Welcome back! This is an update far earlier than I initially anticipated. I guess that is good for both you viewers and me. Before I totally get into my spiel, I should thank the increase in viewership, reviews, follows, and favorites for this story. It is growing more than I thought it would, and I guess I should take that I have a good audience, and that I am doing a good job.
Anyways, this chapter is a little sooner because it is a bit shorter (being just under 6.3K words, so not entirely short). I did this because the initial content was going to take well over 10K words, maybe up to 14-15K words, if I didn't split the story. I wanted to make it easier to digest, and the discord group that I ask questions to hinted at me splitting the releases would be the preferred option instead of bulk. If this disappoints you, I am sorry.
This chapter does contain the content around Spring Broken. Some shit will be very familiar, other conversations/events will happen at different times and places. I kind of just wrote what I thought would fit well. Other than that, I do my best to twist the content to fit the story. It is a test to see if familiar content pleases you guys, or it it doesn't. Other than that, it is what it is.
Now, I guess I should get to answering guest reviews. There were a lot from last chapter, and a lot of it directed at different reviews. Please, by all means, have discussions with one another. I am able to gauge what you guys want based on that, and I have no problem with you responding to one another. I will also have to re-answer some parts in this, so I will note where you can find my response.
Tyler432 (Guest): Great chapter nice work
Response: Thanks, I do my best.
Guest #1: To Boss Teal, I'm not 100% sure.
To the fans of Helluva Boss, I know this may get me dragged out and beaten with baseball bats, but Blitzo was always my least favorite character. Probably due to the fact his mannerisms make me want to deck him. Also, it made me uncomfortable that they made Stella (Who won't be winning wife of the year awards, by the way!) a massive wretch just to give Stolas an out of his affair with Blitzo. Also also, Stolas, your daughter ran away from home in Season 2 Episode 2! Shouldn't you be looking for her instead of watching stand-up featuring your living toy?!
Also also also, the show itself is pretty solid, even with some of the criticism being valid. Though with the missing episode, we are missing some major pieces to the puzzle. I hope you can understand the tangent.
Response: Sometimes those characters that get you to react in that sort of way can be pretty good. These characters do act in very blunt ways to show that they aren't perfect, especially being from Hell. It does feel like they make mistakes over and over, like in Stolas's case. It is a good show, don't know much about the missing episode, so to anyone who knows the synopsis, I can try and fill that void with my own chapter if it fits the content well. Obviously I would make changes so no one would act out of character at that point in my story.
Guest #2: First of all, the guest who reviewed this chapter: I speak to the fan-base to please don't take action against him. He's free to express his opinion, we promise to tolerate it.
Second, I figured now's as good a time as ever to rank the Helluva Boss characters from Best to Worst (in my humble opinion.). Please understand this is not fact and not to stir up trouble!
1. Moxxie: ...
2. Loona- ...
3. Millie: ...
4. Stolas- ...
5. Blitzo: ...
Okay, I got all that off my chest, I hope you can see my perspective on this matter, and I wish you the best with your writing! Be happy and may good fortune be with you!
(Please, check the comment if you wish to read reasoning as I won't post the entire comment here)
Response: I can't really say that I have an obvious favorite character. They either don't have much details about them thus far, or they just aren't entirely appealing to me. I do have to say that I enjoy Millie's fire, though. She is a fun side character thus far. I also like your reasoning behind Moxxie (I know Richard Horvitz from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and that is what I sort of associate his voice acting to). Stolas's development does regress here and there, which some people I have spoken to find annoying. It doesn't exactly make sense for what Vivziepop might be trying to achieve, but I might try and make it work to some regard here.
A theme of this story might be how people, or demons, have the power to change their lives, but they always sink back into their sins and repeat mistakes over and over. That is free will, but we end up caging ourselves nonetheless. Sometimes it takes serious consequence or dilemma to inforce change. Still working it out, but that is the gist. I should move on now.
Guest #3: No harem please. Only loona please
Response: Don't fret over that too much. I don't have plans at the moment for any harem. It stifles character/relationship growth in my mind. I would only do like the occasional threesome if anything at all, and that will be tied to character growth and it there wouldn't be a 3rd wheel to the overall relationship even then. As for only Loona: Yeah, that is my intent.
ReadingBeta (Guest): Loona being a girlfriend n sex partner, confirm. Please don't go with Verosika. She's as bitchy as Fizzo. Not to mention so used. Sexual terms. She pretty much deserves to deal with the cops for that fiasco she caused. Hope meeting with Stella can lead to something productive. Royal milfs r one of my favourite. Update me.
