Monday: October 7, 2013 9:23 A.M.
Randy looked at me as I laid on top of him. "We need to get back to doing this more often."
I smile at him. "I agree."
"You were right though. That lingerie does look great on you."
I laugh. "I'm pretty sure that the lingerie was the last thing you were worried about."
"Considering how smoking hot you are, you shouldn't be surprised about that." Randy kisses me.
"Well, thanks, handsome."
"I love you so much."
"I love you too."
Randy held me close. "Are you sure you really want to go through with siding with them?"
"We don't have a choice. We can't keep continuing to strain our marriage. You can't split from them without them deliberately targeting you after. It's our only choice."
He kisses me. "I feel like I'm forcing you into this, and I hate that."
"I don't blame you for it. I blame them."
"You could blame me."
"I am sick of blaming you. I don't want to do any more of that."
Randy nodded. "That's fair. You're so amazing."
I smile. "You are too."
"I am so sorry you have to go against your morals."
I shrug. "The things you do for love, Randy."
"Let me repeat something I've said before, you're too good for me."
"Well, you're the only man I want, so you're stuck with me."
"I'm definitely not complaining. We're going to have to get out of bed soon. You need to be at the arena pretty early since you're the general manager."
"Yeah, I know. We should be able to have a meal together before that though."
"I'll take you to the arena if you want. That way we can ride together after the show is over."
"If you want to do that, that's fine. I didn't want to make you go to the arena early. You need to get in a workout before Raw tonight too."
"I'll drop you off at the arena, go work out, and come back. Not a problem."
"Thanks. I really don't want to get out of bed."
"Me either. Do you know anything about how this Big Show thing is gonna be handled?"
"I'm not sure yet, but I'll make sure something does happen. If Stephanie and Triple H don't have a plan, I'll handle it personally."
"Thanks, sweetheart. Do you think Daniel and possibly Brie are going to come after you for last night?"
"Maybe. They do it because they think I'm more of a pushover than Stephanie and Triple H. I'm not. Plus, I'm willing to be a bitch if I have to now, even if I'm on TV."
"I mean this in the nicest way possible, but you do have the talent of being pretty good at being a bitch."
I smirk. "I know. Must've learned it from you because you're great at being an asshole."
Randy laughs. "Thanks, Rissa. If they both come out there together to say things on TV to you since their relationship is being acknowledged on TV so they can, would you be mad if I came down and got involved? I know you can handle yourself just fine, but if they're going to try to gang up on you, I'd like to be there since this situation does involve me."
"Only if they're both out there on TV, confronting me."
"I have no issue agreeing to that. So what is going to happen with the WWE Championship?"
"Well, I'm assuming that I'll handle it since I booked the WWE Championship match that got ruined, and I'm thinking about a rematch inside Hell in a Cell."
"I do like Hell in a Cell matches."
"Good. That'll probably be what happens. Just so you know though, I blame what happened last night with Big Show on Triple H and Stephanie."
"I know you do, Rissa. I get it."
"I'm gonna act a little mad because if I don't, it'll look too suspicious. I'll support you, but for now, I gotta make this agreeing with them thing look not too suspicious."
"I know. And eventually we'll find a way to handle this mess."
I kiss him before getting out of bed finally. "We will."
I slowly make my way towards my office as I hear what sounds like yelling. I slowly walk into the office.
"It was you who was out there last night, Brad!" Stephanie shouts at Brad. "This is on you! We're having to fix your mess!"
I make my way between Stephanie and Brad. "The plan with Big Show last night was either your idea or Paul's idea, Stephanie. You can handle that as that's your mess. I will handle the situation with the WWE Championship. I'll leave you time to address Big Show at the start of the show and will address the WWE Championship a little later."
"You're not holding your assistant accountable." Stephanie tells me.
"I don't believe this is on him at all."
"You need to get it together. You're blaming the wrong people."
"Stephanie, I'm trying to be polite about this. Just handle Big Show. I need to make sure that things are in order for Raw tonight, so please get out of my office."
"Fine." Stephanie exits my office and closes the door.
