Walking Dead Wizard

Chapter 122

The group that had considered P.A home for years, stood stunned, as they stared at the blonde-haired intruder. Their first thoughts were 'surely we didn't hear what we just thought we did?' nobody was that stupid to come into someone's community and attempt a coup in broad daylight in front of everyone with a smile on their face? They were clean, well dressed, and they didn't a single weapon on their person. Not even a single makeshift one they could have made or used. Everyone could see they didn't have a single bulge in their attires, quite frankly, they looked like they had just popped down the shops, they weren't in any way prepared for this life.

Some people had dropped their jaw in sheer incredulity, not just those that had been with Harry since the initial group split. Not even the ones that had come together either. Noah was one in particular, he couldn't help but glance around, tense and alert, wondering how this would go.

They were so silent they heard Sophia's "You've got some fucking nerve lady!"

Carol gasped at her daughters' words, looking struck between laughing and reprimanding her. Mostly because she sounded like a watered-down version of Merle. She gave thanks that she wasn't quite as bad as Merle, but that was just old-fashioned values speaking, to know her daughter was going to be just fine if anything happened to her. She would be able to protect herself that meant everything to Carol. She still gave thanks that the Dixons and Harry as well as Luna had been so kind as to take them with her despite them both being quite useless at the time.

The others weren't quite so subdued, they laughed, the surprise of hearing her say that made them amused. Then again having been raised by Harry, Daryl, Merle, Luna and everyone else would raise a strong stubborn girl. No teenager, she was no longer a little girl anymore.

Neither was Carl, the only little ones they had now were those poor abused magical children from Oceans side, and Michonne's little one who's growing thick and fast like Judith. The next generation was on its way, his little ones. Still mind boggling to think he was having twins, two for one.

Glancing to his side, he saw Severus ushering a child back into the building they'd just vacated. Frowning in concern, but brushed it off, for the moment, he turned back and their sense of disbelief doubled as he watched. He honestly was astonished, barely able to believe his eyes as he watched the scene.

"Let me help!" Olivia said cheerfully, attempting to take the food from Carol, "We can take it back and begin properly disbursing it."

The moment Olivia took a step in Carol's direction, the overwhelming sound of guns cocking surrounded the interlopers. Even Carol had her gun aimed at Olivia who blanched and backed hastily, bumping into one of her own people almost causing them to violently fall. She would have if not for the hasty steadying from a blonde short haired man.

Quite a few people were impressed with Carols ability to retain her hold on the food and aim her gun without difficulty. Then again, they'd all undergone the same training, they'd all be able to do it without a single doubt. It was eggs too so hopefully they wouldn't be dropped, and butter that had been churned in an old-fashioned churner. They had butter yes, but one day they wouldn't have so Harry wanted P.A and all surrounding allies to be entirely self-sufficient.

Regardless of their magical status, or any wizardkind living amongst them. Harry had declared it so, refusing to have his people – or anyone else's – become utterly dependant on magic.

"I was only going to help you with the food," Olivia said soothingly, as if trying to entice a spooked animal closer. Once again advancing on Carol with every intention of 'helping her' with the food she'd oversee. She knew they were easily spooked; she'd seen so many people brought back jumpy as hell. "I'll take half."

Then more guns cocked as dozens and dozens of their people came to their aid, surrounding the rather large group almost entirely. Guns trained on them without mercy in their gazes, they protected their own.

Harry's gaze roved over the group, displeasure and incredulity most prominently displayed. He saw Eric watching with resignation and Aaron with his hand planted firmly on his face. It showed just what they thought without a single world being spoken.

"The sheer audacity of what I am seeing makes me wonder just how on earth you've survived," Harry told them, his tone icy, and it caught everyone's attention, including Olivia. "I did you the courtesy of saving your group when I needn't have bothered. Not only that but I housed you comfortably, and you dare – horrifying feeble at that – attempt to take over my people, who the hell do you think you are?"

Mutters of agreement with Harry whispered all around them.

"You shut your damn mouth, you—" a man lurched at Harry, seething in fury at the way he spoke to his mother. Always too hot-headed and getting his own way, he didn't consider the ramifications of his actions or the possible actions as it may be.

He never got to touch a single hair on Harry's head, courtesy of a very protective and possessive Daryl.

