Hi everyone. Hope you all are doing well.

This is the start of Crystal Rainbow Season 2. Hope the first season was good because things are gonna get wild from here on in. Can't promise too many things, but I'll do the best I can to make this story how I want and enjoyable for you guys.

Let's begin.

Episode 27: Rose's Love

July 5th 9:00 p.m. 20 years ago

A soft gentle breeze blew itself through the quiet night air. The ocean's waves were calmly pushing themselves back and forth, crashing into the sands and returning to the sea. Up above the stars shined their radiance onto the planet below alongside their companion the moon. Truly...a beautiful night for anyone to experience for themselves...though not many are so fortunate.

On the shores of Beach City near a location surrounded by fences with barbed wires a woman with a white Gemstone on her forehead sat down on the sands with her back against a large rock. Her head was placed onto her knees as she wrapped her arms around her legs. Small whimpers and sobs exited her mouth as she tightened her grip.

'He won... After everything we've been through I can't believe she chose him over me.' She thought. She gritted her teeth as she lifted her head. 'You should've told her! You should've told her after the Rebellion was over! Your chance was right there and she should've noticed the signals you were giving her! No, you should've been more clear! And now...now it's too late.'

"Pearl?"

Pearl released a gasped and turned her head at the sound of her name. To her right was a large light-skinned woman with big pink curly hair. She had beautiful pink eyes, soft lips, and wore a gorgeous white dress with large star around her stomach area. Her Gemstone was also placed in the area as well. A concerned expression was placed on her face as she approached Pearl and honestly...Pearl really, really didn't want to talk to her right now.

"Oh. Hi, Rose." Pearl greeted with a grin.

"Pearl, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Rose asked worriedly.

Pearl stood up from the sands and wiped away the tears in her eyes. "I'm okay. I'm fine. I thought you and your "new husband" were playing music together?"

Rose narrowed her eyes as she walked up to Pearl, "We were, but we were planning on letting you join in for a trio session and you weren't around." Rose then placed her hands on her hips, "And lately you've been kinda distant from us. Please talk to me. Whatever's on your mind that's made you upset I'm sure we can work it out."

Pearl's grin quickly vanished as her and Rose locked eyes. She lightly gulped as she slowly balled her fists. Her eyes then narrowed as she turned her eyes away from Rose.

"It's nothing you need to concern yourself with." Pearl said as she walked away.

As she did this something then grabbed her arm, making her stop in place.

"Pearl... I know when you get upset. What's going on?" Rose asked.

"It doesn't matter anymore." Pearl replied firmly. "Please let me go."

"No." Rose said firmly. "After the War you always seemed happy when it's just the two of us or when Amethyst and Garnet were around, but...ever since Greg came into our lives you've been...angry. Distant. And whenever we go on missions you're always protecting me when I've told you several times that I can handle myself. Did something happen? Did you and Greg get into another fight again?"

Shadows covered Pearl's eyes as she slowly lowered her head. Rose's grip on her tightened as she waited for an answer. But can she tell her now? They've always opened up about their issues, but...this...this... What would her reaction be? what would be the aftermath? It's already over so there's really no point anymore. But...

"Pearl, please. Why can't you talk to me?" Rose asked worriedly.

"Because." Pearl replied.

"Why?"

"Because..."

"Pearl-"

"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!" Pearl screamed.

She turned her head to Rose, showing a hard glare with tears falling down her face. A light gasp left Rose's mouth as her eyes expanded. She released Pearl's arm as Pearl turned to her as she gritted her teeth.

"IT'S NOT FAIR! I LOVE YOU! I'VE ALWAYS LOVED YOU EVER SINCE THE DAY YOU SAVED ME! I'VE WANTED TO TELL YOU FOR SO, SO LONG ABOUT IT, BUT...I COULDN'T FIND THE WORDS." Pearl screamed. "When I finally felt that I had the perfect chance you already found someone else! I've had to endure and put up with that, but then he asked you to marry him..." Floodgates of tears exited Pearl's eyes as she tightened her fists even more, "I CANNOT AND WILL NOT ACCEPT THAT! BUT...but I have to because you love him that much. And now...I can't do anything about it!"

Pearl immediately shut her eyes as she grabbed onto her hair and clenched it. It's not fair... It wasn't fair that the person she loved more than anything was with some random human. And she couldn't even blame anybody else for this except herself. The only thing left to have was Rose's reaction, but...she can't handle that. Especially after she JUST opened up to her.