I look at Brad. "You good?"
"Yeah." Brad nods. "Thanks."
"How are things looking for tonight?"
"Good for the most part. Do you know how you're going to handle the WWE Championship situation?"
"I've already got an idea in mind."
The door opens a little bit, and Shawn Michaels peeks in.
"Hey, Miss GM, let me know when you've got some free time." Shawn says to me. "I want to talk."
I look over at Brad. "Can you give me and Shawn a little bit of time to talk?"
Brad nods. "Of course."
"Thank you."
Brad exits my office, and Shawn enters, closing the door behind him.
"What's going on?" I ask. "I didn't even know you were here."
"You know me. I like surprises." Shawn sits down. "I wanted to discuss this whole situation with Randy, Triple H, Stephanie, Daniel, Big Show, and the Shield boys."
"So essentially everything that's been going on with Triple H and Stephanie and their power trip?"
"Pretty much."
"Why are you coming to me? Paul is your best friend."
"Because I know this puts you in a rough situation."
"It's definitely not benefitting my marriage."
"You have better morals than most people in this business. You've even done your best to be fair to Daniel after he cheated on you and treated you like crap. I may have mentored him, but I don't condone any of that."
"I know, Shawn."
"I also know that family is a big deal to you and sticking to your morals has to be hard in this situation."
"It is, especially when my marriage has definitely suffered from it. Randy and I are trying to work on that, and for now, I'm being selfish for my marriage and going to be a lot more going along with things for the time being."
"I see your point. Your marriage should be a huge priority, and it's obvious how much you and Randy love each other. Just make sure you're careful. You're not like the rest of the McMahons. Being a bit corrupt isn't really your thing."
"Are you sitting there and saying the McMahons can be corrupt?"
"They don't really hide it most of the time. Hell, I was involved in the Montreal Screwjob. I've been involved in it personally. I don't encourage you to do that. If you do get involved, be careful how deep you go. You may need to tell Randy that too. The Montreal Screwjob made me pretty hated for quite some time. Randy doesn't need to end up in that same scenario."
"It'd be harder to get him out of it too since he's married to me and I'm a McMahon."
"That's true. You two really need to have each other's backs in all this. Do what you have to do to stop straining your marriage for now, but make sure you don't lose your morals in the process."
"I think I needed to hear that a little. Thanks, Shawn."
"Of course. You love this business. It's one of the reasons I liked you so quickly and was so willing to help you learn. You love this business and take things seriously. That's always a good thing. Why do you think I requested that you be involved when we needed a woman involved to feud with Lita when we were feuding with Edge and Randy? You loved this business enough to take it seriously and put in enough effort to become a star. Look at you now. I couldn't be prouder of you."
"Thanks, Shawn. I think Paul has changed since then."
"He has. He isn't Triple H the Game anymore. He's Triple H the corporate man. He got corrupt with the rest of the family. That's what I'm hoping you'll avoid."
"Me too. I'm wanting to book Randy and Daniel inside Hell in a Cell for the WWE Championship to settle all this, but I'm worried about all this. What if that still doesn't stop the match from having issues? There could be another corrupted referee."
"Get a guest referee."
"Who would I put in there?"
"I'd do it. I may be Paul's best friend, but I'm Daniel's mentor. I can be fair."
"Don't force yourself to get involved, Shawn."
"I want to. It'd be fun and fair."
I nod. "Alright. Thanks, Shawn."
I know I want that girl so bad
I lie awake at night
And think of all the things that I would do
With a girl like that…
I enter the ring with an irritated look on my face and a microphone in my hand. "Ladies and gentlemen, last night at Battleground, we were supposed to crown a new WWE Champion. However, due to circumstances beyond my control, that didn't happen. So I'd like to take a moment to apologize to you, the WWE Universe, for that. You were robbed of a good match and of a WWE Champion, and while Stephanie is handling everything with Big Show after last night's events, I would like to handle a big part of this situation myself. That would be crowning a WWE Champion. The WWE Championship has been vacant for a month now, and I want that to change. It's clear after a screwjob, a crooked referee, and Big Show, that the next match between Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton needs to be ensured to be a fair match. So in three weeks' time at Hell in a Cell, Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton will face off again inside Hell in a Cell, and the winner will become the new WWE Champion."