Response: Yep, pretty much confirmed. I haven't paired them in the description of the title since we aren't that far along yet. Still, should be an easy guess. As for Verosika, there is flirting and whatnot in this chapter because she is a succubus, and he is human. She will be a recurring character in the story, and interest in the OC will continue and grow a little. Will she be in a relationship with him? Very unlikely, and she would require major development to get to that point. Stella is a much harder sell since she would require a major character overhaul. Also, I don't know how much she will be involved in this story. She will debut in Chapter 7, probably. Very minor role, but will exist. As for your reasoning for wanting her, some respect there.
ZILLAFAN (Guest): Make Kyle at least as big as Vortex. Just asking.
Response: Vortex is a big motherfucker. Plus, power doesn't derive from size. Well, not in how I will develop the OC. I appreciate your request, and I thought about it shortly, but I think the OC's size is large enough. Plus, I am kind of reusing Kyle for this story from Finding Balance, and I believe his height was about 6'. Other than backstory, his character is the same.
Guest #4 (Responding Guest): To ReadingBeta, I fully understand your opinion, just please understand mine in regards to Verosika Mayday. Besides, she's still one of my favorite characters in the show!
Response: Respect is given, I am sure. People will have different opinions on the matter. Again, she isn't a bad character, but I don't think there is much out there about her yet other than she is famous and a bit of a diva. Not much depth yet, and there might never be. It makes it interest (hard or easy depending on the view) for me in trying to portray her.
Guest #5: Personally, Kyle potentially having a harem with Loona, Verosika, and Stella (Optional, by the way.) may have some merit. Ultimately, the decision of the characters, writing, and relationships falls to the writer's decisions, and as the audience, we follow the story as it comes out.
Response: Respect the opinion and for your willingness to put it out there. I have given my reasons for why I am against a harem up above if you wish to read about them. Additionally, for your idea, I don't know how cohesive a harem with those four would be. Seems like a FUCK TON of squabbling between them. Unless there is MASSIVE support for a harem, likely won't happen. Thank you for your understanding, but still sorry if that disappoints.
Guest #6: I think the guest on the 11th is a little more used to Tvfan2244's fan fiction A Loud Among Demon's style of a filler chapter between story chapters.
Guest on the 11th: I'm already looking forward to Spring Broken (Guess that'll be chapter 5?)! Though I can't wait to see your work on the original chapter 4, I'm ecstatic either way. Though I can't wait Verosika and her posse (especially the former) getting stars in their eyes to see Kyle. Though I'm not sure how Stella's first meeting with Kyle will go when they meet in person.
P.S:Not that I'm a shipper, but could you make this a harem story (Loona X Original Character X Verosika)?
Response: Never heard of it, but linked the reviews for others to see. I assume it has harems based on the review. Still, no judgement either way from me. I am just unsure about making a harem in this story. Might take away from, well, the story. What do I know...
End of Reviews: Fuck that was a lot of guest reviews. I kind of want you Guests to make accounts so that I can just directly message back responses to you lot. I will continue to do this, though, since I don't leave you all hanging without a response. Enought about this.
Now, onto Chapter 5!
Chapter 5: Spring Broken Pt. 1 (The Bet)
There wasn't ever really a calm morning when living in Hell. Even as I walked down the street with minimal contact with the denizens of Hell, the sounds of honking horns and the loud urban environment made it impossible to just enjoy my walk. At least I lived somewhat close to the office compared to the others of I.M.P. Instead, they usually road together in Blitzo's piece-of-shit van in the morning where I would then meet them outside.
I could see the building only a block away once the said van of my 'boss' drove to the other end of the street from me before peering into the usual parking lot. It was like I had seen many times before marking yet another day that would be the same as the rest. Blitzo yelling at me for not doing anything for his business, Moxxie and Millie saying I will come into it slowly, and Loona ignoring the entire argument. Yep, that sounds exactly like what I should expect for the day.
When I rounded the corner of the building toward the parking lot, there was a change from the usual. Blitzo's van braked very hard once a pink convertible peeled out in front of him and took his usual spot. I could already tell that a fight was bound to start up about that parking spot. It seemed like the usual type of petty arguing that Blitzo would get involved with.
I seemed to be correct once Blitzo jumped out of his van and stomped his way over to the convertible. His face was redder than it usually was as his pupils were narrowed into slits. He fumed, "You cum-guzzling party slut! You have five seconds to move your rag top out of my spot before I split your head open!"
The driver's door opened and a scantily dressed, generously figured demon that just screamed 'nymphomaniac' got out. In my current position, I could see the violently pink skin and heart sunglasses she was wearing. I was definitely looking at my first succubus. I wasn't sure what to expect from her, but it wasn't exactly what I was looking at. Hell tends to subvert my expectations constantly. By the looks of it, she wasn't happy to be yelled at.