As she clenched her hair even tighter a soft pair of hands were placed onto hers. They slowly removed her hands from her hair and were then placed onto her cheeks. Opening her eyes Rose stood in front of her with a sorrowful expression as she wiped away Pearl's tears.

Then she bent over and slowly pulled Pearl's face toward her before she turned her head and...the unthinkable happened. The one thing. The one and only thing she ever dreamed of happening was...actually happening right now. She couldn't even express the sensation going through her mind, or even logically think of the words to say. There wasn't even anything she could say anymore.

Their faces soon separated as their cheeks blushed. Rose's lips stretched into a pure genuine smile as Pearl gazed at her with awe.

"Pearl. I had no idea you actually felt this way about me. I am flattered, really I am, but...we can't have this type of relationship." Rose said softly. "It isn't because of Greg or because I don't feel the same way, but because I want you to be your own person."

Pearl blinked at her as her lips frowned.

"You are an amazing woman. Smart. Elegant. Sophisticated. And the greatest tactician of the Crystal Gems. But...I can't be with you because you'll constantly try to protect me and risk your life for mine. I'm sorry, but I can take care of myself and I won't let my closest friend die for my sake. Understand?" Rose said as she softly rubbed Pearl's hair.

Pearl adverted her eyes away, but she did nod.

"However, I also didn't know you were hurting this much. So...I am willing to remedy that for you." Rose said.

Pearl looked back at her as Rose released her hands on her cheeks and placed them into her hands, "W-What are you suggesting?"

"Just for tonight...I will give you the love you deserve." Rose said.

Pearl blinked at her again as her cheeks blushed even harder. Was she...she suggesting what she thinks she's suggesting?

"A-A-Are you sure?" Pearl asked hesitantly.

Rose nodded. "Yes. I'm sure Greg wouldn't mind. You're hurting and I want to heal that hurt. But remember that this is only for tonight. After that I will do my best to spend more time with you, okay?"

Pearl nodded.

Rose then released one of her hands and guided her toward the Temple.

August 8th 2:00 a.m. Present Time

Pearl's eyes shot open as she instantly raised herself up from her bed. She slowly raised an arm up and her fingers touched her lips. Her cheeks slowly began to blush.

'That memory...' She thought as she closed her eyes and smiled. That memory... A memory she will never ever forget until the day she dies.

Soon she felt her cheeks getting wet and touched them with her hands. Her smile slowly disappeared as she wiped her eyes. Turning her head she picked up her charging phone and looked at the time.

It was late. Very late...but she didn't feel like returning to sleep and got out of her bed.

Exiting her room she quietly walked around the Warp Pad and entered the living room. Turning her head she noticed Greg sleeping on the couch with drool leaking out of his mouth and one of his legs falling onto the floor. His snoring was loud and so...annoying to hear, but nothing was as gross as her seeing him scratch his own butt. It makes her wonder what Rose ever saw in him.

Up above she looked at the empty bedroom. Steven was over at Connie's for a sleepover. Being with his friends was very good for him and would put his mind at ease after...what happened the past couple of days.

Walking through the living room Pearl grabbed onto the front door knob and went outside. Going onto the porch she placed her hands onto the railings and looked up at the sky. It looked just the same as the night her and Rose...got more closer.

"Rose..." Pearl said softly. "I...I honestly have no idea what to say to you. You imprisoned Bismuth in a bubble and hid her away from us. On top of that I learned that the Rainbow Gems shatter Gems when need be and told Bismuth to keep a device that can shatter Gems. How are we suppose to just live with that? You told us that we needed to be better, but we don't know what to do without you here. And...I wish you could've been more honest with us."

Closing her eyes Pearl lightly gripped onto the railing. So much going on, yet not knowing what to do was the hardest thing to overcome. She wasn't alone and she knew that the Crystals and the Rainbows already followed different paths. Though it wasn't enough to soften this crisis.

Pearl soon opened her eyes to the sounds of creaking. Turning her head to the right she saw Lion with...a familiar object in his mouth. He dropped it in front of her as she picked it up. The object was pink and showed Rose's symbol at the center. This was...Rose's Scabbard.

"Lion... Where did you find this?" She asked with a shaky voice.

Lion merely blinked at her before kneeling down. Pearl slowly approached him and raised an arm out before placing it onto his mane. A soft pink glow began to illuminate from her touch until she dived right into it.

August 8th 7:00 a.m.

