Welcome back to The Injustice Wars. Last time, Blaze brought her team down to Atlantis and they ended up splitting up. Blaze ended up with Spyro, Cynder, and Belial Aether going to confront Darkblood, who's already here and fighting Aquaman. Meanwhile, Batman, Flash, and Green Arrow ended up staying behind to face the corrupted Doctor Fate. That doesn't sound like suicide at all. So, how is this going to go? Read on to discover...

(Our scene opens back in Aquaman's throne room, where Darkblood and Aquaman are continuing to fight. And Aquaman, he isn't looking too good, while Darkblood looks smug as heck)

Darkblood: Do you yield, King of Atlantis?

Aquaman: (Spitting out blood, a tooth, and maybe a chunk of his tongue) I never yield.

Darkblood: Good. Then I'm going to enjoy this.

(Without a moment's hesitation, Darkblood rushes at Aquaman, and before the king of Atlantis can react, Darkblood bites off his hand, causing him to drop his trident and recoil in pain while Darkblood spits out the hand)

Darkblood: Whatever made your hand taste like soy sauce, you really need to stop doing it.

(As Aquaman tries to stem the bleeding from where his hand used to be, Darkblood can only laugh at the thought of the pain his adversary is in. And that's when Blaze and company burst in)

Darkblood: (Seeing Blaze has arrived) Ah, I had a feeling you'd arrive, my little dreamsicle. (Sees Spyro and Cynder are with her) And you brought the family! Surprised you didn't try to bring the rest of the Element Guard here. But at least the important people have made it to see me take my revenge on... ah, but you know what I mean.

Blaze: Your little rampage ends here.

Darkblood: What, no witty repartee? I swear this war has taken all the fun out of you, my beloved.

Blaze: Drago, I know you're in there somewhere, and you know this isn't right!

Darkblood: Oh don't act like you don't want to see the guppy here suffer for what he did. Heck, I'd feel confident in saying you considered doing this yourself!

Spyro: Son, you have to stop this!

Darkblood: Dragnarok is gone, old man. Darkblood remains!

Cynder: We've faced this darkness before, son. You can still come back!

Darkblood: (Now getting pissed off) Quit trying to appeal to the dead!

(At this point, Blaze notices something in Darkblood's eyes. Something she hasn't seen in a long time. And on seeing it, we briefly flash back to the first Injustice War, where Dragnarok is working on something when Blaze storms in the room and pretty much flops down onto a pile of cushions in the corner, which Dragnarok immediately notices)

Dragnarok: Blaze? Is everything okay?

Blaze: (Not even looking at him with how angry she is) What do you think?

Dragnarok: Does this have something to do with that call in Nairobi?

Blaze: Please, Drago, I don't want to talk about it. If it weren't for Etrigan, I wouldn't have made it out of Fate's little death crusade.

Dragnarok: Fair enough. I won't ask. (Sits down next to and throws a comforting wing over her) But, is there something I can do?

Blaze: (Looking up through tear-stained eyes, seeing something in his eyes, and then laying her head on his shoulder) Just stay with me. I need to know that somebody won't abandon me.

Dragnarok: (Looking deeply into her eyes) I don't know what Fate did, but rest assured of this, my little dreamsicle, I would never abandon you. Not even in death.

(And now we see what Blaze saw at last: a sparkle in the back of Dragnarok's eyes. It's unclear what causes it, but it's there. And in that moment, we return to the present day, where that's exactly what Blaze sees in Darkblood's eyes, that same sparkle. It's fainter than when Dragnarok was dominant, but it's there, small but returning)

Blaze: (Mentally) I can't believe this is working! We might just be able to pull Drago out of him yet! (Whispered to Belial Aether) This is going to sound like a weird question, but can you sense what I'm sensing?

Belial Aether: (Whispered) If you mean that his soul is somehow splitting in two, then yes, yes I can.

Blaze: If you can see it, can you coax one out?

Belial Aether: While I can command souls, it's not something I choose to do.

Blaze: It would only take a moment.

Belial Aether: Absolutely not. I can let you know if your plan here is working, but not much more.

Blaze: It'll have to do.

Darkblood: Enough of this distraction. (Flares his wings as a sign of dominance) PREPARE TO DIE!

Blaze: Everybody stick to the plan. We're trying to pull Drago out of this thing. No lethal shots.

Belial Aether: I make no promises!

Blaze: Then in that case, go stitch the fish back up.

Aquaman: I'm right here, you know!

Belial Aether: I'll see what I can do.

(As Belial Aether rushes to see if he can reattach Aquaman's hand, despite the King of Atlantis fighting him at every turn, the four dragons rush into battle against each other, ending our tale for today)

And that looks like a good place to wrap up for today. So, for the first time in a long time, we've got a flashback to the first Injustice War. Been a while since we had one of those, hasn't it? And at least this one was more substantial than the last one. So, it looks like Blaze's plan is slowly working, they might be able to pull Dragnarok out of Darkblood after all! Well, will they? Or is Dragnarok buried too far deep in this being of pure evil? Tune in next time to start finding out! Same time... same channel!
