She opens her eyes, waking up in the middle of the night. It has become a common act for the girl because of the pain in her body.
Having difficulty getting up, the girl moves the sheets revealing some venous access in her body. Two on the right arm, one on the left, and two on each leg.
The little girl is breathing hard as she tries to move to the edge of the bed.
"Hey hey what did I say about doing this, if you want something press that button" a voice scolded the little girl. She looked at what the voice was referring to and then at the owner of the voice.
"I'm sorry Doctor Romani, I was just going to get some water" she breathed heavily as the doctor laid her back on the bed.
The girl herself looked nine years old, however small she was compared to someone of her age.
"Your body is very fragile Mashu, I know your situation is irritating, but I do this for your own good" Doctor Romani was filling a glass of water for the girl from a drinking fountain next to the girl's bed.
"I understand Doctor Romani, it's just… I'm tired of being stuck here, I'm tired of my body constantly hurting… Why was I born like this Doctor?" Hearing that was like Romani had been punched.
He approached the girl and gave the little girl a glass of water.
She looked at the glass for a few seconds and took it, "Thank you."
Romani watches her drink water while thinking about the situation of the girl who was in what appeared to be a hospital room.
It must have been difficult for her since all she knew was her room and the hallways when Doctor Romani took her around in a wheelchair.
Anyone looking would think the little girl in the room was just a sick nine year old, but the truth was, she only had been alive for two months.
"Mashu how about we walk a little, it will be good to exercise your legs" the doctor offered the girl who was sitting on the bed.
She stops drinking and looks at the Doctor with bright eyes.
"Seriously, can I come out? Thank you Doctor!" She tries to get up to hug the man but he stops her.
"Hey calm down, let's take it slow ok?" He gently holds her by the shoulders.
She nods in agreement, "Okay" the child responds.
He offers his hand to the child who accepts. The Doctor with the other hand holding the metal support where the serums were.
"Let's go ?" He asked the child.
She nodded excitedly, "Yes!" She said excitedly. And so the two began to leave the room with snail's steps, taking care that the girl does not miss the accesses in her body since the veins in her body were thin and weak making it difficult to take another.
…
"Doctor Romani?" A female voice calls out to the Doctor. The man puts his coffee mug on his office table and looks at who was calling him.
"Ah, Mashu you look good. Do you need anything?" A girl with purple hair and just below neck length looked at him in the doorway.
She shook her head and said "No, I just came to see you. I'm told you're working hard and resting little" she said with a worried look.
The Doctor sighed, "That's normal around here, when you grow up you'll understand" he turns off the monitor screen and walks towards her.
Compared to three months ago, Mashu was looking better, her skin was more ruddy and her health was better. She no longer wore venous access on her body.
Well it's been three months now and the girl looks like a twelve year old. She was aging fast which was worrying her.
"You're changing the subject" she puffed out her cheek in a cute way.
"Oh come on, don't be like that, how about I get some ice cream?" The man tried to spar with the child as she smiled.
"You're sacrificing your sleep to help me, aren't you? You don't have to do that Doctor, I've already accepted it. I want to enjoy my last moments with the doctor, after all, the doctor has always taken care of me" upon hearing that, Romani gave the girl a hug. tight.
"Doctor?" she asked, confused.
"Don't say that, please don't say that. I promise you Mashu, I will sacrifice as many nights of sleep as it takes to reverse this" the girl blinked in surprise and smiled returning the hug.
"Thank you Doctor Romani" she closed her eyes and enjoyed the comfort of the man's embrace.
…
"Please, I just need a chance is all I ask," said a frustrated Romani.
"Mister Romani, do you know what you're asking? The amount of resources we'll use for what? Save a homunculus. No" Said the man known as the Marisbury Animusphere.
Romani bit her bottom lip. Marisbury was right, what he was was a lot and in a mage's view it wasn't worth the cost. He fidgeted anxiously with the gold ring on his finger.
"Stop to think how good it will be for Chaldea if it works, the price is worth it!" Romani tried to reason with the director.
Marisbury raised an eyebrow, "Doctor, you want to spend an incredible amount of money and magical resources that Chaldea took years to accumulate trying to put a Heroic spirit into a dying homunculus. That's the nature of homunculi, to live a short period of time"
"I take responsibility, and if it works out Chaldea will have a servant. As I said, the cost is worth it" Romani had a serious expression.
"Oh, the chances of it working are very low Doctor, a Heroic spirit is too strong for the human body, imagine a homunculus" even with the answer the Doctor was still firm with his decision.
"Like I said, I take responsibility" he was determined.
"..."
"Very well Romani, now listen carefully. If it goes wrong, the consequences will be on your back, understand?" The director warned him.