Blitzo's furious expression dropped before he said, "Ahh, shit. Verosika?!"
Getting curious, I approached the van while everyone else stayed inside. I could see Loona's expression turn to one of complete shock as she looked at Verosika. They seemed to stay out of the argument, and I didn't plan on getting involved at all either.
Verosika sneered back, "Of course, it's you, Blitzo. Only you would drive a clown car." She makes a fake gasp before she added a rhetorical question, "Wait! Did you end up stealing that from the circus you were rejected from?"
This seemed to only bring Blitzo back into anger. He tripped over his own feet as he retorted, "Oh, yeah! Did rehab do you any good? I guess not since I can see the Beelzejuice bottle still firmly in your whore grasp."
The succubus smirked back at him, "Who needs rehab when you are as famous as me? They realized that and let me go. I can't say the same about your sister."
This elicited a growl from the imp as he marched up to her. He seemed done with the small talk as he got right down to business. He shouted, "This is the only parking spot that my company gets, so get your tampon racecar out of my spot!"
While the two continued to yell at one another, I approached the side of Blitzo's van without drawing their attention. I opened the sliding door for both Moxxie and Millie. Loona opened her door without her eyes leaving the girl Blitzo was fighting with. They all seemed to remain silent as Blitzo was denied his spot because of the succubus being here for the week.
I asked them, "Uhh, what is this all about?"
Millie plopped herself to the ground while watching them curiously. She replied, "I don't know. It seems like Verosika Mayday took our company spot."
I scratched my head in confusion before Moxxie added, "I don't understand how they know each other, to be honest. I mean, she is a famous pop star while he is… that." Moxxie motioned to Blitzo while the two continued to argue.
I scratched my head in confusion, "Uhh, that helped a little, but who is she?"
Loona looked at me with surprise, "You don't know who Verosika Mayday is?!"
I shook my head before saying, "Should I? It isn't like I have gotten too much in the pop culture you guys have here."
Millie replied, "Well, she is a famous pop star in the living world as well. You are telling me you have never heard of Verosika Mayday?"
With a shrug, I said, "I lived in a pretty secluded place, and I was in the military before that. Not exactly a lot of time for me to keep up with the happenings of the world."
There was about to be a response from Moxxie, but my attention was drawn to the rather large figure approaching Blitzo from behind. I walked up with the other three following behind me when they saw that Verosika's and Blitzo's fight could become messier than it already was.
I could hear Blitzo say, "Move, or I will-" He felt the large figure bump into him causing him to turn around. He was looking at a growling male Hellhound that was easily taller than Loona and me. He had one scarred eye, tattoos on his arms, and gray schemes fur. He was an imposing figure, especially compared to Blitzo.
The Hellhound growled out, "Move or what?"
"Uhh…" Blitzo was lost in thought as he tried to come up with the words. He then searched around his body for any type of weapon to come up with nothing. He mumbled under his breath, "I guess my gun is in my other coat."
The Hellhound stated deeply, "Trust me, pal, that wouldn't do you any good." The Hellhound then walked past him to stand by the succubus.
Verosika stated, "Looks like you have met my new Hellhound, Vortex." She leaned forward and spit out at Blitzo, "He is actually dependable, unlike you, midget bitch."
Blitzo just snarked back, "Yeah, well, meet my team! They are twice as good as your Hellhound!"
Verosika's pink eyes looked over toward us and went down the line of each employee. She first gazed upon Millie and Moxxie. She scoffed, "More Imps for your failing murder business, typical."
Blitzo spat back, "Yeah, coming from a whore who employed more whores to follow her around and do nothing but flick the bean and suck some cock! Oh, and I guess one Hellhound to watch it all happen."
Vortex growled in response while glaring down at Blitzo while Verosika sneered and rolled her eyes. She then looked up and down at Loona's nervous form. I could see that Loona was nervously glancing at Verosika, but she was also looking heavily at Vortex. I let out a small, amused huff at this. That was until Verosika snarked, "Of course, you would get yourself a Hellhound. What? Couldn't take being a miserable sack of shit alone?"
Blitzo scoffed back, "Like you are one to talk, succubitch. You scare every guy away with that flytrap you call a pussy."
That got a bit of Verosika's ire as she glared icily back at Blitzo who continued to pump his middle fingers her way. She then moved on from looking at Loona to looking at me. She traced my form slowly as if she were staring right through my clothes at my nude form. I became a little more nervous when her tight gaze relaxed into one that was more seductive. She walked up slowly with the sway of her hips before getting a good look at my face. When she reached for my face, I grabbed her wrist.
A growl was met with my action by Vortex. I ungripped her wrist to show that I wasn't threatening, and then I lightly redirected her arm. I responded politely, "Please, don't."