The crowd cheers loudly.
I smile before continuing. "However, I've decided that we need something else to ensure that this match is a fair match. And what that would be is to make sure that the referee of this match calls things in a fair way. And while we have plenty of licensed referees in WWE, I've decided that I want someone I personally know that will call this match down the middle as it should be, and that person is the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels!"
("Flight of the Valkyries" plays)
Daniel and Brie walk towards the ring. I cross my arms as I watch them. They enter the ring, and Daniel grabs a microphone.
"And here's the facade." Daniel comments. "Marissa Orton waltzes herself out here, acts innocent of any wrongdoing, announces a big match, and manipulates everyone into believing that she's the good guy here."
I roll my eyes. "First of all, I'm not manipulating anyone. Second of all, what is your issue? I had nothing to do with what happened last night and am giving you another opportunity to become WWE Champion. I'm doing you a favor."
Brie grabs the microphone from Daniel. "Seems a bit odd that all of these issues have continued to happen since you've been general manager. You've been here for two months, and I don't see anything changing for the better."
"Last I checked, Brie, this conversation didn't concern you. You're just mad I beat you last night. As for you, Daniel, I've been fair and been giving you opportunities. If you don't want to admit that, that's on you."
"How have you been fair? You didn't make sure that Big Show didn't interfere last night. You only ran out there to check on Randy."
"Am I not allowed to be concerned about my own husband? I'm making things fair. Nobody should be interfering in a Hell in a Cell match, and the match will be called down the middle."
"How do you know Shawn will call the match down the middle? He's Triple H's best friend."
"And he's your mentor. You're acting ridiculous. Shawn Michaels is a neutral party in all of this. I'm being fair, so I'm asking you to be more respectful of my position."
"Why should we be respectful of you when you're lying?" Brie asks.
"I'm not lying though. I've been fair to you, despite the way you've both treated me. I'm not as big of a bitch as you two make me out to be. I could be though. Yes, I'm honestly starting to lose my patience with you two because you make me out to be a villain when I'm not, and you both always act like you're victims. You're not. Daniel, you go pity me every single time things don't go your way. Brie, you've always been obnoxious, and the only reason you got your job back is because of Total Divas."
Brie punches me in the jaw. I stumble and hold my face. As I go to hit her back, Daniel grabs me to hold me back and allows Brie to hit on me. I elbow Daniel in his face to force him to let me go before punching Brie in the face. Daniel goes to come after me, but Randy sneaks in and catches Daniel with an RKO. Brie goes to grab Randy's arm, but I catch her with a Superkick. Daniel grabs Brie, and they stumble towards the ramp.
Randy nods at me. "Hey, beautiful."
I smile at him. "Hey. Can you pass me my microphone?"
"I got it." Randy passes me the microphone before pulling me to him.
I look at Daniel and Brie. "It's pretty clear to me that nothing is going to stop you two from hating me and wanting me to be a villain. Let's be real, I'll never like you two. Here's the thing though, this is the WWE. We settle issues in the ring, so I have an idea. Maybe we can get a Tag Team match made with the four of us where it's me and Randy against the two of you, and we can wrestle each other to decide who the better couple is. If only we could find someone to make that match. Oh wait, that's right. I'm the general manager." I give Daniel and Brie a serious look. "We'll have an Intergender Tag Team match later tonight. See you two in the ring."
I drop my microphone as Randy's theme song starts to play. Daniel and Brie start slowly walking up the ramp. Randy keeps a tight grip around my waist.
"Daniel better never touch you again after this match." Randy whispers to me.
I glance at Randy. "He won't."
Chelle looks at me as I stretch out. "Are you sure you and Randy will be fine teaming up tonight?"
I nod. "We'll be fine. Before you bring it up, yes, I know we've been having issues, but we're working on getting better and know how to work together in the ring quite well."
"Okay then."
