Danny was in his room, on his computer, trying to do history homework about the start of the Great Depression. All he had to do was give two paragraphs about the stock market crash of 1929. It was easy enough for Danny; he was halfway done with it when his phone started to buzz. He looked to see if it wasn't his friends or coworkers; it was someone else.

Thinking it was some random call or some weird hell spam call, Danny decided to ignore the call, but it kept coming in about six times.

That's it. Who's calling me? Danny thought

Danny was about to call the number when suddenly a dark red portal appeared in the middle; coming halfway through was Gloria, who had the most annoyed look.

"You know you picked up the phone, Danny," said Gloria

Danny had a panicked and scared look that combined. He had no idea what to do or how Gloria knew where he lived outside of hell.

"What are you doing here?" said Danny, who trying not to shout

"I need your assistance, Danny," said Gloria

"And how do you know where I live?"

"Now, Danny, I can't tell you how I know that you are half human and half demon living on Earth. That's a secret."

Danny stiffened up and asked, "Is this blackmail?"

"Um…maybe."

"That's not really an answer."

Then there was a knock on the door; it was his dad

"Danny, who are you talking to?" said Jack

"Just the classmate on speakerphone," said Danny

"Uh, huh, just keep it down."

"Alright dad." Danny heard his dad walk away from his door, and he turned back to Gloria. "Fine, I'll help you."

"Awesome sauce and by the way you are cute in your human form as your demon form."

Danny blushed and tried to ignore that comment as he went into the Gloria portal.

When he landed on the other side, the teen turned into his Demon form. Danny looked around in a creepy ranch that led to a large farmhouse on top of a hill where lava was coming out of the hill.

"Where are we, Gloria?" said Danny

"Right now, we're in the wraith ring and need help to get something from that mansion," said Gloria

Danny raised an eyebrow. "Which is?"

"My hat."

"Huh? Your hat?"

"You got me out here for a hat."

"Hey, it's not some ordinary hat."

Danny sighed. "How did it get stolen?"

"Yeah, I was doing a gig here. Some jackass took my hat, and he and some of his friends ran into that house."

"Why don't you do it by yourself? You're good with a gun and magic."

"I would, but my hat has tons of my weapons and fun stuff. I only got this." Gloria pulled out a combat knife, "and that won't do well in a one on six fight."

"And two on six sights is better?"

"Now you're getting it Danny-boy."

Danny sighed, "Fine, let's get this over with. I got homework to do, and I don't want my family to freak out when I'm gone."

"It'll be quick, I promise."

Danny and Gloria tried to walk up the hill they got shot at by a sniper in the second-floor window. They took cover behind a tree. Gloria smiled and threw the knife so far, she managed to kill the demon sniper.

"Now you don't have a weapon," said Danny

"No, but I do have you now blast the front door," said Gloria

Danny came out of cover and blasted a large beam of ice, freezing the front door until it broke into little ice cubes.

They heard a demon yelled, "What the fuck was that?"

Danny and Gloria rushed up the hill, and they made it into the house while a demon with a high-caliber rifle was asleep in a crappy and badly stitched chair. Gloria took the rifle and shot the demon in the head.

"Must be a heavy sleeper," said Gloria

An imp with an eyepatch and ugly gray cowboy boots wearing Gloria's hat was on the second-floor stairs.

"Damn bitch it's just a hat," said the eyepatch demon

"It's mine hat prick, now give back," said Gloria

"Fuck no…it's make feel something in important."

"You could always buy another hat," said Danny

"No, stealing is a lot more fun than shopping." The demon ran off

Danny and Gloria ran up the stairs in the middle of the hallway were two cowboy demons holding machetes.

"I Don't have time for this crap," said Danny

Danny blasted the two of them ice, and Gloria shot both of them in the head.

The two moved past them and saw the second bedroom door was slightly opened. Gloria and Danny walked into the room to see the imp hiding under the bed with a small pistol. Danny grabbed the imp and pulled him out under the bed.

"I'll take that," said Gloria, taking her hat back and putting it on top of her head

"Hey, you got your hat back how about letting me go," said the imp

"Sure," said Danny, dropping the imp to the ground

"One last thing here," Gloria reached down into her hat and pulled out a throwing knife, and threw the knife into the imp knee

"Fuck you fucking cunt."

"Time to go." Gloria snapped her finger, and a portal was made she grabbed Danny's hand, and they got into the portal.

The two end up in a living room that has a fireplace that was already lit with logs in it, pictures of casinos, and a skeleton head of a giant creature. Gloria stood up and dusted herself off Danny got up as well and he looked around.

"Where are we?" said Danny

"We're at my family house," said Gloria

"And is your family here?"

"No, they're long, and the only one living here is some weird rat."

"Alright, you got your hat now and can get back to my homework."

"Danny, I'm the girl of my word." Gloria made a portal, "Man, we're going to have so much together."

"I'm thrilled." said Danny in a down tone

"Don't worry, it won't be life and death." Gloria then kissed Danny on the cheek and pushed him into the portal. "See you later." The portal closed.

Danny landed in the middle of the bed, and there was a knock on the door. He got up and opened the door to see his sister Jazz, and she looked surprised.

"What?" said Danny

"Why is there a kiss mark on your check?" said Jazz

Danny blushed and quickly made up a lie, "You're seeing things. I got homework to finish; bye." Danny closed the door

I need to find a balance, Danny thought as he flopped to the ground with a big headache; he wished it would go away,