Daryl was so quick with his actions; most people took a few seconds to understand just what happened.

One of the others had attempted to attack Harry for simply uttering the truth. Daryl had used the heel of his boot and rendered him off his feet and used his arm to propel him backwards. He handed with an oomph on the ground, the sound of his head hitting on impact was seriously jarring and so loud that even Harry cringed at the sound of it.

The almighty scream of fear left Deanna's mouth, as she crouched over her son's body protectively. Oh, she knew her son's personality, that he was too full of himself. That he could do with being brought down a peg or two, but she seriously wished she hadn't thought such things now. Her son, her precious son, she would not let him die! Not like this! She couldn't.

Reg held Spencer back, preventing him from attempting to help his brother. Luckily for him, he didn't try, Spencer was the smarter of the two, more understanding, and fundamentally understood what would happen should he attempt anything unlike his brother. "Dad, he's bleeding," horrified to see the amount of blood on his mothers' hands.

"You're all untouched by the damage done to this world." Harry said with deceptive mildness, "I truly have no idea how you've survived this far. Your actions are rash, suicidal, insipid. You're a bunch of dunderheads! I've never seen that sort of shit since the beginning of this thing!"

Andrea groaned, "Are you ever going to let me live that down?" knowing very well to what Harry was referring, and everyone smirked, they all knew what incident they were talking about.

"No," Harry commented honestly, with a roughish grin, before his face became impassive, "If anyone, and I mean anyone else had found you, you'd have likely been left to die cornered on all sides by walkers. We took a chance in helping you and you repaid that by assuming you were just what? Magically going to get to take over and rule this place?" giving it to her bluntly, wondering if she'd even get it at the end of the day.

"Please, help him, please," Deanna pleaded with the group, looking at her son, as blood pooled around him.

"Great I'm being ignored now," Harry grumbled out in exasperation. Not that he was heard, at least he didn't think so, over the rather horrific caterwauling cry the woman was doing. Unhooking his radio, he called out for the people he needed, "Hershel? Lily? Severus?" he knew someone from the group would be with Severus so that the radio transmission would be heard by the Potions Master.

Harry was actually highly disturbed, and as he looked around, he could see his own people were as well. That sort of untouched during this apocalypse was…unheard of, and rather troubling.

"You called?" came the sarcastic voice that was all too familiar to Harry.

Luckily, they were all familiar enough with Severus to know it wasn't ill intended. Lily appeared right next to him, and after her Hershel appeared. Naturally as an older gentleman he was slower than their able-bodied Potions Master/healer and their nurse.

"Abraham, Noah, Glenn, Maggie, Michonne put some space between us and them," Harry stated, watching them cautiously. Perhaps he had been far too hasty in his decision to save them all.

Abraham, Noah, Glenn, Maggie and Michonne immediately stepped forward. "Ma'am, move now so that your son can be seen to." Glenn stated firmly but politely, the underlying threat of him not being tended to more than obvious for all to hear. "Before I move you."

The woman didn't move.

"You've got one chance to move her, or we will." Abraham told the ones closest, presuming correctly that they were a family. Two of the men had her cheekbones, one had her colouring and the other had black hair, from the other adult so it led him to believe that he was the father.

Glenn's features softened just a little, "We have a doctor and a nurse here, let them look at him."

This broke the last of Reg's resistance, "Deanna, come, let them see him," kneeling down before his wife, the love he felt for her clear as day. As he attempted to get her to her feet, but the woman wouldn't move, convinced she'd lost him – that it was only a matter of time – and inconsolably mourning.

Abraham grunted, losing his patience, he grabbed the woman under one arm, stepping over the body of her unconscious son. Jerking his head at Michonne, Glenn was too short for his plan to work. Michonne stepped around the body, and hooked her arm through Deanna's and they lifted her, her feet kicking uselessly when she realised what was happening.

Sophia, Carl, Andre, Meghan giggled at the sight.

Nobody reprimanded them, in fact, it made them all smile that there could be a reason to laugh found in this world they now called home.

Severus and Lily began to tend to him, with Hershel occasionally giving a piece of advice. Which both Severus and Lily took to heart. He might have been educated as a veterinarian, but he made a hell of a human doctor as well. Necessity is the mother invention.