"I'm confident that things will be fine, and we'll win this match tonight. I'm not worried."
Chelle thinks for a moment. "You're being awfully confident."
"There's nothing wrong with that."
"You got laid last night, didn't you?"
I smile. "This morning actually."
"That's why you're in such a good mood."
"Yes, it's been about two months. This is a good thing for me and Randy."
"I can't believe you two lasted that long without it."
"Only because we were fighting a lot. It would've been much harder without us fighting."
"How do you two still struggle to keep your hands off of each other when you've been together for over four years?"
"One word, attraction."
"Are you talking about our sex life?" Randy asks from the doorway.
"Would you be mad if I was?"
"Did you say anything bad about me?"
"No."
"Then you can talk all you want about it."
"Did you need something?"
"I just wanted to make a small plan for our match later. If you two need to talk more, I can come back."
"It's fine. I'll go find John. See you guys later." Chelle exits my office.
Randy closes the door after Chelle leaves. "Just out of curiosity, do you talk about our sex life a lot?"
"Not really. Chelle just thinks I'm in a good mood and figured that was why."
"Ah I see."
"Do you want to help me with a couple stretches?"
Randy nods. "Sure. I like seeing how flexible you are."
I give him a serious look. "Randal Keith."
Randy laughs as he helps me stretch. "We both know you like it."
"So what are you wanting to plan out for this match?"
"I was really just wanting to be on the same page on whether or not you'd be willing to wrestle Daniel at all since you made it an Intergender Tag Team match instead of a Mixed Tag."
"That was just in case the opportunity to wrestle Daniel presents itself."
"So yes?"
"Yes, not like it's the first time."
"Okay. Cool." Randy helps me as I switch stretches. "We can go another round tonight if you want."
"Making up for lost time?"
"Maybe just a little."
"I'll think about it."
"Great."
"How'd Stephanie and Triple H respond to me putting myself in a match, with you on top of that?"
"I don't think they're very happy about it, but they tried to play it cool in front of me. I'm pretty sure they realize that we're on decent terms at the moment."
"Good."
"So what's the deal with Shawn being the referee for Hell in a Cell?"
"I figured with everything that's happened, I need a trustworthy person to be the referee."
"I'm not doubting you here, but are you sure Shawn will be fair? Paul is his best friend, and he mentored Daniel. Shawn could decide to side with someone."
"If he sides with Paul, it'll benefit you."
"And what if he sides with Daniel?"
"I don't think he will. I spoke with him earlier, and he was adamant about being fair. If that changes, I'm pretty certain it'll be to benefit you."
Randy nods. "Alright."
I caressed Randy's face. "It'll be alright. Okay?"
"Okay. I love you so much." Randy kisses me.
Brad coughs to grab our attention. Randy and I stop kissing, and Randy gives Brad an irritated look.
"Uh…Mrs. Orton, Ricardo Rodriguez is in the trainers, and there's a good chance he's injured." Brad tells me nervously.
"I guess I should go check on him." I look over at Randy. "I'll come find you by the time Dean and Colby vs. Goldust and Cody is on."
"Alright. Love you." Randy kisses my forehead before walking out, glaring at Brad on his way out.
I looked over at Randy as we watched Cody and Goldust wrestle a Tag Team match against Colby and Dean. Randy kept his eyes locked on the screen where the match was displayed, but he pulled me closer. I glanced over at Eve as I leaned on Randy. We had spoken a little bit, but since she and Cody still had issues with Randy, we weren't speaking much when Randy was around.
"You can go over and talk to her if you want." Randy whispers.
"She's busy watching the match." I tell Randy.
"Okay then."
Dean hits Cody with a chair and gets his team disqualified. However, before I can even get involved, Triple H goes down and makes the match no disqualification. Colby hits a Curb Stomp on Cody and pins him.
1…2…3!
"Here are your winners, the Shield!"
The Shield continues to beat on Cody and Goldust. Triple H starts walking up the ramp to head backstage.
Well it's the Big Show!
It's a big bad show tonight. (oh baby, come on. oh yeah)
Yeah, it's the Big Show…
Big Show heads towards Triple H. Triple H gets back in the ring and hides behind the Shield.