She only smiled back at me, "Oh, playing hard to get." She seemed to take a deep breath in as if she were smelling the air around me before smiling back at me. She seductively stated, "You are different from the rest. Just how did Blitzo find someone as unique as you?" She then placed her hand on my chest while glancing back at Blitzo to make sure he was watching. When I looked, he was practically fuming. She then said, "How about you come over to my office later today for a little fun? I would like to get to know you a little more. How does that sound?"
I was sort of put off by her insinuation, especially knowing what she was. I looked over to see Moxxie was uncomfortable, Millie was smiling over at me, Blitzo giving me a look that would kill if it could, and Loona's unimpressed expression with her arms crossed. I looked back at Verosika before saying. I responded politely, "Sorry, but I am going to have to decline."
The succubus seemed greatly surprised before giving me a smirk. She then said, "Perhaps some other time, then?"
Blitzo roared out, "Take a hint, you dumb bitch?! Kyle could smell the sea between your legs, and he could tell that you are a frigid-cold cunt! Now get the FUCK out of here after you move your shitty car!"
Verosika simply released a 'pfft' in response to the Imp before she swiped her hand across my chest before she leaned away and turned to look at him. She then said, "The spot is mine for the week, dipshit." She and Vortex then began to head to the door of the building. She responded, "I have better things to do than to argue with you. Ta-ta, fuck stain."
When they were both gone, Blitzo pouted, "I am going to get my parking spot back if it is the last thing I do." He then turned to the rest of us before saying, "Way to have my back, back there, assholes."
Millie then questioned, "What did you want us to do? That was Verosika Mayday!"
Loona asked, "Just how do you know Verosika Mayday!"
"Huh?" He then folded his arms before saying dismissively, "Oh, we dated way back."
A snort came from Moxxie before he said, "You dating Verosika Mayday?! You shouldn't even be in the same gene pool as her. So, I find that hard to believe, sir."
Blitzo didn't seem happy with that response, "Yeah, well, it happened, and she was a raging bitch the entire time." He then looked over to the rest of the group to see that they had disbelieving looks. He then asked, "What? What about that is believable to you?"
Loona scoffed, "It's not just me, is it? She is Verosika Mayday, the famous pop star."
Millie then said, "And you are you…"
Moxxie pointed out, "Yeah, I am with them. I just don't see any feasible reality in which that would work. It must be some joke."
Blitzo stated, "Actually, a joke would be that small pecker you have between your legs." Blitzo then walked over to me before pointing up to me, "I now see that I only have one of you on my side." He smirked, "To see her surprised bitch face when you rejected her was the best… Wait! How were you able to resist her seduction? Humans are always turned into horny freaks whenever she talks with them. She even laid her skanky fingers on you."
This confused everyone for a moment as they turned to look at me. I pinched the bridge of my nose in irritation before pointing out the mark on my wrist. They all seemed to get the message, and I said, "I didn't even know she was using any influence over me. I don't know what she saw to act all seductive, but I don't want to reciprocate."
Millie, Moxxie, and Blitzo looked at me with confusion. On the other hand, Loona seemed to understand on a deeper level why I didn't want anything. I could tell by how she avoided my gaze with her ears drooping a little. Things had been a little distant between us since that conversation. Our trip to the clinic a week ago had brought up a lot of memories, and I needed to deal with them alone.
Millie then asked, "What? Are you are saying that you don't want to have sex with all of that? I call you a liar if you are saying that because I would want to have sex with that."
Moxxie looked at her with shock, "Millie?!"
She just shrugged, "I shouldn't be the only one who wants that, Mox. I mean, did you get a look at her?"
Blitzo then responded with irritation while ignoring the conversation about his ex, "She probably could smell your soft-skinned humanity under that little disguise. It is interesting since she doesn't usually reserve any interest in humans. Seems like Stolas was a little shotty in his craftsmanship with your ring." He then clapped his hands together happily, "It is good that she isn't messing with your mushy brain at all. I will probably need you if I am going to get my spot back from that whore. In the meantime, why don't you find my van a spot, Millie." He threw his keys to Millie who then happily trotted to the van.
I shook my head, "I don't know why you are so stubborn about it. It is just a spot, and it sounds like your ex has had it for a week. Just suck it up until then."
Blitzo mumbled, "I guess I can tell you never dated anyone." This elicited a guttural growl from me. I felt like wringing his neck, but I held back. He added, "That spot is more than a place I park my van. It is the spot I picked when I started my dream of going to the human world for contracted murder." He wiped away a fake tear before he pointed to three out of the four of us, "Moxxie, Loony, Kyle, go up to the office. I have shit to check."