Walking through the dull and melancholy atmosphere of the Alpha Kindergarten Amethyst directed her eyes onto a large rock. Her eyes glared at it as she summoned her whip. Sending it forward she grabbed onto it and with both hands she twirled herself around and launched it right toward an old Injector. The impact made it fall off of the wall and crash right into the ground.

"That makes seven." She said to herself. She then looked up at the remaining Injectors stuck onto walls. The very same machines that gave her life and brought her into existence, same with Rose.

"You know, Rose, I actually wished I could've met you, Garnet, Pearl, and Bismuth a lot earlier." She said to herself. She chuckled slightly as she looked down at her whip, "I mean sure, maybe being born after the Rebellion was a lucky break for me, but...I could've been there to help you guys out."

Water soon fell onto her whip. A light gasp left her mouth as she looked up at the sky. 'That's weird. It doesn't rain here...' She thought as she felt something wet on her face.

Soft chuckles left her mouth as she grabbed another rock and threw it at another Injector. She then started running and throwing her whip toward multiple rocks before launching them at more Injectors. Her chuckles soon turned into laughter, but more and more water went down her cheeks until they dripped off of her chin.

At the end of the ravine she stopped in place and turned around. Her laughter disappeared. Her whip fell out of her hand before disappearing. Her eyes slowly expanded at the mess she just made. The old Injectors...thrashed and destroyed. They were nothing but tech from Home World. Yet...her lip trembled at the sight of them in their newly made states.

She rapidly turned away from them and started running. But straight ahead she stopped in her tracks. Right in front of her was a large Quartz hole, but...this one...out of all the others was all too familiar to her.

'Why... Why is this happening to me now?' She thought as she slowly approached it before going inside.

At the end of the hole there was this weird device. Picking it up she immediately pressed the button on it without even wondering what it was. The top part of it opened up before a flash of light came out showing a miniature Rose.

"Hello Amethyst. If you're listening to this message then...I didn't survive after my baby was born. To be honest, it was a miracle that a Gem such as yourself survived after the War was over. And I am so happy we were able to find you. I really, really am. I know that things will be different after I'm gone, but you're not alone. And the time we've spent together have been one of the best moments of my life. I don't always know what to do and you were very hyperactive here and there, but that never made me love you any less. Do the best you can to fight for what you believe in. And no matter what happens, the future in the distance can be made by your hands. Live your life how you want it to be."

The miniature Rose then vanished as the top part of the device closed up.

Just when she thought the wetness on her cheeks dried up they began to get wet again. Her lips started to tremble until she held the device close to her chest and released loud uncontrollable sobs.

August 8th 12:00 p.m.

Rose's Fountain. A sacred place welcomed by all who enter and a sanctuary for the Crystals during the War. Within the center of the area lied a massive stone statue of Rose Quartz herself releasing floods of her healing tears out of the statue's eyes while wielding a saber sword and shield.

Around the fountain were large bushes filled with a variety of roses. White, yellow, blue, green, pink, etc.

Walking toward the statue Garnet stopped in place right in front of it. In her hands she held two large bouquets of pink roses and gently placed them on the ground next to the fountain. As she stood back up she placed her attention onto the statue.

Her friend... Her savior... The one who inspired her to make a change and be something better than...who she was before.

A purple aura soon surrounded Garnet's body as she started glowing purple until her body separated into a red light and a blue light. The lights stood side by side with hands intertwined before the lights slowly faded and both Ruby and Sapphire emerged.

Their hands soon released themselves from each other as they continued staring at the statue. Ruby's eyes slowly narrowed as she slowly gripped her fists while Sapphire remained calm, though she firmly intertwined her hands together.

"I can't believe you!" Ruby yelled. "After everything we've been through! After all the battles we've endured! After we placed our trust to you, YOU DO THIS TO US!?" Ruby shut her eyes as tears started developing in them.

"Not once have we ever showed any doubts toward you. Nor have we ever used Future Vision to dictate your next move or what would lie ahead of us. However..." Sapphire said as ice began to form around the bottom of her dress, "Neither me or Ruby appreciate the deception you've brought upon us."

Tears slowly fell from Ruby's eyes as steam began to rising out from her. Opening her eyes she glared at the statue, "You placed us in charge and as Garnet we've done the best we could being a leader. We'd never pry into your privacy as you wouldn't with ours, but we weren't ready to handle something like this! You even told us to never question who we were when me and Sapphire became Garnet, but...but...AUGH!"

