated?"
"The Paragon armor has built- in safety measures to protect both the user and the Piparoid. If we take too much damage we'll be de-transformed for a short period of time in order to heal!"
"We can't take anymore damage then, we gotta get rid of these three before they make that happen!" A task easier said than done. Much like how he had fought them five years ago, the furies hadn't lost their touch. The trio, while different in fighting styles, always incorporated a massive stronghold of teamwork that was extremely difficult to defend against. If Moon Fang was to have any chance of turning the tide, he had to break them apart individually.
Then an idea suddenly sparked in Garfield's average sized brain. Through his visor the hero looked deep across the courtyard beyond the Justice League fighting against Sparrow & the Parademons. His optics soon set sight on the warp modifier device, which was once again recharging the boom tube so that more parademons would arrive on earth.
"Lunar I think I got a plan!"
"Whatever it is, I'm right behind you!"
"What are you twits waiting for destroy him!" Granny Goodness screamed
"You got some guts for trying to face us beastkid!" Mad Harriet
"Yeah and now we're gonna spread um all over the earth!" Stompa barked before she once again began to charge at Moon Fang. With both balled fists, the fury prepared herself to beat the paragon into submission with her advanced strength.
Seeing right through her obvious strategy, Moon Fang leaped into the air missing the attack by a mere inches. Once he was out of harm's way he contorted his body so he would land on Stompa's back.
"What the hell, get off of me!"
"It's time for a game of monkey on your back!" Moon Fang laughed.
"I said get off!" Stompa ordered as she tried to punch him off of her, Moon Fang was quicker however and avoided the attack causing her to damage herself. "Ouch!"
"Oops, looks like you missed!" Lunar teased
Enraged at the paragon, Stompa began to use both of her fists to try and punch him off. Each attack would fail however as Moon Fang kept avoiding her punches, causing her to damage herself endlessly. Lashina & Mad Harriett watched in disbelief as Stompa kept hitting herself to a point where her armor began to break.
"Lashina get him off of me!" Stompa bellowed.
Trying to help her comrade out, Lashina charged her whip with electrical power before throttling it toward the hero. Moon Fang could see the whip oncoming and sprawled out of the way just in time for it to latch onto Stompa's neck. The giantess woman screamed out as her entire body suddenly was assaulted with thousands of volts of electricity.
"Lets see what else this armor can do!" With the primary threat of Stompa currently incapacitated, Moon Fang prepared himself for the next phase of his plan. Going for a random golden cog in his belt, the paragon inserted it and watched into dissipate with cosmic energy. For Paragon Moon Fang the weapon that materised was a long high tech powered rifle with a large drill on the end of it. "Woah what's this?"
"The Drill laser, it was one of Kadin's favorite's weapons!" Lunar answered happily.
"Perfect, this is exactly what I need!" Moon Fang said as he aimed the drill laser and pulled the trigger.
The weapon sprung to life as the drill began to rotate rapidly. Soon a clear ball of laser energy erupted from its tip and bolted toward its first target, Stompa.
Still being subjected to the electrical energy from Lashina's whip, Stompa was powerless to stop the laser attack which exploded on contact with her chest. The almighty impact of the laser sent Stompa flying in the direction of the warp modifier device. At the exact moment that another boom tube opened, Stompa went crashing through the portal, not only blocking more parademons from appearing but effectively sending her back to Apokolips.
"Damnit!" Granny cursed
"Stompa!" Mad Harriett wept.
"Granny, what do we do?" Lashina questioned
But Granny Goodness didn't have time to think of a plan as Moon Fang confronted the trio. Aiming his weapon, the paragon sent three separate shots out. The remaining furies and Granny Goodness met the same fate as Stompa as the laser shots blasted them and sent them flying back through another boom tube as it opened.
Now that Granny Goodness and the furies were back through the Boom Tube. Moon Fang turned his attention to the remaining problems at hand.
His first order of business was to give his side an edge in the battle. Turning his sights on the warp space modifier, Moon Fang sent out a single shot destroying the device to mechanical bits. On its destruction the boom tubes it was creating vanished into nothingness and forever would keep Darkseid from sending reinforcements.