Randy gives me a concerned look. "Should I go…"
I cut him off. "No, our match is next."
Big Show fights through all three members of the Shield before knocking out Triple H.
"Maybe it's good that I stayed back here." Randy mutters.
"No kidding." I reply.
The show goes to commercial, and everyone arrives backstage. Triple H sends a deliberate glare towards me and Randy before exiting guerilla.
("Flight of the Valkyries" plays)
"The following is an Intergender Tag Team match! Introducing first, the team of Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan!"
Brie and Daniel head towards the ring to loud cheers from the audience. Randy lets go of his grip on me before grabbing my hand to hold.
"You good?" Randy asks me quietly.
"Yeah, are you?" I respond just as quietly.
"Yes, I am. Let's go kick some ass." Randy kisses my forehead.
I hear voices in my head
They council me
They understand
They talk to me...
"And their opponents, the team of the Queen of Chaos, Marissa, and the Viper, Randy Orton!"
Randy and I made our way down to the ring together. On screen, we weren't the good guys, and we were getting booed by the audience. I didn't care though. I was teaming with my husband for the first time in ages, and it felt good.
Ding! Ding! Ding!
The four of us stared each other down before Brie and Daniel started whispering to each other. Randy and I exchanged a glance between us.
Randy pulled me close. "I figure we just let them decide who's wrestling first, and we'll face our respective rivals."
I looked at him. "It's an Intergender Tag Team match not a Mixed Tag Team match."
"Don't worry. I'll let you get your shots in on Daniel when the time comes." Randy kisses my forehead as Brie heads to the apron and Daniel remains in the ring.
I climb out to the apron myself before Randy and Daniel circle around the ring. Randy and Daniel lock up with each other. Randy gets Daniel in a Side Headlock, but Daniel quickly gets out of it. The two men stare each other down before locking up again. Daniel gets Randy into a Headlock, but like Daniel had just done, Randy quickly got out of it. Randy tried to catch Daniel off guard with a sudden RKO, but Daniel saw it coming and blocked Randy. The two glared at each other before beginning to exchange right hands. Daniel kicked Randy and got Randy on his knees before going for the Yes Kicks. When Daniel goes to kick Randy in the head, Randy rolls out of the ring. Daniel follows Randy and runs at him, but Randy moves and shoves Daniel into the steel steps.
1!
I get off the apron and slowly creep over to where the two men are, having a feeling that Randy would let me get a shot on Daniel here. Brie goes to do the same, but one glare from Randy stops her from getting closer.
2!
Randy looks at me with a smirk on his face as Daniel is slowly starting to get up. Randy knees Daniel in the head before grabbing Daniel and holding him up.
3!
Randy looks at me and nods. I hit Daniel with a Superkick. Daniel falls to the ground.
4!
Brie runs over to get involved. I take her down with a Clothesline. Randy gives me an impressed look.
5!
Randy puts Daniel on the ring apron before climbing back in the ring. Brie gets back up, and I throw her into the barricade. Randy gets in the ring and grabs Daniel and pulls him through the ropes. Randy hits Daniel with the Draping DDT and pins him.
1…2…kickout!
I groan just as I get back on the apron. While I hadn't even gotten in the ring yet, Randy was so close to winning the match, and I would've been okay with that. Randy starts pounding on the mat in preparation for the RKO. Daniel gets up, and Randy goes for the RKO. However, Daniel counters by shoving Randy away and towards our corner, knocking me off of the apron. Daniel catches Randy with an Arm Drag. He then hits Randy with a Running Knee. Daniel pins Randy.
1…2…kickout!
Daniel grabs Randy, but Randy pokes Daniel in the eye to create some separation. Randy rolls back over to our corner just as I climb back onto the apron. I tag myself in. Daniel notices and immediately tags in Brie.
Brie catches me with a Thesz Press and starts punching me. Once she gets off me, I get up, only for her to catch me with a Arm Drag. I get up once again, and Brie catches me with a Dropkick. She pins me.
1…kickout!