She screamed into the air as more steam came off of her body before turning into fire. Placing her hands onto her hair she gripped onto it tightly as her flames grew. But the flames were slowly extinguishing themselves while Sapphire's ice began to melt. Honestly...these two were perfect for each other as their abilities weren't just complete opposites but complimented each other as well. If either one came here alone the sanctuary would've either get burned to a crisp or get engulfed in ice.

Releasing her hands from her hair Ruby turned to Sapphire as she herself had tears falling down her face. Seeing her in this state made more tears fall from Ruby's eyes as she walked up to her, placing her hands into Sapphire's.

"Where... Where do you think we'll go from here?" Ruby asked sadly.

"I'm not sure." Sapphire answered.

"You didn't check to see-"

"No, Ruby. Not this time." Sapphire answered. "Any other time I would, but personally...I'm not sure, even if I did look into it. But...I also know that not everything she told us was a lie."

Ruby blinked at her. As her tears evaporated she gave it some thought. Her eyes slowly expanded as she looked back at Sapphire with a growing smile. Sapphire's lips stretched into a small smile as they both leaned forward, placing their lips against each others. This feeling...this very feeling...wasn't a lie. Rose told them long ago they were an amazing couple and their relationship was something truly unique. This very thought was placed into Ruby's and Sapphire's minds as they deepened their kiss.

Both of their bodies were then engulfed in their respected colored auras before they came together again and Garnet was brought back. She glanced at Rose's statue and walked away.

'Even though you hurt us now, you gave us something that'll never go away. Thank you...' She thought as she approached the Warp Pad nearby.

August 8th 5:00 p.m.

CLANK! CLANK! CLANK! CLANK! CLANK!

Within the Forge Bismuth herself was slamming her mallet arm onto her anvil. Slam after slam she gritted her teeth. Pound after pound her eyes narrowed at her soon-to-be creation. Strike after strike flashes came into her mind.

'Crazy Lace... Biggs... Snowflake... Rose...' She thought.

With one final CLANK she stopped and looked at her work. She grimaced at it as she picked it up with her other hand. She sighed and threw it into a self-made garbage can next to her.

"Guess I'll take a break." She said to herself.

To her right she walked over to a handmade metal chair and placed herself on it. Raising her hands near her Gemstone it glowed before an object was placed into her hands. The Rebellion Book. She hadn't really gotten herself to read it after showing her friends the Breaking Point. It actually surprised her to learn that Green had recorded everything that happened during the War. Even more surprising were the statues of each and every Crystal and Rainbow Gem Citrine showed her.

Opening the book there was a large table of contents from the very first page, but as Bismuth scanned through different chapter titles there was one that immediately caught her attention. As much as she would enjoying read each chapter from beginning to end the chapter title: Requiem had her complete attention.

Turning the pages she found the beginning of the chapter and began reading it.

Today...is a day we never expected to come.

For many, many years the Crystal Gems and the Rainbow Gems have been in conflict with Home World on this very planet known as Earth.

For eons we've conquered many worlds across the various galaxies in the universe. Slaughtering countless lives, annihilating their homes, spreading nothing but fear, bloodshed, and despair wherever we went.

For the longest time "The Cause" had made many of us turn a blind eye and selfishly focus all of our efforts toward it and it alone.

For that, something had to be done. Enough was enough. So when Pink Diamond was assigned to her very first planet Green Diamond, a fallen member of the Great Diamond Authority had to rise up and fight against those who trusted him. On Earth he met a unique Rose Quartz who was fighting for freedom and apposed her superior, Pink Diamond.

Diamond and Quartz created two different factions with two different goals, but despite their differences they came together to put an end toward the Cycle of Genocide.

The inhabitants of the planet had joined in to fight. There were times of hesitation on this, but they themselves would fight to protect their home instead of running away or be consumed with fear and hide. Neither Green nor Rose apposed to this and so...we fought.

Our odds were against us and we've lost some of the best people we've gotten close to. Soldiers, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, each of them gave everything they had for the survival of the world they were born on.

Then as we even the odds and pushed back, turning the tide and gaining an advantage Pink Diamond had completely lost her sanity. Rose Quartz herself faced her as Green engulfed them in a large crystal cage and watched. Pink pleaded her fellow friend for help, but he simply turned his head away, ignoring her words as she fought Rose. Many, many times had he wished he'd help her, but she was already gone and there wasn't any other way to help her.