"I'm totally fine with that" replied the doctor.
Looks like that fool got attached to the homunculus. Well, one hand washes the other, if he succeeds in both we win.
…
"Doctor?" Mashu's voice caught the man's attention.
"Yes, Mashu?" He stopped looking at the clipboard in his hand.
Mashu watches people go by and plug wires and switches into machines.
"I'm a little scared" she was lying on a metal table and her arms and legs were trapped.
Romani approaches the table and gives the child a tender kiss on the forehead, "I promised I would help you, didn't I? So don't worry, everything will be fine", he comforted the girl.
She nodded, accepting the answer.
"Can we have ice cream after all this?" she asked hopefully.
He smiled, "As many as you want."
She smiled back, Doctor Romani noticed that the director had arrived.
"Let's start, everyone get ready" The employees brought two similar machines to the side of the metal table and there was a gigantic ring with multiple halos, it was very similar to the shape of the planet Earth.
"It will be over soon, I promise" Mashu nodded, accepting what the Doctor said.
Doctor Romani pinned her head to the table. it wasn't the most comfortable in the world but Mashu made an effort to ignore the bad feeling.
The director gave the nod to start and that's what Romani did.
All Mashu could see were the metallic halos above her. She watched the halos begin to swirl as the core inside began to glow blue causing her to go into a trance.
Even though her eyes were open she felt her vision going dark as her consciousness faded.
And so she lost consciousness.
…
She blinked and blinked, all Mashu did was
White
There was nothing there, just white emptiness.
"Hello madam, are you lost?" A voice coming from behind Mashu caught her attention. When looking she notices a man with a knight's armor and purple hair.
She shook her head, "Sir, I don't think I have much time, so can you do me a favor?" She asks the knight.
He nodded in doubt and said "Depends on what you order".
"When you take care of Mashu's body, can you take care of the Doctor for me? I don't want him to be feeling sorry for me"
"..."
"The Doctor is a good man who took care of Mashu from the beginning, I don't want to see him suffering. Maybe if someone with Mashu's face takes care of him, maybe the Doctor won't feel sad and…" tears start to run down the child's face as she tries to finish talking.
"I don't want to leave the Doctor but I have no choice" Tears fell on the white floor, "I want to spend more time with the Doctor, walk the halls… eat ice cream and…" she covered her eyes with her hands as she cried.
"Could you do that in Mashu's place, Sir?" She cried and cried, but her attention was called when the knight gently placed his hand on her head.
"Why don't you do it yourself?" the knight says with a gentle smile.
"Eh?" She looks at him confused.
"Enjoy every moment and fulfill the wishes you want to fulfill, child" he starts to touch her hair.
"Go and enjoy every second" the knight was fading little by little as he closed his eyes and smiled at her.
Tears fell from his eyes as she watched the world begin to disappear along with the man.
"Wait! Sir, what's your name?" She asked the missing man.
He smiled.
"My name is…"
…
Mashu blinks when notices that she is being hugged and sees Doctor Romani.
"I said it would work, Mashu, it's going to be ok now" Romani said relieved.
Tears begin to fall into the child's eyes as she returns the hug.
From afar, the director of Chaldea watched the child with purple hair.
"Oh my, who knows. Maybe that's useful"

She opens her eyes, waking up in the middle of the night. Upon waking up, the girl notices that she is not alone in the room.
"Hello Senpai, did you sleep well?" Mashu Greeted Ritsuka.
Ritsuka turns her head to the side and sees Mashu replacing the flowers in the vase. The girl adjusted to sit on the bed.
"Hello Mashu, I think I gave everyone a heart attack" said Ritsuka, a little embarrassed.
The purple haired girl looked at her master and smiled. She noticed that the girl had an access in her right arm.
"It's okay, senpai, but I must admit it scared everyone. I don't do that anymore, okay?" The shield servant scolded his master.
She scratched her head in embarrassment and looked away.
"I… I was just trying to help" Ritsuka said, looking at the wall as if it was the most fascinating thing in the world, "Like I said, I know I can't help in fights but I don't want to be the useless one in the group. like I shouldn't be there".
The moment Ritsuka stopped talking she felt Mashu hug her.
The image of a frail, skeletal, purple-haired child appeared.
"Mashu?!" The master was surprised by the girl's attitude.
The little girl feels a hand touching her shoulder, she turns to see Doctor Romani beside her.
The man opens his mouth and the little girl listens.
"You are important Senpai, your life is important. Please never say that again" Mashu says as he gives his master a tight hug.
Ritsuka's eyes widened in surprise for a second. Ritsuka sighed and accepted the shield servant's embrace.
"Fine, I'll never say that again" Ritsuka says, enjoying the hug.