Brie goes to grab me, but I roll her into a pin of my own.
1…2…kickout!
Brie's kickout pushes me towards her team's corner, so I slap Daniel across the face before catching Brie with an elbow to the face. I grab Brie and hit her with a Tornado DDT before pinning her.
1…2…kickout!
I kick Brie in the ribs while she's still on the ground. I grab Brie and lock in an Armbar. Brie makes it to the ropes, forcing me to break the submission. Daniel taunts me from the apron, and I glare in his direction. Brie catches me with a Clothesline. I roll to a corner before trying to get up. Brie runs at me, but I move, making her shoulder hit the ring post. I go to grab her, but she hits my face off of the turnbuckle. She grabs me as she climbs up to the top turnbuckle. I hit Brie with a right hand, but she counters with one of her own. She grabs me as she stands on the top turnbuckle, preparing to hit a move, but I elbow her in the side before raking her eyes. I punch Brie in the gut before hitting a Superplex. I roll over to tag in Randy, and Brie rolls over and tags in Daniel.
Daniel immediately catches Randy with a Running Knee. He then does the Yes Kicks on Randy. After kicking Randy in the head, Daniel pins Randy.
1…2…kickout!
Daniel runs at Randy once again, but Randy moves out of the way and catches Daniel with a Scoop Slam. Daniel rolls over by the ropes near me to recover. I notice the referee has his attention on Randy, so I knee Daniel in the head. Randy grabs Daniel and drags him to the middle of the ring before stomping on him, numerous times on his arms and legs before dropping a knee on Daniel's head.
1…2…kickout!
Randy once again prepares for the RKO, but Daniel once again counters it by shoving Randy away. Randy stops himself from running into the turnbuckle before elbowing Daniel in the face. Randy grabs Daniel and tosses him onto the apron before hitting him with the Draping DDT. Randy pins Daniel.
1…2…
Brie breaks up the pin. She rushes back over to her corner as Randy glares at her. Daniel rolls Randy into a pin.
1…2…kickout!
Randy grabs Daniel and throws him into a corner. Randy punches on Daniel before lifting him up onto the top turnbuckle and hitting Daniel with a Superplex. Randy considers going for a pin, but he decides not to. Instead, he stands in a corner, preparing for the banned Punt Kick. Usually, this would've upset me, but I likely could get him out of trouble for it this time. Randy goes for the Punt Kick, but Daniel moves out of the way and tags in Brie. Brie reluctantly gets into the ring. Randy rolls his eyes before tagging me in.
Brie runs at me like earlier, but I catch her with an Arm Drag. We both get up, and we lock up with each other. I gain the advantage. I lock Brie in a Headlock. She elbows me to escape. I take Brie to the ground with a Clothesline. When Brie gets up, I hit her with a Running Knee before pinning her.
1…2…kickout!
I grab Brie, but she rolls me into a pin.
1…2…kickout!
I catch Brie with a Superkick. I then grab her and hit her with a DDT. I pin Brie once more.
1…2…kickout!
I caught Brie with a Dropkick. Once she gets up again, I lift her up in a Fireman's Carry position before hitting her with a Picture Perfect. I pin Brie yet again.
1…2…
Daniel pulls me off of Brie. He starts yelling at me, but I don't listen to him. I slap Daniel across the face. Brie grabs me and hits me with a Bella Buster. However, Randy sneaks in the ring behind Daniel before Brie can pin me and catches Daniel with the RKO. Since Brie is distracted by the RKO, I grab her while she's still distracted and hit her with the Chaotic Ending. Instead of pinning Brie, I grab her legs and lock in the Figure Four Leglock. Brie quickly taps out.
"Here are your winners, the team of Marissa and Randy Orton!"
I released the submission on Brie before standing up. Randy rushes over before pulling me into a kiss. I return the kissing, being in a great mood at the moment. Brie rolls out the ring, and Daniel grabs her as they walk up the ramp, both of them glaring at me and Randy.
I lean on Randy. "We should have that round tonight."
Randy holds me close. "Sounds like a plan to me. We need something to celebrate this."