Hershel learned as well, since Severus could show him so much that he hadn't known. Obviously, Hershel wasn't magical, and hadn't known about spells and potions. He was learning fast, along with Lily and a few others. They didn't just learn magical ways but non-magical ways too.

Reg and Spencer held their wife and mother close, preventing her from getting to her son. In this world, the men knew that this was his only chance of survival. They had no medical supplies, no doctors, no clue of where they could settle. Deanna was still wailing like a wounded animal, nothing her husband or son said to her got through.

"I swear to Merlin himself; I'm going to silence her if she doesn't desist at once!" Severus snapped, "Not even my most idiotic students caterwauled like that, have some self-respect woman!" and he'd seen and experienced everything.

Harry pursed his lips, the evidence of his amusement seen in the quivering lips. Thankfully though, it had worked, not that Harry was surprised. Severus Snape was one person nobody wanted to antagonise.

"I don't suppose I can heal the wound but leave the internal pain?" Severus asked, glancing shrewdly at Harry. Yes, he was adhering to Harry's wishes here, he would never put anyone in doubt of Harry's leadership. He was a wonderful wizard, and he was going to help him remain that way. Plus, if his aim had reached? He would have died for the nerve he had to attack Harry. He hadn't ensured his survival though Hogwarts to let him die at the hands of this muggle fool.

"It won't cause any problems?" Harry asked, a thoughtful look on his face, ignoring the terrified people that were surrounded on all sides.

Luckily for all, they hadn't heard Severus' words, too far away to hear them. Severus very rarely had to raise his voice, and when he did…he meant business.

Daryl glanced at Harry silently impressed, he'd never thought his husband would do that.

"No, he'll just have to put up with the pain for a few days to a week or so, all other healing will have been done." Severus said, delighting in the fact Harry was letting him. Then again, Harry was rather vindictive when wronged, everyone saw the good in him, but the second you went against him or someone he loved? All hell would break loose and they'd see for themselves. Harry's third year at Hogwarts had been the start of it. The real considerable power he'd used against Marge who had offended him?

Harry nodded; he should feel ashamed but the bastard had actually tried to attack him. If anything had happened to his babies if he'd succeeded? A sore head would be the last of his worries, in fact, he wouldn't have any. If he hadn't killed him then Daryl would have. Turning to his husband, he kissed his chin in silent thanks, rubbing his hand up and down his arm relishing and delighting in the feel of his muscles.

"Is that…is that how I look? How I sound?" Rick asked, watching the scene truly disturbed by what he'd just seen. Speaking to Maggie, he was far more familiar with the Greene's than his own wife and son – and Judith – these days. He lived with the Greene's and Lori didn't let him spend any time with Carl on his own. There was always someone there with him, watching over the young man. Watching Severus with his wand, clearly, he was being healed with magic.

Maggie turned to face the greying man at her back, surprise flickering through her eyes, "Yes," she bluntly and honestly replied. Perhaps this was what would get through to Rick, but she doubted it. Nothing had succeeded thus far, there was hardly any hope for him anymore. Even Lori wasn't as stubborn as Rick, and she hadn't thought that when she met them. "Everyone knows what you're attempting to do, Rick, and it won't work." He was a good man when he wasn't completely paranoid. Missed his family, and spoke of them often, mostly repeated stories now.

Rick glanced away; his eyes vacant as he thought about everything.

Maggie went back to ensuring the group didn't get to close to her own, leaving Rick in the background lost in thought. Sixty people wouldn't be easy to subdue, not without them getting hurt in the process (shot more like). So, if she could stop any of them from starting something then she would.

"He's dead! We need to do something now!" one person of the crowd demanded, trying to shove their way forward.

"Calm down! Head wounds always look worse than they are, compared to what blood is in the human body that's nothing!" Maggie argued with one of the newcomers, pointing towards the small pool of blood. "Keep going and you will lose him, if not right away but to infection I don't see you having antibiotics around, do you?"

"She's, she's right, Raymond," came the reply from a woman near him, "It happened to my daughter, she hurt her head, and there was blood everywhere. I was convinced she would die, but she made a full recovery." A haunted quality to her voice, made clear that her daughter wasn't with her anymore.

Her words certainly shut everyone up, and ceased their pushing and shoving against each other.