The sound of someone clearing their throat draws the attention of both girls.
Ritsuka and Mashu stopped hugging and looked at the person who made the noise.
"I'm not interrupting anything, am I?" The woman leaning against the door says.
Mashu shakes his head, "No, Miss Scathach. I was checking Master's condition."
"I see you're still alive child" Scathach starts to approach.
Ritsuka flinched a bit.
"What?" Question the goddess.
"Eh… you're not going to hit my head again are you?" Scathach blinks in surprise at the girl's question and smiles.
"I'll think about it" she sat down in a chair beside the bed, "How are you?" She asked the goddess.
Now it was Ritsuka who blinked in surprise.
"Who are you and what did you do with Scathach?!" Ritsuka was startled by the girl's attitude.
"You insolent, I was the one who brought you to Chaldea. You should be more grateful" she raised her hand as if she was going to hit the girl on the head.
Ritsuka cowered again in fear for a second until something clicked in her head.
"Wait? You brought me, didn't you go to Mashu?" She looked at her Kohai who nodded in confirmation.
Ritsuka looks back at Scathach, "Sorry, thank you Scathach. It's just that of all I didn't expect it to be you who would do something so selfless."
A vein pulses in the god-killer's head.
"Senpai, I think you'd better not irritate Miss Scathach. For her sake", Mashu warned her in fear of what the goddess would do to her master.
"You're right, thank you" Ritsuka thanked her.
Scathach lowers her hand, "Better, I came here to see how you are a child. I must say to someone of this generation that you have held up well to supply mana to so many servants, you have exceeded my expectations" the goddess crosses her arms.
"Serious?!" Ritsuka said excitedly since Scathach was a goddess so she must have impressed her.
"Well, they weren't tall to begin with" upon hearing what the woman said Ritsuka sinks onto the bed.
"Thank you…" A dark cloud formed on the orange haired girl's head.
Mashu glared at the goddess for her attitude, Scathach looked at Mashu and then at her master.
It seemed that the girl had some kind of powers of persuasion. Scathach gets his master's attention again.
"Even so, it doesn't change the fact that what he did was impressive for a human outside the age of the gods" the goddess tries to cheer up her master.
She just makes a 'puff' sound with her lips making the goddess raise her eyebrow not understanding what it means.
"Of course, look at me. I look like I got hit by a truck" Ritsuka said, raising both arms in frustration.
The goddess didn't know what a truck was.
"Hm, thank the archer for that" Scathach winks as he blurts it out.
Mashu looks at the Crimson Spear Servant in confusion.
"What does Mister Archer have to do with it?" Mashu asked.
Seeing that the goddess had already done the damage and there was no turning back, she continued.
"Looks like our friend from the bow used a noble phantasm that consumed all of his mana and the master's mana together. Which is ridiculous when you think about it since other servants used theirs too and the girl was fine" Scathach leans back in his chair .
Ritsuka blinks for a second trying to remember when the archer did this.
…
…
…
A click came into her head.
"Wait, that golden light that helped us?" Ritsuka looked to Scathach for confirmation.
The goddess nodded.
"Wow, what did he use to knock me down like that?" Ritsuka was curious.
The spear servant just shrugged her shoulders to show that she didn't know.
"I don't know, just the noble phantasm he used knock you down for a while" the goddess replied.
"I think I'd better warn the mister archer to be careful next time. That was dangerous" said Mashu innocently.
The goddess was surprised by the purple haired girl at times, she often looked like a newborn child. As if she hadn't developed the capacity for strong emotions. Just like a baby.
"Well let's go" Scathach gets up from his chair and looks at his master.
She looked at the goddess, "Going? Going where?"
"Getting out of this depressing place will be good for you" Scathach looks around and sees a wheelchair.
"Miss Scathach I don't think that's a good idea. Besides, Senpai still has a fit" she points to her master's arm.
Scathach noticed that the girl's arm was punctured and a small tube connected to an 'serum' container attached to a metal post.
"You carry… that right there, whatever it is" Mashu blinked in surprise at what the goddess said.
The spear servant takes the wheelchair and places it next to the bed.
"Come on Mashu, I've been in this room for a while. Please?" When Ritsuka said that, Mashu saw an image of herself in the same situation as her. Before answering her master something catches her attention.
"Ah~" Ritsuka gave a very feminine surprised cry.
Scathach picked up the girl and held her bridal style.
"I don't have all day so let's go" she said, starting to get impatient.
Mashu runs and removes the serum container from the metal holder and stands beside his master.
"Well… let's go then" said Ritsuka with a smile on her face.

"Eh…" the archer raised an eyebrow in the presence of the saint of the flag.
