As they sail away and finish catching their breaths, Snowden, Zoey, Francis and Louis discuss their next move.
Zoey: Snowden, thanks for helping us get outta there.
Louis: Yeah, Snowden. I don't think we would've made it without you.
Francis: Definitely, Snow'. I owe you one.
Snowden: Oh, it's nothing. Just doing what I love doing most: Saving lives and ending undesirables.
Zoey: So, what's our next move?
Snowden: Quick question. Have you encountered other people who turn into zombies without any signs of being bitten?
Zoey: Yeah, actually. Louis, Francis, you guys remember?
Louis: There was that married couple with their boat.
Francis: That airplane pilot, that tank driver and that other guy with the other boat.
Snowden: Just as I thought. Listen to me. You guys are carriers of The Green Flu, the virus— err... the source of The Infection. Meaning, you have the shit that turns people into zombies in your blood and are passing it on through the air. The people you've encountered may not have been immune, which could explain why they turned all of a sudden.
Francis: That's terrible, right?
Snowden: Yes. You are walking weapons of mass destruction. One day, you're sleeping in a small, friendly community. The next day, they're all zombies with half of them having no bite marks.
Louis: Hold on. If that's true, then why aren't you turning?
Snowden: I was a carrier at the start of the apocalypse until I became immune.
Zoey: How?
Snowden: Anti-Carrier Luminal Agents. Injected medicine that cures virus and disease carriers. The Green Flu may be deadly, but it has its share of weaknesses. The drug will kill the virus in your bloodstream and prevent more of it from entering your body ever again, basically making you immune. Not a cure for already infected people but keeps us from unintentionally creating more zombies.
Zoey: Holy shit. Can we get those? Will you help us?
Snowden: Of course. There's an aircraft carrier anchored just three miles that way. It's also where I was vaccinated. The CEDA camp and I were supposed to receive a new shipment of the agents for the refugees from them two days ago, but we've lost contact. So expect the worst. Because if the USS Nimitz has been boarded by The Infection, then I have no idea how's that possible. You up for this?
Zoey: Yeah. If it'll keep us from turning more normal people into zombies, then we'll do it.
Francis: Alright, I was getting worried that we might not kill something anymore.
Louis: Hey, I almost forgot. There were four other survivors that we helped get across the bridge not too long ago. And they didn't turn as well. Could they be immune or carriers?
Snowden: If we find them again, we'll ask.
With a priority one objective to become immune before rejoining society, the survivors head east toward the USS Nimitz. An aircraft carrier now partly occupied and redesigned by CEDA as a base of operations and vaccination center.