Moxxie walked ahead of Loona and me as we headed into the building and to the elevator. The Hellhound seemed rather distant in thought. I asked, "What's on your mind?"
She flicked her ear toward my direction and then looked at me. She cocked a brow before saying, "Huh? Oh, nothing…"
Without wasting time, Loona pulled out a compact cosmetic mirror with worry on her face as she adjusted her looks. It didn't take a genius to connect the dots about what she was so worried about. I chuckled, "Nothing, huh? Are you sure you are not on edge because of Verosika, or more specifically that Hellhound Vortex?"
A blush formed on her cheeks before she clicked her mirror closed. She avoided looking at me with embarrassment. I then said, "Hey, I am not Blitz. I am not going to make a big deal about it or try and sabotage you."
She let out a small groan, "Ugh, fine! Yes, I am worried because of him. Ever since I got that treatment, I feel like I have been given another chance. I feel like seeing him here has given me another shot for something…"
I rubbed my jaw in thought before saying, "I see… Well, that does put it into perspective then. You do have a week to work something out. So, relax on your makeup and looks to focus on that." I added slyly, "Plus, you already look beautiful. You just need to break down this mental image of yourself versus him."
Loona's eyes went wide before she blushed a little more. She began to brush her hair awkwardly, "Uhh, yeah. I guess I will try and do that."
As the three of us entered the elevator, another thought popped into my head. This seemed like a good enough place to open up a little, so I did. I turned to her and spoke softly, "I also wanted to say that I am sorry for being a little distant over this last week. Our little trip brought up some memories that I thought I had dealt with. I just didn't want to bring you into that."
"I understand better than anyone not wanting to be bothered when you are dealing with your own shit. Don't worry about apologizing about it." I smiled back at Loona's response before giving her a nod.
Moxxie asked, "You guys took a trip."
Loona growled out, "Why don't you mind your own fucking business, fatty!"
Moxxie's eyes went wide toward us before he faced forward once again. He didn't reply, so I did with a much calmer voice, "Yes, we did. The details of which aren't important."
It seemed like the Imp dropped it figuring out that it wasn't his business to dig into Loona's. We only had a second of silence before the elevator dinged and opened the door. There was an immediate change that I noticed to the floor the office was on. The I.M.P. office was on one side of the hall, and there was an eyesore of neon and a large tinted window on the other. There was a giant 'V' and 'M' painted on the door giving me an idea of who was taking that space. The only confirming factor the succubus set up shot across the hall was the fact that Vortex was standing out in the hall.
I let out a small snort of amusement, "Oh, Blitz isn't going to be happy about this. Not one bit."
Instead of laughing it off with me, Loona became rigid once again by my side. It was almost as if none of the calming her down before had any sway over her actions now. Instead, she began trying to fix whatever she viewed as imperfections on her. I let out an exacerbated sigh at the sight.
I then forward again before deciding to strike up a conversation with Verosika's bodyguard. I walked up with Loona getting surprised before becoming increasingly nervous. This was a complete change from what I was used to from the female Hellhound.
I walked up to Vortex before striking up confidently, "So, you are Verosika's bodyguard… Vortex, was it?"
I extended my hand in an offer to shake. This seemed to confuse the Hellhound as he raised the brow of his undamaged eye. He seemed put off by my casual greeting. I guess this makes some sense by how Loona talked about how Hellhounds are viewed as a part of the lowest class of Hell along with the Imps. In some ways, they were treated as lower.
After a second or two, a larger grasp surrounded my hand. It was a tight handshake, but nothing unbearable. He greeted surprisingly friendly, "Uhh, hey there. Yeah, the name is Vortex. You're Kyle, right?"
I was taken off guard by his knowing my name until I realized that it must have come up at least once during the conversation. I nodded, "Yeah, it is. I guess that little exchange between your boss and mine got a little heated."
He let out small chuckles before saying, "I guess it did, didn't it? It sounds like their beef, not mine. They should've handled it without me getting involved."
"Yeah, but I guess Blitz is a little too… passionate for him to reasonably handle anything," I folded my arms.
The larger Hellhound nodded, "You can say that again."
I noticed that Loona was standing rather cutely behind me, her eyes somewhat wide and her tail wagging. I couldn't believe that I forgot what I was trying to do here. Without her being able to know what I was doing, I grabbed her by the wrist before pulling her into a one-armed hug. I spoke, "Oh, I guess I forgot to introduce you to Loona."
The Hellhound perked up, "Oh? I guess it is nice to meet you, too."
I let go of Loona as she spoke as awkwardly as possible, "Hey… I'm Loona." She then realized that she was already making mistakes as she said, "Which he already said…"
She began to bite her lip with a nervous look on her face. Regardless of her demeanor, Vortex responded nicely, "Yeah, right… Well, I guess I should let you know that my name is Vortex."