"Now lookie here," Merle's booming voice echoed down the road, "What do we have here then?" despite his teasing voice, he was tense, alert and had his hand on his gun. Well aware that he didn't have many rounds in that gun, but between them all, they could put them all down.

"Snipers up top," Luna murmured quietly, as she reassured him, while not their best, they definitely wouldn't miss. The fact they'd gone up without being told pleased her very much. It would likely please Harry as well; he liked when people could actually think for themselves. That they were doing so for the betterment of the group was an added bonus. "Although, I must confess to being curious about what's going on." With that she moved forward, and as soon as people noticed who she was, the line begun to part, letting her - and Merle – with ease, step up to Harry's side.

The leaders reunited once more.

"What's going on?" her voice quiet as not to disturb Severus, Lily or Hershel for that matter.

"You wouldn't believe it," Harry said, his tone still filled with disbelief, "They left the barracks and walked up to Carol and the leader of this group decided to order Carol to give over the food to one of theirs and they would 'distribute it properly'."

Merle choked on his own spit, "You're goddamned fucking kidding me?" his dark searing gaze roving over the newcomers who couldn't help but flinch away from Merle's gaze. "There can't be anyone that goddamned stupid still alive."

"You'd think?" Harry said wryly, turning back to them, still alert, knowing how predictable crowds could be. Better yet, how much damage they could cause even accidentally. "How is he?" he asked, once the wand waving – subtle as it was never venturing beyond Severus' body so nobody could see the casting.

Severus was wonderful at non-verbal spellcasting, so it was a breeze to do so.

"He'll survive, luckily his skull was intact, no cranium fractures of any kind," Severus stated, he was speaking a bit louder so that the family could be put at ease. The quicker the better as far as he was concerned, he did not wish to be trampled by idiots thinking they could take over wizards and witches. "He'll just have a very bad headache for the next few days." He succeeded in manging to keep his delight out of his voice.

"Then why's he still unconscious?" was spat out by someone, clearly egging for a fight.

"Want to spit that at my face, boy?" Merle barked, cracking his knuckles, a Snape-worthy glare on his face, just begging them to agree. It had been too long since he'd had a good fight.

Of course, he was unaware that he'd be getting his desired fight. Just not whom he thought it would be, and added to the fact, it would be reminiscent of what went down at the quarry.

It just wasn't that man in particular.

The 'boy' flinched away, huddling himself safely within the confines of the group. Assuming he'd be safe there from any attack that might come from the intimidating figure. He was wrong of course, if Merle wanted to get to him, he would, and he'd have help too.

A groan suitably distracted them all, as the one who attempted to attack Harry came round. It took a few moments for the daze to leave his features and understanding flood in. It didn't take long at all before he flushed a florid red in humiliation and utter embarrassment while grimacing. The pain in his head was horrendous, it was like a bowling ball staggering around in his brain. A guttered groan leaving his lips, as he clutched his head curled up, the pain was just too much. God, it hurt, it hurt so much.

"What have you done?" Deanna asked, making her way to her son, as the group began to back off, at a flick of Harry's finger. He didn't even need to say a word for his group to understand him and his instruction.

Even Severus, Lily and Hershel did so, even though Severus hadn't spent a large amount of time within the group. However, Severus always kept a keen eye on his surroundings, he would have found it easy to step in with the others.

"Mom, stop, please," Aiden pleaded with his mother, over the severe pounding of his head.

"All of you, get out now." Harry declared, he would not take pity on them, have mercy, not for this, they'd gone too far.

Andrea glanced at Harry, neither approvingly or disapprovingly, "Earlier mission aborted?" she asked of Harry. She ignored the curious looks she received upon asking that. Especially from Luna and Merle, but she reckoned they'd be let in on the secret soon enough. If not, Merle would ask and get an answer likely from his brother.

"Please don't," Aaron said, hands raised in subjugation. Swallowing thickly, "It's not their fault, we've kept just how bad it is out there from them." Lying through his teeth in order to aid the group. The very group in which he and his partner had saved single-handedly over the past years.

Harry gritted his teeth as he stared at the large group, most without a single weapon, or ability to defend themselves. Could he in good conscious really leave them all defenceless? Especially when it was only the actions of a few? Oh, he knew he was partially lying, to defend the blighters on society no doubt. Even now they defended the horrendous people who had judged him for who he chose to love. It turned his stomach.

