Hey everyone I'm back, I'm sorry for the long break, I've been going through writer's block and needed to take a break from writing. But I've finally finished this chapter. I'll get into the reviews here real fast and then let you get to the story.

ReviewerPops chapter 6 . Sep 23

Hermione getting paid doesn't make sense. Like at all. The Weasleys though? Or at least Molly? That can track because they can easily set up a way for them to garner Crystal's favor and they are a known variable and could be paid for their Loyalty. On that note as this is a female Harry? Ginny getting paid doesn't make sense either seeing as how she isn't the one they're trying to marry to Crystal or make her be friends in the same grade level since Ron effectively would be doing both jobs. Hermione is also an unknown variable that would only be worth that kind of investment after becoming friends with Crystal. She's effectively a non entity from the start that they have no influence over, so why? I'm not saying you can't put in her into a spot she makes wrong decisions and ends up slightly bashed and not a friend as a result. But the over reaching is there and unnecessary. Unless of course your plan was for her parents to find out she did this (which they will when Goblins come to them for the extra money on the interest) and have them heavily punish her for it?

Also inconsistency you might want to fix. James is listed as alive in the thing from last chapter and having given up his rights. Yet here he's still talked about as though he was dead as a door nail. If they thought he was dead they'd be questioning why it says he's alive since they can see it right there and the only reason they'd be questioning his status as alive is because it means he hasn't gone to Gringotts in almost 10 years. Yet not what happens.

Me: Firstly thank you for all your reviews. Secondly, the reason why Hermione is getting paid will be revealed later in the story, there is a reason there.

Secondly, James is alive but everyone was so focused on the blocks and potions on Crystal that they didn't read that part. There's a reason why the Goblins at Gringgots don't realize he's alive either.

Tsukikageshi chapter 12. Sep 17

Hahaha. So do they clean the sorting hat?

Me: They're working on it at least, XD

Onto the story

Crystal lay on the bed in the room she had been taken to after the head lice incident last night. Since the teachers couldn't sort the rest of the students with a hat that was full of lice, they had to give the unsorted first years their own rooms.

The Professors also had the students who contracted the head lice stay in different rooms as well, this way no other students would contract it. From what Crystal had heard, the Professors were looking for a way to clean the hat since cleaning charms were refusing to work to get rid of the dirt and grime on it.

Crystal could have told them that, depending on when the hat was last cleaned it could take a dozen or more charms to clean it and even then it would be better to just clean it by hand. The charms wouldn't get rid of the head lice that lived in the hat after all.

Around fifteen minutes later there was a knock on the door and Crystal answered it, seeing the stern-looking Professor from the sorting standing there.

She was once again wearing emerald green robes with the pointed witch's hat. Crystal had to bite her tongue to hold back her sassy comment, she really wanted to tell this woman that Halloween was a few months away yet.

She might have spent too much time with Danny now that she thought of it.

She watched as the woman, Professor McGonagall's lips pursed when laying eyes on Crystal. It seemed like she was blaming Crystal for the events last night.

It wasn't Crystal's fault that no one had cleaned that hat for decades, if she hadn't said anything then no one would have noticed the lice and the entire school could have contracted it. So if anything, Crystal did a good thing by speaking up.

Didn't seem like the Professor thought so though as she started speaking to Crystal in a cold stern tone.

"Ms. Potter, I am to show you and your fellow students to the great hall for breakfast. Before we go I would like to ask what you were thinking last night when you caused the ruckus and delayed the sorting."

Crystal couldn't believe it, this Professor really was upset with her.

"With all due respect ma'am, if I had not said anything then people wouldn't have realized they had head lice, and that would have made it possible for it to spread to the rest of the students. By the time someone figured it out, no one would have known where the lice came from so the sorting hat wouldn't have been cleaned and the entire thing would have repeated itself next year," Crystal spoke, making sure to sound as calm and reasonable as she could.

She was annoyed when the Professor pursed her lips more at Crystal's answer.

"Be that as it may, next time listen to your Professors and do as told. If you have a problem then ask to speak to one of them in private, then explain your worries."

Crystal frowned, Did this Professor really just tell her that she had to do whatever a Professor said, even if it harmed her in some way?

"With all due respect ma'am, if I am told to do something that has a risk of harming me I will not do so. Speaking of harming me, when may I see the school nurse so I can let her know of any allergies I may have?" Crystal asked, making sure to distract the Professor with her question.

Why did the Professor seem surprised to be asked about the nurse? The Professors did take their students for a yearly checkup with the school nurse, right? RIGHT?

