When I wake it's to the sight of Annie sitting in the chair reading a book.

"Hey Annie." I said.

"Hey Finnick. I'll be right back." Annie said, putting the book on the table and leaving the room.

When Annie returned, she had a few people from the hospital, one of whom was Katniss's mom, to check on me. After I was cleared, Scarlet and Zedo came in.

"Hi mom." I said.

"And you are?" Scarlet asked,

"I'm Annie Cresta." Annie said.

"It's Odair, Annie." I corrected.

"Opps, sorry. My name is Annie Odair." Annie said.

"When did you get married?" Scarlet asked.

"There was a propo celebrating their wedding like a week before the rebels invaded the Capitol." Zedo said.

"Knowing Snow, he didn't let mom see that particular video." I said.

"I'll talk to Plutarch about finding the video." Zedo said.

"The nurse said that you will be discharged today." Annie said.

"Sounds great." I said.

At that moment, a team of medical personnel came in and prepared me to be discharged.

Two hours later, I was wheeled out the front doors of the hospital to a waiting car. The car took Annie and I to an airfield where a hovercraft would take us back to District 4.

S.D.D.

One year has passed since I was released from the hospital, and a lot has happened since that day. Namely, nine months after we left Annie gave birth to our son: Zepto Odair. After our son was born, maybe even before he was born, I spent a lot of time at the ocean shore staring out at the horizon, even pining about it. I think about what lies beyond the shores of Panem. One thing I wasn't expecting was what happened next. One day I was at the beach with Annie and Zepto, and I was brought of my reverie when I heard.

"Finnick!"

I shake my head to see Mom and Dad on a little boat.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"A little birdie told us that you've been wanting to leave these lands and venture out." Scarlet said.

"Nice one Annie, only problem is that little thing isn't going to cut." I said, and then leaned over and kissed Annie on her cheek.

"We've that covered. Get in." Zedo said.

I stand up, take Zepto from Annie, and then offer my hand to Annie. She took my hand, and I pulled Annie into a stand position. We walked into the ocean, towards the small boat that Zedo and Scarlet were sitting in.

"Zepto, meet your grandparents." I said, handing Zepto off to Scarlet. While Scarlet was fawning over Zepto, I lifted Annie out of the water and placed her in the boat next to Scarlet. I climbed in the back next to Zedo.

"My grandchild's name is Zepto." Zedo asked.

"Shut up." I said, exasperated.

"I mean, I'm flattered that you chose to give your child a name that is close to mine." Zedo said.

"That's all you had to say." I said, shaking my head.

The conversation we had as we made our way out to the ship that was going to take us to our destination was congenial, but nothing of substance was discussed. I looked up to see the ship, and my mouth went slack and dropped.

"Close your mouth. Are you trying to catch a fly?" Scarlet said, reaching back to close my mouth.

"Where was Snow hiding this ole girl?" I asked.

"He was hiding it west of District 4. Once Annie said that you were longing for the sea, I figured this was the perfect time to take it out." Zedo said.

Zedo positioned the boat so that it could be hooked up to some contraption. A contraption that, when the boat was hooked up, it was a hoist to pull the boat up to the deck of the ship. It took about a minute to a minute and a half trip from the water to the deck. Zedo stepped off of the boat, and helped Scarlet, Annie, and me onto the ship. Scarlet and Zedo showed Annie and I around the ship.

We eat a meal, take a shower, and pull on a fresh set of clothes. Zedo and I made our way up to the up to the bridge. I watched as Zedo turned the engine on, and it roared to life. I watched as he entered something into the console, and then he asked. "Where to?"

"Anywhere but here." I said.

I watched as Zedo pushed a handle forward, and the ship moved forward. I felt the ship move to the right and head south. I'm not sure where we are headed, but it can't be any worse than what we left behind. I exit the bridge and step out to watch as the sun started to set. I greeted the closing of one chapter of my life, and the beginning of the next chapter with a smile.