"That's hot…," Loona mumbled. I pinched the bridge of my nose in cringe while Vortex didn't show any reaction to her words. She quickly reacted, "I-I mean that literally. Like vortexes, you know, from space. They are hot and give off heat..."
The male Hellhound let out a chuckle, "Yeah, I guess that is true."
Just when Loona was going to speak again, Moxxie cleared his throat, "Well, it has been found that quasars, because of the friction of gases and particles, are some of the hottest objects in the Universe. If you count that as a vortex, then I suppose your statement would be-"
Loona spoke through gritted teeth, "Moxxie, shut the fuck up."
Loona then turned back to look at Vortex and let out a nervous chuckle. She was about to talk again, but the sound of cheering and music broke through the wall from Verosika's work area. Our attentions were soon on that, and not so much on the current awkward discussion.
I looked through the window to see the forms of all the succubus and what I presumed incubus demons having fun. I asked, "So, why are you standing out in the hallway instead of with them? Aren't you a part of her organization or something like that?"
He let out a small sigh before saying, "I am Verosika's bodyguard. She wanted me to stay out here as a lookout."
I crossed my arms with a cocked brow, "That doesn't seem to be fair."
The Hellhound looked surprised, "Fair?"
I nodded, "Well, yeah. You are employed by her, but that doesn't mean there should be that kind of distance between you two. Are you two not friends?"
A chuckle escaped from Vortex who tried to hold it together. Even Loona managed a smile, but I believe it was more directed toward the other Hellhound. Vortex managed to collect himself enough to respond, "Yeah, that's a good one. A succubus being friends with a Hellhound." He chuckled a few more times before he noticed my confused look, "Wait, you're serious?"
I shrugged, "Well, yeah, I guess. Is that a weird question?"
Vortex nodded, "Yeah, it is a pretty weird question, pal. Beyond serving as a bodyguard, I don't care to befriend her as much as she wouldn't dare befriend me. I don't get paid enough to do anything outside of my job description, and she has an image she wants to keep."
Loona nervously nodded her head while peaking glances at Vortex. She responded, "H-He's right. There is basically no denizen of Hell that acts outside of their 'group'. When you talk so casually and nicely with me, Vortex, and even Blitz, Millie, and Moxxie, it is surprising. Hell's systems are fucked up and not as simple as talking with anyone you want."
"This girl's got it right." Vortex pointed to Loona and caused her to shyly look away. He continued, "It is weird that you don't know that…" I was partially sweating bullets at his insinuation while Loona's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of her head. He then continued, "Your family must have kept you isolated, huh? Then they must have forced you to take a job with lowly Imps as some form of punishment."
I breathed out a sigh of relief. I decided to go along with it as I responded, "Yeah, I guess I have been isolated some. I don't think I would call this quite a 'punishment'. There have been good moments." I smirked over at Loona while she couldn't help but respond in a lesser kind.
Vortex chuckled, "You are kind of an odd demon, man. I would even say that your name fits a little better with humans, but who am I to judge? I would say that you are alright, though."
Loona seemed to release a few awkward and forced chuckles, "Yeah, right!" She then seemed to approach a little closer to the Hellhound. I understood that she wanted to connect with him, and I was fully alright to leave them be. She then said, "So,-"
Before she could say anything else, the elevator doors at the end of the hall opened up with an angry Blitzo and smiling Millie emerging from it. Blitzo was yelling to himself, "What the fuck is with all of the junk mail! I swear I am going to shove these letters right up the asses of-"
Blitzo's gaze soon traced up and found their way to Vortex and Loona. His eyes went wide before he yelled, "What the fuck is going on here!" His eyes then moved to look at Verosika's makeshift studio room. He threw the mail on the ground before he yelled, "No fucking way am I working across from that snake! This ends now!"
He marched right up to the 'V' and 'M' doors while Vortex moved to try and intercept him. Despite the Hellhound's efforts, Blitzo managed to squeeze by and kick the door open with a loud bang. Vortex quickly moved to the side where Verosika and her posse sat around. They all looked with surprise at the intruder, soon intruders once Loona and I followed by Moxxie and Millie entered the room. Verosika's eyes then narrowed at the Imp boss.
Blitzo yelled out, "ALRIGHT, FUCKERS! I have had ENOUGH! First, you take my parking spot, and now you have the fucking nerve to invade my office space with your shitty music and lights more befitting of the red-light district. If this is how it is going to be, then I challenge you to a, uh, fucking challenge... Fuck, I said challenge twice."