"Can I help you, miss~" the archer said in a husky voice, sending a chill down the woman's spine.
"You're doing this on purpose" the archer looks at the other woman who was accompanying Jeanne.
"Ah, my humble apologies. I'm making you both uncomfortable, I can leave if you want~" again, he said with a husky voice sending a shiver down the spine of the woman next to Jeanne.
Jeanne raises her hand, "No, it's okay Martha." She looks at the archer again.
The archer smiled looking at the saint on the flag. Jeanne's cheeks grew hot.
Martha sighs at the attitude of the saint of the flag, "Come on, we'd like to ask for your help" said the woman, losing patience.
Now the man was curious, "It depends, what do you want?"
"Could you help us choose more comfortable clothes?" When the archer heard what Martha said he stared at the two expressionlessly.
Jeanne covered her face with both arms in embarrassment and Martha put her hand on her hip waiting for the answer.
…
"You two must be kidding me" he raised an eyebrow and leaned his back against the wall in Chaldea's hallway.
"And why would they be kidding about it?" Now the one who raised an eyebrow was her.
…
"Oh, I didn't expect that two Saints wanted to make a threesome, I must imagine that whole being a good girl of the lord thing must have reached its limit" the archer closed one of his eyes while the other one was open.
Jeanne's brain melted at the man's comment and Martha's face turned completely red.
"No, you pervert, that's not it!" Martha screamed, causing an echo in the hall.
"Hahahaha sorry but when it comes to getting more comfortable these days it's code for sex" he laughed at their reaction.
"I did not know that!" She screamed, still embarrassed.
"But why ask for my help changing clothes, I'm not the most qualified person for that. Davinci would be a better choice" he asked.
"Well… it's just that out of everyone here you seem to know this century best. We hardly understand what we see around. Recently Davinci showed us a magic screen that flashed images, it was really fun" Jeanne finally got up the courage to speak after the archer's teasing .
The archer blinked in response.
"So, you two want me to help pick out an outfit so you don't look like you're disconnected from this century?" spoke the archer.
The two nodded in affirmation.
The archer made a strange expression, "I don't think I'm the best person for this" He said scratching his head.
"Like Jeanna said, out of everyone you are the one with the most knowledge of this century… which is a little strange, it even seems like you were born in this time period"
…
The archer sighed, "Come on, I'll see what I can do but don't expect much" the nameless man says as he starts walking down the hall and makes a hand motion for the two to follow.
Jeanne and Martha looked at each other and smiled. The two began to follow him.
…
"Like I said, I'm not the best person for this" The archer repeated as he walked through the halls.
"What are you talking about, that's great. And I thought it would make us wear questionable clothes," said Martha with a smile, satisfied with the archer's choice.
"Your normal clothes are questionable," said the archer.
"Huh?!" The comment caught Martha off guard.
"It's okay, thanks archer" said Jeanne, noting the clothes they wore.
Martha was wearing a white dress shirt, a kind of spear around her neck, and black black pants. The outfit hugged the woman's figure emphasizing her hips and breasts. Martha's hair was loose.
While Jeanne wore a sleeveless white shirt with a tie, black stockings that covered most of her legs and a simple shoe. Jeanne's hair was tied in a single braid.
"Well, if that was all. I'll be going" He waves his hand, however someone grabs his arm.
…
"Do you need anything else ?" asked the nameless man.
"Hey what's the rush? How about we all know each other better" Martha says, holding the archer's arm.
"And why would I do that?" The archer finger by finger takes it from the man's arm, making the saint's hand come loose.
"Well… it might be a good time to get together. Since we're all going to be around for a while," said Jeanne.
The archer makes a strange expression.
"Yes, you can start. Changing clothes right?" Martha crossed her arms.
"And again, why would I do that?" The archer crossed his arms.
"We're not in battle, you don't need to wear armor all the time. You can do just like us if you want" a smile came to Jeanne's face.
…
The red sacred shroud disappeared. The archer's armor began to change as if it had a life of its own and turned into a black shirt, boots and pants changed and became something more normal that matched the shirt.
"Okay, satisfied, can I go?" The two looked at the archer.
"Damn, you act like you don't like people" Martha's comment made the archer look at the two.
"You can't be that antisocial archer, it's not healthy" Jeanne said scolding the man.
…
"Listen here…" the archer is interrupted by a wheelchair that passed by the group and a Mashu running behind in despair.
"Hahahahahaha" Ritsuka's laugh echoes through the halls with Scathach taking the girl at great speed.
"Senpai!" Mashu ran after the two.
…
…
…
"Was the one in the wheelchair the master?" The archer asked, confused.
Jeanne and Martha didn't know what a wheelchair was, but they agreed without knowing what happened.