The battle was deadly fierce and Rose herself fought with everything she had. Though Pink was stronger Rose's determination kept her on edge and pushed Pink with every strike. As the climax was coming up Pink screamed, cried, and wailed like a beast as she charged straight at Rose. With her sword in hand she dashed at the uncontrollable Diamond and released her from existence.

We won.

However...the victory came at a price. Once news of Pink's death reached he armies they instantly ran back toward their ships and alerted the other Diamonds. Once they themselves approached Earth Green Diamond and Rose Quartz gave everything they had to protect as many of their friends and allies as they could. As the Diamonds retreated back to Home World both the Crystal Gems and the Rainbow Gems had barely survived the final attack from Home World.

We had won...but not without paying a hefty price.

The Earth had been spared, but those we couldn't save...we stood as we saw their corpses and shards. One by one both factions made appropriate resting sites for those that perished. Rose and Pearl stood in front of us all and sung for the fallen so their souls would reach the stars.

Our tears fell. Our hearts broke. But we survived and those that died will be forever remembered for as long as we are here.

The suffering had been subsided, but only for a short while.

As Bismuth finished reading the chapter tears fell from her eyes and dripped onto the pages.

'She...she kept the sword I made for her...' Bismuth thought.

She closed the book and looked up at the ceiling. That...was a tearjerker. And...even after bubbling her away...Rose kept the sword.

Her lips slowly stretched into a small grin as Bismuth covered her eyes.

August 8th 10:00 p.m.

At the Maheswaran residence it was dark. The atmosphere was quiet. The only shreds of light around was from the moon, illuminating the kitchen and living room.

Steven was lying down on the couch with his eyes locked onto the ceiling. Near the couch was a grandfather clock ticking and tocking. Though he didn't pay any mine to it.

Sucking in some ear he lifted himself up and sat up from the couch. Walking around the living room table he made his way toward the kitchen. Opening up the refrigerator he reached his hand out and grabbed a water bottle before closing the door. Walking back into the living he sat down on the couch and opened his bottle before drinking it. After three gulps he pulled the bottle away from his lips and placed it onto the table next to him.

'Mom...' Steven thought. He looked over at his phone charging and took it off the charger. Unlocking it he went into his photos and...went straight to the picture of his mother hanging above the front door.

'Me and Kameron have those tapes you made for us...but...I don't know if I should watch it. I learned something about you and Green. I know that you didn't have a choice in shattering Pink Diamond, but you put Bismuth in a bubble because she wanted revenge for Home World killing her friends. You never told Pearl or Garnet about it. And then I learned that Green and his sons and daughters shatter Gems whenever they think they have to!' Steven though as he narrowed his eyes on the picture.

'My big brother has some kind of second personality after his girlfriend was killed by a Corrupted and I'm worried about him. I wanna live up to what you left behind but now...I'm not sure if I really can. I'm sure that if you were still here I could talk to you about this. I know that you probably didn't want me to get involved in this. But now that I have your Gemstone I can't just sit by and let Home World try to take the planet again.'

Tears began to form in his eyes as they slowly dripped onto the screen. They slowly flowed down on his cheeks as he continued to look at the picture. He never got to know her. Nor did he see her in person, hear her voice, or understood who she really was. The best way for him to learn about his mom is from others and see if what they say is true...or another lie.

He wasn't the only kid in the world who had to deal with this. There were other kids who possibly never met their mother either or their father, or their parents would leave them and never come back. He was lucky to still have his dad around, but...sometimes...just sometimes...he wishes he could see and talk to her.

He then started sniffling and wiped his eyes with his elbow. As he continued looking at his mom his lips slowly stretched into a grin. At the very least...he got to see what she looks like. That's got to count, right?

Getting up from the couch he walked toward and nearby door and grabbed onto it. Opening it he went inside and turned on the lights, revealing the room to be the bathroom. He then walked up to the tub and sat on it's edge. Raising his phone to his face again Steven went into his contacts and pressed onto his brother's number. Putting the phone next to his ear he heard it ringing a few times and soon heard a familiar voice.

"Hello?" Said the other line.

"Kameron? It's Steven." Steven replied.

"*yawn* Oh, hey hermanito. What's wrong?" Kameron said tiredly.

"Um...I'm sorry for waking you up but...I just wanted to talk." Steven replied.

"Sure. I'm listening." Kameron said.

End of Episode 27.

Wow. This was a little tricky for me, but I am glad I was able to finish it.

I'm also sorry for making any of you wait if you were.