The other succubi and incubi looked on with confusion and mild entertainment while Verosika approached. She said, "Blitzo, I was wondering when you would come down here to bitch. What? You can't stand having me around for a week? Instead, you barge in here past my Hellhound for a challenge?" She stared Vortex down a little with irritation.
Blitzo yelled back, "That's right, whore! I want a challenge!"
Verosika looked around at the others in her group as they seemed to smile at the opportunity to play along. One of the females responded in a voice dripping with sexual energy, "I think this little one is challenging you to a demon duel."
Verosika smiled back before leaning over to be even with the Imp. She said, "Alright, I'll bite. What's the game you wanted to play, Blitzo?"
He smirked, "Since you bitch-bags have a way to the human world, I wish to have our little challenge up there. Spring Break is a time when young humans forget their fleeting lives through sex, drugs, alcohol, and general debauchery, and that makes them easy targets. So, I bet that you gaggle of gaggers can't fuck as many as we can off by the end of the day."
Their group had a laugh at the proposition before they collected themselves after they saw Blitzo's continued serious look. Verosika answered, "Wait, you're serious? Fine, I guess I can waste a little time putting you in your place. What are we playing for?"
I pointed in the direction of where his parking spot was, "I want your name and tampon wagon out of my spot! I also don't want to personally see your face in this building."
Verosika backed up with a smile, "From my position, you have neither of those. I will put up the spot, and I will even leave you alone, but I want you to put up something as well."
Blitzo looked critically at the succubus, "What could you want?"
Verosika looked around for a moment until her eyes settled on me. I could swear that her pupils constricted while she licked her lips like a hungry predator. She pointed at me, "I want him to work for me for the week while I am here."
My jaw dropped, "Uhh, what?"
Blitzo pointed to me, "You want this meatbag? Why?"
Verosika approached me while she talked, "Other than using him to piss you off? I think he would be fun to fool around with, and after he spends a little time with me, he won't want to go back to you, you pathetic asshole."
An incubus with a crop top commented, "He is pretty easy on the eyes."
Then a succubus in overalls said, "I wonder how freaky he will be in the sheets."
My face became a little redder from embarrassment while they looked at me as if I were a piece of meat and commented crudely. Blitzo then smirked, "Oh, you are on, whore."
Verosika winked at me before she turned to look at her Imp ex once again. She replied, "Game on, bitch."
Five Minutes Later…
"You have lost your fucking mind if you think I am going to play along with your fucking wager! What compelled you to use me as a token for your fucking parking spot!" I was seething while my now blue, human eyes glared at the Imp.
We all sat in the meeting room while Blitzo stood in front of a drawing board. Well, I was standing with my fists on the table as I leaned in Blitzo's direction. My eyes didn't blink, and they only intensified on the Imp.
Moxxie commented from across me, "What if we lose, sir? How will his highness react if you no longer employ Kyle?"
Blitzo waved him off, "Great confidence there, Mox. That won't happen because I am fully invested in winning this bet over that skank. We will just get a few contracts, and it will be smooth sailing for us while we kill for both my spot and money. Piece of cake!"
I spat out, "How about I lop off your head, instead."
Blitzo hummed before saying, "That would be counterproductive. Then you would definitely be in her clutches." He then cleared his throat, "Plus, you aren't going. You will be staying here with Loony instead."
Loona, who was only listening while on her phone, looked over in irritation while I began yelling, "I'm not going to leave my fate in your fucking hands! I am going along whether you like it or not!"
The Hellhound beside me said, "Can't I just go this time?"
Blitzo shook his head, "Nope, not going to happen, I forbid it. Spring Break is no place for young, vulnerable goth girls, especially hounds. You know what kind of sick FREAKS that are up there would just drool at the sight of you."
I looked around to see them looking at me before I folded my arms, "Fuck off, we will need everyone we can get. There are other roles that can be served. For instance, I can sabotage your ex in her plans."
Loona added, "Yeah, you will need all of us to solve your fucking mess. Plus, I can blend in with humans well enough."
Blitzo looked over, "Wait, you have a disguise?"
Millie asked, "Is it a human one?"
Loona looked confused, "Uhh, yeah? Why do you ask?" She then perked up before placing her phone down on the table, "Do you three not have one?"
The Imps looked at each other nervously before looking back at the Hellhound. I commented, "Nope, they don't. I thought you knew that. I did come through a portal with an Imp to get stuck here."
Loona growled out, "No, I didn't fucking know! They had to be morons to go into the human world without disguises! If I didn't fully think they were screwing around on Earth before, I do now."
Blitzo began to quickly and crudely drew on his board. He finally spoke after a decent bit, "Alright, I guess you two can come. First, we portal up, do murder, collect the bodies in a big fucking canoe, throw it out to sea, light it on fire, the bodies get fucked up and eaten by random animals and shit, then we celebrate by flipping the bird to that drunken-bitch whore. Sound like a good plan?"