Now that the device was destroyed it was time to wreck the rest of Darkseid's plans. Turning his attention to where the Justice League was fighting, Moon Fang sped directly at them.
With his drill laser gripped firmly in his hand, he locked sights on the parademons before sending highpowered shots of lasers at them. Much like a macho actor in an a-list action movie, Moon Fang sent endless shots toward any enemy he saw.
-On Apokolips-
Darkseid's eyes glew red with omega energy as he was forced to watch the changed layout of the battle. One second he was winning against the Justice League and the next his forces were being brutally slaughtered. First it was Granny & the furies who ended up crashing into his throne room and now on the screen the tyrant was faced with the displeasing sight of his parademons dwindling at an alarming rate.
-In the Courtyard-
"Nice shootin Tex, keep it up!" Lunar couldn't help but cheer on his new partner as he continued the assault.
For the most part Gar was starting to get the hang of the paragon armor. Now that most of the heavy threats were gone,he could easily end the rest of the parademons with his drill laser. By this time he had shot and killed over fifty parademons, and soon he would have taken them all down.
As Moon Fang came across a set of parademons trying to fly away into the city, he aimed his weapon once more in an attempt to shoot them.
"Gotcha!" Moon Fang announced as his drill laser fired another round. This time however his attack would fail due to the sudden appearance of Sparrow who flew by and blocked the shot.
"That'll be enough of that!" Sparrow spat
"Sparrow!" He exclaimed
Before Moon Fang could try and take another shot at him,Sparrow sprung into action. Swooping down, the paragon grabbed Moon Fang by his neck and began to fly upward in the air.
"Let me go!" Moon Fang ordered
"You little green bastard, you ruined everything!" Sparrow shouted.
"Yup and now I'm gonna take you down!"
"Oh is that so?" Sparrow questioned with a surprised tone."Well by all means let me introduce you to the big leagues!"
Without warning Paragon Sparrow suddenly tossed Moon Fang into the air. Like a football on kickoff, Sparrow sent Moon Fang flying through the skylights of New Metropolis.
Moon Fang could only scream in displeasure as his entire body was flung against his control. Within the next sixty seconds the paragon had collided through eight buildings and an unknown statue before he came crashing downward to the grounds of the New Metropolis power plant.
"Ugh!" Moon Fang groaned loudly as his body imprint was left deep into where he had crashed. His muscles lay numb with agony against the weight of the armor that seemed to pin him down. Moon Fang saw stars as his visor screen was lit up with even more warning and error messages.
"Garfield are you ok?" Lunar asked with concerned
"P-P-pain, s-so m-m-much p-p-pain!"
"We have to get up before Sparrow comes back!"
But it was too late. In Moon Fang's visor he could easily see Sparrow descending from the skies and downward onto the ground just a few feet away from him. "So let me ask you, how did you see this going?"
"Whaddya mean?"
"I mean did you really think you were just going to put that armor on, defeat me and save the day?" He asked. "New flash chump, you've had that armor on for half a day, I've had mine for five years!"
"What's your point?"
"My point you idiot is that you're no match for me, so why don't you give up now and spare me from breaking your bones!"
"Are you deaf or something?" Moon Fang fought against the pain he was feeling and somehow managed to get back to his feet. "I already told you, I'll never give into you no matter what happens!"
"Your really going to regret those words!" Fed up with Moon Fang's constant rebellion against him, Sparrow had no choice but to opt for his usual violence. Now that he was in his paragon armor, Sparrow was going to beat him senseless. He was going to show him that nobody disrespects Darkseid, in any shape or form.
The tension reached a boiling point and soon both Paragons went at each other both fighting for what they believed in.
End of Chapter 8
I think this is a great place to stop. We still have much more to go, Sparrow vs Moon Fang, Ryan's capture at the hands of Black Siren and the mysterious plan by Black Mask. All these questions will be answered soon enough. Chapter 9 will be posted on my birthday around May 29th.
Until then remember to review good people!
Arigato!