"Madam Pompfrey is the school's healer, you may go see her after you have finished your breakfast," Professor McGonagall said sternly, as if Crystal was going to run off right that second to go see the healer.

The Professor then turned and walked over to the rest of the first years, she made sure they were all there before leading the group to the great hall and gestured for them to take a seat at a small table that the Professors had clearly dragged out of storage.

Crystal winced when she sat down, the bench was made of cheap oak wood and she could feel splinters pierce her legs and thighs as she sat. The table had the same problem, it was clear no one had taken care of the tables and benches for years. No one even bothered to make sure they were safe to be used.

Crystal grabbed some bananas, strawberries, yogurt, and some pancakes on a solid gold plate. She was slightly horrified that the school was wasting so much money on stuff like this.

Before she could take a bite of her food she shuddered and gasped, a red mist floating out of her mouth. She had figured out early on that she was a fire-core ghost while Danny was an ice-core. She had learned how to control it thanks to Ember's help.

Ember didn't know much about Crystal, none of the ghosts did. This was to keep her safe from the fruit-loop that was still trying to marry Danny's mom.

Still, despite not knowing much about her, Ember still agreed to help teach her all she could about her fire core.

Crystal looked around sneakily and spotted a ghost watching her. The ghost was a pale pearly white and was slightly transparent, like the rest of the ghosts she had seen here. His eyes looked pitch black and his face was gaunt, like he had died after weeks of not eating enough food.

His robes were pale and seemed as if they were covered in bloodstains, the stains were a darker silver than the rest of him. His arms and upper body were wrapped in silvery transparent chains, seemingly acting as an anchor and chaining him to the living world despite being dead.

On his head was a curly powdered wig, the likes of which she had only seen in old Victoria paintings of men in power. He had a sword on his hip connected to his belt but Crystal couldn't tell you what kind it was.

She shuddered again slightly when she realized he was watching her, he didn't seem to be hostile, just curious. Crystal hoped he didn't realize what she was. She didn't know much about the magical world, but what she had found out so far showed her that hardly anyone would accept her as half alive and half dead.

She would be taken away and experimented on, something she refused to let happen.

She was a little upset that she didn't have a space where she could be herself, human and ghost. In the muggle world, she had to hide her ghost side, this was to keep her safe from ghost hunters. In the Ghost Zone, she had to hide her human side, this was to keep her safe from ghosts that would try to kill her or kidnap her for being a halfa.

And now, in the magical world, she once again had to hide one half of herself because otherwise she would be judged, kidnapped, and experimented on. She didn't care if the ghosts in this world were different, that just gave the people who lived in it more reason to experiment on her.

She ignored the ghost watching her as she finished her breakfast. As soon as she was done she stood up and walked up to one of the older-looking students and asked for directions to the Hospital wing.

Since the student was done eating he offered to show her the way, and Crystal happily accepted.

Looking at the student she noticed that he was a Hufflepuff, she hadn't even realized what house table she went to, to get help from.

The person leading her was male, he was tall with broad shoulders. He was a bit bulky but in a well-muscled kind of way. His face was chiseled and he had dark brown hair on the top of his head that was styled to frame his face perfectly. His eyes were a bright gray color, something that surprised Crystal.

She was assuming that magicals could have eye colors that normal non-magicals couldn't or didn't have as often. She had never seen a person with gray eyes in the non-magical world and now after entering it, she's met two people in two days who do.

"I'm sorry, I never asked for your name," Crystal spoke, feeling a bit embarrassed that she hadn't asked for this guy's name before.

Thankfully the older student just laughed, "I'm Cedric Diggery, nice to meet you, little lady."

Crystal smiled, "It's nice to meet you too, Diggery."

"You can call me Cedric," The guy, Cedric, winked at her. It wasn't in a weird way, it was clear that he was joking around to help her relax as he led her to the hospital wing.

"You can call me Crystal then," She responded.

"Mind me asking why you're visiting the hospital wing? You're not hurt are you?" Cedric's eyes, full of concern, roamed over her looking for any hidden injuries that Crystal might have had.

Crystal shook her head, "I'm not hurt, no, I just want to let her know about my allergies."

Cedric tilted his head, "Your allergies?"

Crystal nodded, her hair bouncing up and down slightly with her fast she nodded, "Yeah my allergies. I'm allergic to blood blossoms."

Cedric's eyes widened, "Wait Blood blossoms? Aren't those only supposed to hurt ghosts?"