Glancing at Daryl, Merle then Andrea who all shrugged, basically saying 'it was his choice' they all knew his bleeding heart.

"He's healed," Deanna muttered inspecting her sons head, "He's healed, what…I don't understand!" she practically sputtered in her disbelief. Ignoring his wincing at her probing, disturbed by the fact there wasn't a single break in his skin. She'd seen it just a few minutes prior, there had been blood and ripped skin where it had split. She was not losing her mind, thank you very much.

"See, they said it bleeds worse than it is," Reg soothed his frantic wife, befuddled by her comments but assuming she was just still shaken.

"EXCUSE ME!" Harry called out, using his wand to amplify his voice, so they could all hear him.

Not that it did what he wanted, if anything they began to mutter some more.

Merle caught the sight of sheer relief and delight on a woman's face, she looked like she could be Andrea's sister actually. She immediately and eagerly grasped a hold of her son and tried to move them towards his group. The rest were still confused, Merle deduced quite quickly that she knew about the magical world. A squib? A relative of a witch or wizard? A witch herself? Perhaps her boy was a Muggle-born? Was that the word Luna had used? It had been ages ago since it was mentioned.

"EXCUSE ME!" Harry boomed, "I need you all to pay attention!" only partially getting their attention, the whispering continued, as they began to express fear of what was happening. The supernatural was a terrifying prospect for most of them.

Merle was still watching the woman, who didn't just try and get through the crowd with one child, but two. Noticing her left arm was keeping another child close. They were both quiet, complaint, which to Merle was odd, but given they were not exactly in a safe and secure environment it was the right way to be. Merle also understood there could be another reason for their quietness. The second he saw a man grasp her upper arm in a grip that he knew had to be painful, and seeing the way the boys paled, he had his answer.

"Goddamn it," Merle snarled under his breathe.

"Where do you think you're going?" Pete hissed at his wife quietly, frustrated at the lack of control in his life at the moment.

Jessie turned to face her husband, and straightened her spine, "Let go of me!" she stated rather loudly.

Pete glanced around, tightening his grip painfully, glaring at her in silent warning to watch her step and tone. "What is it?" his voice was almost gentle; he didn't want his wife and children out of his sight. "What's wrong?" no surprise that everyone looked away and all was well, as they always did. The blind stupid foolish idiots unaware of the predator he was in their midst.

Pete jerked more in surprise than pain when he felt an arm wrap around his bicep. He did wince in pain when it dawned on him that they were literally hurting him. He certainly wasn't used to any pain whatsoever, in fact, he couldn't stand it. He'd take anything he could to elevate even a simple headache. "What the hell…" he begun in a confused chiding tone, expecting one of his own people only to find it most definitely wasn't.

However, the second Merle noticed that his grip was off his wife, he sucker punched him in the face with all his might. Pete cried out in agony, blood went flying, as the guy went down.

Naturally the group went to help him but an invisible wall pushed them all back, preventing them from rendering aid to Pete.

Pete who by the way was getting his ass handed to him by Merle, who was barely letting him get back to his feet before going in for the next round. There was nothing that could infuriate Merle more than seeing abuse of any kind. He'd done it to Ed Peltier back at the Quarry without qualms, he'd quite content to do so again. Only this time, he knew, he knew nobody would stop him.

"What's going on? I am congresswoman Deanna, you will heed me, stop this at once!"

A/N – I'm not sure how long I've had this laptop but it's already starting to lag grr all I use it for is my writing too, nothing else, I suppose you get what you pay for 😊 it's why I've always wanted an apple laptop unfortunately, you can't really trust second hand technology especially considering how much it hates me 😉 sorry for the long wait, back and forth to the vets Loki got an infection either kidney or bladder we're not sure which poor wee bugger! And I just didn't have as much free time to get writing. So, will Merle give him a beating he won't recover from or one where it will require a long, long recovery that he will take months to get through a recovery?

Also, not sure if I had her as congresswoman or councillor woman or not but if I have it will be edited tomorrow! I think I have it wrong but not 100% I know there's no mistakes about her being a congress/councillor on this chapter though so yay! Funny thing was if it wasn't looking for Jessie's name, I wouldn't have noticed lol Read and Review Please!
