*Chapter 2: Vanished by the Darkness*

Pepper was roaming around the empty park while Amikai is listening to music from her phone with her earbuds on. She is listening to Hikaru Utada's playlist. Amikai is humming the song's tune. Amikai is a great singer for her age, but she never wanted attention from anyone who wanted to hear her. She fears that no one would think she is good. Especially strangers. Amikai's thoughts were broken she felt another shake. She took off her earbuds and look up at the sky to see clouds coming in, sounds of thunder is heard.

"A storm?" Amikai wondered. Pepper whimpered and hurried over to her. Lightning flashed. They are red. Something is wrong. "Pepper, let's go!" Amikai says as she carried her fox in her arms to leave the park. She could also hear the sounds of screams from people. Amikai cried out as a man almost bumped into her.

"Get out of here! Go home! They're gonna get you!" He shouted.

"What's happening?" Amikai asked. She turned her head where the man was running from. Appearing from the ground are the shadows. They have glowing yellow eyes. Pepper let out an alarm bark as Amikai gasped in fear. "What the...?!" Pepper squirmed in her arms and got himself free and took off running. The fox is faster than the shadow creatures. "Pepper!" Amikai cried. A shadow leaped towards her and swung its arm at her. Amikai let out a cry as she felt its claws. It ripped her school jacket. The girl kicked the creature away and started to follow her fox down the road. More shadows appeared. Where do these things come from? In the clouds, there is a black vortex with lightning bolts. The ground shook once more, making Amikai stumble a bit, but she kept running.

Kokoro stood outside the house with a look in his eyes. He stared up at the vortex. Amikai appeared to see her brother standing there with no fear whatsoever. And their parents aren't here. Do they know what was happening?

"Kokoro! What's happening? Where's Pepper?" Amikai asked. "Are mom and dad back?"

"Amikai...our world is going to disappear..." Kokoro said.

"What?"

"Amikai, we need to stick together. We're going to another world! We're gonna make it-"

"What are you talking about?" Amikai asked with a look. "We need to get out of here! Where's Pepper?"

"Calm down! Pepper is coming with us too. Just go in the house and get him." Kokoro told her. "Hurry!" Amikai ran past her brother to get in her house to get her pet. Kokoro gasped as he saw the shadow creatures appearing. "Oh god." He ran in the house and closed the door. "Amikai! Hurry!"
Amikai ran in her room and found Pepper hiding under the bed, shaking in fear. She pulled him out and held him close, telling him everything will be fine. She hears sounds coming from downstairs and her brother yelling. Amikai hurried downstairs to see the shadows roaming around the house. Kokoro is using the baseball bat to fight off the creatures.

"Kokoro! Come on!" Amikai shouted. She then gasped as the house started to shake. "We gotta get out of here! We need to get help!"

"Go! I'm right behind you!" Kokoro said, pushing the shadow off him. "Go down to the beach!"

"The beach? Why-"

"Just go there! Hurry!" Kokoro shouted. Amikai ran out of the house with Pepper in her arms. She ran past the shadows and got on her bike to place Pepper in her basket.

"Hang on, Peps!" Amikai said, riding down the road.
It wasn't easy to avoid the mysterious shadows. They keep appearing out of nowhere, attacking everyone on the island. Amikai held Pepper close as they stood on the beach. More shadows appeared and surrounded them. They all jumped towards the helpless girl and the fox. Amikai shuts her eyes, braced herself for the worst. Suddenly, a flash of light appeared, and the shadows disappeared in thin air. Amikai held something in her hand. Some sort of key.

Keyblade.

"What?" Amikai gasped.

Keyblade...

"Who's there?" Amikai asked. She looked at her weapon that appeared. A Keyblade. That's what the mysterious voice said. Pepper let out a bark as the shadows appear once more. Amikai made a look and swung her Keyblade at them, defeating them. They vanished. Amikai was amazed. This Keyblade defeats these things. Where did this weapon come from?

"Amikai! Are you okay?" Kokoro asked as he arrived on the scene. He halts as he saw the Keyblade. "Where'd you get that?"

"Uhh..." Amikai tried to look for answer as she held her weapon, but the beach started to shake. "Whoa!"

"Oh god. No..." Kokoro gasped. "Amikai!" The vortex is started to suck some of the objects in. Trees, houses, anything. The darkness is going to swallow the island! "Amikai, grab my hand!" Kokoro reached out for her. Amikai held Pepper as she tried to reach her brother, but she felt herself being lifted off the ground. "No!" Kokoro cried out, grabbing her hand.

"Kokoro! Don't let go!" Amikai said, holding Pepper with one arm. The poor fox is frightened by all this. Kokoro used his free hand to grab the nearby palm tree, trying to pull his sister down, but the force from the vortex is too strong. "Kokoro, lookout!" Amikai gasped. The shadows leaped towards Kokoro, making him release Amikai. "Nooo!" Amikai screamed as she was pulled up into the darkness.

"Amikai!" Kokoro cried as he looked up. "No! Amikai!" Amikai held her pet close as they went up towards the vortex. They closed their eyes, preparing for the possible fate. Kokoro let out yell as he got the shadow off him, but then darkness appeared below his feet and was caught in it. Tendrils went up to pull him into the darkness. Kokoro tried to fight back, but everything went black.
Soon, Destiny Island is gone. The darkness consumed it.

"Moro? Wake up!" Goofy's voice was heard. Moro opened his eyes and see his face. "We're almost to Traverse Town."

"Already?" Moro asked as he got out of his bed and walked up the stairs to get to the compartment. Goofy followed him and Donald is focused on the world ahead. "This is it?" Moro asked.

"Yep. Prepare for landing." Donald said, pressing some buttons. Moro and Goofy got in their seats to buckle up. The ship got a little bumpy as they reached Traverse Town. "We have to look for a guy named Leon to help us look for that key!"

"Right." Moro said with a nod.

"Moro, remember the lessons I taught you. Use your magic wisely." Donald reminded him.

"And the lessons from the king." Goofy spoke.

"Been training for years and I am ready." Moro told them with a small smile. "I'm a little nervous about this, but it's time I test my skills." He took out a silver locket and opened it. His mother and father in their royal robes. Moro closed his eyes as he remembered when the darkness took away everything. His world, his family, everything. Thanks to the king, Moro was saved and stayed at his castle.

'I'll make you both proud. The darkness won't win.' Moro thought as he held the locket to his chest where his heart is. Donald and Goofy noticed this and frowned a little. Moro had been through a lot when he was a child. He lost his parents. The Gummi Ship arrived in the world where they should find Leon to look for someone with a key.