Crystal silently panicked realizing she might have messed up before deciding to go with a half-truth, "They are but when I was little I was hurt by ectoplasm, it hasn't done anything besides make blood blossoms hurt me when I'm around them. I don't know if the school here uses the blossoms for anything so I want to let the nurse know ahead of time."

Cedric was shocked and a bit confused, "What's ectoplasm and how did it make blood blossoms hurt you?"

Crystal blinked at Cedric confused, did these people not know what ghosts were made of? At least ten ghosts were floating around the castle, eleven if you include the poltergeist she'd heard about.

"You know ectoplasm, the things ghosts are made of?"

"Wait, ghosts are made of this ectoplasm stuff?" It was clear Cedric was surprised.

Crystal nodded again, slower this time. "Yeah, they're made of ectoplasm, at least the ghosts I know of are."

"Wait, what do you mean you know of-" Cedric cut himself off as his eyes widened again, "How did you get in contact with ectoplasm in the muggle world?"

"You didn't actually think only magicals turned into ghosts did you?" Crystal raised an eyebrow with a small smirk, "There are muggle ghosts too."

Crystal laughed when she saw Cedric's jaw drop, "I'll admit I was surprised when I saw the ghosts here, they're so different from muggle ghosts."

"Can I ask how they're different?" Cedric asked after a few minutes of silence, he was shocked at what he was hearing. He would have to mention this to his dad.

"Well for one thing they're transparent all the time, the ghosts I know of from the muggle world are solid, sure they can turn transparent but that's only if they want to go through something." Crystal looked up at the sign to the hospital wing before looking at the shocked boy beside her.

"I'll tell you more another time if you want, I've hardly explained anything about muggle ghosts, I have to admit it's nice to talk about them without people judging me." Crystal gave Cedric a smile before walking into the hospital wing, silently hoping that he could make his way back to his friends when he was in shock like that.

Walking into the hospital wing Crystal noticed a woman standing in front of a shelf full of glass vials that were each full of a differently colored liquid. The woman had gray hair styled up into a bun. On her head was a white cloth that reminded Crystal of what she had seen nuns wearing. She wore a long-sleeved red dress with a white apron thing over it.

The woman's back was to her so Crystal used the time to take a look at the rest of the room. The room's walls were white, the same as the ceiling. The floor on the other hand was a light gray. There were eight beds in the room, four against the left wall and four against the right. The back of the room held a door that led, to what Crystal assumed, was the woman's office and probably her bedroom.

"Oh dear, someone hurt already? I swear one of these days I'm going to have a patient before the train even arrives." Crystal jumped when she heard the woman start to speak after noticing her. She hadn't realized the woman had turned around.

"Ma'am I'm not hurt, I'm just here to make sure my files show what I'm allergic to." She explained as soon as her heart calmed down.

The woman paused before nodding, "Well, that's much better than waiting to tell me until you wind up in one of these beds."

Crystal smiled, "I thought so too, ma'am," she paused before asking sheepishly, "Ma'am may I know your name please?"

The woman laughed before speaking, "I am Madam Poppy Pomfrey, the medi-witch for the school. Please call me Madam Pomfrey."

Crystal nodded, "Thank you Madam Pomfrey."

"Of course dear, now what are you allergic to?" Pomfrey asked while summoning some files, probably to update them with Crystal's allergy.

"I'm allergic to Blood Blossoms, I know they're only supposed to hurt ghosts but when I was younger I was in an accident and exposed to a lot of ectoplasm, the stuff that makes up ghosts, luckily the only thing that caused was me being affected by things that affect ghosts, other than that there were no other side effects," Crystal explained, hoping the media-witch fell for it.

Madam Pomfrey gasped, "Are you sure there are no other effects?"

Crystal paused, "Well, sometimes when I'm mad my eyes will glow slightly blue but other than that there's nothing, I was checked over several times over the years to be sure."

Madam Pomfrey pursed her lips together before nodding, "Alright, If you've already been checked over then I'll add this to your files. It's a good thing you let me know about this, a few of the potions we use have blood blossoms in them."

"Can you let my Professors know Madam Pomfrey? I don't want them to believe I'm lying." Crystal asked, she had a feeling if Madam Pomfrey didn't tell the Professors about her allergy and how she had it that no one would believe it.

"Yes, it might be better that I tell them, go on now you should go outside while the weather is still nice." Madam Pomfrey shooed Crystal out of the hospital wing before going to speak with the Headmaster to call a teacher's meeting.