I mumbled, "I am so fucked."
Blitzo then said, "Well, it isn't my fault that you are a magnet for her and that group of hers. What? Do you have a long snake in your pants or somethin'?" Blitzo cocked his brow while looking at me while Millie looked down quizzically along with Moxxie. I just folded my arms, sat back down, and glared at the tall Imp. After clearing his voice, Blitzo continued, "Loona can draw the targets to us where we kill them, so we don't draw unwanted attention. I guess you can just fuck around and mess up whatever the bitch's plan is. Sound good?"
Millie beamed, "Yep!"
Loona growled out, "I can't believe you three fuck around on Earth without human disguises."
I commented, "Your poor plan is going to fail, and I am going to be sexual supper for your ex. Still, I guess I will try and disrupt the inevitable."
Moxxie spoke, "You are still missing one crucial detail, sir. We need clients to go up there and kill humans. How are we possibly going to get enough clients and the right client to ask for all those homicides?"
Blitzo smiled while reaching from behind him. He grabbed out a small, dirty piece of paper with some drawings on it. He smiled, "Good thing I thought ahead. I bet you thought you outsmarted me, huh?"
Moxxie grabbed one of the papers to notice that it was a flier. It was a deal for fifty percent off for Spring Break for any victim. There was a crudely drawn Blitzo on the front of it seemingly celebrating. Additionally, there was a human blown in half and a few horses. That last addition seemed superfluous.
Moxxie dropped the paper down on the table with a dumbfounded look. He then asked, "You must be joking, sir. One flier isn't going to draw nearly enough attention to compete in this bet. There is no way we will get enough clients!"
Blitzo stood up before saying, "Stop being a Debbie Downer, Mox. When have I ever let any of you down?"
Everyone was talking at the same time, "You pretty much do it all the time."
"Earlier today when you bet me over a parking spot."
"Constantly, sir."
"Yeah, you pretty much do it all the time."
Blitzo continued to smile while he walked toward the door prompting the rest of us to follow. There wasn't any sight of the succubus or her posse when we went out to the hall, and we were out on the street within moments. I was back in disguise while Blitzo moved to a pole to plant the flier on. All of us looked on with unamused looks while Blitzo seemed to be confident as ever.
He walked by our group and prod Moxxie on the shoulder, "There we go! Now, all we have to do is wait for a second and we will be drowning in clients."
Moxxie pinched between his eyes, "Sir, I don't think that is going to do anything. At least put it somewhere with more Sinner traffic. No one goes down this street, and we won't attract new clients from a poster placed right outside our place of business."
Blitzo's optimism didn't seem to drop, "I think you are underestimating the power of a good deal. Just wait and see, there will be a line."
I crossed my arms while looking down at Blitzo, "I have to agree with Moxxie on this one. There is no fucking way that your little ad will…" My voice trailed off when I looked up.
As if to prove me wrong, I looked up after the sounds of a few steps to see there was a line to see the poster. Various Sinners looked intrigued by the deal. I didn't even bother continuing as I folded my arms with a surprised look. While I didn't enjoy being wrong, especially to Blitzo, I guess I would have to at least be happy that I am not immediately fucked over by this bet.
Blitzo bumped the back of his palm against my stomach and then Moxxie's shoulder. He chuckled, "See, you shouldn't have doubted my flawless plan!"
Moxxie then said, "I wouldn't call this minor success a total victory until we win, sir."
Blitzo's smile disappeared for a second, "How about you be helpful and get these new clients all sorted." He then returned to smiling before walking up to the line, "Now, who's first?"
I looked on with a small amount of hope of things working out. Sure, with this crew, it was a long shot. Everything needs to work out perfectly on their end, and I need to disrupt Verosika's plans. I wasn't sure about all of this, but I cannot count on a miracle here. If there was a moment for me to finally pull together for I.M.P., it was now.
That is all I got! Sorry if it isn't the full arc, but I didn't want to have you guys reading too much in one sitting. Still, I hope it was good.

Beyond that, I thank you for reading. Part 2 of Spring Broken shouldn't take too long. Maybe 8K words of actual content. I don't really know, I haven't thought super hard about it other than small details and overall events. Still in school, so that kind of derails my ability to work on this. It comes first, but that doesn't mean this becomes an afterthought. I will continue to write this as long as there is support for it. :)
Now, if anyone is interested, I am going to leave the discord channel code available to any of you. I usually ask for small details, and some ideas are discussed with others on what I should do with the story. You can even just chat with others in it. I don't really fucking care, it is available to you below if you want in.
